Happy Forsberg Tuesday!

It’s time for another big NHL DFS slate with nine games on the schedule for Tuesday. There are a few huge games on the slate, but ironically I am not sure how I want to play them. Carolina is on the second night of a back-to-back in Tampa Bay, the Rangers head into Pittsburgh who put up 11 goals on Sunday, and Colorado heads into Calgary for a potential Western Conference final preview.

Nashville is on one of the best spots on the slate on Tuesday at home against Ottawa. I will also have a new section for power-play stacks for Tuesday’s slate since I found two teams that are in great spots.

NHL DFS: Goalies

Even with nine games on the slate, goaltending is actually pretty shallow on Tuesday. There are two great options, but they are the highest-priced goalies (on DK). Whoever is in net for Florida and Minnesota are the top plays, but I don’t think I will go there.

My two favorite plays should surprise no one if you’ve been here all season. Juuse Saros and John Gibson are both in different situations but both should have good nights. Ottawa’s offense is not one that should intimidate anyone the only issue could be they don’t shoot enough so Saros will need to keep it to one or zero goals for value. Gibson is at home against the Stars on Tuesday. Dallas is scoring just over 3 goals and taking 31 shots on goal per game in their last twelve games.

In that same game, Jake Oettinger is also a good play as Anaheim is not a top offense and doesn’t pose a huge threat offensively. Jeremy Swayman is confirmed to start for Boston against Toronto, and while I do like a game stack here, Swayman is one of the best GPP goalies on the slate.

Other Options: Semyon Varlamov, Antii Raanta

NHL DFS: Slate Overview

Stacks to build around:

Two teams that are in the best spots on Tuesday are Minnesota and Nashville. Both teams are at home and have much inferior competition on the schedule.

Minnesota’s top line is really the only one I am interested in there. Kirill Kaprizov is expensive, but he has six points in his last five and averaging nearly four shots on goal per game. Ryan Hartman and Mats Zuccarello are great complementary pieces to Kaprizov. If you want to use dman for a stack here, all three of Jonas Brodin, Jared Spurgeon, and Matthew Dumba are the way to go.

As for Nashville, their top line is always in play for me. Filip Forsberg has nine points (5 goals) and 17 shots on goal in his last five games. Matt Duchene has six points in his last five, and Ryan Johansen or Mikael Granlund can complete a three-man stack. On defense, Roman Josi is the top and obvious play, but otherwise, Alexandre Carrier and Jeremy Lauzon are cheaper options.

Nashville’s third line has also been playing extremely well of late also. Tanner Jeannot has 2 goals and 2 assists in his last five but is really only playable on DK. Both Yakov Trenin and Colton Sissons are two other value plays to use with Jeannot.

Game Stacks:

With Ilya Sorokin likely out for the Islanders, a Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Islanders game stack is certainly an option on Tuesday. Both teams’ top lines are great plays and work well together pricing-wise. New York’s top line of Brock Nelson centering Anthony Beauvillier and Anders Lee is semi-expensive but has been hot. Both Nelson and Lee have seven points each in their last five games. Beauvillier is cheaper but has not been playing as well. Both Noah Dobson and Ryan Pulock are solid defensemen but will cost you. Andy Greene is a decent cheap option because he is reliant on blocked shots.

Looking at Columbus, their top line is also the best play. Patrik Laine is the one expensive piece and their best play. Both Jack Roslovic and Gustav Nyquist are $3K and under on DK and make this a good value line stack. On defense, Zach Werenski is the best play, but Andrew Peeke and Jake Bean are better value pieces as they are not point reliant. Line two for Columbus is also a good option on this slate as well.

Another game I am looking to stack is the Bruins and Leafs. For me this is fairly simple, I want to stack Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner with a cheap dman like Holl or Brodie to balance the stack. For Boston, their third line of Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, and Craig Smith is a good value. If you can make it work, the B’s second like with Taylor Hall and David Pastrnak being centered but Erik Haula is the better stack.

Power-Play Stacks

Florida is, as usual, one of the top overall teams on the slate. I am interested in the Panthers’ power-play on this slate especially. Montreal has allowed 12 power-play goals in their last 13 games and Floriday has one of the top units in the NHL. The Panthers are now using a five-forward first unit now with Barkov and Huberdeau being the top plays on this unit. Claude Giroux was recently acquired and is both on the top line and top PP unit. Sam Reinhart and Anthony Duclair round out this unit. Running any three of these guys together will be my top overall play, but you should include one of Barkov or Huberdeau in any Florida PP stack.

