Quarterbacks

Week 7 couldn’t get here any sooner, with so many upsets in Week 6 putting some of us through worse torture than a root canal. Brady came up short against a practice squad secondary in Pittsburgh, and Kyler and Geno just could not find the endzone. What was supposed to be more of a shoot-out ended up being a kicker and defensive battle. The byes are even more brutal this go-round, as we lose our cash game quarterback locks of Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts. But we’re all in the same boat and we’ll work with what we have on this 11-game slate. The projection model will always be our crutch to lean on when lineup building, but here are a few QBs to think about in the meantime. As usual, you can tag me @jdicarlo78 or anyone else in the crew at WinDaily in our expert chat on Discord for any help…let’s turn the page and break down these Week 7 QBs!

Let’s check out our NFL Week 7 DFS Quarterbacks!

Lamar Jackson ($8,000 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel)

Jackson gave up another loss last week forcing the ball out and leading to a costly interception that ended in the game-winning touchdown by the Giants. On Sunday Lamar and the Ravens will welcome their division rival Cleveland Browns with its 30th DVOA in total defense, 29th in rushing DVOA, and allow an average of 28 points per game. Jackson will be in a get-right game to get back on a Browns’ team who look to have given up on playing defense this year.

Patrick Mahomes ($7,800 DraftKings/$8,500 FanDuel)

The second of the elite quarterbacks from Week 6 to lose by throwing a pick. Week 7 will be an uphill fight for Mahomes traveling to the Bay Area. The Niners have been the kiss of death to opposing offenses this season but lost 6 players on defense due to injury last week, including second-year safety Talanoa Hufanga. Stay up to speed on the Niners’ injury report, but either way, Mahomes will bring his “A” game in a KC pass-heavy offense that averages close to 40 pass attempts per game.

Joe Burrow ($6,900 DraftKings/$8,300 FanDuel)

Joe “Cool” may still be on cloud nine after his 4 total touchdown game back home in Louisiana. Atlanta is also coming off a big win against the Niners and has been tough in every game this year. Thanks to the Falcon corners Casey Hayward and AJ Terrell, opposing quarterbacks and receivers have feasted on a 31st DVOA passing defense. Joe should bring some of that Week 6 magic home to Cinci. against an Atlanta team who refuses to lie down to their opponents.

Justin Herbert ($7,200 DraftKings/$8,100 FanDuel)

Herbert hasn’t looked like himself since his rib injury in Week 1, only putting up 9 fantasy points at home to Denver on Monday night. Denver’s D is stacked, so don’t sweat Herbert in that game. He needs his boy Keenan Allen back desperately, who may be available this weekend after a long-awaited hamstring recovery. Allen back on the field opposite Mike Williams may be just what the doctor ordered to get Herbert rejuvenated on Sunday, and facing a soft Seattle secondary (30th in DVOA for total points allowed) would be the perfect remedy.

Dak Prescott ($6,700 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel)

If Dak is back, he may be worth a shot in a tournament. Since Week 2 he’s watched backup Cooper Rush manage a 4-1 record from the sidelines, and is itching to get back under center. The Cowboys host Detroit this weekend in what could be a smash spot at quarterback. The Lions for 2022 has been the most fantasy-friendly team to every opposing position, 30th in DVOA to quarterbacks. If he does get cleared he may be worth the risk of a little rust to put up big numbers back at the helm.

Tom Brady ($6,300 DraftKings/$7,400 FanDuel)

The GOAT underperformed in Pittsburgh last week, even with its string of injuries at secondary. Brady may have left his game at Robert Kraft’s wedding the night before up in New England, who knows. Hopefully, the hangover wore off by now and he can get back on track to chucking touchdowns and beating up on inferior defenses. The Panthers have been dominated by Brady since he arrived in the NFC South, in two meetings last season he threw for over 550 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Goat should easily payoff his mid-range salary for this slate.

Jimmy Garoppolo ($5,500 DraftKings/$7,200 FanDuel)

There are two ways Jimmy can ball out against Kansas City in a rematch of the 2019 Super Bowl. Whether he is playing from behind or playing to keep up with Mahomes and the Chiefs, Garoppolo will need to add extra icy hot his shoulder after this game. The Kansas City defense has allowed the second most fantasy points to contending quarterbacks this year. Also, keep up with San Fran’s injuries on defense. If they’re still less than 100 percent on Sunday, Jimmy G’s workload will far exceed the cheap price tag.

