NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 4/14

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 4/14. The Model bounced back in a big way on Tuesday going 2-0. The Capitals absolutely shit-pumped the Flyers winning 6-1, including new guy Anthony Mantha adding a goal and an assist. The Panthers made us sweat a little bit before converting on their power play in OT and winning 3-2. That lean on the Caps/Flyers over also hit, however that was carried completely by the Caps there. On to Wednesday.

We have 6 games on the NHL slate tonight, including a 2:00 matinee in Minnesota. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

Dashboard Edges

  • Wild Money Line (-190) over the Coyotes
  • Jets Puck Line (-1.5, +138) and Money Line (-180) over the Senators
  • Canadiens Puck Line (-1.5, +163) over the Flames
  • Flames/Canadiens Under (5.5, -120)
  • Avalanche Puck Line (-1.5, +130) and Money Line (-182) over the Blues
  • Golden Knights Money Line (-210) over the Kings
  • Sharks Money Line (-180) over the Ducks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. It will be interested to see if the Flames go back to Markstrom again tonight after playing last night. They traded away their normal backup Rittich so if it isn’t Markstrom the Habs should have a good edge.

My Picks

Canadiens -1 (-105): These teams are both coming off wins against the Maple Leafs. The Canadiens accomplished this feat on Monday and the Flames did so last night. The Canadiens are the better team and have Jake Allen in net tonight. Both of these teams are even on ML units this season, however the Habs have a sizable edge on the puck line, so we ride this -1 line tonight.

Jets -1.5 (+146): We took this exact play on Monday and it let us down. The numbers suggested it was a good value play and there is no reason to believe it won’t bounce back and hit tonight. We are getting it at +146 as opposed to +138 on Monday and the Jets have covered this line in 3 of 7 matchups this season. We might have Brossoit instead of Hellebuyck, which is less than ideal, but I still like the Jets to do their thing. Let’s get a nice bounce back from Winnipeg tonight.

NHL Betting Picks Tuesday 4/13

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Tuesday 4/13. The Model had a little bit of a rough night going 1-2. The Leafs did not have the juice against Montreal losing 4-2, and after the Jets jumped out to a 2-0 the Sens scored 4 straight to win 4-2. If it wasn’t for an Avs empty netter for 100 feet we would have been lifeless. But that’s hockey, we trust the process and move on to today.

We have 6 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Rangers Puck Line (-1.5, +143) over the Devils
  • Capitals Money Line (-165) over the Flyers
  • Capitals/Flyers Over 6.5 (-105)
  • Bruins Money Line (+305) over the Sabres
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-159) over the Flames
  • Panthers Money Line (-115) over the Stars

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. The over in that Caps game is so enticing. Especially when breaking it down even further with the Caps hitting their over 60% of the time at home and the Flyers 70% on the road. However, when I take a team I don’t like to also take the over but if you all want to bet on some goals then take this over.

My Picks

Panthers ML (-115): The Panthers are a better team than Dallas this year and has their better goalie in net. There is a slight price edge here (Model price is around -120). Florida is +1.5u on the road, the only positive ML road team playing tonight, and the Stars are -6.3u at home, the second-lowest of the teams playing tonight. Both teams should have similar motivation/compete based on their standing position so we will take the better team tonight.

Capitals -1 (-107): The Flyers were sellers at the trade deadline trading away 2 depth players, while re-signing Scott Laughton and keeping him. The Caps were buyers trading for Anthony Mantha who will be making his debut on a line with Oshie and Backstrom. There should be a rejuvenated energy in the Caps locker room and a deflated on in the Flyers. The ML was a little juicy so we like this -1 number around even odds. The Caps would be 2-1-1 against Philly at the -1 line this season.

We’re back with a rare Tuesday Night Win Daily NHL Article! Tonight we have a medium-sized 6-game slate ahead of us. This is the second slate following the trade deadline so we will be seeing some new faces on some teams. With that in mind, there are lots of interesting plays to cover tonight, so let’s get right into it. Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 4/13 NHL slate, the slate begins at 7:00 pm ET, so don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

Keep in mind!!! FanDuel has updated their NHL tournaments, and they now include two UTIL spots which have replaced two winger spots. DraftKings has stayed the same but don’t forget last season they revamped the scoring and added stats bonuses, so if you’re new to NHL or haven’t played in a while, check out our live stream on the WinDaily YouTube by clicking here and read through the rules on the site of your choice!

