NHL DFS Picks

Welcome to another edition of the Man Advantage! Tonight is a very small three game slate in the NHL. It’s important to get a little bit different on these, even if it’s just one player that gives you an edge. Let’s check out our DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Alexander Georgiev – Colorado Avalanche: This is considered a ‘safe’ pick tonight, as the Avalanche take on the Canadiens in Montreal. The Canadiens are struggling this year, and they don’t shoot a ton, so the upside will be limited here, but he should get a win. In deeper GPP, it’s better to go elsewhere.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen – Buffalo Sabres: The Sabres head to Toronto tonight to take on the Leafs, who have been just OK recently. They are not generating as many chances as you would expect. However, both teams in this game are allowing a lot of chances and both teams shoot quite a bit. Luukkonen should see some shot volume, and since Toronto is going to be popular, this is a good leverage play.

Other Goalie Notes: It’s a short slate, so correlating your goalies with stacks isn’t a bad idea. The two goalies above are definitely ones that you can focus on, but don’t be afraid to take some chances elsewhere. For example, if you fade Colorado, take a chance on Allen, or fade Dallas and take a chance on Grubauer. No goalie is off limits tonight (but that doesn’t mean any of them are great).

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen/Evan Rodrigues/Cale Makar: This line will be popular tonight, for very, very good reason. They should see a lot of the second line for the Canadiens tonight in a very juicy matchup. You can add JT Compher into this stack wherever you see fit to be different and create a power play look.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Buffalo Sabres 2 – Dylan Cozens/Jack Quinn/JJ Peterka: This second line for Buffalo should see a bunch of the Matthews line tonight in a high event matchup. The top line for Toronto allows quite a few chances, both standard and high danger, setting this line up for an interesting night.

Montreal Canadiens 2 – Jonathan Drouin/Josh Anderson/Mike Hoffman: This line, matched up against the top Colorado line, is in a very interesting spot. For as good as the top Colorado line is on offense, they are giving up tons of shots and chances. Georgiev, who should be fairly popular tonight, has some holes in his stats, so there is upside to be had here.

Seattle Kraken 1 – Matty Beniers/Jordan Eberle/Jared McCann: In their last game, the Kraken matched this line to the third line for the Stars. That should set up a nice matchup for this line tonight, so long as they run the same matching schemes. Make sure Eberle is in before committing to this line, though. He may be out.

Dallas Stars 2 – Wyatt Johnson/Evgenii Dadonov/Jamie Benn: This line should see the third line for the Kraken in a decent matchup. It’s not a great matchup, but could be a sneaky play tonight on a volatile slate.

Another Tuesday, another large 10 game slate. There appears to be a lot of lopsided games tonight, so it should be interesting trying to break this one down. Let’s find the best NHL DFS plays for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders: This looks like a very good spot tonight for Sorokin, who has been very solid of late. The Sabres are on the back end of a back to back, which is a good target for trying to find a goalie. The Sabres also have been shooting quite a bit, which should help the upside here.

Filip Gustavsson – Minnesota Wild: The Wild host the Flames tonight, and Gus has had some very nice looking numbers. The Flames are also on a back to back, which makes this play a little nicer.

John Gibson – Anaheim Ducks: Gibby and the Ducks take on the Kraken tonight, and this is definitely a high risk pick. However, while the Kraken have been winning, they are only scoring 2.4 goals per game over their last five. Gibson has very solid numbers over the same stretch, and can definitely be used in deeper GPPs. There will definitely be some leverage in this play tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Carter Hart – Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers head to Tampa tonight to take on a Lightning team who is on a skid right now. This is a sneaky spot for a goalie who has been decent all year, but is on a terrible team. This one is more about leverage in the right spot than it is about upside, even though the real Tampa team should fire away.

