Tonight’s NBA GPP Picks 4/10 slate will be a seven-game slate. There will be plenty of news to watch for as usual in the NBA as Joel Embiid is a rest candidate with Philly playing a depleted Thunder team. A few other notables’ situations to watch are Kyle Lowry, Kyle Kuzma, John Wall, and Mason Plumlee will all be questionable.

As usual, the Discord Chat rooms will be a wonderful place to be to follow all news throughout the day. In there you will find the WinDaily staff and myself answering any questions you may have. at first glance I see the top-paced teams squaring off against some of the slowest teams today. Our top-priced player on DraftKings tonight will be Russell Westbrook in a tough matchup with Phoenix.

My article will consist of two players that will exceed value from each position specifically for tournament/GPP. I will be using DraftKings pricing. Time to jump into todays’ NBA GPP Picks 4/10 breakdown!

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/10

Point Guard
Kyrie Irving – ($10,400)

The Nets will be without Harden again and two of the last three games without Harden Kyrie has shot 27 or more times. Kyrie leads the Nets in usage and is averaging over 1.3 fantasy points per minute without Harden. We should have Durant on a minute’s restriction again so if this game is close Kyrie should see plenty of opportunities. Let’s not forget the Lakers have been a top ten team in pace over the last ten games without Bron and AD.

Theo Maledon – ($5,600)
Over the past five games with all the injuries, Maledon has average a team-high 29% usage rate. It does look as if Bazley will return but should be limited after a month’s absence. We have seen the ceiling with Maledon scoring over 40 in two of his past five. The Thunder have not kept many games close lately but, in the game, they did Maledon played 36 minutes. If Embiid is out this game may be closer and Maledon could see a team-high in usage and minutes.

Shooting Guard
Devin Booker – ($8,900)

A great matchup awaits Booker who is playing the Wizards who are the fastest-paced team in the league. His last three pace-up games against Houston, Charlotte, and Chicago resulted in over 50 fantasy points for Booker in all three. He leads the Suns in usage by a wide margin at 33% on the year. We also need to keep an eye on the status of Beal on the other side of the ball who may be a rest candidate.

Cory Joseph – ($4,000)

Last time out Joseph started with Jerami Grant absent and played 32 minutes while scoring 40 fantasy points. In that game, Joseph went for a 26.5% usage rate against his former team. The matchup is great as well with Portland giving up the eighth-most fantasy points to shooting guards and ranking second-worst in defensive efficiency. We should see Joseph start again and at this price, I will roll him out.

Small Forward
Tobias Harris – ($8,100)

There were reports Embiid landed on his knee awkwardly and may have tweaked it. The 76ers may want to take caution and sit him out against an awful Thunder team. If they sit him Harris sees a 3.7% usage increase and averages 1.17 fantasy points per minute. This matchup is elite with OKC allowing the most fantasy points to power forwards and ranking third-worst in defensive rating over the past ten games.

Joe Ingles – ($5,400)

Utah is expecting to be without Jordan Clarkson again and Ingles went for 33 fantasy points last game without him. A date with the Kings tonight is a wonderful thing as they have given up the fifth-most fantasy points to shooting guards and still rank dead last in defensive efficiency. The price is nice for several Jazz players in this great spot I think Bogdanovic and O’Neale can be solid options as well.

Power Forward
OG Anunoby – ($6,600)

Toronto has been shorthanded which led to Anunoby playing 41 minutes last game against the Bulls. Since returning Anunoby has scored under 32 fantasy points just twice in those eleven games. In those games, he is consistently shooting around 15 times per game. Less than a month ago Anunoby played Cleveland playing 31 minutes while scoring 34.5 fantasy points. He still has a ceiling at this price and has been consistent.

Taurean Prince – ($4,600)

In the five games back on the court Prince has yet to see a usage rate under 21.5%. The Cavs did not rush Prince back into action but in the past three games, he saw at least 26 minutes and recorded over 32 fantasy points in all three. With Prince’s return, Osman has been cut from the rotation, and with Nance already out the potential will be there for another 30-point night.

Center
Pascal Siakam – ($8,400)

We need to watch the Kyle Lowry news if he sits again then Siakam sees a usage increase of 4.5% bringing his total over 30%. Siakam is averaging 1.3 fantasy points per minute with Lowry and the other Raptors that are out off the floor. Let’s remember that Cleveland will be without their primary rim protector Jarrett Allen. An individual matchup with Kevin Love to start the game isn’t anything to be afraid of.

Isaiah Stewart – ($4,500)
For this pick, we need to keep an eye on Mason Plumlee. In the past three games where Plumlee has played little or none, Stewart has played 22 or more minutes. He scored 29 or more fantasy points in those games and the game he failed to do so was a tough spot against Denver. He is in a fantastic spot today against Portland who is allowing the third-most fantasy points to centers over the past ten and ranks second-worst in defensive rating.

Closing Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/10

Thank you for reading my NBA GPP Picks 4/10 article. It should be a fantastic seven-game NBA slate with news bound to fall. I would say that Beal could be a rest candidate being on his first back-to-back since returning from his injury. Keeping up with Discord may be tough for me today as I will be attending the Twins game. After the game, I will hope on and we should have the news we need to finish dissecting today’s slate. I am glad there are starting to be fans at games and glad I get to attend so soon! Enjoy your Saturday and best of luck on your MLB, NBA, or MMA lineups today!

Welcome back to Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/4 for this four-game slate. We have tons of news to watch with several Pelicans players out or questionable. Among the players questionable we see Zion, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Trae Young. We could also see Joel Embiid sit on the second night of a back-to-back since returning from his knee injury.

That being said, the Discord Chat rooms will be an important piece to taking down tonight’s slate. In there you will find the WinDaily staff and myself helping you stay updated on the top plays on the slate. The two games expected to be high totals are Houston vs New Orleans and Atlanta vs Golden State. I won’t waste any more time before rolling into this great four-game NBA slate.

For today’s shorter four-game slate I will go over each game while breaking down the top plays for NBA GPP Picks 4/4. I will be using DraftKings pricing.

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/4

Memphis Grizzlies vs Philadelphia 76ers
Grizzlies

I haven’t been playing the Grizzlies for a while and that won’t change unless we get word of an injury. They run a deep rotation and spread out the usage enough for me to avoid them.

76ers
Tobias Harris – ($8,400)

I already mentioned we may see Joel Embiid sit on this second leg of a back-to-back set. If that is the case Harris receives a 3.5% usage increase while recording 1.15 fantasy points per minute during that time. While Embiid was missing Harris saw nearly 20 shot attempts per game. The price has come down slightly recently due to poor performances in two straight games. I don’t love much on the 76ers side if Embiid does play though.

Dwight Howard – ($6,200)
Again, this is only if Embiid is indeed ruled out. If Embiid sits we should see Howard dominate the center minutes for Philly since Tony Bradley is no longer with them. When Embiid was just absent Howard averaged above a 20% usage rate and he has recorded 1.18 fantasy points per minute. I see Howard on the floor whenever JOVAL is so he could easily see 30 minutes in this spot.

