New York Rangers

Welcome to the Saturday Slapshot where I’ll be highlighting some of my top plays for tonight’s NHL DFS slate on Fanduel and DraftKings.  Tonight we have a solid-looking 9 game slate.

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

Goaltending

Igor Shesterkin ($8.4k DK/$8.1k FD) vs. Arizona Coyotes – This is about as high of a salary for a goalie as I’ll go.  While the Coyotes have been scoring more goals of late, it hasn’t been against the stiffest of competition.  In the games they scored more than 3 goals, they were facing teams like the Canadiens and Blackhawks.  Last night they were shut out by a solid defensive Islanders team.

While the Rangers aren’t a defensive juggernaut, they have one of the best goalies in the NHL in Shesterkin.  Since November 1, Shesterkin has just 2 games under 10 DK points.  He has a .938 save % on the year and has to be in the Vezina conversation.  After struggling a bit to start the game vs. Maple Leafs on Wednesday Shesterkin settled down nicely to finish the game with 35 saves and a Win.  There’s a very real chance he makes the Coyotes go back-to-back games without a goal.  Love the spot tonight for Igor.

Jacob Markstrom ($7.7k DK/$7.8k FD) vs. Edmonton Oilers – Something is wrong with the Oilers and until they fix it, we can attack them with goalies.  Over the last month, what should be a dynamic NHL offense, this team has mustered just 2.29 goals per game.  Of the 18 teams on tonight’s slate, that’s the lowest number.  Now some of this can be attributed to scheduling conflicts due to covid, but I’m still going to attack them until they prove me wrong.

In Markstrom, we have someone that has been up and down this season.  At times he’s been brutal, but at times he’s been remarkable, as evidenced by his 28 save performance vs. the Panthers team that had been coming into the game scoring goals at will.  Because it’s the Oilers, this is a risky spot.  That said, I do like the spot tonight and Markstrom has a chance to be one of the top goalies on the night.

After those 2 goalie gets a little murky.  Whoever gets the nod tonight for Minnesota should do well against a Blackhawks team that is anemic right now.  Darcy Kuemper is also in a good spot tonight but he’s very pricey.  I just can’t live with myself paying $8.5k for him on DK tonight.  That’s just too much, even with a matchup against a poor Canadiens squad.  I’d rather take my chances with  Markstrom tonight.

Stacks

I don’t need to tell you how good of a spot it is for the Avalanche tonight.  Montreal is dreadful and giving up more than 4 goals per game over their last 8 games.  They are one of the worst teams in the NHL. The top line of MacKinnon, Landeskog, and Rantanen is always in play and tonight is no different.  They are in a great spot tonight but are extremely pricey.  If you can fit them, go for it.

Calgary 1 (Elias Lindholm, Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau)

I highlighted above that the Oilers have been struggling offensively.  That actually pales in comparison to how bad they’ve been on the defensive side.  Of the 18 teams on tonight’s NHL DFS slate, no team has a higher goals against average over the last month than the Oilers.  As a team, you stand no chance of winning if you are giving up 4.71 goals per game.  Their goalies have been atrocious as they have an 84.86 save percentage over that period.

While such a low number like that isn’t necessarily sustainable and there will be regression, it’s still something that we want to attack.  This top-line for Calgary is still very affordable.  The most expensive player in this stack is Gaudreau at $6.7k on DK.  My priorities here are going to be Tkachuk and Gaudreau.  The two have combined for 14 points, 40 scoring chances, and 20 high danger chances over their last 5 games.  I’m not overly interested in any of the defensemen from this team.

New York Rangers 1 (Kreider/Zibanejad/Kaako) + Fox

This could be the homer in me, but I love the spot for the Rangers tonight.  They struggled in Carolina against the Hurricanes last night but get to go back to the Garden tonight against a much lesser opponent in the Coyotes.  My priority with this stack is Kreider.  He is red hot right now as he has 5 goals in his last 5 games.  Over those 5 games, he has 14 high danger chances and 19 scoring chances.  The duo of Zibanejad and Kreider have been extremely lethal this season and love pairing them together tonight.

Carolina 2 (Trocheck/Svechnikov/Niederreiter)  + Slavin

My final favorite stack tonight brings us to Newark, NJ with the Carolina Hurricanes.  Goaltending for the Devils has been a struggle of late as they’ve let in 3.5 goals per game over the past month.  With Blackwood expected to be in the net today, I love this sport for the Hurricanes.  Over his last 10 starts, he’s failed to give up less than 3 goals just once.