Our Discord has been lit up with screenshots so green you would think it was St. Patrick’s Day in October! The NFL from week to week has been throwing us curve balls left and right but our projection model keeps us from falling off a DFS cliff. The bye weeks have arrived, so the slates will begin to shrink from here on in, and as the player pools tighten up we need to be even more creative. Only 11 games on the main slate this weekend but we have plenty of QBs on the menu. As usual, you can tag me @jdicarlo78 or anyone else in the crew at WinDaily in our expert chat on Discord for any help…let’s keep the grind going and break down our Week 6 QBs!

Let’s check out our NFL Week 6 DFS Quarterbacks!

Josh Allen ($8,200 DraftKings/$9,200 FanDuel) / Patrick Mahomes ($8,000 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel)

In a rematch of one of the most thrilling AFC Divisional games on record, last year’s shootout between the Bills and Chiefs features two of the best quarterbacks in the game today. Take your pick, it’s a lay-up here and you can’t go wrong either way. Allen and Mahomes need no explanation and have both been red-hot, each coming off of 4-touchdown pass performances. They will continue to air it out in Week 6, but keep in mind Buffalo lost that divisional playoff game by a coin toss, which could be fermenting in Josh Allen’s head all year. I would lean more his way on Sunday.

Kyler Murray ($7,300 DraftKings/$8,300 FanDuel)

With a losing record at 2-3, Murray will crush it at home facing the Seahawks, who rank 25th in DVOA for quarterbacks. Seattle also sags at 30th in DVOA for rushing, and with a banged-up James Connor and Darrel Williams, Murray himself may have to pick up the slack with his legs too. Murray has quietly been a stud all season for fantasy, even producing value in 4th quarter-garbage time. Totally safe spot here for cash, and he’ll save you some cap space to pay up elsewhere in your lineups.

Tom Brady ($6,300 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel)

The guy’s been in the business for over 20 years and really needs no introduction. The GOAT is in the “Steel City” for Week 6 and will look to keep the momentum moving in that direction. Pittsburgh’s pass coverage was put on blast last week, Buffalo’s Josh Allen threw 4 touchdowns…by halftime. So we have Brady again at a discount in a juicy matchup for the second week in a row. Tampa’s O-line is still a bit shaky but we can rest easy on Brady, who like a surgeon will dissect the Steelers’ secondary that is ranked 27th in DVOA.

Kirk Cousins ($6,000 Draftkings/$7,600 FanDuel)

Not only will Kirky be soaking in some rays while sipping a mai tai in Florida, but he’ll also be picking apart the injury-ridden Miami defense. Corners Nick Needham and Xavien Howard have been struggling to keep up with receivers (30th in DVOA) as they await the return of Byron Jones, who has yet to make his season debut. Miami’s rushing defense also got gashed by the Jets last week (230 total yards/2 touchdowns to running backs). If Minnesota can get Dalvin Cook going early, Cousins will flourish in play-action and crush his mid-range price tag this week.

Geno Smith ($5,700 DraftKings/$7,400 FanDuel)

Russell who? Smith has caught the entire league off-guard with his top-notch leadership and efficiency on the field. He currently leads the NFL in completion percentage (75%) with a rating of 113.2. And they were not all cupcake matchups either, beating Denver at home and recently going toe to toe in N’Orleans putting up 24 fantasy points. At this point in the season, we can’t sleep on Smith and his production. Because of Seattle’s invisible defense, he finds himself playing at full throttle for 4 quarters. Geno will be in another smash spot for Week 6 at Arizona, who have allowed over 1,300 air yards and 8 touchdowns for 5 games.

With 4 weeks in the books, we are beginning to pick up some steam into the season. We didn’t have too many clear paths at quarterback last week, but we kept our heads above water for the most part. Trubisky was a land mine that some of us, including myself, stepped on. Goff was gold though, and if you took Geno Smith who was in my Game by Game breakdown last week you hit the jackpot. In our projection model, we crunch the numbers for you to give the most accurate production per player, use the tools! This week is pretty it looks like we are in the same boat for a quarterback and pretty straightforward. Tag me @jdicarlo78 or anyone else in the crew at WinDaily in our expert chat on Discord for any help…let’s keep the ball rolling and break down our Week 5 QBs!