Golden State Warriors vs Atlanta Hawks

Warriors
Steph Curry – ($9,800)

The Warriors is pretty simple for me especially today with the prices inflated from Steph’s absence. I will only be playing Steph from this team. He has seen over a 30% usage rate in five straight games. Today he gets a nice matchup against Atlanta who has given up the sixth-most fantasy points to point guards and ranks seventh-worst in defensive efficiency.

Hawks

Trae Young – ($9,500)
When Collins, Hunter, and Reddish are off the floor Young sees a 10% usage increase. During that time Young is averaging a 42.8% usage rate while accumulating 1.55 fantasy points per minute. This matchup is amazing as Golden State is the second-fastest team in the league and Steph’s defense is nothing to be afraid of.

Lou Williams – ($5,500)
I like this play much more as long as Gallinari sits for another game. Trae may sit too as he comes in questionable. In his two games with Atlanta Lou has soaked up a 25% usage rate while scoring 40 fantasy points last game without Young. The Warriors play fast which should allow for plenty of opportunities. I think you can play any mid-priced Hawk player if Gallinari is out again.

New Orleans Pelicans vs Houston Rockets

Pelicans
All of this depends on who plays for them, I assume Ball will miss another game since they signed Isaiah Thomas. We also see Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson questionable. There could be lots of plays from the Pelicans pending who plays with Josh Hart also ruled out.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker – ($7,000)
With all the injuries and now Josh Hart being added to that list will allow Walker to keep his 30-minute streak going. It has been seven straight games that NAW has played 31 or more minutes. During those seven games, Walker has averaged a 24% usage rate and scored under 31 fantasy points just once. The Rockets have been the sixth-worst team in defensive rating over the last ten and will be without John Wall again.

James Johnson – ($4,400)
We will need one of Zion or Ingram to sit for Johnson to be in play. Over the past two games with those two off the floor, Johnson has an average usage rate of 20.5%. In those two games, Johnson played 28 and 29 minutes while recording more than 28 fantasy points in both games. This is a better matchup than those two games facing a depleted Rockets squad.

Rockets
Kevin Porter Jr. – (6,900)

When Wall is absent along with all the other Rockets Porter is seeing a 29% usage rate. He has seen 30 minutes in four straight games and we have seen Porter go for a 45 point or more ceiling without Wall before. He draws an outstanding matchup against the banged-up Pelicans squad who already ranked third-worst in team defense this season.

Avery Bradley – ($3,700)
Bradley has been eased into the rotation with his new team seeing 28 minutes the most since joining the Rockets. Those 28 minutes allowed Bradley to surpass the 28-fantasy point mark. It has now been two straight games that Bradley has eclipsed the 20% usage mark. Today he will get a great matchup against the third-worst defensive team in the NBA.

Orlando Magic vs Denver Nuggets

Magic
Again, we have another scenario where we have injury news to wait on with Birch, Porter, Mo Bamba, and MCW all questionable with Terrence Ross a possible rest candidate.

Wendell Carter Jr. – ($5,800)
Two straight games of 31 or more fantasy points have allowed Carter to score more than 40 fantasy points in both. In those games, Carter has been over a 21% usage rate shooting it more than 12 times. There is a chance of two centers being out with Birch and Bamba tonight as well. The Magic could be even further shorthanded only solidifying the minutes and shot attempts for Carter.

Chuma Okeke – ($5,700)

Since the Magic got the team makeover Okeke has played 30 minutes in four of five games. The fewest fantasy points he has scored in those games is 28.5. Today Orlando could be thin in the frontcourt with Porter, Birch, and Bamba all questionable. If any of those players are out that will just solidify the minutes of Okeke at a reasonable price.

RJ Hampton – ($3,500)
If the same Magic players are out tonight Hampton may be forced to play 30+ minutes again. In that game last night Hampton was second on the team in usage just behind Terrence Ross at 25%. If he sees that again at this price, he should be able to pay it off easily regardless of the matchup. He was able to go for 28 fantasy points last night in a tough matchup with Utah.

Nuggets
The nuggets players are high priced to me especially since they are getting completely healthy and the new trades.

Aaron Gordon – ($6,400)
It seems as if Gordon is fully acclimated with his new squad after playing 39 minutes last game against the Clippers. He scored 40 fantasy points in that game while shooting over 10 shot attempts for the first time with his new squad. It is tough to avoid talking about the revenge narrative here as well since Gordon was just traded not long ago. Another spot to look could be MPJ who has been very consistent over the past 10-15 games.

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/4

Final Thoughts
I mentioned above that Discord Chat will be important for this slate and I can’t stress that enough. We have several big names questionable that can alter this slate in a hurry. Thank you for reading Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 4/4. Enjoy what is left of your weekend. Hopefully, we help you turn your screens green!

Core Four Tuesday 3/30

The NBA schedule continues to churn forward but there are only four games tonight, which means I wouldn’t touch cash games. That means the Core Four format returns tonight and we’ll discuss which four players I’m targeting as the foundation of my lineups. It’s going to be an interesting slate since there’s not a lot of options over $10,000 so let’s dive into the Core Four Tuesday 3/30 and see who we like!

Core Four Tuesday 3/30

Core Four Tuesday 3/30 – Member One

Nikola Jokic ($10,500 DK/$11,300 FD) – Hello Big Honey! When we have a condensed slate, it’s basically down to Joker or Russell Westbrook’s as the odds-on favorite to score the most fantasy points tonight. With Philly still missing Joel Embiid, the matchup down low takes on a totally different dynamic. Dwight Howard isn’t what he once was defensively and Jokic will have no trouble doing whatever he likes here.

Another component is if Ben Simmons covers Jamal Murray for some of the game, I can see Jokic being more aggressive with his scoring. He has that in his bag of tricks, not that he needs it. Big Honey has the MVP in front of him and just put up 48 DK on 12 shots in 28 minutes last game. With new teammate Aaron Gordon likely seeing more minutes, the offense just gets more dynamic tonight with Joker’s 29.4% usage and 1.61 leading the way.

Core Four Tuesday 3/30 – Member Two

Bradley Beal ($8,900 DK/$8,800 FD) – I know that Beal has struggled a bit since returning from the All-Star Break. It’s been very feast or famine but that’s kind of what we need in GPP and this spot sets up for a big game. First off, I wouldn’t be overly shocked if Russell Westbrook sat. He has been playing back-to-back sets but the playoff hopes for the Wizards are fading fast. They sit three games behind the 10 spot just for a play-in game. Regardless of Westbrook’s status, Beal is under $9,000.

Both Washington and Charlotte sit inside the top 12 in pace and both are below average in defensive rating. Beal has a true shooting rate just a hair under 60% on the year, so his poor shooting as of late is not indicative of what he’s capable of. Beal also continues to lead the NBA in scoring at 31.3 points per game and is the only player over 30 in the association this year. When you add that to a usage rate of 34.4% and a potential for a shootout, it’s not hard to see why we want to take a chance with Beal tonight.

