NHL DFS Picks

We are back with another nice 8 game slate tonight! This is the balance that a lot of us wish for in the NHL schedule, but it usually doesn’t come this way, so take advantage while we can. Last night was a pretty good night with STL3 going off. Hopefully we can repeat that tonight. Check out our NHL DFS picks for FanDuel and DraftKings below. Good luck!

Goalies

James Reimer – San Jose Sharks: The Sharks host the Flames tonight, who have been struggling to score of late. Even though the Sharks will be without Hertl tonight due to suspension, this is a good spot for the Sharks. Reimer has been playing well since his return from IR.

Pyotr Kochetkov – Carolina Hurricanes: We haven’t come up with a nickname for him just yet, but Kochetkov has been playing very well this season. He gets an interesting matchup tonight against the Devils on home ice, where he should see some solid upside. There should be some solid shot volume in this game overall, but both teams have been limiting defensively of late.

Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins: This one is a little risky, as the Pens host the Rangers tonight. There will be potential for upside, and the Rangers have been a little inconsistent. Overall, though, this could be a very tight game that is ripe for goalies in DFS.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Matt Murray – Toronto Maple Leafs: Murray and the Leafs host the Lightning tonight, and this should be a high volume night for Murray. He has been pretty solid this year, but the opponent makes him risky tonight.

Others to Consider: Vitek Vanecek (NJD), Carter Hart (PHI)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Los Angeles Kings 1 – Anze Kopitar/Adrian Kempe/Kevin Fiala/Drew Doughty: On home ice, the Kings match this top line with the second opposing line. Tonight, they get to face the Ducks’ second line that absolutely bleeds chances. This line has a lot of potential tonight, and makes for a great late night hammer. This game overall should feature quite a bit of scoring.

Ottawa Senators 1 – Derick Brassard/Claude Giroux/Brady Tkachuk/Thomas Chabot: The Sens head to Winnipeg tonight to face David Rittich and the Jets. Rittich has been pretty shaky of late, and the matchup for this line looks very good on paper. With Ottawa playing well right now, this is a solid play for tonight. A power play look makes sense if you want to get some access to the second line as well.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Philadelphia Flyers 1 – Morgan Frost/James van Riemsdyk/Owen Tippett/Tony DeAngelo: The Flyers are heavy favorites tonight on home ice against the Blue Jackets. However, the Flyers are also a mess of an organization, and they have been struggling mightily this season. The Blue Jackets are also bad, so this game really could go either way. It’s hard to deny that the Philly top line is in play, but they come with inherent risk.

Winnipeg Jets 2 – Pierre-Luc Dubois/Kyle Connor/Sam Gagner: The Jets host the Senators tonight in what should be a high event game. Both teams have solid rates offensively, and both goalies are fairly shaky. This line should see the likes of the top six for the Sens, which is a good matchup for them.

Seattle Kraken 2 – Alex Wennberg/Oliver Bjorkstrand/Jaden Schwartz: There is a nice matchup for this line if they match the same way that they did last time against the Blues. These guys should have some considerable upside tonight, and the Blues are on a back to back.

The holiday week brings us the most balance in the NHL schedule that we have seen all year. We have a nice eight game slate to dive into tonight, which is a great slate size. Let’s get into our NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: Ullmark and the B’s host the Panthers tonight, and this is a very solid matchup, with upside. The Panthers have been struggling to light the lamp over their last five, but should still throw a decent amount of shots at Ullmark.

Charlie Lindgren – Washington Capitals: Lindgren has been playing very well recently, and he has a chance to extend that tonight with a home date against the Red Wings. Even with Larkin back for Detroit, this looks like a very good spot for Lindgren.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators: This is a tough pill to swallow, but no one will go here, and he will see a ton of shot volume. At home, with the shot volume, plus the fact that he has good numbers over his last five, make him a very interesting upside GPP candidate.

Others to Consider: Jordan Binnington (STL), Jake Oettinger (DAL)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Boston Bruins Power Play – Patrice Bergeron/Brad Marchand/Jake Debrusk/David Pastrnak/Hampus Lindholm: The Bruins have a solid matchup tonight against a middle of the road penalty killing unit for the Panthers. The Bruins have been cruising, while the Panthers have been leaky defensively. There is a chance that the Panthers will also be without Barkov tonight, which would make this an even better play.

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – William Karlsson/Jonathan Marchessault/Reilly Smith: The Knights host the Sabres tonight, and this one is mostly about the goalie matchup. The Sabres, as of this morning, appear to be rolling out Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, who has not been very good this season. Without Eichel, the Knights have had to rely on this line for scoring, and tonight is no different. They should have a solid matchup tonight against the top line for the Sabres.

Washington Capitals 1 – Dylan Strome/Alex Ovechkin/Conor Sheary/John Carlson: Ovi continues to chase the great Gordie Howe on the scoring list, and he has a chance to tie and even pass him tonight against a porous Detroit defense. It is going to be hard for the Wings to contain this line tonight, and this is a great spot for Ovi and this top line.