While the Hurricanes’ offense is always tough to gauge, I really like their second line tonight.  The pairing of Trocheck and Svechnikov have combined for 10 points over their past 5 games and 30 scoring chances.  Slavin makes a nice compliment to this stack as he’s only $4.3k on DK and he’s getting us some ancillary stats as he’s averaging more than 4 shots + blocks per game.

Other stacks (Min 1, Tor 1, Ari 2, Ott 1, Was 1, Col 2, TB 1 and 2, SJ 1)

Top Value Defenseman

  • Christopher Tanev
  • Kris Russell
  • David Savard
  • Calvin De Haan
  • Moritz Seider
  • Ben Chiarot
  • Adam Pelech
  • Scott Mayfield

Summary

We have some solid spots to attack tonight.  I didn’t write them up, but I love Minnesota again tonight.  They made for a profitable night last night and get the same matchup tonight, but at home and vs. a lesser goalie.  Their top line of Hartman and Kaprizov would be the place to go, but they are pricey.  Another spot I didn’t write up is Washington vs. Ottawa.  Ovechkin should add to his tally and get closer in his chase of the great one.  There are a lot of great spots for offense tonight and it has the makings of a very high-scoring night.

Make sure to use our optimizer when setting lineups!

Welcome to the Saturday Slapshot.  I’m Jared and I’ll be your host.  Tonight we have a massive 12 game slate where I’ll be highlighting some of my top plays for tonight’s NHL slate on Fanduel and Draftkings.

Before we dive in I want to highlight some terms you’ll see in my article that may be foreign to you:

  • Corsi – Any shot attempt (goals, shots on net, misses and blocks) outside of the shootout
  • Even Strength – Play where both teams have the same number of players (including goalies) on the ice. Includes 5v5, 4v4, 3v3
  • Power Play – Play where the team has more players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 5v4, 5v3, 4v3
  • Penalty Kill – Play where the team has fewer players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 4v5, 3v4, 3v5

Goaltending

Andrei Vasilevskiy ($7.7k DK/$8.7k FD) vs. Florida Panthers – Tonight we’re getting Vasilevskiy in a spot where he can put up a ton of points for us.  The Panthers shoot the puck, and they shoot the puck a lot.  Over the last 2 weeks they’ve been shooting the puck almost 37 times again.  While there is a good chance they put a puck or 2 behind Vasilevskiy tonight, there’s also a great chance that Vasilevskiy gets us over 30 saves.

In looking at Vasilevskiy’s stats this year he’s been extremely solid.  He has a 2.35 GAA and a .920 save %.  Both extremely solid numbers.  We’re getting a goalie here who has been over $8k at times this season so we have a bit of a discount.  Lightning are slight favorites in this one and I do expect them to come out on top thanks to the solid goaltending of Vasilevskiy.

Robin Lehner ($8.1k DK/$8.4k FD) vs. Vancouver Canucks – I’ve been riding Lehner quite a bit this season.  The Golden Knights give up a high volume of shots and that’s what we like to see for our goaltenders in DFS.  Especially our goalies that are solid between the pipes.  On the year Lehner has a near .920 save % and has only giving up 2.72 goals per game.  He has more than 31 saves per game and that’s big for us.  Since the end of October he’s had only 1 game under 15 DK points.  He’s been solid for us and I’m going to keep riding him tonight.

Igor Shesterkin ($7.9k DK/$8.1k FD) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets – The only reason the Rangers are 4 games over .500 this year is due to the solid goaltending of Shesterkin.  Nightly he faces a barrage of shots and has been successful in turning most of them away.  Rangers have been giving up close to 38 shots per game over the past 2 weeks.  In their last game against Florida they gave up 45 shots and Shesty was able to turn away 42 of them.

While the Blue Jackets offense is nowhere near the same level of the Panthers, I do expect them to get a ton of shots through to the Shesty tonight with Shesty turning almost all of them away.  Shesterkin is my favorite goalie on the night.

Stacks

I’m going to start by saying that the duo of Auston Matthews and William Nylander present the most upside of any pairing tonight.  They face a team in the Sabres that has come back to earth after a really solid start.  If you decide to go that route tonight I can’t blame you.  My goal here is to provide you with other options and that’s what I’m going to do.

Nashville 1 (Granlund/Kunin/Duchene/Josi)

Let’s get this out of the way.  The Coyotes are bad.  Very, very bad.  They have one of the wort corsi %’s of any team playing tonight.  Over the last 2 weeks they have a corsi % of less than 42%.  If they’re on the ice I plan on targeting them w/ an opposing line.  Tonight I’m going to target them with the top line for Nashville.