Core Four Tuesday 3/30 – Member Three

Malik Monk ($4,900 DK) – We’re not leaving this game the rest of the way and Monk is a perfect player to take for GPP’s. When his shot is falling, his ceiling is nearly 8-10x what his current price point is. He’s listed as probable after missing one game with a foot injury and gets one of the better matchups he can in the Wizards. Not only is the pace excellent, but Monk sports about a 25% frequency with spot-up shooting on the season. The Wizards allow the third-most points per possession to spot-up shooters, right in the wheelhouse for Monk. We want as many pieces as we can get in my eyes and Monk has over a 27% usage rate when LaMelo Ball is off the court. I suspect he’ll be popular even in GPP settings.

On FD, I’ll just use Rui Hachimura to continue my exposure to this game. Monk is all the way up at $6,500 on FD and that’s a lot to ask. Hachimura is a player we talk about all the time since he plays so many minutes. If Westy were to sit, he becomes the number two option in the option behind Beal, and the price on FD where we need two SF just makes too much sense.

Core Four Tuesday 3/30 – Member Four

Terance Mann ($4,700 DK/$4,700 FD) – The Clippers played the Bucks last night and I would be fairly surprised if Kawhi Leonard doesn’t sit. Paul George sat last night and it makes too much sense. The Orlando team they face is in shambles right now after trading much of their team. For their part, the Clippers traded away Lou Williams and Mann has seen much more consistent minutes over the past handful of games. Even if you leave PG and Kawhi on the floor, Mann rocks a 0.89 FPPM with an 18.5% usage rate. The Clippers guard also racked up over 30 minutes last night. He’ll carry more of the offensive load if the Clippers are missing one of their star players in this game and we can take advantage as a small late-night hammer.

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/29

It has been a crazy couple of days in the NBA and in honesty, that’s not likely to stop anytime soon. With the league running a very condensed schedule, we’re likely to see a lot of rest games for important players. We stress this at all times but we need to make it clear for the rest of the season – if you can’t be around for lock and the slate, it’s best not to play. At the very least, scaling the bankroll is pretty smart at this juncture. We have an 11 game slate to get into for the NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/29 to start laying the foundation to find the green screens!

What We Look For In Cash Games

  1. High Floor – We need players we can trust to get us to a certain value almost no matter what. If they have a poor shooting night, they can still do enough other things to score 4-5x.
  2. Chalkiness – We need players who are going to be highly rostered. If a player is 70% or higher and they go off without you, that’s likely the end of your night.
  3. Positional Strength – Especially on FanDuel, sometimes a position is going to be very thin and needs to be prioritized.
  4. Ghost’s Model – This model needs to be the Bible as far as projections. My article will mostly be written the night before. I’m telling you this upfront – Trust. The. Model. We can’t always update the articles and it won’t lead us astray. If it’s on a player that isn’t mentioned in mine, trust it, and don’t hesitate to ask if a player is popping that you’re not sure why.
  5. Late News – Another very important aspect to stress – do not play a slate if you can’t update close to tip. The NBA changes in an instant. One piece of news can change everything.

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/29 Injury Report

Pacers – Doug McDermott (Q)

Wizards – Bradley Beal (Q)

Pelicans – Lonzo Ball (Q)

Celtics – Even Fournier, Tristan Thompson (Q)

Nets – Kevin Durant (O)

Heat – Victor Oladipo, Kendrick Nunn (O), Goran Dragic (Q)

Knicks – Julius Randle (Q), Michell Robinson (O)

Pistons – Jerami Grant (Q), Dennis Smith Jr. (O)

Rockets – Christian Wood (Q)

Thunder – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (O), Lu Dort, Darius Bazley (Q)

Kings – Marvin Bagley (O)

Spurs – Lonnie Walker (O), Devin Vassell (Q)

Cavaliers – Jarrett Allen (O)

Bulls – Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Daniel Theis (Q)

Warriors – Steph Curry (Q)

Bucks – Bobby Portis, PJ Tucker (O)

Clippers – Serge Ibaka, Patrick Beverly, Rajon Rondo (O)

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/29 Positions

Point Guard

Luka Doncic ($10,800 DK/$10,800 FD) – Luka missed two games and is coming off one of his worst games of the season and those factors are irrelevant to me. The Thunder rank 10th in pace on the season and are not interested in winning games at all. Dallas finds themselves sitting eighth in the West and their sluggish start has left them with little to no margin for error. Luka sports a 36.1% usage rate and a 1.56 FPPM against a team that the Mavericks absolutely have to beat. Sign me up.

Derrick Rose ($4,900 DK/$5,500 FD) – Point guard is interesting to me tonight. There are plenty in good to great spots like De’Aaron Fox, Kyle Lowry (if active), Malcolm Brogdon, and others. At the same time, the lower-level in salary is pretty attractive and I can see myself spending on other spots. Rose leads the pack in my eyes. Why? Well, because Thibs is gonna Thibs. For those who might be new, that means coach Tom Thibodeau plays his starters monster minutes. Rose missed 10 games and came back to play 29 minutes. His price doesn’t match that potential. So far with his time in a Knicks uniform Rose has shown a 24.7% usage rate and a 1.03 FPPM.

Theo Maledon ($5,800 DK/$5,100 FD) – I’m not sold on DK since Rose is $900 cheaper but on FD, Maledon feels almost must-play in one of the PG spots. That can change by lock tomorrow but with the Thunder still missing very important pieces, Maledon looks incredibly appealing. Dallas is 24th in defensive rating on the season and Maledon is locked into 32+ minutes. With that amount of court time, a 19.7% usage and a 0.86 FPPM look more than solid for $5,100.

Honorable Mention – Fox, Kyrie Irving, Lowry, Brogdon, and possibly Goran Dragic

Shooting Guard

DeMar DeRozan ($7,900 DK/$8,400 FD) – DDR is not a normal piece of this article but there are exceptions to every rule. For one, he’s under $8,000 on DK even though he’s only SF-eligible. Without LaMarcus Aldridge on the floor (who now makes the Nets a “super team”…insert the Dr. Evil riiiiigggghhhhtt in this spot), DeRozan leads the Spurs in usage at 26.6% and FPPM at 1.21. Now we put him up against the worst team in the league as far as defensive rating in the Kings? Sounds like a fun time to me, especially since both teams are in the top half of the league in pace.

Zach LaVine ($8,400 DK/$7,500 FD) – Alright so if we’re just game log hunting, this pick looks terrible. This is still Zach LaVine last time I checked and I’m not sure his price should drop so much just from a bad three of four games. In the first game with new teammate Nikola Vucevic, LaVine still sported a 29.5% usage rate. He hasn’t shot above 40% from the field over the last four games and this is a player flirting with 52% on the season. Facing the Warriors is a spot to get back on track since both teams are in the top-eight in pace. The FD price is incredibly low.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($5,800 DK/$5,800 FD) – This is contingent on Lonzo Ball remaining out of the Pelicans lineup. If he does, NAW will continue to be a very popular cash play across the industry and with justified cause. On the season, he’s sporting a 23.1% usage and an even 1.00 FPPM. The price hasn’t exceeded what we reasonably need from him yet and anything under $6,000 keeps him in play. There’s not a ton to say about this play past the popularity he’d carry. If Lonzo plays, pivot to Terrance Mann who is likely to be quite popular himself. With the Lou Williams trade, Mann has been seeing minutes with at least 28 in three of his past four games.