Let’s check out our NFL Week 5 DFS Quarterbacks!

Josh Allen ($8,200 DraftKings/$9,000 FanDuel)

You can’t miss picking up Allen, set him in your lineup and forget it. He’s match-up proof this season already surpassing 1,200 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and 2 on the ground. Not only are we getting him a little cheaper this week, but he gets a Pittsburgh T J Watt-less defense that allowed Zach Wilson the dub with over 20 fantasy points. Allen is by far the safest QB with the highest floor in DFS this season.

Jalen Hurts ($8,100 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel)

The Jags kept Hurts under wraps but Philly still came out on top at home in Week 4. Kudos to former head coach Doug Pederson, but we still saved face with a 2x value on Jalen. In Arizona this week we should see another stand-out performance as the Cards rank at the bottom in passing yards allowed (23rd) and total defense (25th). Hurts is second-most expensive on the slate but one of the safest in Week 5.

Tom Brady ($6,000 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel)

I never thought I’d see the day that Jared Goff would be more expensive than the GOAT in DFS yet in Week 5, here we are. Brady’s (385 PAYRD/3 TD) didn’t make the cut against Kansas City on Sunday night. Last week’s tough loss sets the stage for him and the Bucs to blow the doors off the Falcons at a discounted salary. Atlanta’s defense is bottom of the barrel across the board (25th PaYd/game DVOA) allowing over 25 points a game (27th). Brady is a no-brainer in all formats with his weapons (Evans and Godwin) back at full strength.

Carson Wentz ($5,700 DraftKings/$6,800 FanDuel)

Wentz had his worst game of the season floating a 9 burger against Dallas’ insane pass rush in Week 4. So he won’t be on anyone’s radar in DFS this Sunday hosting Tennessee. The Titans ooze fantasy value out of their pores to opposing quarterbacks, allowing over 300 yards and 8 touchdown passes over the last 3 games. Forget the horror show you witnessed in Dallas last week and get Carson in a GPP this weekend.

Teddy Bridgewater ($5,400 DraftKings/$6,400 FanDuel)

No Tua, no problem for Miami. Coach Mike McDaniel’s system is plug-and-play for the quarterback position and Teddy B will have the best receiver core for his career this week in East Rutherford. The Dolphins’ 9 year veteran is no gunslinger but can easily manage this offense and get to 3X value of his salary. New York will not be able to keep receivers Tyreek Hill and Jalen Waddle from running circles around them (27th in points allowed) and Bridgewater will reap the rewards on the Week 5 stat sheet. A GPP Miami stack is smelling good this weekend.

We’re already a month into the NFL season and our quarterback plays have been studs! Check out our projection model, the numbers don’t lie…Hurts, Allen, and Burrow were all right here so stay tuned. This week is pretty cut and dry with few clear-cut paths to nailing this spot, so we may not want to force certain quarterbacks in our lineups. In a nutshell…we’re paying up for the Tomahawk Steak or paying down for the Roast Beef at quarterback this week plain and simple. As always tag me @jdicarlo78 or anyone else in the crew at WinDaily in our expert chat on Discord for any help…Now on to our Week 4 QBs!

Let’s check out our NFL Week 4 DFS Quarterbacks!

Josh Allen @ BAL ($8,400 DraftKings/$8,900 FanDuel)

Last week’s showdown in Miami was not all the hype we expected for fantasy, but Allen still got his rocks off. He’s one of the most obvious choices but we can’t afford to miss in cash games. We can’t go wrong with Allen in another smash spot against a fraudulent Baltimore secondary, who has already hemorrhaged 1,100 passing yards and 7 touchdowns. Buffalo’s golden boy has been averaging over 30 fantasy points per game since Week 1 and is in line to serve up another 30 burger this weekend.

Lamar Jackson vs. BUF ($8,300 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel)

Same game, Lamar is the quarterback 1B of this potential gunslinger showdown in the AFC. Action Jackson had a slow start but lately, he’s been a man possessed. Averaging over 40 DraftKings points for the last two games, Lamar is leading the league in touchdown passes (10) and QB rating (119). He is another effortless decision this week at quarterback.