4/13 NHL Stack Report

  1. Boston Bruins 1
    Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak (FanDuel: $23,000 | DraftKings: $24,600)
Finally, the line is back in full force following the Taylor Hall acquisition on deadline day. Although Hall himself is definitely a viable option on this slate, this line is just another beast when they play together. All three are very expensive but considering they’re going up against the worst team in the league; they’re a lock to break tonight’s slate. Boston has had some underwhelming performances over the past couple of weeks, but the top line has continued to produce despite the absence of Pastrnak, but now that he’s back, this line will be in a prime position to crush the Sabres tonight.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jack Ahcan (FD: $3,600 | DK: $2,500)
  2. Washington Capitals 1
    Wilson – Kuznetsov – Ovechkin (FanDuel: $20,100 | DraftKings: $18,100)
    – Philly’s defence has been trash and considering they opted to move pieces on deadline day. I think they’ve come to realize that this is not their year. Whereas on the other hand, the Capitals picked up a brand new piece in Anthony Mantha, one of the only bright spots on an otherwise abysmal Detroit team. It’ll be interesting to see how he factors into the Capitals line up, but in the meantime, Washington’s top line has been excellent as of late, and now that Tom Wilson has been move up top with Ovi and Kuzy, we now have a very affordable option at the wing to offset the prices of two of the league’s top players. The Caps hold one of the highest implied totals on the slate at 3.6, and the Flyers… well, after their most recent collapse against Buffalo, they’re still trying to figure out who to start in net.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Justin Schultz (FD: $4,300 | DK: $3,900)

    Honorable Mention(s): TOR1, DAL1

4/13 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best

  1. Tuukka Rask (FD: $7,700 | DK: $8,400)
  2. Andrei Vasilevskiy (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,200)

    Honorable Mention(s): Khudobin, Rittich, Samsonov

Worst

  1. Carter Hart (FD: $7,200 | DK: $7,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Ullmark, Blackwood

4/13 NHL Wild Card Targets

Jason Robertson (FD: $4,700 | DK: $5,900)
– Despite the off-game last game, Robertson has been absolutely firing on the top line this season and his current price is not reflective of how well the rookie has actually been playing. He’s been scoring at a break-neck pace and with his current play, he’s entered into the Calder Trophy conversation as we head towards the season’s end. Believe it or not, he is within striking distance of Kaprizov’s numbers. Roberston stacks well with Roope Hintz

Honorable Mention(s): Colton, Wood, Blackwell, Gourde, Hall, Mantha

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Auston Matthews

Winger Jason Robertson

Defence Justin Schultz

Goalie Tuukka Rask

NHL Betting Picks Monday 4/12

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Monday 4/12. The Model had yet another undefeated night going 2-0. The Capitals absolutely trounced the Bruins 8-1 and then the Isles bailed us out in OT to win 3-2 and cash both of those money lines. It is Trade Deadline day and the deals are flowing! Hall, Foligno, Rittich, Riley, and more to come as the day progresses. Can have an impact on games tonight with players not available because of these trades. The Model will obviously take that into effect so no need to fear.

We have 8 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-141) over the Canadiens
  • Jets Money Line (-182) over the Senators
  • Hurricanes Money Line (-375) over the Red Wings
  • Red Wings/Hurricanes Under 5.5 (-113)
  • Blackhawks Puck Line (-1.5, +210) and Money Line (-122) over the Blue Jackets
  • Wild Puck Line (-1.5, +180) and Money Line (-141) over the Blues
  • Golden Knights Money Line (-190) over the Kings
  • Sharks Money Line (-190) over the Ducks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight.

My Picks

Free Picks

Maple Leafs ML (-135): The Leafs are the class of the division. They are on a 6 game win streak and have gotten at least a point in 10 straight. Jack Campbell has yet to lose with Toronto. All of this points to Toronto possibly dropping a game tonight as they can’t keep winning right? However I am riding with the Leafs. This line shows Vegas slightly pricing the regression as The Model has the Leafs at -147. The Leafs hold a signficiant special teams edge and are +5.5u on the road with the Canadiens -4.8u at home. Let’s keep the streak buzzing and ride with the Leafs tonight.

Coyotes/Avalanche Over 5.5 (-120): Finally taking an over and not an under so we can root for some goals. These teams have been lighting the lamp against each other frequently hitting the over in their last 3 meetings and 4 of 7 this year. The Coyotes are playing Prosvetov in net and the Avs should have no problem getting a few by him tonight.

