The MLB Sweet Spot – Sunday August 4th

It’s a Sunday Funday here at Win Daily Sports. Thankfully I’ve been much hotter than my Phillies as they have now lost six in a row after losing another heartbreaker last night. We’ll look to keep that going today as we have a full slate of great MLB matchups.

Both Jared and I will be posting articles during the week and have a central focus on both MLB betting and DFS. Today is my turn and I will provide you a centralized focus on betting, props and DFS plays.

DFS – 1:35PM SLATE

We’re looking at the 1:35pm slate today as that has the largest pool of games with 10.

Top Pitchers to Target:

PAUL SKENES ($10,300 DK):

In his last outing, Skenes had his least number of strikeouts since his 3rd career start when he struck out just six Astros batters. But he still managed 18.1 DK points as he allowed just 1 ER run and lowered his overall ERA to 1.90. Today he gets the Arizona Diamondbacks who have been blistering of late, batting 0.350 as a team over the past 10 days. But they’ve never faced Skenes which gives him an advantage against a power hitting aggressive team like Arizona.

MAX FRIED ($9000 DK):

We’ve said this many time in prior articles, but we’ll say it again here. When given the opportunity, play LHP’s against the Miami Marlins. That’s because the Marlins are 29th in batting, 30th in OPS, 30th in wOBA and 30th in wRC+ against southpaws.

OTHER SP’S IN MY PLAYER POOL: CORBIN BURNES ($9500 DK), MICHAEL WACHA ($8400 DK)

Value Pitchers to Target:

SIMEON WOODS RICHARDSON ($7100 DK)

The Twins SP gets a favorable matchup today when he takes the mound against the White Sox. If you haven’t noticed the standings of late, the White Sox have now lost 19 straight games and are on pace to post the worst record ever. In the last 15 games, the Sox have scored more than 3 runs just once. So we can put all that together and play Woods Richardson with confidence. His metrics aren’t great but opponents bat just 0.234 against him.

HONORABLE MENTION: SPENCER ARRIGHETTI ($7600 DK)

Top Stacks to Target:

BREWERS:

The Brewers face Nationals LHP Mitchell Parker today. Parker has been in a rut allowing 13 ERs in his last 3 starts. And Milwaukee’s offense has been solid of late posting a 0.260 batting average in the last 10 games. I’m going to focus on a stack around Rhys Hoskins who has 4 homers in his last 8 games. Other bats to consider are Garrett Mitchell (batting 0.471 in last 8 games), Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, and Willy Adames.

TWINS:

Other Stacks to Consider: LA DODGERS