Honorable Mention – Paul George, Caris LeVert and I love Anthony Edwards in GPP

Shooting Forward

Kawhi Leonard ($8,900 DK/$9,500 FD) – I always find myself looking at Kawhi in this spot. The results against Giannis Antetokounmpo are a bit varied, but this has to be a measuring stick-style game for Kawhi. These teams faced off in late February and Leonard scored 45 DK points, right about his average. With the Bucks playing at the third-fastest pace in the league, this is a great spot for Kawhi and the DK price especially is too cheap. On top of that, the SF position is nothing to write home about yet again.

OG Anunoby ($6,300 DK/$$6,600 FD) – OG has been playing well the past five active games since returning from a Covid absence and is a…scoring threat? Anunoby typically is relying on his defensive skill set but he hasn’t dipped below 15 real points since coming back from an absence. Since Norman Powell is now with the Blazers, that opens up opportunities for OG as well. Detroit ranks 22nd in turnovers per game so there is plenty of steals upside for Anunoby and the minutes are secure at 30+.

Malik Beasley ($5,600 FD) – An FD special, Beasley returned to the Wolves lineup last game. He played 29 minutes and jacked up seventeen shots, which is quite the feat playing with Edwards and Karl Anthony-Towns. Despite only hitting four of the 17 shots, Beasley managed to score just under 30 fantasy points. He’s too expensive at $6,800 on DK but on FD he’s still very cheap and the matchup against the Nets should bring out the potential upside here.

Honorable Mention – Jimmy Butler, Jaylen Brown, Kevin Porter, Rui Hachimura

Power Forward

Zion Williamson $8,800 DK/$9,000 FD) – I swore off Zion for a little while because the Pelicans couldn’t or wouldn’t recognize he was the best player on the court. That might be changing as not only has he taken 19 and 20 shots the past two games, he’s the main cog in crunch time. Check out this video from Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer –

In the past four games, Zion has scored 30 or more real points in three of them. Those games have seen him total 107 points on a total of 52 field-goal attempts which is absurd. Taking Ball off the court helps Zion as well, with a bump of 3.2% in usage to bring it to 32.1% total. Boston lacks any real interior presence to help quell Zion and if he gets another 20 shots, a whole lot of them arguing to go in.

Alexsej Pokusevski ($5,400 DK/$4,800 FD) – A rebuilding/tanking team presents us with opportunity and Poku is one of those players. He sees the court a ton now, upwards of 32 minutes on some nights. There’s no doubt he’s finding his way a little bit and the shot is….not consistent to be kind. Even with a ghastly true shooting rate of 38.6% with no SGA and Horford, Poku has managed to scrape together a 0.81 FPPM. Just imagine if the shot becomes passable, not even great. Getting the spot against the Mavericks should accentuate the positives for Poku and the Thunder have every desire to run him the rest of the way.

Note – There are some names I have my eyes on but don’t have clarity on quite yet. In Brooklyn, I’m going to possibly have one last game of playing Nicolas Claxton if LaMarcus Aldridge isn’t active yet. If LMA plays, I’d back off Claxton. I could also possibly be looking towards Trevor Ariza, but the Heat will have Nemanja Bjelica active to potentially take away minutes from the older veteran. Lastly, I want to see if this name picks up any steam for popularity – Dean Wade. The young forward for the Cavaliers played 31 minutes last game with Jarrett Allen out and could do so again. The spot isn’t great against the Jazz but the FD price is super cheap.

Honorable Mention – Giannis, Domantas Sabonis (smash spot), Jayson Tatum

Center

Karl Anthony-Towns ($9,900 DK/$10,000 FD) – I can already hear folks asking for blowout concerns and I would say this – Minnesota lost by 22 last game and KAT still bulldozed his way to 56 DK points. We’ve attacked Brooklyn the entire season with big men, let alone talented and multi-faceted threats like Towns. The man might not play defense but he can score the basketball. He averages over six paint touches a game and can score from anywhere on the court, let alone rebound the ball. Brooklyn has gone up to 13th in that category but that just means KAT is needed even more on the boards. As we sit the night before, he’s one of my favorite plays on the board.

Moses Brown ($6,800 DK/$6,500 FD) – Part of me says I don’t love this price but the other part is saying to get over it and just play the kid. He had a weird game last time out where he flirted with a Barbara Walters special in the first half and then barely made a dent in the second half. I think that’s part of what bothers me slightly but 50 fantasy points are 50 fantasy points no matter how it comes. Brown is at nearly seven paint touches a game and Dallas is bottom 10 in both rebounding and paint points. It’s been a struggle for them all season, frankly. Brown has turned in a sparkling 1.24 FPPM without Horford and SGA on the floor this year and I think the field is ready to chase the outburst from the last game.

Honorable Mention – Bam Adebayo, Richaun Holmes, Jonas Valanciunas, Kelly Olynyk (if Christian Wood is out)

Tonight’s NBA GPP Picks 3/28 slate is a short three-game slate. It should still be an intriguing slate with plenty of higher-priced players to pay for with not a ton of value currently. That can always change in a jiffy which makes joining the Discord Chat rooms important to adjust on the fly to any news.

In Discord, you will find the WinDaily staff and I help you stay updated with news and answering any questions you have. One of the main things to keep an eye on for me is who starts for Orlando. The two high-scoring games tonight are expected to be Portland vs Toronto and Atlanta vs Denver. Let’s get into this exciting three-game slate!

Today’s article will be slightly different due to the short three-game slate for NBA GPP Picks 3/28. I will go over each game and breakdown my favorite plays from each game. Due to a short slate, I may not cover every position due to the short slate. This article will be using DraftKings pricing throughout.

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 3/28

Portland Trail Blazers vs Toronto Raptors

Blazers

Norman Powell – ($6,600)

Entering today Damian Lillard is questionable which if he sits McCollum, and Powell will likely be successful again. In his debut with Portland Powell played 36 minutes will absorb 22% of the team’s usage. Now he gets to face his former squad who is allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to small forwards. I believe McCollum is also an excellent option if Lillard sits as he saw a 37% usage rate last game when Lillard was out.

Anfernee Simons – ($4,000)

When Lillard sat last time out against Orlando Simons saw 25 minutes off the bench scoring nearly 25 fantasy points. If we see that Lillard is out again Simons is still at a cheap enough salary to roll out for this small three-game slate. He is shooting 42% from three and almost strictly shoots threes when he is out there. If Lillard is missing again the more minutes Simons will see to chuck threes.

Raptors

Pascal Siakam- ($7,600)

Since returning from his Covid absence Siakam has scored over 43 fantasy points in four of those six games. His usage has been fantastic since he has returned averaging over 27.5% usage during those six games. The Trail Blazers haven’t been great against power forwards allowing the seventh-most fantasy points to them. A matchup with Portland who is the second-worst defensive team in the league makes this matchup juicy.

Gary Trent Jr- ($4,800)
In his debut with Toronto Trent played 31 minutes shooting 11 times against a good defensive Suns team. Tonight, Trent faces his former team who ranks second-worst in team defense this season. This game is projected as the highest total on the night and having pieces will be important. It is tough because this game doesn’t have many cheap options. A salary below 5K is enticing for a player that played 31 minutes in his team debut.