Matt Duchene has been playing extremely well over the last couple of weeks.  He has goals in 6 of his last 8 games and stands an excellent chance of getting one tonight too.  My 2 locks from this stack are Granlund and Duchene as they correlate at even strength and the power play.  If I need the salary savings tonight, I’ll also look to add in Kunin but he’s not a must.

Ottawa 1 (Norris/Tkachuk/Sanford/Chabot)

The Penguins are not a solid defensive team.  Over the last 2 weeks they have been giving up close to 38 shots per game.  Tonight in net they expect to have Casey DeSmith.  I just don’t see DeSmith as someone that can handle that type of volume. He’s played in only 2 games this year and has given up 4 and 5 goals.

If DeSmith does in fact play tonight, the Senators become my favorite stack of the night.  To go deeper on that thought, Brady Tkachuk becomes my favorite play of the night.  Over the last 2 weeks he’s been firing on net often as he’s averaging more than 4 shots per game.  The duo of Tkachuk and Norris should find success tonight.

Minnesota 1 (Eriksson Ek/Foligno/Fiala/Spurgeon)

Another team that I enjoy attacking is the Seattle Kraken.  It’s been a struggle for them in their inaugural season.  They’ve been giving up more than 3.6 goals per game on the year and it’s been even worst than that of late.  Over the last 2 weeks that’s ballooned to more than 4 per game.  I had a tough time choosing between the top 2 lines of Minnesota and I wouldn’t fault you for going with line 2.  Their top line is just playing just a bit better of late.  Foligno is a great value as he’s only $3.4k on DK and is someone that has shown the ability to put the puck in the net.

Other stacks (Colorado 1, Winnipeg 1, Detroit 1, New York 1, LA 2, Vegas 1)

Top Defenseman

  • Zach Werenski – Columbus Blue Jackets
  • Adam Fox – New York Rangers
  • Brent Burns – San Jose Sharks
  • Ben Chiarot – Montreal Canadiens
  • Mario Ferraro – San Jose Sharks

Summary

We have one of our biggest slates of the year tonight with 12 games on tap.  While playing a guy like Matthews makes a ton of sense tonight, he’s the only forward priced over $9k and I will more than likely fade.  My plan tonight is to go with a more balanced approach to my lineup as we have some fairly priced stacks in prime spots.

NHL Betting Picks Thursday 5/6

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Thursday 5/6. The Model bounced back going 2-0 last night. The Golden Knights needed OT to finish the Wild with a nice Pietrangelo finisher. The Jets absolutely dominated the Flames winning 4-0, a nice momentum building win leading to playoffs. With the Habs losing to the Sens it is also setting up a Leafs-Habs first round matchup, which is what everyone wants. Also, that Rangers/Caps game was electric. 3 fights off the opening faceoff, 6 fights in the first period, Wilson with an ‘upper-body’ injury in the 2nd, Buchnevich cross-checking Mantha in the face. I mean look at the Caps box after the 6th fight.

Image

This game had quite the playoff/revenge vibe and I loved every second of it. Playoffs are right around the corner let’s finish off this regular season strong.

We have 6 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Penguins Money Line (-345) and Puck Line (-1.5, -148) over the Sabres
  • Hurricanes Money Line (-295) over the Blackhawks
  • Bruins Money Line (-225) over the Rangers
  • Rangers Puck Line (+1.5, -139) over the Bruins
  • Rangers/Bruins Under (5.5, -113)
  • Islanders Money Line (-250) over the Devils
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-220) over the Canadiens
  • Oilers Puck Line (-1.5, -118) and Money Line (-286) over the Canucks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. Every single money line is -220 or greater for the favorites tonight. We are getting into that time of year with big discrepancies as teams who are eliminated are testing rookies and different lineups for next year, and resting players with nagging injuries. We look to the over/unders and puck lines to get some value tonight.

My Picks

Bruins -1.5 (+125): Finally a pick I absolutely love, which means it will definitely lose (kidding). The Rangers, who are eliminated from the playoffs already, had their Super Bowl last night and are probably emotionally exhausted. The Bruins want to keep winning to move up in the standings and maybe get home ice. When looking at the PL numbers the Rangers are good over the whole course of the season and the B’s are slightly above average. However over the last month it is reversed with the Rangers only +1.9u on the PL and the Bruins are +9u. I like getting this at plus money and we are riding heavy tonight.