St. Louis Blues 3 – Robert Thomas/Jordan Kyrou/Ivan Barbashev: Listing a third line as a line to build around feels weird, but the matchup for this line is undeniable. The Blues will be facing a Canucks team that is bleeding goals and chances. The matchup for this line appears to be against the bottom six, which sets them up VERY nicely tonight.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Arizona Coyotes 2 – Nick Bjugstad/Lawson Crouse/Matias Maccelli: The Coyotes are rarely listed as a DFS play, but this game can be looked at for some scoring. Both they and the Canadiens are terrible on defense and in net, so there should be a healthy amount of scoring here. The risk? Well, it’s the Coyotes, and good luck trying to determine where the scoring comes from. This line should have a decent number of chances tonight, so they are worth a GPP look.

Dallas Stars 1 – Roope Hintz/Joe Pavelski/Jason Robertson/Miro Heiskanen: The top line for the Stars has a very nice matchup tonight against the Blue Jackets’ top line. They should see plenty of chances, but Dallas has been fairly quiet of late. Tonight is a potential get-right spot for them, and they could be very sneaky.

Edmonton Oilers 1 – Connor McDavid/Leon Draisaitl/Zach Hyman/Darnell Nurse: This top line for the Oilers is always in play, and they get an interesting matchup tonight. Nashville has been somewhat limiting defensively, which is what makes them a little risky, along with the fact that they are so expensive.

Nashville Predators 1 – Thomas Novak/Mikael Granlund/Filip Forsberg/Roman Josi: While the top line for the Oilers faces off against the Predators’ second line, this line should be set up against the depth for the Oilers. That, plus the fact that Campbell is very shaky in net, makes them a very interesting play tonight.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: MTL1, BUF1, COL2, STL2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: William Karlsson ($4300) – Vegas Golden Knights

Wing: Lawson Crouse ($3200) – Arizona Coyotes

Defense: Esa Lindell ($3100) – Dallas Stars

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Thomas Novak ($3000) – Nashville Predators

Wing: Lawson Crouse ($5000) – Arizona Coyotes

Defense: Trevor van Riemsdyk ($3700) – Washington Capitals

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Connor McDavid – Edmonton Oilers

Wing: Alex Ovechkin – Washington Capitals

Defense: Roman Josi – Nashville Predators

Goalie: Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Nick Suzuki (MTL): over 2.5 shots on goal (+145 on DK Sportsbook)

Lawson Crouse (ARI): anytime goal scorer (+235 on DK Sportsbook)

Ivan Barbashev (STL): anytime goal scorer (+320 on DK Sportsbook)

After a weird Monday slate, we get to break down a massive 12 gamer tonight. There should be quite a few different paths to the top of the leaderboards tonight, so don’t worry too much about ownership. Quite a few teams are on a back-to-back, and there are a few obvious spots on the board. Check out our NHL DFS picks for FanDuel and DraftKings below. Good luck!

Goalies

Ilya Samsonov – Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs host the Ducks tonight in what should be a very, very tough game for the Ducks. Toronto and Anaheim are not on the same level at this point in their franchises, and Toronto should be able to handle this game easily. Samsonov is your cash goalie on the night, as the Ducks come into this one scoring less than a goal per game on the road over their last five. Oh yeah, they played last night, too.

James Reimer – San Jose Sharks: Reimer returns after a short IR stint to face the Coyotes, which is a nice way for him to ease back into action. He should be able to get a win tonight, albeit with limited upside.

Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning: The Lightning host the Kraken tonight, and Vasilevskiy should have a decent chance to dominate tonight. There could be a slight issue with the number of shots he faces, but Vas feels like a solid play overall.

Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets: The Jets host the Eichel-less Golden Knights tonight, and Hellebuyck looks like a solid play tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Ville Husso – Detroit Red Wings: The Wings host the Hurricanes tonight, who love to shoot the puck. There is some upside here for Husso, who has some solid numbers recently. There is also some risk, because we know the Canes can score. Without Aho, Carolina is a little less daunting, so this is a solid play tonight.

Others to Consider: Linus Ullmark (BOS), Pyotr Kochetkov (CAR)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Toronto Maple Leafs Power Play – Auston Matthews/John Tavares/Mitch Marner/William Nylander/Rasmus Sandin: This is about the best spot there can be for DFS purposes. The Toronto power play is ranked in the top 10 of the league, while the Ducks’ PK is next to last. Sandin has been very solid playing on this unit, so he and AM34 are a must tonight. The formula is there for these guys to break the slate.

San Jose Sharks 1 – Tomas Hertl/Timo Meier/Kevin Labanc/Erik Karlsson: The Coyotes are just bad. They are ranked second in the league in HDCA/60 on the season so far, and the Sharks should be able to take care of business tonight. This top line is a great late night play, and they should have their chances. You can also consider adding Couture/Barabanov in with Hertl/Meier/Karlsson, which creates a power play look.