Jalen Hurts vs. JAX ($8,2000 DraftKings/$8,600 FanDuel)

Who greased Roger Goodell for Philly’s season schedule? Hurts gets another walk in the park in Week 4 with the Jags. The Eagles have emerged as an NFC contender behind their third-year signal-caller, leading the position at yards per attempt (9.37) and rushing touchdowns (3). Jacksonville has already surrendered 805 passing yards and 5 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks this year, Hurts will get work in again at home.

Jared Goff vs. SEA ($5,900 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel)

Goff’s been pretty consistent with a modest stat line to start the season. But as his play improves, his salary starts creeping up too. The volume is back with a total of 748 passing yards and 7 touchdowns on the season, Goff can beef up those numbers even more with Seattle. Running back D”Andre Swift is set to miss some time which may lead to Goff needing to throw, even more, making his target machine Amon Ra even more fantasy reliable.

Mitch Trubisky vs. NYJ ($5,100 DraftKings/$6,500 FanDuel)

Risk it for the Biscuit! We will just have to keep picking on those weak Jets, and with Trubisky why not?! Too risky you think? No way not at his salary, he can get there with his legs alone with his value. Mitch knows his days are numbered in Pittsburgh with Kenny Pickett on deck, so expect him to go out at home and put on a good show. Now his stats (569 PA YDS./2 TDs/1 RUSH TD) are not the greatest, but from a DFS standpoint, he allows you to have the cap to stack in on a Baltimore/Buffalo type of game.

Week 2 was insane if you were a quarterback in the NFL! Not one, but two of them scored over 40 DraftKings fantasy points in Baltimore! Lamar and Tua caught most of us off guard and hit big in many tournaments, but our picks cashed in too. Wentz, Goff, Carr, Murray, and Stafford were all served up on a platter right here and in the projection model. Well, back to the grind guys, on to Week 3! We stay in the kitchen at WinDaily, some spicy gunslingers coming right up. Remember, once you’re done with this quick read, check us out on our expert chat on Discord.

Let’s check out our NFL Week 3 DFS Quarterbacks!

Josh Allen @ MIA ($8,200 DraftKings/$9,000 FanDuel)

Captain Obvious… Yes, Josh Allen is good at football. But we figured out of respect for his talent, we would shed some light on him this week. Allen’s 600plus passing yards with 7 touchdowns in two games has put him at the top of the menu. This week he’ll battle Tagovailoa for control of the AFC East in Miami, who’s coming off an EA Madden-style game of 469 yards and 6 touchdowns. But Buffalo’s defense has been bulletproof, leading us to consider Tua’s time with the ball could be capped. Allen’s high floor/high ceiling has been invincible at quarterback and the safest to draft but it comes at a hefty price.

Jalen Hurts @ WSH ($7,600 DraftKings/$8,100 FanDuel)

Pay up for this green giant. Hurts has fully emerged as a dual-threat quarterback in 2022, with 577 yards thru the air and 147 on the ground with 4 total touchdowns in only his first two games. And the juicy matchups just keep getting better for Hurts in D.C. where the Commanders have allowed 808 total yards and 5 touchdowns to start the year. Oh, and I won’t forget to mention he’ll square off against the guy he replaced, Carson Wentz. This game will be epic for both teams given the scenario and as much as it can turn into a shootout, the Philly D could put Washington in a vice as we saw against the Vikings.

Kirk Cousins vs. DET ($6,700 DraftKings/$7,700 FanDuel)

Beam us up with Captain Kirk. Forget what we saw in Phila and check out Cousins in the driver’s seat hosting Detroit. In just 2 games the Lions dished out 65 points so this puts him in the perfect bounce back situation. Detroit can hold up their end of the bargain in scoring as well (72) giving Kirk a solid floor to produce value. He may draw less attention from the field too, so a tournament for Cousins wouldn’t be a bad idea on Sunday.

Joe Burrow @ NYJ ($6,600 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel)

Joe Cool 3 times the charm? We know he’s looked terrible. The O-line issues with 13 sacks, the 4 picks against Pittsburgh, its all on tape. But let’s give him the benefit of the doubt as he missed training camp because of an emergency appendectomy. And maybe with a few adjustments by the coaching staff, he can get back on track this week against a Jets secondary that can’t guard anybody. Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon are all healthy so we can get behind Burrow one more time. A GPP would be so sneaky but a slight risk for cash.