Blackhawks +1.5 (+108): Chicago is trending downwards losing 2 straight matchups to Carolina by more than a goal. However throughout the course of the season they have done pretty well covering against Carolina. With Chicago rotating goalies lately it is a bit of a risk to take this without that being confirmed, but we should get Lankinen in net tonight. The Canes are 43% covering -1.5 and the Blackhawks are 58% covering +1.5, which would suggest a better than 50% chance the Blackhawks cover. With that probability and getting the +1.5 at plus money, we have to ride with this tonight.

NHL Betting Picks Saturday 4/3

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Saturday 4/3. The Model went 2-1, technically 2-2 if you count my extremely biased Devils ML play that I only took because I was at the game. I still don’t know how that Avs/Blues over didn’t hit, but at least we got Coyotes ML and our dog Sharks ML. Not a bad night.

We have 11 games on the NHL slate today starting with 2 games at 1:00. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Penguins Money Line (+100) over the Bruins
  • Lightning Puck Line (-1.5, -137) over the Red Wings
  • Canadiens Puck Line (-1.5, +108) over the Bruins
  • Hurricanes Money Line (-155) over the Stars
  • Panthers Money Line (-159) over the Blue Jackets
  • Rangers Puck Line (-1.5, +100) and Money Line (-250) over the Sabres
  • Islanders Puck Line (-1.5, +143) over the Flyers
  • Islanders/Flyers Over (5.5, -120)
  • Avalanche Puck Line (-1.5, +102) over the Blues

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight.

My Picks

Free Picks

Flyers/Islanders Over 5.5 (-120): The Flyers are on a sharp downward trajectory and they are letting in goals at an alarmingly high rate over the last month (75 goals, 4.4 goals/game). The Islanders who don’t usually score goals have actually been generating a high number of chances and goals. The Flyers hit their overs at 82% on the road (highest in the league) and the Islanders hit their overs at 71% at home, so let’s get some goals here.

Rangers -1.5 (+100): We are going to give this another try today. The Rangers won in OT on Thursday but dominated the game. They are facing the better goaltender for Buffalo in Ullmark. They led Buffalo in High Danger Chances (19-8), Scoring Chances (29-17) and Expected Goals (3.38-1.88). Getting this at even odds is great which is why we are taking it tonight.

Premium Pick

Senators ML (+215): I hate doing this but the edge is there. The Senators have given the Canadiens all sorts of trouble this season winning 3 of their 5 meetings. Do they have any business winning this game? Nope. But The Model has their line priced +175 so there is a monster edge on the +215 line which forces my hand here.

NHL Betting Picks Thursday 4/1

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Thursday 4/1. An easy 1-0 day for The Model last night with Toronto easily beating Winnipeg 3-1. Both of the leans hit too with Colorado dummying Arizona 9-3 and the over hitting before the 1st period ended, and LA as a +190 dog beating Vegas 4-2. I got ratted from Tuesday or else I would’ve took those. Of course that happens. Whatever, on to today.

We have 9 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Dashboard 1

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Lightning Puck Line (-1.5, -108) over the Blue Jackets
  • Rangers Money Line (-250) and Puck Line (-1.5, +110) over the Sabres
  • Panthers Money Line (-245) over the Red Wings
  • Canadiens Puck Line (-1.5, +132) over the Senators
  • Penguins Money Line (+107) over the Bruins
  • Hurricanes Money Line (-162) over the Blackhawks
  • Predators Money Line (+108) over the Stars
  • Wild Puck Line (+1.5, -200) over the Golden Knights

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight.

My Picks

Free Picks

Rangers -1.5 (+110): The Sabres are on cloud 9 after finally getting a win last night. The bad news is they face a red hot Rangers team tonight. The Rangers are +9.32u on the puck line on the road this season and the Sabres are -10.67u at home, a 19u difference. That alone makes me like it but throw in the fact the Sabres won last night, are probably not playing Ullmark because of a B2B, and the Rangers hot streak of late just makes me love it even more. This seems like a no-brainer.

Capitals/Islanders Over 5.5 (+105): The Capitals rank second in the NHL in total goals this season (6.2), while the Isles rank second-to-last (5.12). However the Islanders hit their over 68.75% of the time at home. The Caps have a lot of shooting talent leading the league in Goals Scored Above Expected. They’ve scored 3, 6, and 3 goals respectively in 3 matchups with the Islanders this season. The over has only hit in 1 of those matchups but I like getting the 5.5 number at plus money.