Atlanta Hawks vs Denver Nuggets

Hawks

Trae Young – ($8,900)
He is capable of going off at any time and when Young is below 9K he is tough to ignore. It has been three straight games where Young has scored at least 47 fantasy points. His minutes have been high as his lowest minute total in the last three is 36 and now Rondo is missing. We also have been informed Lou will not make his debut. He won’t be a priority for me but is always an option.

Bogdan Bogdanovic- ($4,900)

We will need to keep an eye on the status of De’Andre Hunter here. If he plays, I will likely jump of Bogdan. Recently Bogdan has been consistently seeing double-digit shot attempts. Now with Rondo gone, he has the potential to get some backup point guard minutes. His usage rate of late is averaging around 20% and we have seen a 35-point upside in two of his past five games.

Nuggets
Jamal Murray – ($7,700)

These two met just over a month ago and Jokic struggled against Clint Capela’s defense. With the acquisition of Javale McGee, I feel we could see Denver ease back Joker’s minutes leading up to the playoffs. That led to Jamal Murray scoring 30 real points and over 45 fantasy points. I would expect much of the same especially with Atlanta giving up the third-most fantasy points to point guards this season.

Since I am not playing Jokic I will be playing Jamal and will have to wait and see if the newly acquired Nuggets pieces will play in this game. It would mostly be Murray or Jokic for me regardless.

Orlando Magic vs Los Angeles Lakers

Magic
First off, I want to mention the newly acquired players will be available for tonight’s game.
Otto Porter Jr – ($5,500)
Again, I believe Porter will have a sizeable role with his new squad. I am a larger fan of Porter if Ross sits due to the large volume of shots Ross takes. The Lakers have been playing at the seventh-fastest pace over the last five games, most of those without Lebron. I’m going to stress checking the starting lineup and Discord Chat throughout the day as we try to learn more.

RJ Hampton – ($3,500)
If Ross is out there should be minutes to go around in the Magic backcourt. I would think that Hampton could get the starting nod over Dwayne Bacon. There are no crazy stats here since this will be his debut with his new squad. Check the starting lineups before lock to see who the Magic start.

Lakers
Montrezl Harrell – ($7,400)

When Lebron and AD are out Harrell leads the lakers in usage rate at 26.6%. During his time on the floor, he is averaging 1.25 fantasy points per minute. The minutes have been up too as Harrell has seen over 30 minutes in five straight games now. A matchup against a newly put-together Magic squad is extremely enticing on a small slate. Especially if we look at what Nurkic and Kanter were able to do against them on Friday.

Dennis Schroder – ($7,100)
Just behind Harrell in usage with those two out is Schroder at 26.3% and is average over a fantasy point per minute in that time. We have seen him score 35 fantasy points or more in three of the four games Lebron has been out. His minutes have constantly been above 30 lately including 39 minutes against the 76ers. These Lakers could go overlooked facing a new-look Magic team.

Final Thoughts

It seems abnormal to have a slate this small in the NBA DFS world this season. This three-game NBA GPP Picks 3/28 slate should still be a fun one. Most of these teams are still working out their rotations since the trade deadline, especially in Orlando. We currently don’t see a ton of value but that can always change so don’t forget to join Discord Chat rooms. That will wrap up this weekend of NBA GPP Picks. Thank you for reading my article and I hope you enjoyed it. Good luck with your lineups and have a great Sunday!

For NBA GPP Picks 3/27 we will have a nine-game slate to breakdown. It is going to be an important slate to check out Discord Chat due to all the injuries and questionable tags due to trades. The notables on this list include Luka, Bradley Beal, Kawhi Leonard, Zach Lavine, and Collin Sexton are all questionable. Another status up in the air is Kristaps Porzingis after playing 38 minutes last night.

A lot of things will change during the day so be sure to check all news and who is playing on their new team. Our WinDaily family will keep you updated on all the top plays for the slate in Discord. Let’s jump into this injury-riddled nine-game slate for NBA GPP Picks 3/27 slate.

This article will consist of my top two plays at each position for tonight’s nine-game NBA slate. I am specifically looking for GPP/Tournament plays for today’s slate. I will be using DraftKings pricing throughout.

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 3/27

Point Guard

Russell Westbrook – ($11,000)
A major thing to watch here is the status of Bradley Beal. If we take Beal and the other Wizards that are out off the floor Westbrook sees an 11.4% usage increase. That brings his usage to a massive 43%. During that time, he is averaging 1.5 fantasy points per minute. A matchup against Detroit isn’t a spot that scares me if Beal is out and Westy dominates the usage.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker – ($5,300)
In the three games without Lonzo Ball, Alexander-Walker hasn’t seen below 31 minutes and saw a whooping 39 minutes last game. In those three games, he is averaging 14 shots per game while recording no fewer than 32.25 fantasy points. With Ball off the floor, Walker has seen the most minutes on the team and is averaging just under a fantasy point per minute. The minutes should be there again and we shouldn’t be afraid to fire him up.

Shooting Guard

Reggie Jackson – ($4,700)
Last time out when several Clippers were absent Jackson was second on the team in usage behind Paul George. That game saw Jackson record 39 minutes while scoring over 40 fantasy points. With Morris and Leonard remaining questionable and Lou Williams being traded the minutes and usage could be there again. If Leonard and Morris are off the floor Jackson sees a 6.5% usage increase. You’re going to have to keep up with the news during the day with this selection.

Ben McLemore – ($3,200)

This Rockets team could be thin and Wall may potentially sit to add to that. He had a massive game against the wolves shooting 14 three-pointers. Playing 36 minutes led McLemore to 33.75 fantasy points last evening. A 20% usage rate in three straight games for this price is tough to pass up. Over the last ten games, the wolves have been third fastest in pace and third-worst defensive rating.

Small Forward

Luka Doncic – ($10,800)
It sounds like Luka should be able to return from his back injury tonight. However, it also appears Porzingis could sit out this game. When Luka is without Porzingis, he averages a 37% usage rate and is averaging 1.5 fantasy points per minute. The matchup is great against the third-worst defense in the league and Luka already tore the Pelicans for over 80 fantasy points this season.

Garrison Mathews – ($3,100)
In two of his last three games, Mathews has logged over 30 minutes. One of those games saw Mathews record a season-high 35 minutes in route to 27 fantasy points. Now Beal may miss this game which should solidify the minutes for Mathews. If he is going to play more than 30 minutes it will be hard to ignore him near minimum price.

Power Forward

Jayson Tatum – ($8,400)
Kemba has yet to play in a back-to-back and I haven’t heard that will change. When Kemba, Thies, and Thompson are off the floor, Tatum sees over a 5% usage increase to a 35.4% usage rate. In that time, Tatum falls just shy of recording 1.4 fantasy points per minute. We haven’t seen Tatum at this price in well over a month making this price a solid bargain especially if Walker is ruled out.