Now, for a cheaper, lesser owned stack. Dallas has allowed nine power-play goals in their last 12 games making Anaheim’s power-play units a great value play. Derek Grant, Ryan Getzlaf, and Trevor Zegras is my preferred build for this stack. Jamie Drysdale and Gerald Mayhew round out the five-man unit.

Welcome to today’s NHL Picks for PrizePicks, where we’ll be going through the slate and trying to find some easily attainable props.  At first glance, it’s a tough slate to tread through so I’d recommend playing on the lighter side tonight.

Not already a PrizePicks member?  Sign up today using the button below and you’ll get a bonus match of 100% up to $100.  And to top it off, we’ll give you a free month of Win Daily Gold ($50 value).

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

NHL Picks

Patrick Kane – 1.5 Points

One of the games tonight that really has my interest is the Sabres/Blackhawks game.  Neither team at this point has any hope of making the playoffs and both have been rather poor defensively on the year.  To start, the Sabres should have Dustin Tokarski in the net tonight.  While he had a stretch of decent hockey for 2 games, on the year he has a 3.07 GAA.  He’s given up less than 3 goals just twice in his last 8 games.

Tokarski’s going to give up some goals, and if he does Patrick Kane will be a part of the reason why.  If we look at just the month of March, Kane has 8 multi-point games out of 12.  Half of the games he didn’t have a multi-point game were against the Bruins, one of the best teams in the league.  My prediction for Kane tonight is a goal and an assist.  So I’m going with the Over on the 1.5 points prediction that PrizePicks is giving us.

Kevin Lankinen – 2.5 Goals Allowed – Over

With MAF shipped off to Minnesota, it should be Lankinen in net tonight for the Blackhawks.  On the year he has a pretty poor 3.50 GAA and a sub .890 save %.  If we look at his recent play, it just hasn’t been very good.  Over his last 6 games, he’s given up 4 goals twice and 5 goals twice.  All we need out of the Sabres 3 goals tonight.

While they aren’t a powerhouse offense, especially with Eichel gone, they still have guys like Skinner and Thompson who are playing very well.  Between the two of them, they should be able to find the net a couple of times with the rest of the team accounting for another goal.  This game should be a fantasy haven tonight, offensively speaking.  I’m going with the Over on this 2.5 Goals Allowed prop from PrizePicks.

Quinn Hughes – .5 Assists – Over

This Canucks/Blues game is another one where I expect to see some offense, especially from the Canucks side of this one.  The Blues have had some challenges with their goaltending of late and I think we can take advantage of that tonight.  Husso should be in net and although he has a great 2.43 GAA on the year, it’s not indicative of how he’s been playing lately.

He gave up 5 goals to the Hurricanes on Saturday, the second time in 3 games he’s given up 5 goals.  He’s also given up at least 3 goals in 7 of his last 9 games.  He’s struggling right now.  With Hughes, we’re getting a solid offensive Defenseman.  On the year he’s close to the 50 assist mark with 48.  Josi, Fox, Makar, and Letang are the only Defensemen with more assists than him this season.  Look for him to make it 3 straight with an assist tonight.

Tyler Myers – 1.5 Shots – Over

Tyler Myers has been firing at will of late.  Over his last 5 games, he’s had multiple shots on goal 4 times.  Of the 4 picks I’ve laid out today, this is the one that I’m the least confident in.  That said, he’s on the ice for more than 23 minutes per game.  If history repeats itself, he should get to that 2 shot number today.

Whether it’s for PrizePicks or DFS, make sure you’re reading all of our great NHL content.

Good luck and hope to see some green bars tonight!

Welcome the NHL DFS Man Advantage for a Monday night. This week have a five-game slate with teams like Edmonton, Carolina, and St. Louis on the slate. There is also a re-match from Saturday night that is intriguing when it normally wouldn’t be. Also on this slate, we have teams like Arizona and Buffalo on the second night of a back-to-back.

NHL Bets:

Check discord on Monday for any potential bets. With trades being made some lines will most likely change.

NHL DFS: Goalies

Goaltending is strange tonight because the goalies from the teams you’d want to play have not been playing well, so while I won’t talk you out of Frederick Andersen or Ville Husso I won’t be writing them up. There are some other, less expensive, options on this slate that might give you an upper hand on the competition if they come through.