Others to Consider: Karel Vejmelka (ARI), Antti Raanta (CAR), Tristan Jarry (PIT), Sergei Bobrovsky (FLA), Alexandar Georgiev (COL)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 – Sidney Crosby/Jake Guentzel/Rickard Rakell/Kris Letang: The Pens host the Blue Jackets tonight in a nice matchup, and this top line should see their depth lines. That sets up a really nice matchup for them.

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Valeri Nichushkin/Artturi Lehkonen/Cale Makar: The Avs face the Sharks tonight in what is a nice looking matchup for them and this top line. They should see the top line for the Sharks in a very nice matchup. Throw Kahkonen in net, and this line could be lethal tonight.

Carolina Hurricanes Power Play – Sebastian Aho/Andrei Svechnikov/Martin Necas/Stefan Noesen/Brent Burns: Carolina has a very, very juicy spot tonight against the Canadiens, who have been struggling on defense. This unit gets the 28th ranked penalty killing unit, and the Canadiens take the 9th most penalties in the league. When playing this unit, make sure you get a piece of the second line (Necas) in there.

New York Islanders 1 – Bo Horvat/Pierre Engvall/Anders Lee/Noah Dobson: This top line has a date with the Sabres’ second line tonight in what should be a fantastic matchup for them. The upside here looks really nice, and they should see their fair share of chances. Palmieri and Nelson can also be mixed and matched in this setup to create a power play look.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Kevin Hayes/Wade Allison/James van Riemsdyk: This is a great leverage spot, as the Lightning have been on an absolute skid, giving up 3.4 goals against per game over their last five.

Florida Panthers 2 – Sam Bennett/Matthew Tkachuk/Carter Verhaeghe: The Panthers take on the Golden Knights tonight in Florida, and this line has been the better scoring line for the Cats. They are in a decent spot tonight.

New Jersey Devils 1 – Nico Hischier/Tomas Tatar/Dawson Mercer/Dougie Hamilton: This top line should be paired up against the Toronto top line all night long, setting them up for a very juicy matchup. This should be a high event game, with some weak goaltending, so there should be a lot of scoring here. Consider a power play look here as well, as both top lines are in a decent spot.

Arizona Coyotes 1 – Barrett Hayton/Nick Schmaltz/Clayton Keller/Juuso Valimaki: The Coyotes are in a good spot against a bad St. Louis team. Since this is the only productive line out of Arizona right now, we can keep it simple with this play. Risky? Of course, but there should be some chances here.

Seattle Kraken 2 – Alex Wennberg/Oliver Bjorkstrand/Jaden Schwartz: If you choose not to play Gibson in net, then you can definitely give this line a look tonight. They should have a straight up matchup against Anaheim 2, setting them up for a lot of chances. Gibson has been good, so there is risk, but they are worth a shot if you are playing multiple lineups.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: STL1, MIN2, TOR1, TBLPP

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Alex Wennberg ($3400) – Seattle Kraken

Wing: Pierre Engvall ($3200) – New York Islanders

March has kicked off with a bang! Lots of moves at the trade deadline gave us some interesting new looks. Something to keep in mind this time of year is that things will take a little bit to settle out after the trades all throughout the NHL. Tonight gives us a nice little six game slate with some guys on new teams. Let’s check out our DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Cam Talbot – Ottawa Senators: The Sens have been red hot lately, and they get a very nice matchup tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks, who are running a minor league roster after the trade deadline. Talbot is a fairly safe play, but may not see a lot of upside.

Thatcher Demko – Vancouver Canucks: Both teams in this Nashville/Vancouver game have been allergic to scoring of late, so you can use either goalie in this game, depending on your salary/build.

Pheonix Copley – Los Angeles Kings: Copley gets a date with the Caps tonight, who have been scoring. That presents a little bit of risk in this play, but it is definitely intriguing. There should be some upside volume here.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Craig Anderson – Buffalo Sabres: The Sabres are hosting the Oilers tonight, who are only scoring 2.4 goals per game over their last five. This is a very low number for a team that can be explosive. Anderson should see a ton of volume, and the Sabres have been allowing a ton of chances, so the upside is there. The risk is of course that it’s Edmonton and they can blow up for 8 goals on any given night.

