Synopsis:
This is an interesting first UCL slate of the year. All three games are the second leg of the third round of UCL Qualifying. Both the Marseille/Panathinaikos and Rangers/Servette games are one goal difference, PSV has a 4-1 lead over Sturm Graz.
In the PSV/Sturm game, I like PSV’s forwards and midfield. Sturm needs to focus on scoring as soon as possible to lower the stress of being down three. That mindset will open up a lot of space in between the midfield and defense, which PSV can easily exploit with players like Sangare and Bakayoko. I do think Sturm will get their chances, which is why I included their attacking wingback Gazibegovic and forward Bedia.
In the two one-score games, I think all four teams play the game like it’s 0-0 since none of them will want to give their opponents an unnecessary advantage early on. If you are playing multiple lineups, these two games are the best place to build your player pool.