  • Thatcher Demko ( @ StL)- I know I am typically alone on this hill since many seem to pick on him whenever they can but I will not. Demko has been up and down most of the season and he is in the middle of another stint like that now. Since the start of March (11 games), Demko is allowing 2.8 goals per game and making 29.5 saves per game to go with his .913 save %.
  • Dustin Tokarski ( @ Chi) – Since Craig Anderson played on Sunday it is safe to assume Tokarski gets the nod in ChiTown on Monday. Tokarski has been better than good in his last three starts with only four goals allowed, averaging 30 saves per game, and a shutout.
  • Philipp Grubauer ( @ LA) – Another goalie that many will never play, myself included, but he has been decent of late. In his last five starts, Grubauer is 3-2 with only 3 goals allowed per game. Listen, this isn’t a cash game play, or even a Single Entry type play, but if you want to take a risk in a GPP on a goalie, you could do worse than Grubauer on Monday.

NHL DFS: Slate Overview

There are a few top lines that I want to build around on Monday, and I am sure they will not surprise anyone

  • Edmonton L1 – Kane – McDavid – Yamamoto Dmen: Bouchard, Ceci, Kulak
  • Carolina L1 – Teravainen – Aho – Jarvis Dmen: DeAngelo, Sjkei, Pesce
  • Washinton L1 – Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Johansson Dmen: Carlson, Orlov, Schultz

After you decide which line you want to build around, you will need some value pieces to make it work.

Seattle Kraken

Seattle has been averaging 3 goals per game and 32 shots on goal per game in their last ten. I know they aren’t a sexy pick to use on this slate, but there isn’t much to go within the value tier on stacks on Monday. There are a good amount of top lines we should want to get exposure to and Seattle allows that. The Kraken’s top line of Alex Wennberg centering Jared McCann and Jordan Eberle is the best option from Seattle. Now, there is a slight chance that Jaden Schwartz returns to the lineup on Monday so we need to watch for news of that. Their stats don’t jump off the screen at me, but they combine for just $10.3K on DraftKings as a full unit. For more savings, you can replace McCann (highest priced player) with a defenseman from Seattle. Vince Dunn is the best option, but both Adam Larsson and Carson Soucy are near min price on DK and have been playing well.

Yanni Gourde has been the Kraken’s best player of late with four goals in his last five games. Gourde centers the second line with Ryan Donato and Karson Kuhlman. Both are near min price on both sites, but I would prefer to stack Gourde with Dunn and either Eberle or Wennberg for a power-play stack.

Other top-line stacks:

Buffalo L1: Tuch – Thompson – Skinner Dmen: Dahlin, Jokiharju, Samuelsson

Vancouver L2: Pettersson – Horvat – Boeser Dmen: Ekman-Larsson, Schenn, Hughes

Chicago L1: DeBrincat – Strome – Kane Dmen: de Haan, Seth Jones, McCabe

St. Louis L3: Barbashev – Schenn – Kyrou Dmen: Parayko, Faulk, Leddy

St. Louis L1: Saad – O’Reilly – Perron

Los Angeles L2: Moore – Danault – Arvidsson Dmen: Durzi, Stetcher, Maata

Value Stacks:

Buffalo L2: Asplund – Mittlestadt – Olofsson

Chicago L2: Kubalik – Toews – Raddysh

Edmonton L3: Brassard – Nugent-Hopkins – Puljujarvi

Arizona L2: Crouse – Boyd – Kessel Dmen: Mayo, Gostisbehere, Dineen

Carolina L3: Niederreiter – Staal – Fast

Los Angeles L3: Vilardi – Byfield – Kupari

It’s the Sunday Funday version of the NHL Picks for PrizePicks.  We have a really nice slate of NHL hockey with 7 games on tap. We’re on a nice roll as we went 4 for 4 yesterday.

Not already a PrizePicks member?  Sign up today using the button below and you’ll get a bonus match of 100% up to $100.  And to top it off, we’ll give you a free month of Win Daily Gold ($50 value).

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

NHL Picks

Carter Hart – 3.5 Goals – Over

Carter Hart has had an extremely up and down season.  Mostly down though.  If we take a look at this recent play, it’s been pretty bad.  He’s given up at least 4 goals in 5 of his last 6 games.  That’s pretty bad!  Tonight he gets a tough matchup vs. a Nashville team scoring more than 4 goals per game.  My only concern is here that Hart gets pulled early for giving up too many goals, too quickly!

Karel Vejmelka – 3.5 Goals – Over

There was a stretch earlier in the year when Vejmelka got called up to the NHL where he was saving just about everything.  Those days are long gone!  He’s now given up at least 3 goals in 5 straight games, with the last 2 being over 4 in each.  The matchup tonight vs. the Jets isn’t a good one as they’re scoring over 4 goals per game during the month of March.  Look for the Jets to get to Vejmelka early and often.