Washington Capitals 1 – Dylan Strome/Conor Sheary/Alex Ovechkin/John Carlson: The Caps head to the Windy City tonight to take on Mrazek and the Blackhawks. Mrazek is back after a week or so off with a groin injury, and tonight is going to be a tough game for him. The top six line matching scheme for the Hawks sets this line up for a nice night tonight.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Buffalo Sabres 2 – Dylan Cozens/JJ Peterka/Jack Quinn: The Sabres get a date with the Kings tonight, and it looks like LA will be rolling Pheonix Copley in net. The way they match their lines, this second line should see a good bit of the Kopitar line tonight, creating a plus matchup. They aren’t the most prolific scoring line in the league, so they are a riskier play, but worth a look tonight.

New Jersey Devils 2 – Erik Haula/Jack Hughes/Dawson Mercer: This play is a little more about recent data than it is about matchup. Dallas has been okay on defense all year, but this line has been scorching hot of late. It looks like Wedgewood suits up for the Stars in net, so this could be an interesting spot.

Tampa Bay Lightning Power Play – Brayden Point/Steven Stamkos/Brandon Hagel/Nikita Kucherov/Victor Hedman: The Lightning power play gets a nice matchup against Seattle’s 28th ranked penalty kill tonight. They fall under high risk because the Kraken have been surprisingly stingy on defense all year. However, their recent numbers show them being a little worse on defense than their season long baseline, so this is a very interesting play tonight.

Florida Panthers 1 – Aleksander Barkov/Carter Verhaeghe/Sam Reinhart/Aaron Ekblad: The Panthers have a massive total tonight, and they get to face Merzlikins in net for the Blue Jackets. That sets them up for a very nice overall matchup. However, there is some risk in playing these guys tonight, as the Jackets are actually somewhat limiting defensively. This line should have some chances, but they will have to capitalize on every one they get. They are worth a look, but proceed with caution.

Tonight offers us another very solid looking six game slate in the NHL. There are some interesting games tonight that could either way, and definitely some nice spots to attack. Let’s get into our NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pens host the Stars tonight in what should be a good spot for Jarry. The Stars tend to struggle on the road, and this should be a spot where Jarry can pick up the win.

Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers: Igor should see a bunch of shots tonight, as the Rangers host the Devils, so there is definitely some upside potential here. He is a little risky, given how well NJ has played this year, but there is a potential for upside tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Stuart Skinner – Edmonton Oilers: Skinner has been playing fairly well over his last five starts, but Edmonton as a whole has not been very good on defense all year. His recent numbers are definitely improving, so this is a good place to look for a potential upside, leverage win.

Others to Consider: Juuse Saros (NSH), Thomas Greiss (STL), Vitek Vanecek (NJD)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Ottawa Senators Power Play – Tim Stutzle/Drake Batherson/Brady Tkachuk/Alex Debrincat/Thomas Chabot: The top play on the board tonight appears to be the Sens’ power play. They get to face the Ducks’ 30th ranked PK unit and will definitely have their chances. Keep an eye on the Debrincat news, as he has a GTD tag on him. You can also give the second Ottawa line a good look tonight, provided that Debrincat plays. If not the, the focus shifts to Stutzle/Tkachuk/Chabot as a 3-man.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Calgary Flames 1 – Elias Lindholm/Jonathan Huberdeau/Tyler Toffoli/Rasmus Andersson: The Flames’ top line appears to be in a great spot tonight, as they head to Montreal to face the Canadiens. Jake Allen looks to be getting the nod in net for the Habs, and this line should be able to do some damage against him tonight. There is some risk in that the Flames have been struggling to score recently, but this is a nice get-right spot for them to change that.

Pittsburgh Penguins 2 – Evgeni Malkin/Jason Zucker/Bryan Rust: The Pens put their fourth line on the opposing top line, which sets up a great matchup for this second line against the Dallas depth. The top line for the Pens is in play, but there appears to be a little more value in this line tonight.

Minnesota Wild 1 – Sam Steel/Kirill Kaprizov/Mats Zuccarello/Jared Spurgeon: The top line for Minnesota has a juicy matchup against the depth lines for Edmonton tonight, and this could be one of those surprise spots. Steel on this line provides a good bit of value, making them workable for a lot of combinations of lineup builds.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: ANH2, MTL1, PIT1, EDMPP, STL2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Sam Steel ($3500) – Minnesota Wild

Wing: Tyler Motte ($2800) – Ottawa Senators

Defense: Brian Dumoulin ($2800) – Pittsburgh Penguins

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Sam Steel ($3900) – Minnesota Wild

Wing: Tyler Motte ($4200) – Ottawa Senators

Defense: Brian Dumoulin ($4200) – Pittsburgh Penguins

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Connor McDavid – Edmonton Oilers

Wing: Brady Tkachuk – Ottawa Senators

Defense: Rasmus Andersson – Calgary Flames

Goalie: Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Jason Zucker (PIT): over 0.5 points (+115 on DK Sportsbook)

Thomas Chabot (OTT): over 0.5 power play points (+195 on DK Sportsbook)

Tyler Toffoli (CGY): anytime goal scorer (+175 on DK Sportsbook)

Tonight’s Tuesday slate brings us 9 games on the menu, with a ton of places to go. It should be an interesting slate, with some teams on a back-to-back. Nine games means that the ownership should be pretty spread out, so we won’t have to worry too much about that. As usual, keep an eye on the news throughout the day. Good luck!