Matt Stafford @ ARI ($6,500 DraftKings/$7,700 FanDuel)

Run it back with Matt. Just as we predicted Stafford would show up ready to ball out against Atlanta last Sunday and delivered. Not much of an increase in price for a potential repeat performance in Arizona either so let’s get him in cash or a tourney why not. Divisional games can be a dog fight though, but those Arizona corners seem to be still wet a little behind the ears. His weapons are healthy, Allen Robinson made his debut in the endzone, but the run game is still under review. Even more reason for him to throw for the Dub.

Derek Carr @ TEN ($5,900 DraftKings/$7,100 FanDuel)

Dude where’s my Carr? At 0-2 the Raiders can’t catch a break. The Renfrow fumble cost them the game in O.T. but Carr still gave us a win in DFS at his modest price tag. Tennessee is still picking up the pieces after Monday night’s massacre by the Bills, and now on a short week head to Vegas. It may be another long day for the bottom ranked offense (28th) and defense (30th). Carr is averaging 18 fantasy points so far for the year which is a nice floor to have at that salary.

Week One is in the books, and it should have been a profitable one if you used our model with all of its DFS content! We went 4/5 on our quarterbacks write-up last week, Herbert, Hurts, Jackson, and Mayfield paid us off. But in this week’s main slate, we are missing the top three quarterbacks because of their schedules. It’s all good though, let’s keep it going, stay focused, and breakdown these QB’s. Remember they are the most important position in DFS, and can easily make or break your line-up. Once you’re done with this article don’t forget to check out our expert chat on Discord.

Let’s check out our NFL Week 2 DFS Quarterbacks!

K. Murray @ LV ( $7,500 DraftKings/$8,500 FanDuel )

Murray was out-gunned by Patrick Mahomes‘ record five touchdown passes on Sunday afternoon and was unable to keep up the pace with KC. An OK game… 22-34/193/2 with 29 on the ground, and zero turnovers most importantly. Kyler will take his frustration from the loss out on that Raider cornerbacks, who Justin Herbert picked apart like a rack of ribs last week. Murray’s scrambling ability out of the pocket will buy time for his receivers to get open and score some fantasy points with his legs, use him for cash.

J. Burrow @ DAL ( $6,600 DraftKings/$7,900 FanDuel )

Joe showed a ton of rust from his preseason appendectomy, throwing four picks and coughing up a fumble in the home opener. Regardless he saved face against The Steelers throwing for 338 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cincinnati will be heavily favored this Sunday playing the Cooper Rush-led Cowboys, but expect Burrow to look for redemption for his poor performance last week.

M. Stafford vs. ATL ( $6,300 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel )

The Rams offense and Stafford were a train wreck in the Thursday night kickoff. Buffalo and Josh Allen dismantled the defending champs at home on National TV, who appeared to be hungover from last season. Stafford will be fine and has a get-right game hosting Atlanta, who continue to struggle on defense in 2022. The brilliant mind of head coach Sean McVay will make the necessary adjustments (like drawing up a few Allen Robinson plays) this weekend and rally the champs.

D. Carr vs. ARI ( $6,200 DraftKings/$7,300 FanDuel)

Like his opponent Kyler Murray, Carr is also trying to bring his team into the win column. Arizona is already favored by six with a total of 52, so the game flow foresees the Raiders playing from behind, forcing Carr to air it out and keep up the pace. I like Carr for cash and GPP, huge discount with a lot of upside.

C. Wentz @ DET ( $5,800 DraftKings/$7,400 FanDuel )

Talk about a revenge game… Wentz was QB 3 for the week against his former coach Doug Pederson of the Jags. Even though he threw two interceptions, he still outperformed 29 other quarterbacks with 313 yards and 4 touchdowns with a 2-point conversion. Can he ball out back-to-back weeks in Detroit? The Lions did put up a fight with Philadelphia so Wentz may have to still put up some points. Still affordable too less than 6K on DK, and worth a lineup in a GPP.

J. Goff vs. WSH ( $5,400 DraftKings/$6,700 FanDuel)

Goff was decent last week for value, but nothing spectacular against Philadelphia’s dynamic duo at corners Darius Slay and James Bradbury. The Lions’ game script will almost every time be negative this season, forcing Jared’s arm. This week he has a much cushier match-up in the Commanders who had issues containing Christian Kirk. Detroit’s Amon RaSt. Brown will be an even bigger thorn for Washington, and Goff will deliver. Such a ballsy move though, I can’t trust him in Cash, for GPP only fellas.