Mika Zibenajad – .5 Assists – Over

The Rangers are jockeying for playoff position at this point in the year.  Much of that is thanks to the great play of Mika Zibanejad.  Over his last 3 games, he has 5 assists.  Tonight, the Rangers get to take on a Sabres team giving up about 3 goals per game over the last month.  The Rangers have a projected goal total of 3.75 tonight.  If they do get to near that 4 number, Zibenajad will be a big reason why.  He gets at least 1 assist tonight and over the .5 PrizePicks gave us.

Jake Guentzel – .5 Assists – Over

Another team with a great matchup on paper tonight is the Penguins.  Detroit has been atrocious over the last couple of months as they’re giving up more than 4 goals per game.  With Guentzel playing alongside Crosby on both the top line and power-play unit, he stands a great chance to get an assist tonight.  I’m going with the Over on this prop from PrizePIcks.

Whether it’s for PrizePicks or DFS, make sure you’re reading all of our great NHL content.

Good luck and hope to see some green bars come Sunday night!

Welcome, everyone! What a week of NHL we’ve had! We are back with another weekend slate, this one like most have different games on DraftKings and FanDuel, so be sure to check when your slate locks! For tonight’s 3/27 NHL slate, as mentioned, we have a smaller five (7) gamer and the slate begins at 6:00 pm ET (5:00 pm ET on DraftKings). Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

3/27 NHL Stack Report

1. Toronto Maple Leafs 1
Marner – Matthews – Bunting
Despite the fact that the Leafs are really struggling to put together wins as of late, this line is certainly not the problem. Especially when Auston Matthews is leading the league in goals and in the top ten in points. Last night, this line played a role in both goals, despite the 4-2 loss to the Habs. This line has been extremely consistent as of late and are always good for a goal or two. All three of the top liners for the Leafs see power play time with Auston and Mitch on the first unit and Bunting on the second. It should come as no surprise that the Leafs are coming into tonight with an implied total of 3.7 goals, even against a high scoring team like the Panthers. Lets not forget that the Panthers are starting Spencer Knight between the pipes, his inconsistency trouble could give the Leafs goalies a run for their money!
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Morgan Rielly

2. Winnipeg Jets 1
Connor – Dubois – Wheeler
We’re finally at the most lopsided game of the slate and yes it’s the late hammer. Winnipeg has been ok this season but currently sit just outside a playoff spot. Fortunately for them, they’re up against the Arizona Coyotes who have consistently been THE WORST team in the NHL this season, yes, worse than Montreal, and worse than Seattle. The Coyotes have been worse than any other NHL franchise this season. They also have the stats to prove it, they sit dead last or near last in almost every offensive and defensive stat category and they’ve currently embarked on a four-game losing skid as they enter Winnipeg’s home arena tonight. Winnipeg has seen a lot of success out of their top line, especially from Kyle Connor who registered two points in their last game (including a slick short-handed goal). With his last two point game, Connor currently sits at 10 points over his last five games and that fact coupled with the Jets implied total sitting at over four, it’s really hard for me to avoid the Jets in tonight’s slate.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Josh Morrissey

Honorable Mention(s): COL1 (Nichushkin-MacKinnon-Rantanen), NYR1 (Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano) (DK Only), PIT1 (Guentzel-Crosby-Rust) (DK Only)

3/20 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Connor Hellebuyck
  2. Juuse Saros
    Honorable Mention(s): Darcy Kuemper

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Karel Vejmelka
Honorable Mention(s): Jon Gillies, Carter Hart (DK Only)

3/27 NHL Wild Card Targets

Cole Caufield
– We’ve discussed Caufield’s comeback season in previous articles but the fact remains that he just doesn’t seem to slow down. Last night he registered another point giving him 9 points over his last seven games (6 of which were goals). Although Montreal is coming into tonight as an underdog, it’s really hard to tell which team has been worse between the Canadiens and the Devils. Bottom line is that Caufield will have his opportunities to score tonight as the Devils defense is really bad and their goalie Jon Gillies holds a sub .900 SV% and a 3-10-1 record.
Honorable Mention(s): Yegor Sharangovich, Joel Farabee, Mark Giordano, Andrew Copp (DK Only)

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Auston Matthews

Winger Valeri Nichushkin

Defenseman – Cale Makar

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck

We’re back with some PrizePicks NHL action for tonight’s 9 game slate. We have some attackable props for the NHL tonight that I really love.

Not already a PrizePicks member?  Sign up today using the button below and you’ll get a bonus match of 100% up to $100.  And to top it off, we’ll give you a free month of Win Daily Gold ($50 value).