Others to Consider: Juuse Saros (NSH), David Rittich (WPG)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Ottawa Senators 1 – Tim Stutzle/Claude Giroux/Brady Tkachuk/Thomas Chabot: As mentioned above, the Sens have been red hot, and this is the line doing the damage. They have a fantastic spot tonight against the Blackhawks, and there is no reason to think they can’t keep it up. They should be fairly heavily owned, but for very good reason. Debrincat with this line makes the power play unit, which is another way you can approach them.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Buffalo Sabres 1 – Tage Thompson/Jack Quinn/Jeff Skinner/Rasmus Dahlin: The Sabres’ top line has been playing well of late, and they get an interesting home date with the Oilers tonight. This should be a high event game, and Edmonton can certainly be scored on. Skinner for the Oilers has some recent numbers that aren’t too great, so this looks like a really nice leverage spot.

Dallas Stars 2 – Wyatt Johnson/Evgenii Dadonov/Jamie Benn: This second line will see a bunch of the top line for the Flames in a plus matchup. The numbers for this matchup aren’t astounding, but there is some reason to believe that they should see some decent chances tonight. DAL3 is intriguing as well, but are even riskier.

Winnipeg Jets 3 – Adam Lowry/Vladislav Namestnikov/Morgan Barron: This line has a fantastic matchup tonight against the top line for the Sharks. They also get Reimer in net, who has been rough recently. This could very well be a top value line tonight.

Ottawa Senators 3 – Dylan Gambrell/Julien Gauthier/Mathieu Joseph: This play is strictly about opportunity. Line matching suggests that this line will see the top Hawks’ line all night, which sets them up for a bunch of chances.

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Viktor Arvidsson/Kevin Fiala: The Kings’ second line has a nice matchup tonight against the top line for the Capitals. That top line is allowing tons of chances, so there should be plenty of opportunity for scoring for this line tonight.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: EDMPP, DAL1, LAK1, WSH2, SJS2, WPG1

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Adam Lowry ($2900) – Winnipeg Jets

Wing: Evgenii Dadonov ($2800) – Dallas Stars

Defense: Rasmus Sandin ($3300) – Washington Capitals

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Adam Lowry ($4100) – Winnipeg Jets

Wing: Mathieu Joseph ($4400) – Ottawa Senators

Defense: Tyler Myers ($4100) – Vancouver Canucks

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Connor McDavid – Edmonton Oilers

Wing: Brady Tkachuk – Ottawa Senators

Defense: Josh Morrissey – Winnipeg Jets

Goalie: Cam Talbot – Ottawa Senators

The final Tuesday slate of February brings us a healthy 10 game slate. There will be a lot of places to go tonight, so we will get right into it. Let’s find the best NHL DFS plays for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: The Bruins were just in Edmonton last night, where Swayman got a win. With that being said, Ullmark should be in line to face the Flames tonight. We may not know for sure until later today, so make sure you keep an eye on news. This is a great upside spot for a goalie who has been solid all year long.

Andre Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning: Vas gets the Florida Panthers at home tonight in what should be a really nice upside spot for him. The Panthers are shooting a ton recently, and Vas is one of the best.

Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators: The Preds host the Penguins tonight, who exploded in their last game. This should be a decent leverage spot, as there should be some shot volume and some upside. Saros has solid numbers recently.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Karel Vejmelka – Arizona Coyotes: The Coyotes host the Chicago Blackhawks tonight in a very interesting game. Both of these teams are not very good overall, especially on defense. Neither team is good on offense either, but weirdly, both teams seem to be scoring of late. Vejmelka presents a decent play tonight, as Chicago is on the road on a back to back. There is definitely some risk here, as his numbers of late have been scary, but he is worth a look.