Goalies

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators: Saros has a good chance at a win tonight, as the Preds host the Ducks. Saros can be considered for cash tonight, but he does carry a little bit of risk.

Jacob Markstrom – Calgary Flames: Markstrom and the Flames host the Florida Panthers, who have been a shell of themselves since Barkov went out. They just played last night, so this should be a pretty solid play tonight.

Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins host the Hurricanes, who love shooting the puck. For that reason, Jarry has some very solid upside potential tonight, and he may even be able to snag a win on home ice.

Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders: The Isles head to Philly to face the awful Flyers, and this should be a solid game for Sorokin. The upside here might be limited, but Sorokin should be able to get the win.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets: Normally, we don’t advise playing a goalie against the Avalanche, but this looks like a good spot for some upside. Hellebuyck has been a solid goalie all year long, and a home matchup against a team that shoots the puck a ton is usually a formula for a good night.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Nashville Predators Power Play – Ryan Johansen/Matt Duchene/Filip Forsberg/Mikael Granlund/Roman Josi: The Predators have a fantastic matchup tonight against the 31st ranked penalty kill in the league for the Ducks. The Ducks are also spending a lot of time on the PK, so this unit should see plenty of chances tonight.

Boston Bruins 1 – Patrice Bergeron/Jake Debrusk/Brad Marchand/Charlie McAvoy: The top line for the Bruins has a really nice matchup tonight against the Lightning. Boston has been a solid team all year long, and they should be able to solve the Lightning tonight.

San Jose Sharks 1 – Tomas Hertl/Timo Meier/Kevin Labanc/Erik Karlsson: One of the more prolific scoring lines so far this year, the top Sharks line has a great matchup tonight in Montreal. This line is set up to have a massive night.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Calgary Flames 1 – Elias Lindholm/Tyler Toffoli/Jonathan Huberdeau/Rasmus Andersson: As mentioned above, the Flames have a nice matchup tonight against the Panthers. Bobrovsky has not been playing too well of late, and this line has a nice even strength matchup.

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen/Artturi Lehkonen/Cale Makar: The Avalanche top line has a nice even strength matchup tonight against the Jets.

Washington Capitals 2 – Evgeny Kuznetsov/Sonny Milano/TJ Oshie: The Canucks/Caps game could go pretty high scoring tonight. This line has a date with the Pettersson line in a very nice matchup.

Vancouver Canucks 2 – Elias Pettersson/Andrei Kuzmenko/Ilya Mikheyev: This line should see the aforementioned Capitals’ second line, which is a great matchup.

Seattle Kraken 3 – Yanni Gourde/Oliver Bjorkstrand/Brandon Tanev: This line could provide some really nice value tonight. They should be facing the third line for the Kings, and that sets up a great matchup.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: BOS2, PIT1, SEA1, MTL1, TBL2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Ryan Johansen ($2900) – Nashville Predators

Wing: Brandon Tanev ($2900) – Seattle Kraken

Defense: Alexander Edler ($3000) – Los Angeles Kings

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Yanni Gourde ($5100) – Seattle Kraken

Wing: Sonny Milano ($4600) – Washington Capitals

Defense: Sean Walker ($3900) – Los Angeles Kings

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Elias Pettersson – Vancouver Canucks

Wing: Jake Debrusk – Boston Bruins

Defense: Roman Josi – Nashville Predators

Goalie: Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Jake Debrusk (BOS): anytime goal scorer (+210 on DK Sportsbook)

Juuso Parssinen (NSH): anytime goal scorer (+210 on DK Sportsbook)

We enter the holiday season on this Monday with a very nice little six game slate. Six games is pretty much the perfect sized slate, not too big, and not too small. Check out our DFS picks below for DraftKings and FanDuel! Good luck!

Goalies

Logan Thompson – Vegas Golden Knights: The Knights head to Columbus tonight to face the Blue Jackets in what is a winnable game. Thompson has a solid matchup tonight and should end up being the safest of the bunch tonight.

Vitek Vanecek – New Jersey Devils: The Devils face the Rangers tonight in what should be an interesting matchup. Vanecek has been solid all year long, and has a chance at some decent upside tonight. However, there is a little risk involved in this one, since it is the Rangers, who can turn it on at any time.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Ville Husso – Detroit Red Wings: The Wings host the Leafs tonight, and Husso should be peppered with shots. He has some solid looking numbers of late, so this looks like a good upside spot. Don’t go all in on him, but he makes sense for some leverage in tournaments.