Are we ready for some football?! I’m Joe DiCarlo, new hire to WinDailySports, and very excited to be a part of the team. The 2022-23 NFL season is finally here, so let’s get down to business and break down these quarterbacks for this Main Slate. There are so many ways to go this week at quarterback. With all the moves during this past off-season, we can pay up for the studs or pay down for value. Once you’re done with this article make sure to check out our expert chat on Discord

Let’s check out our NFL Week 1 DFS Quarterbacks!

JUSTIN HERBERT, LAC $7,600 DRAFTKINGS, $8,400 FANDUEL

Herbert gets another crack at the Raiders after losing to them in one of the most thrilling games of the 2021-22 season. He threw for 383 yards and three touchdowns in a shootout win-or-go-home game against Las Vegas. Herbert is up there in price across all of the DFS formats, but well worth his salary on a game in which he definitely will show up to play for. In 2021 he threw for over 5,000 yards with 38 touchdowns, even more of a reason for your QB in Week One as well as the season.

LAMAR JACKSON, BAL $7,300 DRAFTKINGS, $8,500 FANDUEL

Even though Lamar still hasn’t landed a new contract, he is nonetheless a team player and is here to compete. In Baltimore’s run-heavy offense, he is the true number-one option for the Ravens. Playing against one of the highest DVOA run defenses from 2021 in the New York Jets, Jackson will be a cheat code. With running back J. K. Dobbins still not ready for a full workload and backup Gus Edwards still on IR, Lamar will feast. Baltimore also being very thin at the wide receiver position to start the year also helps benefit Lamar by abandoning the pass and breaking out of the pocket for chinks of yardage. For cash games, he’s a lock.

KYLER MURRAY, ARI $7,200 DRAFTKINGS, $8,200 FANDUEL

Murray will be entering his fourth year in the league and each year has become more efficient, finishing the season with a 69 percent completion rate. He will be home to host Pat Mahomes and the Cheifs which already has an O/U of 53.5 and some shoot-out potential. KC was the most generous last season to opposing quarterbacks in fantasy points and may bleed out even more losing Tyrann Mathieu to free agency. Look for Kyler to use his legs even more than his arm in this one. The Chiefs play a lot of 4-3 and zone coverage that would allow plenty of yards on the ground to Murray.

JALEN HURTS, PHI $6,800 DRAFTKINGS, $8,000 FANDUEL

I am all over Phila this year for NFL DFS who have one of the softest schedules. Hurts is in The Motor City to beat up the Lions’ soft D, who was the red-headed stepson of the league last year. Now that the Eagles have signed a true alpha receiver in AJ Brown, opposing teams will have to respect their passing game. Hurts is another dual-threat quarterback who should have a field day this week while giving you 3X on his pricetag, a nice cash game option.

JAMEIS WINSTON, NO $5,300 DRAFTKINGS $6,700 FANDUEL

Before Jameis went down with an ACL injury in Week 8 last year, he was very efficient throwing for 14 touchdowns to only three picks. Should he be ready to start Week 1 he is at a bargain, especially on DK and a sneaky GPP play against Atlanta. The Falcons’ defense looks like it will be another dumpster fire this season that ranked at the bottom of every stat sheet in 2021. Winston could do 4 times his salary…LFG!

BAKER MAYFIELD, CAR $5,300 DRAFTKINGS, $6,600 FANDUEL

All eyes will be on Baker this Sunday as his former team of Clevland will welcome him to his new home in Carolina. I mean can we get any better of a “Revenge Game” narrative than this? The Browns and Mayfield parted ways this offseason after signing Deshaun Watson and trading him for a conditional fifth-round pick. After being tossed out of Cleveland like an old jockstrap the writing is on the wall for Baker to put his stamp on this game. It may be chalky but his salary is too juicy to scroll passed. GPP and cash games are doable for Mayfield.

JOE FLACCO, NYJ $4,800 DRAFTKINGS, $6,200 FANDUEL

So we may have another “Revenge Game” on the Main Slate for Week 1, “Jersey” Joe Flacco…all jokes aside I am serious about this play. If Zach Wilson does sit out in the Jets’ home opener, Flacco could ball out against his former team where he won MVP of Super Bowl 47. New York is loaded with young talent with Moore, G. Wilson, and Breece Hall. Baltimore is no slouch on defense though, but Joe is way too cheap to not hit value this week. I would stay away from him in cash games but awesome for GPP.