Others to Consider: Ville Husso (DET), Pheonix Copley (LAK), Filip Gustavsson (MIN)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Tampa Bay Lightning Power Play – Brayden Point/Steven Stamkos/Nikita Kucherov/Alex Killorn/Mikhail Sergachev: This is a fantastic spot for the second ranked power play unit in the league. The Panthers are second in times shorthanded per game, and they are ranked 27th on the penalty kill. There should be a ton of chances for this unit to capitalize tonight.

Arizona Coyotes 1 – Barrett Hayton/Nick Schmaltz/Clayton Keller/Juuso Valimaki: The Coyotes are in a good spot against a Chicago team who has a porous defense. This line is about the only line that produces for the Coyotes, and they have a solid matchup against the Domi line tonight, who give up tons of chances.

San Jose Sharks 2 – Tomas Hertl/Martin Kaut/Fabian Zetterlund: The Sharks host the Canadiens tonight, and this is a really nice spot for this second line. Kaut and Zetterlund are newly acquired, and they should take on the top six for the Candiens in a plus matchup.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Buffalo Sabres 2 – Dylan Cozens/Vinnie Hinostroza/Casey Mittelstadt: The Sabres are in a good spot up and down the lineup, and scoring might come from everywhere tonight. That is bad for DFS. However, with the top line probably garnering more ownership, this second line is very much in play in arguably a better matchup. The risk here is that scoring is in fact not concentrated enough to vault you up the board.

Columbus Blue Jackets 3 – Sean Kuraly/Eric Robinson/Mathieu Olivier: Speaking of risk, this line will have a ton of it. The even strength matchup dictates that they should have some chances. This is a play reserved for very deep GPP.

Seattle Kraken 3 – Yanni Gourde/Eeli Tolvanen/Oliver Bjorkstrand: Expect anything less? This third line has been on a tear recently, and they have a great matchup tonight against the depth lines for St. Louis. They should see plenty of chances and have some great upside potential.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: BOSPP, BUF1, OTT1, SJS1, SEA2

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Yanni Gourde ($3500) – Seattle Kraken

Wing: Martin Kaut ($2500) – San Jose Sharks

Defense: Caleb Jones ($3100) – Chicago Blackhawks

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Sean Kuraly ($3800) – Columbus Blue Jackets

Wing: Martin Kaut ($3100) – San Jose Sharks

Defense: Jonathan Kovacevic ($3800) – Montreal Canadiens

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Center: Tage Thompson – Buffalo Sabres

Wing: Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay Lightning

Defense: Erik Karlsson – San Jose Sharks

Goalie: Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins

Welcome to WinDaily’s NHL Man Advantage! We are just about through February, which means that the home stretch of the regular season is upon us. It’s also trade season, so it’s very, very important to keep an eye on the news over the next few days of NHL DFS. Trade season also means that things are a little more volatile, so it can be a little hectic (but FUN!). Let’s check out our DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: The B’s head to Edmonton tonight to take on the Oilers, and this is a risky, upside pick. Ullmark has been very solid all year long, and the Oilers should throw a ton of shots his way tonight. The Oilers are a dangerous team, but they have been scoring under 3 goals per game over their last five. The B’s have only given up 1.4 goals against per game in that same time frame, and Ullmark has a 0.944 SV% and a 1.67 GAA in that span.

Alexandar Georgiev – Colorado Avalanche: The Avs host Vegas tonight, and Geo has been solid over his last five. There may not be quite as much upside as Ullmark, but he is worth a look tonight.

Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars: The Stars host the Canucks tonight, who are allergic to scoring of late. This should be the safe goalie for cash. He can be used in GPP, but only if you have the salary to make it work. Don’t force this play into GPP lineups.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Ville Husso – Detroit Red Wings: The Wings head to Ottawa tonight, and this is a very interesting look. Husso has been inconsistent this year, but he has his spots, and this one feels like a spot where he will show up. Ottawa should fire away tonight, but Detroit has a chance at stealing a win.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Boston Bruins Power Play – Patrice Bergeron/Jake Debrusk/Brad Marchand/David Pastrnak/Charlie McAvoy: This unit was not going to be listed here, as Edmonton has been solid at even strength. However, the Oilers sport the 25th ranked penalty kill in the league, and they take the 4th most penalties per game. This game should be fairly tight, but the power play for Boston should be in a decent upside spot.

Detroit Red Wings 1 – Dylan Larkin/Tyler Bertuzzi/David Perron: The Wings head to Ottawa tonight, and this is a very interesting spot for this top line. They should see the likes of the top Ottawa line in a plus matchup. A small sample size says that this line has been dominating. They are a little risky, but Talbot in net gives them a really nice boost.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Chicago Blackhawks 1 – Max Domi/Andreas Athanasiou/Philipp Kurashev/Seth Jones: The Hawks are an interesting bunch tonight, especially this top line. It all depends on how Anaheim ends up matching their lines tonight. Usually, they throw the third line against the top line, which would set these guys up really nicely. If Patrick Kane ends up back in the lineup, then this line becomes even nicer.

Anaheim Ducks 1 – Trevor Zegras/Jakob Silfverberg/Ryan Strome/Cam Fowler: In the same game, the Ducks are in a really good spot as well. There should be a bunch of scoring in this game, but the problem is that it could be very spread out. The Ducks and Hawks are already at the point where they don’t have a lot to play for this season.

Vegas Golden Knights 3 – Chandler Stephenson/Phil Kessel/Will Carrier: The Knights’ third line has a very juicy matchup with the second Colorado line tonight. They could have a lot of upside value and can help you get to the higher priced lines. If you do go here, make sure not to stack against Georgiev.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: EDMPP, COL1, VAN1, DAL1

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Chandler Stephenson ($4000) – Vegas Golden Knights

Wing: Jakob Silfverberg ($3000) – Anaheim Ducks

Defense: Tyler Myers ($2900) – Vancouver Canucks

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Yanni Gourde ($4400) – Seattle Kraken

Wing: Jakob Pelletier ($3700) – Calgary Flames

Defense: Carson Soucy ($3700) – Seattle Kraken

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado Avalanche

Defense: Shea Theodore – Vegas Golden Knights

Goalie: Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars

Happy Tuesday! With no NBA to be played, both sites have given us some pretty massive prizes for NHL tonight ($50k to first on DraftKings!) We have a nice 9 game slate to break down, so we will get right into it. Let’s find the best NHL DFS plays for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning: The Lightning are in a great spot tonight and should be heavily owned. Vasilevskiy is your chalk and cash goalie on the night in a very good spot.

Ilya Samsonov – Toronto Maple Leafs: This is a good spot for Samsonov tonight, as the Leafs head to Buffalo to take on the Sabres. He has been solid this year and of late, and should see a decent amount of shots.

Frederik Andersen – Carolina Hurricanes: Freddie and the Canes face off against the Blues tonight on home ice. Andersen has been playing well and should see some decent shot volume tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Carter Hart – Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers are in Edmonton tonight, so this is the riskiest we can get. Hart hasn’t been amazing over his last few starts, but he does get an Edmonton team that has been struggling to generate chances over their last five. He should see a ton of shot volume, providing a potential for some nice upside.

Others to Consider: Filip Gustavsson (MIN), Pheonix Copley (LAK), Vitek Vanecek (NJD)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Tampa Bay Lightning Power Play – Brayden Point/Steven Stamkos/Brandon Hagel/Nikita Kucherov/Victor Hedman: The power play unit for the Lightning is in about the best spot you can be in for a slate. They are getting a Ducks team that is on a traveling back-to-back. The Ducks spend the 7th most amount of time on the penalty kill in the league, and their PK is ranked a dismal 29th. The Lightning power play is ranked 5th overall.