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

NHL Picks for PrizePicks

Auston Matthews – .5 Goals – Over

This seems as close to a lock as there is right now.  Matthews has goals in 6 of his last 7 games, with the one game without one being his last game.  Tonight he gets a great matchup vs. a pretty poor defensive team in the Montreal Canadiens.  The Canadiens are giving up more than 3.6 goals per game over the past month and if the Maple Leafs do score some goals tonight (they should), Matthews will be at the front of the line scoring goals.

Alex Ovechkin – .5 Goals – Over

The climb up the top of the All Time goal scoring list continues as Ovi scored another one last night.  Tonight he gets to face a Devils team giving up almost 4 goals per game over the last month.  Ovechkin has goals in 5 of 6 games now.  After tonight we’ll be saying 6 of 7 games as he scores at least one goal.

Anthony Duclair – .5 Points – Over

Absolutely love this spot tonight for the Panthers.  In my Saturday Slapshot article today, I wrote up Duclair and his linemates as one of my top stacks.  Duclair has points in in 3 straight games and has a great chance to keep that streak going tonight.  I’m going with the Over for Duclair as he should get at least an assist on the box score.

James Reimer – 2.5 Goals Allowed – Under

Reimer is one of my favorite goalies tonight.  He’s been pretty solid of late and is getting a matchup vs. a Ducks team that has been brutal on the offensive side of things.  Over the last month, the Ducks are scoring just 2.15 goals per game.  That’s not going to cut it and with Reimer’s solid play of late, I’m going to side with the Under on this PrizePicks number of 2.5 goals.  A shutout isn’t out of the question tonight.

Daniel Vladar – 2.5  Goals Allowed – Over

The Flames are on the back end of a back to back set tonight and will turn the crease over to Vladar.  Vladar has only given up 2 goals a piece in each of his last 2 games, but prior to that he was struggling.  He’s coming into this game facing an Oilers team that has been showing some signs of life.  The top line of McDavid, Kane, and Yamamoto has been really good and should be able to put up a couple of goals tonight.  That would leave another one for the Draisaitl and his friends.  Edmonton puts up at least 3 goals tonight!

Whether it’s for PrizePicks or DFS, make sure you’re reading all of our great NHL content.

Good luck and hope to see some green bars come Sunday night!

Welcome to latest edition of the Saturday Slapshot where we’ll be focusing on tonight’s 9 game main slate of NHL on DraftKings and FanDuel.  Teams are now at the point where they are jockeying for playoff positions.  Thankfully, hockey is not like the NBA and we rarely see major players sitting out in the tail end of the season

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

Goaltending

James Reimer ($7.9K DK/$7.2k FD) vs. Anaheim Ducks – Reimer is far from a sexy name, but the man’s been getting the job done and won’t cost us an arm and a leg, especially if you’re playing NHL DFS on FanDuel where he’s only $7.2k.  If we look at Reimer’s play of late, it hasn’t been that bad as he back-to-back wins with one of them coming against a solid Flames team. Reimer hasn’t allowed more than 3 goals in more than a month and with the Ducks’ offense now anemic, he stands a good chance of being one of the higher scoring goalies on the night.

Sergei Bobrovsky ($8.5k DK/$8.8k FD) vs. Ottawa Senators – If you find yourself with some extra cash laying around tonight, Bob should be your guy.  He’s riding a 4 game winning streak and gets to face a Senators team scoring just 2.3 goals per game over the past month.  With how powerful of a lineup the Panthers have built, I just don’t see a scenario tonight where Bob doesn’t get at least the W tonight.  He’s probably more suited though for cash games if you’re a cash game player.

Stacks

We have some pretty clear spots for offense tonight.  Toronto is in as good of a spot as they can be against a Canadiens team giving up more than 3.5 goals per game over the past month.  The top line for Toronto will be extremely popular tonight, and rightfully so.  I’m not going to write them up as a stack because they are an obvious play.  They are just super expensive.  My goal with my top 3 stacks tonight will be to find a way to be a little different than your competition in tournaments.

Montreal 1 (Suzuki, Caufield, Anderson) + Petry vs. Toronto

This game between 2 historic Canadian franchises has the makings of a high-scoring slate.  We already know what the Maple Leafs can do on offense, but did you know that of all the teams playing tonight, no team is giving up more goals per game than the Leafs over the past month?  That’s right, and tonight they turn over the crease to Erik Kallgren who met Mr. Regression in his last NHL start.