The quarterback is the most important position in sports, let alone football. Choosing the correct quarterback on your DFS lineup could be the difference between winning a tournament and walking out empty-handed. With that all out of the way, let’s get into the Quarterbacks DFS Picks for Cash Games, GPP and who to punt!

Week 17 Quarterback Cash Game Plays

Sam Darnold, NYJ @ BUF

DK ($5,000) FD ($7,200)

Starting off with a bit of a wild card here. Sam Darnold has been looking improved in his last five games with a 7:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio in that span. The Buffalo Bills are locked into the fifth seed for the playoffs and this game means absolutely nothing but pride for them. They have already ruled Shaq Lawson out and Darnold played decent against the Bills Week One while dealing with mono. Expect a great performance at this price and pay up for other skill positions in your lineup.

Tom Brady, NE @ MIA

DK ($6,000) FD ($7,600)

The naysayers will say that Brady doesn’t perform well in South Florida but I would counter that with a look at this Miami Dolphins team. This is a great chance for the Patriots offense to get back in stride with a weaker opponent heading into a probable bye week. Tom Brady had one of his better statistical games against this Dolphins team with 264 yards and two touchdowns. Expect a nice performance at another relatively cheaper price than normal for the quarterback slot.

Aaron Rodgers, GB @ DET

DK ($6,900) FD ($8,300)

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t turn the ball over with just three interceptions this season. The Lions have surpassed the Arizona Cardinals as the worst passing defense in the NFL and have six interceptions, the lowest in the league. Aaron Rodgers should be a gunslinger in this game and be around 300 yards as well. No need to discount double-check this decision.

Week 17 Quarterback GPP Plays

Russell Wilson, SF vs SEA

DK ($15,000) FD ($7,900)

With the division title on the line in Week 17 in a primetime matchup, there are very few quarterbacks I would want outside of Russell Wilson. Coming off an all-around stinker against the Arizona Cardinals, the Seahawks should come out on all cylinders against the 49ers. Yes, the numbers say the 49ers pass defense should limit him but the last three weeks do not look good for that defense.

Deshaun Watson, TEN vs HOU

DK ($6,700) FD ($8,000)

He currently is listed as questionable with a back injury but I wouldn’t be shocked if he is under center on Sunday afternoon. Going up against a hungry Titans team still competing for a playoff opportunity, Watson will have the energy to compete instead of “taking the week off”. He played well in the matchup these two teams had earlier in the season and I expect very similar numbers out of him as well.

Patrick Mahomes, LAC vs KC

DK ($ 7,200) FD ($8,600)

Patrick Mahomes had a bit of a struggle at points in this season but last year’s MVP has been heating up in his last three games. He played against top-level defenses in that span and should be easier for him with the Chargers in town. With the opportunity of a potential bye still looming, expect Patrick Mahomes to showcase his abilities on Sunday.

Week 17 Quarterback Fades

Jameis Winston, ATL vs TB

DK ($6,600) FD ($8,100)

Jameis is on the injury report ahead of this game with a thumb and knee injury. This Atlanta team is completely different than the one Winston saw a month ago, with three consecutive victories and a team that will not be changing regimes in the offseason. Without some of his favorite targets on the field due to injury, expect a stinker from Jameis to end this season.

Case Keenum, WAS @ DAL

DK ($4,500) FD ($6,800)

Do not buy into last week’s offensive performance from Case Keenum once Dwayne Haskins was carted off. This Cowboys team is somehow still competing for the NFC East crown and need to win this game and hope for an Eagles loss. Keenum had back-to-back stinkers before being demoted to the backup and that’s more of what I expect.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, NE @ MIA

DK ($5,800) FD ($7,400)

The fact that he is facing off against Bill Belichick and the New England defense is the main reason why Fitzpatrick is on this list. With a New England victory, they clinch a Wild Card bye and that will motivate the defense. I don’t necessarily believe he will turn into FitzTragic here, but I’m not believing in the Miami offense either.

Patrick Mahomes over 299.5 passing yards and Jameis Winston over 317.5 passing yards.

You can read about each of these quarterbacks above but as a summary, Jameis Winston should struggle without his main weapons against the Atlanta Falcons. Patrick Mahomes on the other hand should have a 300 yard day with the Chargers looking to end their miserable 2019 season.