Toronto Maple Leafs 2 – Ryan O’Reilly/John Tavares/Mitch Marner: In a small sample, this second line is generating a ton of chances and should have a matchup tonight against the top two lines for the Sabres. Their better chances should come when they get the top line, but the whole matchup looks very good.

Carolina Hurricanes 3 – Jordan Staal/Jordan Martinook/Jesper Fast: One of the favorite lines around our Discord, the third line for Carolina has a fantastic matchup tonight against the top Blues’ line. That top Blues line is not very good on defense, and this line will be locked into them all night long. Yes, there is risk here, but this is way too juicy of a matchup, and will make you different in a GPP like the one that has $50k to first.

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – William Karlsson/Mike Amadio/Reilly Smith: The second line for the Knights will be matched up against the top line for the Blackhawks tonight in a very, very juicy matchup. Vegas has been playing well of late, putting up 4 goals per game over their last five.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Vegas Golden Knights 3 – Chandler Stephenson/Will Carrier/Phil Kessel: This is a very nice pivot from Carolina 3 above, and should provide some nice upside as well. This line should see a lot of the second line for the Hawks tonight.

New Jersey Devils Power Play – Nico Hischier/Ondrej Palat/Jesper Bratt/Jack Hughes/Dougie Hamilton: This 11th ranked unit has a really nice matchup against the 28th ranked penalty kill for the Canadiens tonight.

Nashville Predators 3 – Colton Sissons/Tanner Jeannot/Yakov Trenin: This third line should match up against the second line for the Canucks in a very nice matchup.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: TOR1, CAR1, EDMPP, VAN1

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: Jordan Staal ($3700) – Carolina Hurricanes

Wing: Will Carrier ($3800) – Vegas Golden Knights

Defense: Caleb Jones ($2800) – Chicago Blackhawks

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Colton Sissons ($3900) – Nashville Predators

Wing: Will Carrier($4500) – Vegas Golden Knights

Defense: Justin Holl ($3900) – Toronto Maple Leafs

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Center: Leon Draisaitl – Edmonton Oilers

Wing: Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay Lightning

Defense: Dougie Hamilton – New Jersey Devils

Goalie: Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay Lightning

Today, we get afternoon NHL games. It’s President’s Day, so the main slate starts at 1pm Eastern on DraftKings, and 4pm Eastern on FanDuel today. We have six total games to sift through, and it is very important to keep an eye on news through the day. Let’s check out our DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky – Florida Panthers: The Panthers host the Ducks today, who have been struggling all year long. On paper, this is a solid matchup for Bob and the Cats.

Jeremy Swayman – Boston Bruins: The B’s host the Senators tonight, who have been decent of late, but Swayman has been red hot. He is sporting a 0.65 GAA and 0.976 SV% over his last five games, which is an incredible stat line. He is probably due for some regression, but it is hard to see that happening today.

Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pens’ matchup tonight looks decent, and they get Jarry back from injury. He should be in a good spot tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Kevin Mandolese – Ottawa Senators: The Senators head to Boston today, and Mandolese’s numbers look pretty good, even though it’s a small sample. This is about as risky as it gets, though, as you have a green goalie going up against the best team in the league, and on the road. He should see some shot volume, and if he can stand tall, then this is a great upside play.

Others to Consider: Philipp Grubauer (SEA), Jacob Markstrom (CGY)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Florida Panthers 1 – Aleksander Barkov/Matthew Tkachuk/Carter Verhaeghe/Aaron Ekblad: The Panthers have a very nice matchup against the Ducks today, who are terrible defensively. This top line should be able to take advantage of their poor defense in a top six matchup.

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 – Sidney Crosby/Jake Guentzel/Rickard Rakell/Kris Letang: The Pens get a nice matchup tonight against the Islanders, and this top line should see plenty of chances against the top Islander line.