This top-line for Montreal is pretty good and pretty cheap.  MSL has really tapped into the talent of Caufield as he has 4 goals in his last 5 games and has a very bright future in the NHL.  The combo of Suzuki and Caufield will cost just a shade over $10k over on DK tonight.  That same combo has combined for over 30 scoring chances in their last 5.  They may go overlooked on the slate tonight, but they should do well.

Minnesota 1 (Hartman, Kaprizov, Zuccarello) vs. Columbus

Absolutely love this spot for the Wild tonight.  The Wild really haven’t been blowing away the competition of late, but they are in a great spot tonight.  Columbus is giving up 4 goals per game over the past month and will more than likely have Berube in net tonight.  On the year, Berube has a 3.25 GAA a the NHL level.  Although he has a small sample size, he doesn’t have a single game giving up less than 3 goals.

My core with the Wild tonight will be Hartman and Kaprizov as Zuc is in a little bit of a funk with his game offensively right now.  Hartman and Kaprizov have combined for 6 goals and 10 points in their last 5 games.  They should be able to put up a few goals tonight against a poor defensive team.

Florida 2 (Huberdeau, Duclair, Bennett) vs. Ottawa

I’ve actually used Forsberg this season more than I’ve stacked against him.  He’s been extremely solid this year.  That said, he’s in for a tough task tonight.  This Florida team is stacked from top to bottom.  Their top 3 lines can all take over a game.  Tonight I’m going to go with their second line.  Although their top line is one of the best in the game, Barkov is expensive and isn’t exactly playing his best hockey of late.

This second line has been really good.  Over their last 5 games, they’ve combined for nearly 40 scoring chances and a handful of goals.  While Bennett is solid, my core will be Huberdeau and Duclair.  They are the guys with the offensive prowess and should do well against Ottawa.

Other stacks (Tor 1 and 2, Florida 1 and 3, Edm 1, Cgy 1, SJ 1)

Top Value Defenseman

  • Jeff Petry – $4k on DK – Keep an eye on his status as he’s a GTD, but always good for shots and blocks.
  • Alexander Romanov – $2.9k on Dk – 4 out of his last 5 games he’s had double digit points
  • Jaycob Megna – $2.5k on DK and has 16 blocked shots in his last 5
  • Vince Dunn – $3.4k on DK – becoming a bigger part of the offense in Seattle

Summary

There should be a ton of offense on tonight’s slate.  Toronto should score a ton of goals and although they aren’t in my top stacks section, they are 100% in play.  I just wanted to be a bit different since they will be chalky.  Florida should also score a ton of goals tonight.  Don’t sleep on Edmonton either tonight as they are facing a Calgary team that played last night.

Good luck and hope to see you in the green!

Vegas really loves Ovechkin’s chances of scoring a goal tonight as most have him as a -130 to -140 anytime goal score.  The man is chasing history right now.  Over his last 10 games, he’s scored a goal in 7 of them with 8 total.  Of all the skaters on the ice tonight, only Ehlers has a higher iCF over their last 5 games.  He’s playing great and when he gets on a roll like this, he’s hard to stop.  Buffalo is giving up more than 3 goals per game over the past month, Ovechkin will get one of those 3.

Noah Hanifin – 3 Shots – Over

Over his last 5 games, Hanifin is averaging 4 shots per game.  He’s also broken through to 5 in 3 of those games.  While I would have preferred to see him at 2.5 tonight, there’s still some value in this number from PrizePicks due to the Coyotes’ awful defense.  Over the last month, they’re giving up close to 40 shots per game.  That’s just horrendous.  To put into context, the average for all 10 teams in action tonight is 33 over that same period.  Look for Hanifin to blast off a handful of shots from the blue line tonight.

Ilya Samsonov – 2.5 Goals Allowed – Over

The Capitals head to Buffalo tonight and in net will be a somewhat rusty Samsonov.  Samsonov hasn’t had any game action since this time last week.  If we look at Samsonov’s last 8 starts, he’s given up at least 3 goals in 6 of those games.  While the Sabres don’t’ have a powerhouse offense, especially with Eichel playing in Vegas, they still have some guys that put the puck in the back of the net.  The combo of Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner is a solid duo and I can see a scenario where the 2 of them combine put Samsonov over the 2.5 goals given to us by PrizePicks

NBA Picks

Donovan Mitchell – 26.5 Points – Over, wellllll Over!

Donovan Mitchell is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now.  Over his last 4 games, he has games of 37, 36, 30, and 37 points.  In his last game, he dropped 37 against one of the best teams in the league in Boston.  Tonight he gets to take on a fun, but brutal-on-D team in the Charlotte Hornets.  Look for Mitchell to crush his PrizePicks Prop.