DeMar DeRozan- ($7,900)
In the past two games without Walker, DeMar is averaging a 39% usage rate. This is another case of a player that is at his lowest salary in a month and a half. He isn’t in an awful matchup either as the Bulls rank eighth fastest. With all the new pieces for the Bulls, it may take a game or two to get the defense right. A 50-point ceiling game against the Bulls at a reduced price isn’t out of the question here.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns – ($9,700)
Over the past five games AKA since Christian Wood came back Houston is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to centers. The great news for Towns is that he shot over 20 times in four of five games. Two of those games saw Towns go for over 60 fantasy points including last night’s game against Houston. The Rockets rank in the top ten in pace and the bottom ten in defensive rating over the past ten games. Even though Malik is coming back Towns should still see plenty of opportunities.

Kelly Olynyk – ($3,500)
Nothing here is certain but I believe that Olynyk should see playing time if he is given the green light. We have just seen Olynyk above 6K so he can easily pay off this price tag given the court time. It wouldn’t shock me if Olynyk went for 8-10x his salary here especially in a wonderful spot against this Wolves squad.

Closing Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 3/27

Today is a sport-filled day meaning potential to make some green. We have NBA GPP Picks 3/27 and my UFC 260 DFS Breakdown taking place tonight. For NBA we must remember to track the news with these injuries and several teams on back-to-backs. The slate can always change in the blink of an eye. The main games I will target are Detroit vs Washington, Minnesota vs Houston, and Dallas vs New Orleans. There is going to be plenty of value on this slate we just need to let the injuries sort themselves. Thank you for tuning into my article and good luck with your line-ups!

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/26

The Trade Deadline is now officially behind us and we can all agree that the Denver Nuggets won the deadline. I will be taking no further questions at this time. We get a sprawling 11 game slate this evening which can be difficult, but we’ll narrow down the pool of who we should be looking at in the NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/26!

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/26 Injury Report

Nets – Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant (O), James Harden (Q)

Pistons – Hamidou Diallo, Dennis Smith Jr., Rodney McGruder (Q)

Suns – Mikal Bridges (Q), Abdel Nader (O)

Heat – Jimmy Butler, Goran Dragic (Q) – They only had nine players in the lineup last night, so keep an eye on this team

Hornets – LaMelo Ball (O)

Magic – Terrence Ross (Q) – The Magic will likely be a premier value team tonight with a complete blowup of their team yesterday, although DK did price some of them up.

Nuggets – Monte Morris (Q)

Pelicans – Lonzo Ball (Q)

Rockets – Kevin Porter (Q)

Hawks – Cam Reddish (O)

Warriors – Steph Curry (O)

Cavaliers – Collin Sexton (Q)

Lakers – Anthony Davis, LeBron James (O)

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/26 Positions

Point Guard

John Wall ($8,300 DK/$8,200 FD) – I almost went with Trae Young here again but I would suspect Wall draws some pretty massive attention. The Rockets parted ways with Victor Oladipo yesterday in a trade so Wall is the man in the backcourt now. With Dipo off the court along with Eric Gordon, Wall is a monster by the numbers. The sample is over 230 minutes and he’s seen a usage rate over 39% and a 1.37 FPPM. Oh, by the way, his true shooting is 45.4% in the sample. If all that wasn’t enough, both of these teams are top-five in pace and the Wolves are bottom-six in defensive rating. Expect Wall to be popular.

Terry Rozier ($7,600 DK/$7,000 FD) – LaMelo Ball may be gone for the season but Scary Terry is doing what he can to keep the Hornets relevant. In the two games Ball has been out, Rozier has scored 24 and 25 real points and eclipsed 36 DK. The lower score came on just 30 minutes as Charlotte whooped the Rockets and he was done early. Miami should still be under-manned after making some trades and Rozier is right next to Gordon Hayward in usage without Ball at 24.9%. Miami isn’t anything special in defensive rating but I’m always willing to stack teams on back-to-back this year.

The lower rung of PG needs some clarity before we decide. For instance, if Butler is out again for the Heat we need to go right back to Kendrick Nunn who is not priced nearly accurately. Mike Conley is under $6,000 on FD but I feel like I write him up every single slate. You know the story by now that he’s got the safe floor that we crave for cash. Even Michael Carter-Williams is in play, though I don’t love the DK price. We’ll let the news roll in before taking a stand.

Honorable Mention – Luka, Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Darius Garland (if Sexton is out)

Shooting Guard

Note – If Terrence Ross is active for the Magic, he’s in play even at the price point. Without all the players Orlando traded yesterday, Ross boasts an absurd 40.8% usage rate and a 1.22 FPPM across 126 minutes.

James Harden ($10,800 DK/$11,300 FD) – Let’s not pretend like this isn’t the best play on the board if Harden is active. The great news is the Nets are off the West Coast, so we will know the status of Harden in time to decide. All that needs to be said is in the last game without Kyrie and KD, Harden scored 60+ fantasy points shooting 7-24 from the field. You play Harden without questions as long as he’s in tonight.

Fred VanVleet ($8,000 DK/$8,000 FD) – Make no mistake, the Raptors are going to miss the scoring of Norman Powell with the trade to the Blazers. When he leaves the court, FVV has a usage of over 26% and a 1.12 FPPM. It does have to be noted that going after the Phoenix Suns is not the normal path to success. This is an exception since the Raptors are down to the big three of FVV, Lowry, and Pascal Siakam. These guys will play 35+ minutes tonight and FVV will help replace the 19.6 points a game that Powell was scoring.

Chasson Randle ($4,100 DK/$4,000 FD) – I would back off of this pick if the model really disagrees, but Orlando should be down to nine players IF Ross is active. Randle has o see minutes at that point and the good news is he’s not nearly as expensive as some of the other Magic players. Portland is bottom-two in defensive rating and on a back-to-back to boot. I hesitate to use the sample much but Randle does have a 1.05 FPPM in their situation tonight. It’s only 59 minutes but Orlando has to field a team tonight.

Honorable Mention – Donovan Mitchell, Caris LeVert, Marcus Smart, Tyler Herro (if Butler remains out)

Small Forward

Brandon Ingram ($8,200 DK/$8,300 FD) – Boy the SF position doesn’t look super fun tonight. This might look a bit “chase-y” as Ingram just lit up the Nuggets for 50+ fantasy points but I believe there’s reason to think that happens again. If Zion Williamson and Nikola Jokic are battling down low, BI has more opportunity to shoot. It’s not like he needs a lot of encouragement with at least 21 attempts in the past four games but the Nuggets will have a tough time guarding him. I still firmly believe Zion is the better player right now to run the offense through but for tonight, Ingram has the better upside. Also, his position is gross as the top end is all injured.

Danuel House ($5,200 DK/$5,500 FD) – We’ve actually hit the point of the year where House is a viable option. Do I love using players that need to score to hit value? Not exactly and the usage for House is poor at 14.7%. However, he’s still showing a 0.80 FPPM and we talked about the elite pace matchup for this game. House can get hot from deep and the Wolves give up the sixth-highest field goal percentage from deep. This is about getting a piece of the game and House is typically good for 30+ minutes. That shouldn’t shift with Dipo out of town.