Seattle Kraken 3 – Yanni Gourde/Oliver Bjorkstrand/Eeli Tolvanen: Let’s get BOLD! This third line has a very nice matchup against the opposing third line for the Sharks tonight. Both teams are giving up a bunch of chances, and this line has been absolutely scorching in the right matchup. This game should feature some scoring, and this line should be able to get on the board.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Boston Bruins 3 – Charlie Coyle/Taylor Hall/Craig Smith: This line should spend a good bit of time against the top Ottawa line in a plus matchup. They make for a really interesting play today, and could be a very different way of getting access to Boston’s massive total. Of course, you don’t have to shy away from the top line or power play here.

Calgary Flames 2 – Nazem Kadri/Jonathan Huberdeau/Jakob Pelletier: This second line should be matched up with the second Philly line for the majority of the night, which is a very nice upside matchup.

New York Rangers 2 – Vincent Trocheck/Artemi Panarin/Jimmy Vesey: This second line should see a good bit of the top line for the Jets, who are giving up tons of chances in a small sample. This line should be able to take advantage of them tonight.

San Jose Sharks 1 – Tomas Hertl/Timo Meier/Kevin Labanc/Erik Karlsson: Keep an eye out to make sure that Meier plays tonight, because he is a huge part of this line. If he is out, then these guys are no longer a decent play.

It’s Super Bowl Monday! Now that the NFL season is officially over, we turn our full attention on the rest of the NHL season. Tonight, we have a nice little five game slate to get us started. Let’s check out our DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Kevin Lankinen – Nashville Predators: The Predators host the Coyotes tonight, which should be a fairly safe matchup for Lankinen. There may not be too much upside here, as the Coyotes are not exactly a high caliber shooting team. However, he should be able to get the win tonight.

Pheonix Copley – Los Angeles Kings: Copley is a riskier play, but he should see some decent shot volume and could rack up a ton of saves. He has some solid numbers recently, and should be in a good spot tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Mats Sogaard – Ottawa Senators: This pick is almost like a new pitcher pick – the opposing team hasn’t seen much on him and they don’t really know exactly what to expect. The Flames have been up and down all year, but they have been playing well of late, scoring 3 goals per game over their last five. This is a deep GPP play that could end up paying off if Ottawa can help their goalie out tonight.

Others to Consider: Sergei Bobrovsky (FLA)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Nashville Predators 1 – Cody Glass/Matt Duchene/Nino Niederreiter/Roman Josi: The Preds’ top line is in a great spot against the third line for the Coyotes tonight. They should have plenty of chances to score tonight and could end up with a multi-point night.

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Trevor Moore/Viktor Arvidsson: The Kings’ second line has a great matchup against the top line for the Sabres tonight, so long as the Sabres roll out the same lines. The Sabres haven’t been that bad on defense, but the rates here make this line a little sneaky and there is a very solid goalie matchup for them.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Los Angeles Kings 3 – Blake Lizotte/Alex Iafallo/Kevin Fiala: To get a little different, the Kings’ third line is also in play. They will be lower owned and provide some very good value tonight.

Calgary Flames 3 – Mikael Backlund/Andrew Mangiapane/Blake Coleman: The Flames’ third line has a solid matchup against the bottom six for the Senators tonight. On top of that, the Sens are rolling out a very green goalie in Sogaard.

Ottawa Senators 2 – Ridly Greig/Claude Giroux/Alex Debrincat: The Sens’ second line has a nice top six matchup in the same game and should see their chances tonight. Markstrom has been bad this year, and there could be some scoring in this game. However, Ottawa has been playing a little bit poorly recently, so they carry a bit of risk.

Vancouver Canucks 2 – J.T. Miller/Vasily Podkolzin/Conor Garland: The Canucks’ second line has been playing some solid hockey recently, and they get a good matchup against the Red Wings tonight on home ice. This line should see some of the second and third lines, but probably carry the most risk of this list.