Andrew Wiggins – 16.5 Points – Over

With Curry on the shelf currently, there are a ton of points to go around.  One of the guys projected to pick up the slack is Mr. Andrew Wiggins.  In his last game, Wiggins dropped 22 real points against a tough Heat tonight.  While the Hawks are a good team, they are still giving up over 112 points per game this year.  This game is projected to be a close one so it will be all hands on deck for the starters.  Love the over here!

Hello everyone and welcome to the newest edition of WinDaily’s Wednesday Night Between the Benches Article. Lots of great options available on tonight’s small four-gamer! For tonight’s 3/23 NHL slate, the first puck drops at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

3/23 NHL Stack Report

1. Pittsburgh Penguins 1
Guentzel – Crosby – Rodrigues (FanDuel: $21,800 | DraftKings: $20,600)
This slate has three deep mismatches on paper and one close contest. The mismatch between Toronto and New Jersey is a bit different than the two in front of us but we will touch on that in the Wild Card section. The two mismatches leading our stack report is much more straightforward. Pittsburgh’s whole top line is the more affordable of the two lines in the stack report and they have been playing supremely well leading up to tonight’s matchup against the fledgling Buffalo Sabres. Both teams in this matchup are on small winning streaks but Pittsburgh’s success has been more sustained throughout the season compared to Buffalo and Pittsburgh has been regularly demolishing teams, scoring 4 or 5 goals regularly in their winning efforts. This line in particular has put together 10 points over their last two games (4 G, 6 A). That’s an insane pace and with Buffalo’s defensive struggles that have seen them near the bottom of the league in Goals Allowed, Shots on Goal allowed and Penalty Kill %, I think that Pittsburgh’s top line is in a prime position to tear apart the Buffalo Sabres blue line tonight.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Kris Letang (Brian Doumolin works as a Salary Saver) (FD: $6,400 | DK: $6,800)

2. Colorado Avalanche 1
Nichushkin MacKinnon Rantanen (FanDuel: $25,400 | DraftKings: $20,700)
We’re unsurprisingly back to what has consistently been one of the best lines in hockey for the past few seasons now. Tonight, they’re up against a very unimpressive defense in the Vancouver Canucks and as such the Avalanche are currently given a 4.1 implied total from the Vegas Oddsmakers. Vancouver’s penalty kill has been particularly bad as they sit at dead last with a 71.3% penalty kill rate, a horrible stat to have against the Aves who’s powerplay currently sits at fourth in the entire league at 24.8%. Luckily for us all three members of Colorado’s top line, including Cale Makar appear on Colorado’s top power play unit and will be seeing the most power play time for Colorado tonight. It’s also important to note that Colorado currently sits second in the league in goals per game with 3.83 and the Aves are currently on a four-game winning streak, whereas the Canucks are on a three game skid. I only see this game ending with a convincing victory for the Aves and I recommend having some exposure to them in your lines tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Cale Makar (Devon Toews works as a Salary Saver) (FD: $7,100 | DK: $6,600)

Honorable Mentions in order: NJD1 (Sharangovich-Hughes-Mercer), TOR1 (Marner-Matthews-Bunting), PIT 3 (Rackell-Carter-Kapanen)

BOOKIE BET OF THE NIGHT: OVER 6 PIT/BUF

Honorable Mention(s): Auston Matthews Anytime Goalscorer -150

3/23 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Darcy Kuemper (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Casey DeSmith (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,200)
    Honorable Mention(s): Kevin Lankinen

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Craig Anderson (FD: $7,000 | DK: $7,200)
Honorable Mention(s): Nico Daws, Petr Mrazek

3/23 NHL Wild Card Targets

Yegor Sharangovich (FD: $5,500 | DK: $3,700)
It may seem a little counterintuitive to list a winger on a team that is a +260 underdog as our wild card play of the day but realistically there are a few points that we need to take into account when assessing this play. 1) Sharangovich has gone absolutely gangbusters as of late with five points over his last five games (2 G, 3 A) 2) He is an affordable top liner who sees around 16-19 minutes of ice time a game, including time on the Second power play unit 3) The Leafs have been ABYSMAL as heavy favorites this season. I don’t have the faintest idea as to why but they cannot seem to convert whenever the bookies have them as a -300 favorite or greater (tonight the Leafs are -325) 4) The Leafs are starting Petr Mrazek, a goalie who was recently put on and cleared waivers based on how bad he’s been playing and his presence between the pipes for the Leafs tonight has ballooned the O/U for tonight’s game at an even 7.0. Even though New Jersey’s current O/U is set at 2.6, I truly believe they shouldn’t have a problem putting at least three by Mrazek tonight. Sharangovich works really well with his Centre Jack Hughes and even though the Leafs have defensive struggles their offense is still a juggernaut so don’t take this write up as me saying they are going to lose tonight or that their offense wont break the slate because they very well might. !!Do not overlook the Leafs top line!!
Honorable Mention(s): Rickard Rackell, Mark Giordano, Michael Bunting, Dylan Strome, Conor Garland