Premium Pick

Lightning -1.5 (-108): The Lightning lost against Columbus on Tuesday, but the numbers still suggest they should beat them by more than a goal. The good news is we have Vasilevskiy in net so that should improve the defensive side of things. The Lightning are +10.39u on the puck line at home this season and Columbus is -7.72u on the road. Tampa have yet to cover the puck line against Columbus this year which scares me a little bit, however I think they come out with some force tonight and get it done.

NHL Betting Picks Monday 3/8

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Monday 3/8. An easy 1-0 night for The Model as the Penguins took care of their business against the Rangers winning by a score of 5-1.

We have 6 games on the slate today let’s take a look at the profitability and over win percentages of the teams playing tonight.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Sharks Puck Line (+1.5, -182) over the Blues
  • Sharks/Blues Over Goals (6, -114)
  • Kings Money Line (-124) over the Ducks
  • Canadiens Puck Line (-1.5, +165) over the Canucks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies. The starting goalies are most crucial in the Canucks/Canadiens game as there would be advantage for MTL if we get Allen/Holtby, and a strong advantage for VAN if we get Price/Demko.

My Picks

Free Picks

Sharks Blues Over 6 Goals (-114): We have a dream goalie matchup for this over in Dubnyk/Husso. Both of these teams are top 4 in total goals/game this season and love getting it at this 6 number.

Wild ML +100: Minnesota played two good games against Vegas last week but lost both. The Golden Knights are expected to be without top player Mark Stone and that gives me enough reason to believe Minnesota can come out tonight and get a win.

Premium Pick

Kings ML -124: Los Angeles has had a pretty good streak of games the last couple of weeks before regressing a little bit last week. We have Petersen in goal who has surprisingly been posting better numbers than the netminder confirmed for the Ducks (John Gibson). The Ducks struggle in all areas of play and I think getting the Kings at this number provides good value.

NHL Betting Picks Saturday 3/6

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Saturday 3/6. Another undefeated night for The Model as the Bruins and the Wild handedly won their contests against the Capitals and Coyotes respectively. I also took the Blues the night before because I saw good value only for Husso to be named starter at noon on Friday and ruin all the value I had. Down 2-1 with a minute left they tied it then won it in OT. I am too hot for my own good right now.

We have a monster 12 game slate today let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Rangers Puck Line (-1.5, +210) over the Devils
  • Islanders Puck Line (-1.5, +123), Money Line (-210) and Under (5, +118) over the Sabres
  • Flyers Puck Line (+1.5, -265) and Over (6, -117) over the Penguins
  • Panthers Money Line (-141) over the Predators
  • Wild Puck Line (-1.5, +188) over the Coyotes
  • Jets Money Line (+120) over the Canadiens
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-200) over the Canucks
  • Avalanche Money Line (-245) over the Ducks
  • Kings Puck Line (+1.5, -265) over the Blues
  • Golden Knights Money Line (-210) over the Sharks

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies. We have 4 back-to-backs today so expect different goalie usage today compared to yesterday, especially with this condensed schedule. If I wasn’t a Devils fan I would most likely take the Rangers today as the Devils are in a full free fall, so take that for what it’s worth.

My Picks

Free Picks

Maple Leafs in Regulation (-124): Toronto is arguably the best team in the NHL coming off a loss Thursday to Vancouver. Look for them to bounce back tonight. Toronto should have the goaltending edge if Holtby goes for Vancouver. Look for Matthews to get back on the board tonight and carry his team to victory. There isn’t much value on the money line, which is why I took the regulation pick.

Oilers Money Line (-132): The Oilers are coming off an embarrassing 3 game skid to the Maple Leafs not earning a single point. Calgary just fired their coach on Thursday, with their new coach not being able to join the team until next week. Look for Edmonton to come out strong in what I expect to be an excellent Battle of Alberta. McDavid can only be quiet for so long before he erupts, and I expect that to happen tonight.

Premium Pick

Flyers/Penguins Over 6 Goals (-110): These 2 teams love scoring against each other with the over hitting in all 4 matchups they have played this season. I love getting this at 6 and am hoping for a 5th straight hit.

NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 3/3

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Wednesday 3/3. Another 2-1 night, with the biggest surprise coming in that Sabres/Rangers Under. Four goals in the first period made me think that was a lost cause, only to have one more goal scored the rest of the game and hit the under. The Penguins pumped the Flyers, it happens. And then the Jets did exactly what I thought and took care of business with another poor night from Braden Holtby.