Others to Consider: Jake Oettinger (DAL), Igor Shesterkin (NYR)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Tampa Bay Lightning Power Play – Brayden Point/Steven Stamkos/Nikita Kucherov/Alex Killorn/Victor Hedman: Tampa heads to Buffalo tonight to face the Sabres, who finally snapped out of a losing streak. However, this matchup is solid for the Bolts, and both top lines are in a great spot against a mediocre goalie tonight.

Vegas Golden Knights 1 – Jack Eichel/Mark Stone/Chandler Stephenson/Alex Pietrangelo: As mentioned above, Vegas has a great matchup tonight, and this top line should benefit from it. They should end up seeing a lot of the Kuraly line tonight, which sets them up very nicely.

Florida Panthers 1 – Sam Bennett/Nick Cousins/Matthew Tkachuk/Aaron Ekblad: The Panthers’ top line has a great matchup tonight against Edmonton. Even without Barkov, targeting Edmonton has been a great strategy this year, since their defensive ability is questionable.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Dallas Stars 1 -Roope Hintz/Jason Robertson/Joe Pavelski/Miro Heiskanen: The Stars face the Blues tonight in a game that could be higher scoring. This line is the play most of the time for the Stars, and tonight is no different. Dallas could go a little overlooked on a slate like this, and this line at low ownership is always a decent bet.

St. Louis Blues 1 – Robert Thomas/Vladimir Tarasenko/Pavel Buchnevich/Torey Krug: In that same game, the Blues side of things looks interesting as well. Getting Tarasenko back provides a nice boost to this top line, and this could be another lower-owned leverage spot in a game that could end up getting up there in scoring.

New York Rangers 3 – Vincent Trocheck/Alexis Lafreniere/Barclay Goodrow: The even strength matchup for this line is very, very nice, and could set them up to be a great value play tonight. The Devils have been very solid, and the fact that this line could be limited in ice time makes them a pretty risky play.

After last night’s nice 9 game slate, we end up with a baby 2-gamer tonight. This one looks interesting, and will be a very volatile slate. Keep it light tonight and prep for tomorrow’s massive slate. Check out our NHL DFS picks for tonight below. Good luck!

Goalies

With only four teams in action tonight, we will list the goalies in order of risk below, from safest to riskiest. As usual, be sure to keep an eye on news through the day to verify they draw the start.

Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers: Igor is hands-down the best goalie on this slate from a talent perspective. He has some fantastic numbers this year, and the Rangers have a good chance at winning this game tonight.

Jake Allen – Montreal Canadiens: The Canadiens host the Sabres tonight, who have been pretty bad of late. They have been losing like crazy, and are averaging just 1 goal per game over their last five. Allen’s numbers aren’t pretty, but this is more about the matchup.

Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings: Quick has been very inconsistent of late. He has a whopping 4.67 GAA over his last five, and those types of numbers are scary when you think of him facing the Rangers. We know the Rangers can score, and they should be able to take advantage of Quick tonight. However, from a risk/reward standpoint, Quick can be a solid deep GPP option, since the volume will be there.

Craig Anderson – Buffalo Sabres: Anderson’s numbers actually aren’t terrible. However, this is an unfavorable matchup for him and the Sabres tonight. Montreal looks to be in a prime spot tonight. We aren’t saying don’t use him at all, but he should be reserved for MME style play for tonight.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Stacking Notes: Before we get into plays, we want to cover a quick note about stacking on a 2-game slate. In general, on DraftKings especially, a preferred build on a bigger slate is 3-3-2, covering your bases with D-men and dropping a forward off of a stack. On a two game slate, stacking a full forward line makes a lot of sense from a leverage standpoint. For example, if a common build is to play Zibanejad with Kreider and Fox, you can get different by playing Zibanejad with Kreider and Vesey instead. As most people will leave Vesey off, if he benefits from that line scoring, you will have an advantage on the field.

In our example above (Zib/Kreider/Vesey), add your second full forward line stack, and then fill in your D spots with floor. If they correlate with the two stacks, great, but if not, that’s ok. Chase blocked shots and shots on goal as much as possible so that you get the most out of those two D spots.

Montreal Canadiens 1 – Nick Suzuki/Cole Caufield/Kirby Dach/Michael Matheson: Based on the line matching for Montreal, this line tends to find itself against the better or best lines for the opposition. That means that this line should see a majority of the Thompson line for Buffalo tonight, who is giving up a massive 34.83 SCA/60 and 17.94 HDCA/60. It helps that this line has been on fire recently, so definitely get some Canadiens in your lineups tonight.

New York Rangers 2 – Vincent Trocheck/Artemi Panarin/Barclay Goodrow/Adam Fox: This line has a date with the Kings’ top line tonight, who are giving up 38.46 SCA/60 and 21.64 HDCA/60, which means that this line could absolutely break the slate. The matchup should be pretty wide open, as this line is not a stellar defensive line themselves. A game stack with this line and the Kings’ top line is certainly a possibility tonight.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Buffalo Sabres 1 – Tage Thompson/Jeff Skinner/Alex Tuch/Rasmus Dahlin: The Sabres have gone cold recently, but this top line is in play on a two game slate. They have to break out of that slump at some point, and there is a possibility that tonight could be the time to do so. The Canadiens are giving up goals, so there should be chances, but the worry here is that Buffalo just cannot convert. Their matchup with the top Canadiens’ line could be limiting, which is the risky part of this play, but on two games, anything can happen.