Premium Pick

Jets -1.5 (+135): The Jets have the highest puck line profit on the board tonight at +8.2u overall (+7u on the road). Out of 6 matchups this season the Jets have covered the puck line 3 times. The Sens are trading a couple important players during the deadline today which makes me like this even more. The Jets are also 6-6 (50% rate) hitting the puck line as a favorite this season which is tied for highest rate for teams over 10 games as a favorite. Hellebuyck is in net and we are riding the puck line tonight.

Welcome to the NHL DFS Man Advantage for a Monday night and we have an 8 game slate to break down!

This is going to be a much different article than usual for me because of the uncertainty surrounding the slate today. For those who don’t know, today is NHL trade deadline day and there is sure to be some movement of players throughout the league. Because of this, we will most likely see players be moved off teams playing tonight making lines a bit jumbled. I will give you the games I want to target tonight and some lines that I think will most likely stay intact. I will suggest you check in to the discord today before building lineups where myself and the other experts here will advise you of any trades and new line combos.

NHL DFS: Goaltenders

Cash Game Goalie:

Petr Mrazek ($8.4K/$8.5K)Alex Nedeljkovic ($8.2K/$8.5K) vs Detroit

Both of these goalies have been playing well for the Hurricanes and they have a home matchup with the worst team in their division tonight. Whoever starts this game for the Canes will most likely be the chalk goalie on the slate.

Other Cash Options: Philipp Grubauer ($8,500/$8,300), Connor Hellebuyck ($8,000/$7,700) – Seems too cheap for a matchup with Ottawa on FD, Marc-Andre Fleury ($8,100), Jack Campbell ($7,900/$8,700)

GPP Goalie:

Martin Jones ($7,800/$6,900)

Jones is just way too cheap on FD tonight for his home matchup with the Anaheim Ducks. Devan Dubnyk was traded to Colorado this weekend opening up the door for Jones to be the man in San Jose the rest of the way. In his last ten starts Jones has allowed just 2.5 goals per game, made 29.5 saves per game, and is averaging over 17 FPPG. He is great value on both sites tonight for should be a goalie at sub 10% ownership.

Other GPP Options: Cam Talbot ($7,900), Adin Hill ($7,100)/$6,700), Jake Allen ($7,700/$7,300), Kevin Lankinen ($7,800/$7,400)

NHL DFS: Slate Overview

Like I mentioned in the open, it’s trade deadline day which means we should see some shakeup of lines and players before tonight’s slate locks. One team that is sure to make a move to add a player is Colorado. I don’t think we need to worry about their top line being broken up, or even their second line, so they are two of the top plays on this slate. The Av’s top line is my favorite pay-up stack, or you can use them as a two-man with Cale Makar ($6,100/$5,700). Since this is a large slate I personally don’t like the idea of going with more than 3 skaters from a team because I want to get ownership on multiple games.

Toronto @ Montreal

Toronto is at Montreal tonight is this is a game I don’t mind stacking. If you don’t want to pay up for Colorado, then Toronto is the next best spot to pay up for. Auston Matthews ($9,200/$9,00) is coming off a hat trick game this past Saturday and does love these rivalry matchups with the Canadiens. This season alone, Matthews has 9 points and 24 shots on goal in just 5 games against the Habs. His entire line is in play tonight, as is the Leafs’ top power-play unit with John Tavares, Morgan Rielly, and Zach Hyman.

Vegas is in Los Angeles tonight with the Kings in sell mode. I think Vegas will add a piece of two today, but their lineup should remain unchanged, or at least the skater we want to use will. Both of their top lines and top power-play units are great stacks tonight and this is definitely a spot I plan to target tonight in my builds. Vegas’ first line is back in order with Chandler Stephenson back from suspension. Mark Stone ($6,600/$6,800) is underpriced to me on both sites and is in spot where he has faired well this season with a goal and 4 assists in five games against the Kings this season.

San Jose Sharks

As I mentioned in the goalie section San Jose has already traded away one piece and others may follow today. If everyone stays put in their top 6 stays put we have two great stacks there as well. Both of the top lines are good plays but their second unit is my favorite of the two. I think they outproduce the top unit tonight and they come at huge savings on both sites. As a stack, line 1 costs $17.9K on both sites, but line 2 will only cost $16K on Dk and only $14.2K on FD. They are close to a must-play on FD for me and a great option on DK as well.