We have 6 games on the slate today, lets take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing tonight.

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Capitals Puck Line (+1.5, -225) over the Bruins
  • Maple Leafs Money Line (-112) over the Oilers
  • Ducks Puck Line (+1.5, -220) over the Blues
  • Blues Money Line (-150) over the Ducks
  • Kings Puck Line (+1.5, -275) over the Coyotes

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies today. The Leafs get back beauty Auston Matthews and goaltender Frederik Andersen, although they haven’t needed them lately beating the Oilers by a combined score of 7-0 in their past two games.

My Picks

Free Picks

Wild ML +129: These two teams played on Monday with Vegas scoring three unanswered goals to win in OT. Vegas has not looked great as of late and think the books are slightly overvaluing them. The Model shows this at about a 50/50 game which means we are getting decent value on Minnesota.

Avalanche in Regulation -130: The Avalanche are the significantly better team and they just got pumped by the Sharks 6-2 on Monday. This is a clear bounce back game for the Avs, even with a couple injuries on defense, and I like them to take care of business in regulation as there is no value on the money line.

Premium Picks

Blues/Ducks Under 5.5 Goals -114: This game went over on Monday (5-4, 9 total goals) and we played it mostly due to St. Louis’ backup goalie Ville Husso who didn’t let us down allowing 4 goals. Tonight St. Louis is going back with Jordan Binnington. Anaheim hits less than 40% of their overs and average only 4.88 total goals per game (goals for plus goals against). They specifically struggle on offense only scoring 2.01 goals/game. This looks like a good bounce back spot for the under.

NHL Betting Picks Sunday 2/28

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Sunday 2/28. A 1-2 day yesterday as Matt Murray let us down by giving up some goals you and me could’ve saved in the Senators/Flames tilt. A good win with the Flyers money line, and then a questionable goal was scored with 10 minutes left in the Golden Knights/Ducks game that pushed it to OT with Vegas ultimately winning. You be the judge if this look like a high stick:

Looks like a high stick to me, but I digress.

Today we have 6 games let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentage for the teams playing today:

To interact with the dashboard click this link.

Dashboard Edges

  • Flyers Money Line (-175) and Puck Line (-1.5, +148) against the Sabres
  • Blackhawks Money Line (-195) against the Red Wings
  • Islanders Puck Line (-1.5, +220) against the Penguins

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies. Not too much to love on the board but there is one play I do like.

My Pick

Blackhawks/Red Wings Over 5.5 Goals: Coming off a 5-3 game yesterday (8 total goals), it’s easy to think that this game will regress to the mean and go under. However, the Red Wings are starting one of the worst goalies in the league this season in Thomas Griess. The Blackhawks are starting rookie Kevin Lankinen who started the season great before having a couple of shaky performances lately. The Blackhawks will come out strong knowing they can’t lose back-to-back games against the Red Wings and I think the over hits again today.

NHL Betting Picks Friday 2/26

Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Friday 2/26. A 1-1 night with our underdog Winnipeg Jets climbing out of a 3-1 hole to score 5 unanswered in a 6-3 win against the Montreal Canadiens. A FIFTH straight profitable night for The Model, let’s see if we can get to 6 in a row.

Only 3 games on the slate today let’s take a look at the profitability and over win percentage for the teams playing tonight:

To interact with the dashboard click here.

Dashboard Edges

  • Rangers Puck Line (+1.5, -186) over the Bruins
  • Bruins Money Line (-165) over the Rangers
  • Kings/Wild Over 5.5 Goals (-103)

Keep an eye out for the Starting Goalies before placing your bets. A weak slate with pretty solid pricing from the books makes me not want to touch any money lines tonight, therefore my pick will be on an over/under.

My Pick:

Kings/Wild Over 5.5 Goals (-103): The Kings have been one of the luckiest teams in the past couple of weeks and sport a 5-game winning streak. They currently have the 3rd highest High Danger Save Percentage, a number that is not sustainable for a team like the Kings. They are 30th in Expected Goals For% and High Danger Chances For. The Wild are coming off a 6 goal effort against an elite team in the Avalanche and generate the 2nd most High Danger Chances For. With the total being only 5.5 and getting almost even odds, I think we are getting good value here. The Kings goaltending will regress to the mean as will their offense, but with both teams hitting over 50% of their overs we are taking it tonight.

Let’s go for 6 straight nights of profit!