Jame Ennis ($5,000 FD) – There is zero chance that I’ll play Ennis on DK at $6,000 (!!) but on FD I need two and Ennis fits with an Ingram if you choose that route. There’s not a ton to break down here. Orlando will be lucky to have nine players, Ennis can play 30 minutes or so and he almost has to fall into some production. Portland is about as good a spot as you can ask for on top of it.

Honorable Mention – Jaylen Brown, OG Anunoby, Michael Porter Jr., Shaddiq Bey

Power Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($10,700 DK/$11,000FD) – I’m not worried in the least about the last game for Giannis and look at it as a bonus now. He’s back under $11,000 on DK and if we get the proper value, maybe we can consider playing him and Harden together. If Harden is out altogether, Giannis is right at the top of my list for an anchor for cash games. In theory, this is a great spot for him. Not only has Boston been poor in the interior all year, but they are also down Daniel Theis and Tristan Thompson tonight. We can like Robert Williams but he’s not stopping Giannis down low. The 32.7% usage and 1.65 FPPM should be on full display tonight.

Draymond Green ($7,500 DK/$7,000 FD) – I likely don’t land in this range myself but Green is interesting. I have a feeling that he sat last night because of the back-to-back and would expect him to play tonight. He’ll see some of John Collins on defense which is something we like to chase. Dray is always an exception to the rule because his usage is trash and he doesn’t score real points virtually at all. I mean, he’s under seven real points per game. He does fill up the stat sheet routinely and is still the lynchpin of the offense.

Isaiah Stewart ($4,100 FD) – If you play DK, I’d much rather play Nicholas (Speedy) Claxton since both players are center only and Claxton is cheaper. Both sides of this game are vulnerable down low so picking a side based on site makes plenty of sense. Stewart continues to play 20-24 minutes per night. That’s interesting and he averages a 0.92 FPPM on the season. We know Brooklyn gets pounded in the paint right now and Stewart has 5.5 paint touches per game in his part-time role.

Honorable Mention – Domantas Sabonis, Jayson Tatum, Pascal Siakam, Trevor Ariza

Center

Clint Capela ($7,800 DK/$8,000 FD) – I know we have Jokic and Karl Anthony-Towns on the slate but I find myself going right back to Capela. We loved him in the last game against the Kings and he went OFF for over 50 fantasy points. He’s top-five in paint touches, field goal attempts, and rebounding chances on the season. Much like Sacramento, Golden State does not defend the paint. They rank 27th in paint points and 23rd in rebounds. The salary just didn’t creep up enough tonight to not go back to the well.

Christian Wood ($8,400 DK/$8,000 FD) – Rounding out our Rockets exposure is Wood. Of course, you’re not playing all of them but Wood is square in the crosshairs this evening. We attack KAT defense (or lack thereof) whenever it makes sense and tonight is one of those times. Wall has the usage lead by a good bit but the FPPM is much closer with Wood sporting a 1.28 mark to 1.37 for Wall. You can make a strong case for a Wall/Wood/KAT/Anthony Edwards stack and just hope those four players slug it out all game in GPP. Wood has played about 36 minutes once since moving back from injury and the game should stay close.

Honorable Mention – KAT, Joker, Stewart, and Claxton on DK

Core Four Thursday 3/25

We have a five-game slate tonight and normally, that means that we have a full cash breakdown. Tonight is different because of the Trade Deadline. Of the 10 teams on the slate, at least five have been prominent in trade rumors for weeks. Three or even four others could be in the running to make a deal. With that being said, this article will focus on the four players at the time of this writing. Everything could change by the deadline tomorrow but I’ll be in Discord around lock to help guide who we need to play. Let’s get the ball rolling before the NBA ruins whatever thoughts we have in the Core Four Thursday 3/25!

Core Four Thursday 3/25

Core Four Thursday 3/25 – Member One

Russell Westbrook ($10,900 DK/$11,100 FD) – We typically kick this off with the player that we think has the highest odds at the most fantasy points on the slate. To my eye, Westy has to be front and center for that. Sure, he played like junk last game against these very Knicks but find me a Wizard that played well. He shot terribly, barely recorded any rebounds, and played under 30 minutes. He still hit 40 DK points. I have a hard time believing that he goes 3-14 from the field again and the Wizards will be ready to play after getting humbled the old country way on Tuesday night. Westbrook has mostly been on a tear and I’m looking to go right back to him. The 1.45 FPPM and 31.5% usage will be right back to the forefront tonight.

Core Four Thursday 3/25 – Member Two

Mitchell Robinson DK/James Wiseman FD – On DK, I very well might go with a dual center approach but regardless, I’m interested in both big men. Let’s start with Robinson. He’s coming off an injury and in the first game back, he played just 16 minutes. That ballooned to 30 this past game and he smashed the Washington interior for 40 DK points. That shouldn’t be a huge surprise because Washington is last in paint points allowed and 28th in paint rebounds. Robinson is a limited player but this spot is tailor-made for him.

Wiseman also flashed some potential last game that we should be very interested in. He’s been difficult to peg this year but Coach Steve Kerr did play him 25 minutes. That’s encouraging in and of itself. Now we add in that these teams both play at a top 12 pace and Sacramento is dead last in defensive rating. We saw last night that Clint Capela ripped up the interior of the Kings like it has been all season. They continue to be bottom-five in points allowed in the paint and 27th in rebounding. Don’t get me wrong, Wiseman is NOT Capela at this juncture. He’s also still an elite athlete at the center position and sports a 26.5% usage rate when Steph Curry is off the court.

Core Four Thursday 3/25 – Member Three

Trevor Ariza ($3,100 DK/$4,400 FD) – Alright, this one might look out of place with some of the other players so far. However, if we’re not playing cash games tonight we want to have a scrub to afford some serious star power. Ariza fits the bill for a couple of reasons. First off, he’s just flat out seeing minutes for the Heat. Ariza has only been there for three games and he’s played six, 19, and 23 minutes so far. He took nine shots last game and the matchup against Portland is great since they rank 29th in defensive rating. On top of all that, I’d be somewhat surprised if Miami didn’t make some kind of trade. They’re basically the same team that gave the Lakers a run for their money in the Finals last year. The window is right now for them and Pat Riley won’t sit on the sideline. I’ll take 24-ish minutes at this price tag all day, especially when that player is approaching 10 shots.

Core Four Thursday 3/25 – Member Four

De’Aaron Fox ($8,700 DK/$8,900 FD) – This game overall is the most appealing to me and although he is last on the list, any stack of it starts with Fox. The Warriors play at a top-three pace in the NBA and anytime we get Fox in a pace-up spot, we have to pay attention. He’s under $9,000 on both sites and even on FD, the investment of he and Westbrook at the PG position has my eyes (hence Wiseman at the center spot). With Bagley off the floor for the Kings, Fox sees a usage bump of 2.5% all the way up to 32.8%. Fox also sits sixth in drives per game and fourth in field goal attempts off drives to the hoop. Golden State is fourth-worst in paint points allowed. The usage rate for Fox is a massive number and the game should have the highest O/U of the evening.

We’ve had a nice run of reasonably sized slates lately but that comes to an end tonight. There are 11 games on the hardwood tonight and that can be overwhelming. It’s best to narrow down the pool and pretend at least some games don’t exist. Let’s not waste any more time and get right down to business in the NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/24 and start laying our foundation!

