It’s a Sunday Funday here at Win Daily Sports. We are cooking when it comes to our bets and DFS plays. The bets yesterday returned -0.5 units but Thursday and Friday saw a combined +8.4 units. So we’ll look to stay hot, like pretty much every team in the NL West, as we close out the first full week in August.
Both Jared and I will be posting articles during the week and have a central focus on both MLB betting and DFS. Today is my turn and I will provide you a centralized focus on betting, props and DFS plays.
GAME BETS & PLAYER PROPS
NEW YORK YANKEES -145 vs TEXAS RANGERS
The Yankees and Rangers split their double-header yesterday with each winning a lopsided game. So the winner of today’s game will get the series. Based on their recent play, I’m backing the Yankees as they are 9-4 in their last 13 games. The Rangers on the other hand are 4-9 in that same stretch. The big reason for their poor play has been the pitching as they have a staff ERA of 6.45 in the past 2 weeks.
And the Rangers give the ball to Andrew Heaney today who is prone to the fly ball. That will be problematic versus a Yankees team that is 2nd in the MLB with 176 homers.

We’re looking at the 1:35pm slate today as that has the largest pool of games with 10.
Top Pitchers to Target:
DYLAN CEASE ($10,100 DK):
Cease has been on a tear for the past month. The only thing that stopped him recently was the weather as he was only able to pitch 1.0 innings in his last start due to a rain delay. But in the four starts prior to that one, he allowed just 1 ER and averaged 38.5 DK points per outing. And today he gets the dream matchup of facing a soft lineup in the Miami Marlins. Since trading off the meat of their order, the Marlins are batting just 0.231 as a team and are 24th in wOBA and 25th in wRC+.
TANNER BIBEE ($9200 DK):
Bibee has been outstanding for Cleveland all season. But even more so when he pitches against the Twins who he faces today. In two outings against Minnesota, he’s pitched 12.1 innings and allowed just 2 ER’s. More impressively, he’s struck out 17 batters in those games. And he is even better on the road, posting a 5-2 record and a 3.00 ERA.

DAVID FESTA ($7300 DK)
I’m going back to one of our best plays of the year with David Festa. In his last outing, he racked up 30.1 DK points and returned 5x value. And he was one of our favorite pitchers that day which brought home some big payouts in DFS. Now people know of him and his ownership will go way up. So tread this one carefully. But I’ll still have pieces of Festa in my lineup tree as his 28.8% K rate is very enticing. Additionally, the Guardians are batting just 0.232 in the month of August which adds to the allure today.

In the last 2 weeks, the Yankees have amassed 27 home runs which is 3rd most in the league. That power surge is led by Jazz Chisholm (7) and Aaron Judge (6). And the reason that’s important is they face Andrew Heaney today. The Rangers SP has the highest fly ball rate on the slate today with a 46.5% rate. It’s hot in the northeast and the ball should be flying at Yankee stadium today. So I’ll look to get a stack of Judge, Chisholm, Alex Verdugo and Anthony Volpe in my lineups. Another one to keep an eye on is DJ LaMahieu who is batting 0.467 off Heaney in 15 career at-bats.