Los Angeles Kings 1 – Anze Kopitar/Kevin Fiala/Adrian Kempe/Drew Doughty: Fiala moves back to the top line, and, as mentioned above, this line should see the second line for the Rangers tonight. This sets the top line up for an interesting look, and this line could be a little sneaky tonight. The field will likely be on Shesterkin, so they may be a leverage play.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: LAK2, NYR1, MON2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Christian Dvorak ($3500) – Montreal Canadiens

Wing: Barclay Goodrow ($2900) – New York Rangers

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Cole Caufield (MTL): over 0.5 power play points (+205 on DK Sportsbook)

Artemi Panarin (NYR): anytime goal scorer (+250 on DK Sportsbook)

Welcome to Monday! With the holiday coming up, the schedule for the NHL gets a little weird. Monday usually means a short slate, but tonight we have 10 games to sift through. There are a lot of interesting places to look tonight, and it should be a fun one to break down. Let’s get right into it. Good luck!

Goalies

Jordan Binnington – St. Louis Blues: Binny and the Blues host the Ducks tonight, and the Blues have been streaking. Binnington has finally started to put something together and has looked very solid of late. This should be a safe place to get a win.

Antti Raanta – Carolina Hurricanes: The Canes head to Winnipeg tonight to face the Jets, and this is a decent spot for Raanta. He has solid numbers over his last five, and he has a good chance at a win tonight.

Logan Thompson – Vegas Golden Knights: The Knights head to Vancouver tonight to face the Canucks, and Thompson continues to be a solid option in net. He carries a little bit of risk, as the Canucks are a little better at home, but he should still be a decent option.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Vitek Vanecek – New Jersey Devils: The Devils host the Oilers tonight, and Vanecek has some stellar looking numbers. He should see a bunch of shots tonight, and as long as he keeps playing the way he has, he should carry some great upside potential.

Others to Consider: Juuse Saros (NSH), James Reimer (SJS), Linus Ullmark (BOS)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

St. Louis Blues 1 – Robert Thomas/Jordan Kyrou/Pavel Buchnevich/Torey Krug: The Blues will be without Vladimir Tarasenko on this top line tonight, so Kyrou moves up. Just two days ago, this same matchup happened, and Buchnevich/Thomas combined for six points on eight shots. Fire up the Blues’ top line tonight.

Calgary Flames Power Play – Elias Lindholm/Nazem Kadri/Jonathan Huberdeau/Tyler Toffoli/Rasmus Andersson: The Flames head to Philly tonight, where they should have a field day against a Flyers team that is just not very good. The power play look gets you access to multiple lines, and scoring might be spread out tonight for the Flames.

New Jersey Devils 1 – Nico Hischier/Tomas Tatar/Fabian Zetterlund/Dougie Hamilton: The Devils have been phenomenal over the last month or so, and have won 12 straight. They face Edmonton tonight, which sounds like a tall task, but this is a great opportunity for them. The top line is in a fantastic even strength matchup tonight, and they should be able to pot a few goals.

San Jose Sharks 1 – Tomas Hertl/Kevin Labanc/Timo Meier/Erik Karlsson: The Sharks host the Senators tonight, and this line is set up for what could be a huge night. Their even strength matchup looks fantastic, and they have been playing very, very well over the last couple of weeks.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Toronto Maple Leafs 1 – Auston Matthews/Michael Bunting/William Nylander/Morgan Rielly: This top line for the Leafs has a nice matchup tonight at home against the Islanders, who have been bleeding chances. The risk here comes in with Sorokin, who can be solid in net, and the fact that the Islanders do have the ability to slow down good offensive teams. Tonight should be a tall task for that defense though, and this is a good place to consider.

Vegas Golden Knights 1 – Jack Eichel/Mark Stone/Chandler Stephenson/Alex Pietrangelo: This top line has a date with the Canucks’ top line, and that sets up for a really nice matchup. This line’s numbers have been very, very good, and they should be able to handle that matchup, even though the top line for the Canucks has been somewhat limiting defensively.