I definitely want some exposure to both Winnipeg and Carolina in what should be soft matchups for both, especially if their opponents (Ottawa and Detroit) move some of their assets today. St. Louis 2 and Minnesota 1 are my favorite lines from that game.

Remember to check in later this afternoon to see what moves were made and what changes may have to be made to the lines I mentioned.

NHL DFS: Defensemen Rankings

** Remember to always try and pair your defenseman up with forwards. One-off dmen are not usually the best option**

Top Defensemen

  1. Jakob Chychrun (ARI)
  2. Alex Pietrangelo (VGK)
  3. Seth Jones (CBJ) – Love the way he’s been playing of late and the price tonight ,especially on FD ($4.8K)
  4. Cale Makar (COL)
  5. Dougie Hamilton (CAR) – I can’t pay $7.7K for him on DK, but he is a great play.
  6. Jared Spurgeon (MIN)
  7. Drew Doughty (LA)
  8. Shea Theodore (VGK)
  9. Brent Burns (SJ)
  10. Morgan Rielly (TOR)

Top Value Defensemen:

  1. Ryan Graves (COL) – Too cheap on FD
  2. TJ Brodie (TOR)
  3. Brayden McNabb (VGK) – Cheap way to get some Vegas exposure, been hot of late
  4. Vince Dunn (STL)
  5. Carson Soucy (MIN)
  6. Calvin de Haan (CHI)
  7. Brady Skjei (CAR)
  8. Joel Edmundson (MTL)
  9. Josh Manson (ANH)
  10. Alex Goligoski (ARI)

NHL Betting Picks Sunday 4/11

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Sunday 4/11. The Model had a decent 1-1 night. That under was toast after a 2-2 first period. The Blackhawks came back from down 2, scoring 4 unanswered and winning 4-3. We have some solid games on Master’s Sunday, let’s see what The Model like.

We have 7 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Flyers Puck Line (-1.5, +108) and Money Line (-240) over the Sabres
  • Avalanche Money Line (-375) over the Ducks
  • Rangers Puck Line (+1.5, -240) over the Islanders
  • Rangers/Islanders Under (5.5, -114)
  • Penguins Money Line (-182) over the Devils
  • Capitals Money Line (-107) over the Bruins
  • Predators Money Line (+100) over the Stars

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight.

My Picks

Islanders ML (-127): The Islanders lost to the Rangers on Friday 4-1. This seems like a good bounce back spot for the Isles. They are +8.8u on the ML at home this season (Rangers are -1.1u on the road). These teams are pretty evenly matched and that is why we like the Isles to take the second game of this series tonight.

Capitals ML (-120): Similar to the game above, the Caps lost to the Bruins 4-2 on Thursday. This seems like a good comeback spot for Washington here. The Bruins have Vladar is net after Swayman finally came down to earth last night. The Bruins have been raveged with injuries and have been generating no offense this season. Look for the Caps to take care of business today.

NHL Betting Picks Saturday 4/10

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Saturday 4/10. The Model had a rough one last night going 0-2. The Wild got pummeled by St. Louis 9-1, worst loss of the season for myself. Minnesota was never in that game. Then the Caps somehow did not cover the puck line. It was 5-2 with 5 minutes left but a coaches’ challenge and a lucky deflection by the Sabres had this one end 4-3 and didn’t cover the 1.5. Tough. But guess what, it’s Saturday and we have a lot of games to move on with.

We have 10 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Flyers Puck Line (+1.5, -245) over the Bruins
  • Panthers Money Line (-104) over the Stars
  • Hurricanes Money Line (-345) over the Red Wings
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-360) over the Senators
  • Blackhawks Puck Line (-1.5, +220) and Money Line (-124) over the Blue Jackets
  • Jets Money Line (+110) over the Canadiens
  • Wild Puck Line (-1.5, +235) and Money Line (-108) over the Blues
  • Oilers Money Line (-112) over the Flames

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. The Wild will be a play if Husso starts for the Blues. After last night’s debacle though I am not touching it until that is confirmed as Binnington looks pissed at the world right now and I do not want to bet against him.

