The season is rolling it to Week 2, and I don’t want anyone to sleep on NFL DFS tight ends. Tight ends are sometimes forgotten and left to the last pick in your lineup and that can easily leave you with an outcome of 0-2 points. This could be devastating for your chances of a takedown or simply cashing. Each week I will lay out my favorite options up top and the best value plays on the board as well. Let’s dive in to this Week 2 NFL DFS slate and talk some tight ends.
NOAH FANT, DEN $4,200 DRAFTKINGS, $5,700 FANDUEL
Coming off a 6 reception 62 yard game in Week 1, Noah Fant is a great play at tight end in Week 2. Fant lead the team in targets and should see an increased role in Week 2 now that Jeudy will be out for some time with an ankle injury. This is a great matchup versus Jacksonville who just got beat down by Houston. A ton of offense was displayed by Houston while they put up 37 points against this weak defense. The price tag is right, the matchup is great, and the target share Fant provides makes him a nice cash game and tournament play for Week 2.
JARED COOK, LAC $3,900 DRAFTKINGS, $5,400 FANDUEL
Jared Cook is the forgotten tight end in both season long and DFS. If he is available on the waiver wire leagues still, I suggest scooping him up because there are not many tight ends who provide week to week stability. You will need shares of this Charger offense this week and Cook is the cheapest exposure you can obtain. Cook had 5 receptions and 56 yards receiving, versus a tough Washington defense and that should be his floor moving into Week 2. He faces off against an already banged up Dallas defense and Dallas is one of the worst defenses at defending the tight end. I predict another double digit performance from Cook in Week 2 and don’t be surprised if he finds his way into the end zone.
GERALD EVERETT $3,600 DRAFTKINGS, $5,000 FANDUEL
We are going to continue to look at value at the tight end position in order to pay up for elite talent in other spots. Now Everett exceeded value in a tough matchup versus the Colts in Week 1 by finding his way into the end zone. Two receptions wont be enough in most weeks, but I see a better matchup ahead and one which should stay closer throughout the game forcing the Seahawks to throw the ball a little more. The hope is to get more targets thrown Everett’s way and for him to solidify himself as the number three option in this offense moving forward.
COLE KMET, CHI $3,700 DRAFTKINGS $5,100 FANDUEL
Kmet was targeted seven times in Week 1 and we love seeing that output out of the tight end position in our fantasy lineups. Granted he still has Andy Dalton throwing him the ball, which is not a positive. But I will take 5 receptions and 42 yards any day of the week from a value priced tight end. The price is right on Kmet and the matchup versus a poor Bengals defense should provide some upside in Week 2 for your tournament lineups.
ADAM TRAUTMAN, NO $3,000 DRAFTKINGS, $4,500 FANDUEL
Trautman has landed himself along side some average at best wide receivers in New Orleans. This could lead to an increased role moving forward and more fantasy production in Week 2. Trautman received 6 targets while grabbing 3 receptions in a 38-3 romping of the Green Bay Packers. As crazy as it sounds I think a matchup versus Sam Darnold and the Panthers will lead to a closer game and more passing attempts for Winston and the crew. Trautman will be used in large field tournaments only where I need the value and I want to fade the high owned plays at the position.