Tampa Bay Lightning 3 – Vladislav Namestnikov/Corey Perry/Ross Colton: The Lighting and Bruins game tonight should be a great battle. Both teams are looking good of late, and there are superstars up and down each lineup. The matching schemes for the Lightning suggest that the depth lines could be the difference makers, and that’s where this line comes in. They have a good even strength matchup tonight, and could provide some great value.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: BOSPP, CAR2, WPG2, DAL1, NYI2, VAN2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Robert Thomas ($4000) – St. Louis Blues

Wing: Andrew Mangiapane ($3000) – Calgary Flames

Center: Jesperi Kotkaniemi ($3800) – Carolina Hurricanes

Wing: Andrew Mangiapane ($4600) – Calgary Flames

Defense: Jaycob Megna ($3800) – San Jose Sharks

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Auston Matthews – Toronto Maple Leafs

Defense: Dougie Hamilton – New Jersey Devils

Goalie: Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Patrice Bergeron (BOS): over 3.5 shots on goal (+115 on DK Sportsbook)

Andrei Svechnikov (CAR): over 3.5 shots on goal (+120 on DK Sportsbook)

Chandler Stephenson (VGK): anytime goal scorer (+250 on DK Sportsbook)

Welcome to the Hot Shot for Tuesday, 11/15! We get a good sized, 9 game slate tonight with all kinds of action. There are lots of interesting places to look tonight. Let’s check out our NHL DFS picks for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Logan Thompson – Vegas Golden Knights: Thompson and the Knights host the Sharks tonight, and are massive favorites. The good thing about this play is that there could actually be some decent shot volume, so this looks like a good place to go in net.

Sergei Bobrovsky – Florida Panthers: The Panthers host the Capitals tonight, and Florida has a good shot at a win. Bob has been a little inconsistent this year, so there is a slight risk with him.

Marc-Andre Fleury – Minnesota Wild: After a pretty rough start to the year, MAF can finally be listed as a goalie to play tonight. He has really turned his numbers around, and he just so happens to get a matchup tonight with a pretty depleted roster for the Predators.

Vitek Vanecek – New Jersey Devils: The Devils host the Canadiens tonight, and while this looks on the surface like a safe play, there is some risk involved. Vanecek is coming off of an injury, and the Canadiens have been scoring a little bit of late. The Devils should have the upper hand in this game, though, so he is worth a look.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars: The Stars head to Tampa tonight to take on the Lightning, and this should be a good spot for shot volume. The Stars have been rolling, so there is also a possibility for a win tonight.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – William Karlsson/Jonathan Marchessault/Rielly Smith/Shea Theodore: Vegas is in a fantastic spot tonight, and this second line should see a lot of the depth for the Sharks, creating a great matchup.

Dallas Stars 1 – Roope Hintz/Joe Pavelski/Jason Robertson/Miro Heiskanen: As mentioned, the Stars head to Tampa tonight, and this is a good spot for this top line, who has been scorching hot. They should see a lot of the top line for the Lightning, and with Elliott in net, expect them to light the lamp a few times.

Florida Panthers 1 – Aleksander Barkov/Matthew Tkachuk/Carter Verhaeghe/Aaron Ekblad: Against Washington, it feels like this line may go a little overlooked, but Kuemper for the Caps has been pretty bad of late. Expect them to see a lot of the top line tonight in a very good matchup.

Columbus Blue Jackets 1 – Boone Jenner/Emil Bemstrom/Johnny Gaudreau: The Blue Jackets face the Flyers again tonight, and top lines have been dominating Philly recently. This line looks to be in a good spot on home ice. Gaudreau and Jenner are the priorities here, but Bemstrom makes for a good value piece.

New Jersey Devils 2 – Jack Hughes/Yegor Sharanagovich/Jesper Bratt: The Devils’ second line is in a great spot tonight against the Canadiens. They should see a lot of the second and third lines, while Suzuki and co. focus on the Hischier line. They have a very good looking matchup on paper tonight, and Bratt/Hughes correlate on the power play.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Detroit Red Wings 1 – Dylan Larkin/Tyler Bertuzzi/Lucas Raymond/Filip Hronek: Tyler Bertuzzi returns for the Red Wings tonight, as they face the Ducks in Anaheim. This is a great, great spot for this top line, especially if they Ducks keep their matching scheme. With Henrique in the lineup, they usually run them against the opposing top line, setting this line up for a potentially great night. Mortiz Seider can be used instead of Hronek, but Hronek gets the 5v5 correlation.

Anaheim Ducks 1 – Trevor Zegras/Troy Terry/Adam Henrique/John Klingberg: This is the opposing line from the matchup above, and this is a good matchup for the top line. However, Bertuzzi coming back may make it a little tougher for this line, which is what makes them a risky play.

Vancouver Canucks Power Play – Elias Pettersson/Brock Boeser/Bo Horvat/JT Miller/Quinn Hughes: The Canucks’ power play is in a good spot tonight, as they face the Sabres’ 26th ranked penalty kill. This is usually where the scoring comes from for the Canucks, and this game could be high scoring.