My Picks

Hurricanes/Red Wings Under 5.5 (-105): These teams have some solid trends for the under today. Both teams average under 5.5 total goals/game (CAR: 5.47, DET: 5.32) and they hit their overs under 45% (CAR: 42.11%, DET: 35.71%). Under 5.5 would be 2-3 on their 5 matchups this season and we like the chances that gets to .500 today.

Blackhawks ML (-124): Chicago needs a win tonight and Columbus just lost their best defenseman (Werenski) for the season. Columbus has been an underachiever this season while the Blackhawks have been doing better than expected. Chicago has also won 4 of 6 meetings this season and we like them tonight.

We’re back with another Saturday Night Win Daily NHL Article! Tonight we have a medium sized 8-game slate ahead of us. With that in mind, there are lots of interesting plays to cover tonight as well as some sneaky under-owned plays, so let’s get right into it. Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 4/10 NHL slate, the slate begins at 7:00 pm ET, so don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates!

4/10 NHL Stack Report

  1. Carolina Hurricanes 2
    Niederreiter – Trocheck – Necas (FanDuel: $15,700 | DraftKings: $17,000)
Wow, we might have one of the best DFS stacks I’ve ever seen. We have a matchup here between the league’s first placed Canes and the Central Divison’s last-placed Red Wings. The Red Wings are coming off a 7-1 beatdown at the hands of the Predators, and Carolina is coming off a 3-0 shutout of the Florida Panthers. What’s amazing about this line, in particular, is that they are playing out of their minds, and their prices are still very, very reasonable (steal on FanDuel). I can’t ask for much more out of this line given the consistent success we’re seeing out of them, and considering they’ll be up against one of the worst defences in the league and one of the worst goalies in the league, this pick seems like a no-brainer.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Dougie Hamilton (FD: $6,400 | DK: $7,500)
  2. Toronto Maple Leafs 1
    Galchenyuk – Matthews – Marner (FanDuel: $20,100 | DraftKings: $20,300)
    – We’re in another divisional first vs worst matchup in tonight’s matchup between the Leafs and the Senators. For anyone who has watched a game between these two teams, nothing is off-limits. This season alone, we’ve seen 5-goal comebacks, goalies getting their first NHL win, 7 goal thrashings, OT thrillers and 3 goal snoozers. We’ve really seen it all with these two teams, and we enter tonight with the season series between the two teams at 4-3 favouring the Leafs. Toronto enters tonight on a five-game streak, with their goalie on an NHL record 10-straight win to start the season. Ottawa is currently on a three-game losing streak. The aforementioned Leafs goalie, Jack Campbell, has stood on his head, and the Leafs have played like a different beast with him between the pipes. Regardless, stats-wise, this game is a joke. The Leafs are third in the league in goals (highest implied goal total), while Ottawa is dead last in goals against and near last in shots allowed per game. They have the second-best odds on the slate behind our other top line and are poised to make it six straight wins tonight. Coach Sheldon Keefe shook up the lines a bit after hearing the news that William Nylander will be out for about a week. With that, Galchenyuk will now get an opportunity on the top line, and for us, that means we get a top-line winger alongside Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner for absolute peanuts, sounds great to me!
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Morgan Rielly (FD: $5,200 | DK: $5,100)

    Honorable Mention(s): EDM1, MIN1

4/10 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best

  1. Jack Campbell (FD: $8,700 | DK: $8,400)
  2. Cam Talbot (FD: $8,300 | DK: $7,700)

    Honorable Mention(s): Hellebuyck, Reimer, Vasilevskiy

Worst

  1. Jonathan Bernier (FD: $6,600 | DK: $6,800)
Honorable Mention(s): Husso, Dubnyk, Primeau, Murray

4/10 NHL Wild Card Targets

Andrew Copp (FD: $4,100 | DK: $4,700)
– Copp has just been firing as of late, and I’d be remiss to ignore his current run of form. On top of that, he’ll be up against a Montreal side who is fielding an AHL goalie between the pipes due to injury troubles. Winnipeg as a team is on the way up, and Montreal is trending downwards after dropping their last two games. Copp himself has seen an upgrade to the second line following Blake Wheeler’s absence due to injury. I will be taking advantage of Copp seeing extra minutes tonight against an inexperienced goalie. Copp also sees powerplay time alongside defenceman Neal Pionk. The two work well together in a stack.

