Here is a look at today’s slate. My advice is to try and find some pitching value and then use the remaining money to capitalize on the many stacks available . Also listen to today’s podcast below, as Scott Engel and I pin down the Thursday slate.
CLE@TEX Bieber vs. Minor.
Texas bats can always be a play at home, especially with warmer weather looming, but Biebs has been pretty good so I am staying away NO PLAY
COL@AZ Hoffman vs. Ray
I like Robbie Ray but these Rockies bats are very unpredictable. AZ BATS could be a play here depending on price.
PHI@WSH Pivetta vs. Fedde (?)
This series remains volatile and I am not touching it. NO PLAY
HOU@NYY Valdez vs. Green
This is going to be a fun series to watch, Altuve, Stanton both back and healthy but I wouldn’t put my money here. NO PLAY
LAA@TOR Suarez vs. Richard
ANGELS BATS are the play here for me. Richard’s ERA is north of 7. The lefty/righty matchups are also interesting especially taking a look at Richard’s splits. Suarez’s offspeed stuff could keep Blue Jays batters off balance.
MIA@STL Gallen vs. Wainwright.
Lots of eyes on Gallen as he makes his much anticipated debut. Gallen’s numbers in Triple A have been downright impressive but this is the Majors. There are still a lot of variables in this game and it is a NO PLAY for me.
NYM@CHC Lockett vs. Chatwood.
While Chatwood walks more than the old lady gangs in the Sergio Tachinni jumpsuits and ankle weights that terrorize my neighborhood, I still won’t take Mets bats here ( maybe an Alonso mini stack ) and there is much that still needs to be known about Walker Lockett. There is NO PLAY here for me.
CIN@MIL Roark vs. Nelson
The Reds are coming off of some serious overachievement but that still doesn’t equate to a play here for me, even with Nelson’s deceiving 10+ERA . If anything, MIL BATS could be at play here.
MIN@KC Odorizzi vs. Sparkman
TWINS BATS. All day. They have seen Sparkman before and should continue to rake. ODORIZZI could also be a nice option depending on how he is priced.
TB@OAK Morton vs. Montas.
If Montas weren’t throwing, I would say play RAYS bats here but Montas is 9-2 with a 2.85 ERA. Oakland is 10-4 when he starts and hasn’t given up more than three runs in 13 of his last 14 starts. Try to find a play elsewhere. NO PLAY .
BAL@SEA Bundy vs. LeBlanc
This is the rare case where I am okay with “siding” a game. Both of these pitchers are “ethnic foods,” meaning they cause the runs. Try to find a nice BAL BAT stack and a SEA BAT stack. It will take some clever maneuvering, but I believe in you .
SF@LAD Bumgarner vs. Urias
I just want to see Muncy vs. Bumgarner again! In all actuality, if the Dodgers can chase MadBum, their bats could be in play here- but if we get a pissed off Bumgarner, that may not be the case. Also keep in mind that MadBum may be auditioning for a trade deadline deal. URIAS starting on the other side is an interesting play as he will look to stretch out in a starting role and could be a value.
I would love to hear from you : @Matt_Striker_
Are you ahead thus far in the season ?
Are you putting more into your accounts than you are cashing out ?
Do you feel “forced” to play games and then regret it ?
Let’s talk about your DFS, there is no reason you shouldn’t be making money !!!