Buffalo Sabres Power Play – Tage Thompson/Jeff Skinner/Alex Tuch/Victor Olofsson/Rasmus Dahlin: The Sabres have gone cold recently, so they had to shuffle their lines a bit. However, the power play unit is in a good spot, as Vancouver is sporting the 31st ranked penalty killing unit. There is a legitimate possibility that Buffalo could snap out of their funk tonight.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: PHI1, TBL2, MINPP, PIT2, SJS2, MIN3

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Jeff Carter ($3600) – Pittsburgh Penguins

Wing: Emil Bemstrom ($2800) – Columbus Blue Jackets

Value Options – FanDuel

Center: NIck Paul ($5000) – Tampa Bay Lightning

Wing: Emil Bemstrom ($3400) – Columbus Blue Jackets

Defense: Brayden McNabb ($4000) – Vegas Golden Knights

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Jack Hughes – New Jersey Devils

Defense: Aaron Ekblad – Florida Panthers

Goalie: Logan Thompson – Vegas Golden Knights

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for the Man Advantage. Tonight brings us a main slate that starts at 8:30pm Eastern, but there is also a game between the Islanders and Senators at 5:30pm Eastern that is not included on either the DraftKings or FanDuel main slate. That brings us to a small, three game slate that looks tricky at first glance. Remember, three games means we are going to take some risks and play a very GPP approach. Good luck!

Goalies

Alexandar Georgiev – Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche host the Blues tonight, and Georgiev should be in line for the win. The Blues have been struggling of late, scoring just 1.8 goals per game over their last five, and Georgiev’s numbers have been very solid. The shot volume may not be there, but he should be a decent ‘safe’-ish play tonight.

Jonathan Quick – Los Angeles Kings: This is a very interesting play that carries some risk. Quick’s numbers have been great recently, sporting a 1.58 GAA over his last five. However, some of that is due to the play in front of him. As a team, over their last five, the Kings are allowing just 18.76 scoring chances per 60 and 6.34 high danger chances against per 60. Keep in mind that there is a chance that Quick regresses, so hedge this play in a line or two with some Flames.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Arvid Soderblom Petr Mrazek- Chicago Blackhawks: The Hawks host the Hurricanes tonight, and this is a very intriguing risky play in net. The Canes are currently shooting about 25 times per game over their last five (during 5v5 play), and the Hawks have been giving up 30 shots against per game in that same time frame. There will be a ton of shot volume headed Soderblom’s way, and he has been very solid. He will let in a couple, maybe even more, but he should see the DraftKings save bonus. Anything more than that, like a sneaky win, would probably make him the top play if he performs well. UPDATE – Mrazek gets the nod in net. He is a lot more risky than Soderblom would have been, but is worth a shot, as all of the same factors are in play.

Others to Consider: Jacob Markstrom (CGY), Antti Raanta (CAR)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Colorado Avalanche Power Play – Evan Rodrigues/Nathan MacKinnon/Artturi Lehkonen/Mikko Rantanen/Cale Makar: It’s very hard to argue against this play tonight, as the Avalanche host the Blues. The Avalanche have the top power play and will be facing the 28th ranked penalty kill for the Blues. This is a great play, and they will likely be heavily owned tonight.

Colorado Avalanche 2 – Evan Rodrigues/Alex Newhook/Martin Kaut/Jacob MacDonald: This is a little unconventional for us to list the same team twice, but the numbers for this even strength matchup cannot be ignored. This line will most likely see the second Blues’ line, who has a small sample. However, in the 20 minute sample of ice time, they are giving up 48.96 scoring chances against per 60 and 25.92 high danger chances against per 60. That’s enough reason, on a small slate, to heavily consider playing this line tonight. There is some risk here, but it will be very different.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Trevor Moore/Viktor Arvidsson/Sean Durzi: The Kings’ second line is in a good spot against the depth for Calgary. The Flames don’t really hard match, but this line should see a bunch of the second and third lines, creating a plus matchup. Throw in that Markstrom has been struggling a bit of late, and this looks like an interesting spot to play.

Carolina Hurricanes 3 – Jordan Staal/Jordan Martinook/Jesper Fast: If the Hawks run the same line matching scheme as the last couple of games, then this line should see a healthy dose of the top Hawks’ line. That puts this third line in a FANTASTIC spot tonight. They are cheap and could provide a ton of value. Make sure you aren’t stacking them against Soderblom in the same lineup.

Chicago Blackhawks 3 – Sam Lafferty/Boris Katchouk/Mackenzie Entwistle: This is another kind of crazy play tonight, and it pertains to the same line matching above. The third line over the last two games for the Hawks has matched the top opposing line, which would put these guys in a good spot. Their numbers aren’t as gaudy as the third Carolina line, but they are worth a look tonight in deeper GPPs.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: LAK1, CAR1, STL1, CGYPP

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Jordan Staal ($3200) – Carolina Hurricanes

Wing: Alex Newhook ($2600) – Colorado Avalanche

Defense: Colton Parayko ($3900) – St. Louis Blues

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Jordan Staal ($3800) – Carolina Hurricanes

Wing: Boris Katchouk ($3500) – Chicago Blackhawks

Defense: Josh Manson ($3900) – Colorado Avalanche

Player Props

In this section, we will highlight some NHL player props that we like for the upcoming NHL slate.

Jordan Staal (CAR): anytime goal scorer (+330 on DK Sportsbook)

Viktor Arvidsson (LAK): anytime goal scorer (+215 on DK Sportsbook)

Mikko Rantanen (COL): over 3.5 shots on goal (+130 on DK Sportsbook)