Honorable Mention(s): Dach, Kaprizov, Walker, Iafallo, Colton, Brown

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Auston Matthews

Winger Andrew Copp

Defence Dougie Hamilton

Goalie Jack Campbell

NHL Betting Picks Friday 4/9

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Friday 4/9. The Model had a very solid 2-1 night last night with the under 6 hitting easily in the Hurricanes 3-0 win over the Panthers. The Lightning also handled their puck line winning 6-4 over Columbus. Washington did not look good against Boston losing 4-2 and scoring their only 2 goals on a 5-on-3. 2-1 with both wins at plus money is a solid day nonetheless. 7-2-1 in the last 3 days let’s keep the good fortunes going.

We have 7 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Capitals Money Line (-275) over the Sabres
  • Penguins Money Line (-185) over the Devils
  • Islanders Money Line (-137) over the Rangers
  • Wild Puck Line (-1.5, +245) and Money Line (-113) over the Blues
  • Avalanche Money Line (-360) over the Ducks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight.

My Picks

Wild ML (-115): Coming off a beat down of the best team in the NHL, I look for Minnesota to ride this momentum into a big game against St. Louis. The Blues also had a big win in their last game against Vegas and have looked better of late. Kahkonen is in net for the Wild who hasn’t played in a little while but has had a great rookie season so far. Look for him to play well to try and earn that starting job back.

Capitals -1.5 (+110): The Sabres are a very bad team and the Capitals are a very good team. This is pretty simple, the ML is -290 so we are getting good value for the -1.5 at plus money. Washington has covered the puck line in their last 2 meetings, 3 times total this season out of 6 matchups. Buffalo doesn’t have Taylor Hall, Jack Eichel, or their better goalie (Ullmark) playing today. Coming off a loss last night look for the Caps to take out their anger on Buffalo today.

NHL Betting Picks Thursday 4/8

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Thursday 4/8. The Model had another undefeated night going 1-0-1. The Maple Leafs took care of business against Montreal winning 3-2. And then there was the under in the Sens/Oilers game. Looked great all game. 1 goal in the 1st. 2 goals in the 2nd. And then Leon Draisaitl decided to ruin my night and get the 6th goal on an empty net with 0.2 seconds left. 0.2!!! 2 tenths of a second. The game was over. He couldn’t give me my glory. Safe to say I didn’t sleep well last night. Whatever. On to today.

We have 10 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Lightning Puck Line (-1.5, +123) and Money Line (-210) over the Blue Jackets
  • Islanders Puck Line (-1.5, +135) over the Flyers
  • Capitals Money Line (-118) over the Bruins
  • Jets Money Line (+110) over the Canadiens
  • Devils Puck Line (-1.5, +195) and Money Line (-129) over the Sabres
  • Rangers Puck Line (-1.5, +190) over the Penguins
  • Oilers Money Line (-186) over the Senators
  • Oilers/Senators Under (6.5, -120)
  • Red Wings/Predators Under (5, +117)
  • Blackhawks Money Line (-104) over the Stars

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. There are a couple leans today that I don’t like enough to make official plays but if you want to sprinkle or throw a free bet on them (like I did with this first one), feel free. The Canadiens -127 have a big edge on The Model which prices them at -143. I also like the Rangers -130 and the Flyers +150, but again not enough to make official plays.

My Picks

Free Picks

Capitals ML (-115): The Bruins are banged up right now with McAvoy out and rolling out their 4th string goalie tonight in Swayman. The Caps are +4u at home this season and Boston is -2u on the road. They only have a slight edge on the BetMGM ML at -115 but The Model prices them around -135, which is why we like them tonight.

Lightning -1.5 (+128): The Lightning have yet to cover a puck line against Columbus. The same Columbus who has looked pretty terrible against everyone not named the Lightning this season. It’s hard to figure out exactly why Columbus plays them so well. Tonight I think a regression is in order. Considering the -1.5 number against Columbus was -110 and +100 in the last two games, I think we are getting value at +128.

Premium Pick

Hurricanes/Panthers Under 6 (+100): True life: I’m addicted to betting under 6 at plus odds. I didn’t learn my lesson from yesterday so I’m ready to get burned today. These teams just hit 7 goals in their last meeting but we get the good goalie matchup with Nedeljkovic and Driedger. These teams only hit under 6 in 1 out of 5 meetings so far this season, but pushed on 2 others. Neither of these teams average over 6 total goals/game this year with CAR at 5.53 and FLA at 5.83. Let’s ride this tonight and hate ourselves later.