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Auston Matthews

Winger Yegor Sharangovich

Defence Kris Letang

Goalie Darcy Kuemper

Another Monster NHL Tuesday slate

It’s Tuesday, so you know what that means! Another gigantic NHL DFS slate of games. We have eleven games on the schedule so there’s no time for me to ramble on, let’s just get into it!

NHL DFS: Goalies

Anton Forsberg:

Forsberg has been one of the hottest goalies in the NHL over the past 5 weeks, but for some reason both sites have him priced extremely low ($6.8K/$7K). Looking at his DK numbers, Forsberg has only scored lower than 12.5 DKFP once in his last 10 starts. During this span, Forsberg is averaging 31.5 saves per game and has a .924 save %. Forsberg also has hit the 35+ ave bonus four times in 10 games. The Islanders are semi-risky to play goalies against because they aren’t a high shot on goal team, but I feel like this is a must-play because of the upside for the incredibly low price tag.

There are three high-priced goalies that I also have a lot of interest in on Tuesday if you don’t trust Forsberg and want to pay up. Igor Shesterkin, Jacob Markstrom, and Tristan Jarry are all in plus matchups on Tuesday against New Jersey, San Jose, and Columbus respectively. All three are expensive, but with eleven games on this slate, you can easily find the value needed to pay up for these goalies.

Other Options: Connor Hellebuyck, Karel Vejmelka, Carter Hart (Cheap, has two solid starts back-to-back, and is playing Detroit)

NHL DFS: Slate Overview

There are A LOT of teams that stand out on this slate and of course, we can’t play them all. I will rank their top lines a little bit further down, first though, I want to give you my overlooked value team to pair with these top teams.

Philadelphia Flyers:

This is so hard for me to do, but I am going to write up the Flyers as a great play on this slate. My thought is that people will gravitate towards the bigger, better teams and overlook potentially the highest-scoring team on this slate. Detroit has been absolute trash defensively over the last month. Dating back to February 14th (13 games), the Red Wings are allowing 5 goals per game and 36.5 shots on goal per game. Meanwhile, the Flyers have scored 3+ goals four times in their last nine games.

The Flyers made a couple of deals on Monday so their lines will be different on Tuesday from the ones that skated Sunday. We can assume that the line of Travis Konecny, Kevin Hayes, and Joel Farabee will stay together for this game. Outside of Cam Atkinson, these three have been the Flyers’ best forwards. Both Farabee and Hayes are averaging a point per game in their last five, and Konecny has four assists and is averaging nearly 4 shots on goal per game in his last five. Speaking of Atkinson, he has eight points in his last eight games and has 29 shots on goal. Atkinson and James van Riemsdyk will have a new center with Brassard being traded.

Owen Tippett was part of the Giroux deal from Florida and was in the lineup on Sunday, it’ll be interesting to see who he skates with now on Tuesday. I will update the Flyers lines in discord on Tuesday when or if they have a morning skate. As for defensemen, both Travis Sanheim and Rasmus Ristolainen are great plays and Cam York is the best value dman from Philly.

Top Stacks:

Nashville Predators L1: Forsberg-Granlund-Duchene. Dmen to use: Josi, Fabbro, Carrier

Pittsburgh Penguins L1: GuentzelCrosby-Rust. Dmen to use: Letang, Matheson, Marino

New York Rangers L2: Vatrano-Strome-Panarin. Dmen to use: Fox, Trouba, Miller

Arizona Coyotes L1: Schmaltz-Boyd-Keller. Dmen to use: Mayo, Stralman

Winnipeg Jets L2: Connor-Dubois-Ehlers. Dmen to use: Morrisey, Schmidt, Stanley

Value Bin:

Tampa Bay Lightning L3: Hagel-Colton-Paul. Dmen to use: Hedman, Sergachev, McDonagh

Carolina Hurricanes L3: Lorentz-Staal-Fast. Dmen to use: Skjei, Pesce, Bear

Ottawa Senators L2: Formenton-Stutzle-Brown. Dmen to use: Brannstrom. Zaitsev

Calgary Flames L3: Coleman-Jarnkrok-Mangiapane