What We Look For In Cash Games

NOTE – Please keep in mind this is the last slate before the trade deadline. We should expect chaos tonight so be prepared and manage the bankroll accordingly.

Luka Doncic ($11,000 DK/$11,000 FD) – I’m not sure if we can realistically fade James Harden regardless of his spot but if there’s a player that can match Harden’s appeal it’s Luka tonight. He has been on a tear culminating in 53 DK points in not even 30 minutes last game. We all know that the Wolves can’t play defense and this is an amazing spot. Not only are they 26th in defensive rating, but Karl Anthony-Towns is also a very poor defender individually. It just so happens that Luka drives the second-most times in the league and he’s going to be able to get wherever he wants to tonight.

Mike Conley ($6,300 DK/$5,800 FD) – He’s a mainstay in the cash column and that certainly won’t change tonight. Brooklyn will play slower than normal since it will be more of Harden in the isolation game but they’ll still play fast. Utah isn’t the snail pace team they used to be as they sit 16th and Conley is still around a 23% usage rate. The last game saw him score 27 DK but he only shot 5-12 from the field and he only played 29 minutes. There’s plenty of room for the floor/ceiling combo for Conley against Brooklyn in a back-to-back situation.

Tomas Satoransky ($4,600 DK/$4,800 FD) – Since Sato has entered the starting lineup, he’s really only had one dud out of six games. That’s a pretty strong ratio for a player at his price point. When we look at the role for Sato in that time, he has a 15.2% usage rate and a 0.91 FPPM. That’s exceedingly solid and he’s second on the team with a 27% usage rate. Cleveland doesn’t play at a fast pace but they rank 24th in defensive rating. That’s plenty poor enough and Sato playing against Collin Sexton/Darius Garland defense is good enough for me.

Honorable Mention – love the De’Aaron Fox and Trae Young combo for the late-night hammer. I don’t believe either will be that popular for cash, however. I also like John Wall (especially if Oladipo is traded), Kyle Lowry, and Terry Rozier.

Shooting Guard

James Harden ($10,900 DK/$11,300 FD) – His price fell by $100 on DK. He remains the only star in the Nets lineup currently and has every chance at 75 DK points or more. It might be an 11 game slate but don’t overthink this one at all. Plug him into every cash game and move on. With a slate this size, it’ll be even easier to find value tonight.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($8,300 DK/$7,000 FD) – I likely don’t need to use SGA on DK but the FD price is crazy low and I’m looking to take advantage if I can pair him with Harden. He’s coming off 47 FD points and yet the price is still just $7,000 flat. Nobody on the Thunder really gets that close to the usage that Gilgeous-Alexander displays at 34.1% without George Hill on the floor. Only Al Horford gets close to the 1.30 FPPM that Shai has and even then, Horford has been rested an awful lot lately and is no guarantee to play. With Memphis sitting eighth in pace, this is a wonderful spot for SGA.

Marcus Smart ($5,900 DK/$5,000 FD) – I’m not buying the Celtics are actually going to deal Smart before the deadline so my fear with him is minimal. The Bucks play at a top-five pace in the league so these are the types of games I like trying to play Smart. I will say that Bruce Brown is also a very strong option at the same price on FD and he’s cheaper on DK but don’t sleep on Smart. He’s off the minutes limit and has played at least 32 minutes in the past three games. Boston has to start making moves so Smart will get everything he can handle and fill the stat sheet with a 0.91 FPPM on the year.

Honorable Mention – Donovan Mitchell, Zach LaVine, Fred VanVleet

Small Forward

Kawhi Leonard ($9,000 DK/$9,500 FD) – He’s a tad cheap on both sites and you can talk about the “revenge” factor if you’d like. Kawhi has played the Spurs seven times and has three games over 55 DK, three over 40 and his first one was under 40. It doesn’t appear that Kawhi carries anything extra in this matchup but he’s appealing regardless. He’s still leading the Clipper with a 29.6% usage rate and a 1.31 FPPM. Now we add in that the Spurs have the 15th ranked pace in the league and that’s still an upgrade for the Clippers who are bottom-five. The Spurs and the Clippers are also right next to each other in rebounding at 12th and 13th, so Kawhi will help in that factor as well.

Gordon Hayward ($7,900 DK/$7,000 FD) – If you’re not going after Kawhi, Hayward makes an awful lot of sense. In the first game with LaMelo Ball sidelined, Hayward went back to being a fantasy monster with well over 40 FD points. He was in the neighborhood for a triple-double and leads the team with a 1.11 FPPM. That’s to go along with a true shooting rate that is high at 62.3% but the usage is going to carry him regardless. Houston is playing at the fifth-fastest pace in the league and is 1-20 in their last 21 games.

Justise Winslow ($3,900 DK/$4,200 FD) – I’m betting we get plenty of other value for the slate but right now Winslow is still an option. He’s seen the minutes get dialed back up to 22 and that’s a green light for his usage off the bench. Since he’s come back into the Grizzlies lineup Winslow has featured a 22.5% usage and a 0.84 FPPM. If he can find his shot, Winslow is going to smash this price point one of these nights. His true shooting is under 40% and if he can cross 20 DK points on that poor of shooting, it has to come around at some point.

Honorable Mention – Michael Porter Jr., Larry Nance, OG Anunoby

Power Forward

Domantas Sabonis ($9,400 DK/$8,800 FD) – I don’t care if Brogdon is back or not, this is a smash spot for Sabonis and he’s very fairly priced. We talked last time about him still possessing a ceiling even with Brogdon and Caris LeVert active, having three games over 50 DK since then. He would have made it four if the Pacers hadn’t gotten blown off the floor last game. Detroit is 25th in rebounding so that’s advantage Sabonis and he can take advantage in the paint as well. The combo of Isaiah Stewart and Mason Plumlee won’t be able to hang with Sabonis and I love him in this spot.

P.J. Washington ($6,000 FD) – I’m not interested in Washington on DK as the price is super high. FD is a different story as he’s only $6,000 flat and gets the same pace spot that we talked about with Hayward. Houston is also bottom-five in rebounding and that should increase the chances Washington has for a double-double. He sees just about an extra 1% in usage without LaMelo which isn’t a ton. However, the 0.98 FPPM makes it work at this price tag and he’s safe for what you’re spending.

Daniel Theis ($5,000 DK/$5,300 FD) – With Thompson still out for the Celtics, Theis stands to benefit. First off, he’ll just have more secure minutes and he hasn’t dipped below 25 in the past handful of games while TT has been out. He’s played as many as 32 and even though the matchup looks tough, Theis has thrived in those lately. He bodied Rudy Gobert and Nikola Vucevic to the tune of 39 and 36 DK points. They’re going to need his size against Greek and Brook Lopez, leading me to think he’s a rock-solid pick at the respective salaries.

Honorable Mention – Giannis, Pascal Siakam (look for Kyle Lowry or Norman Powell to potentially be dealt), Lauri Markkanen

Center

Nikola Jokic ($10,800 DK/$10,800 FD) – You could accuse me of being angry I missed on the Big Honey triple-double last night and you’d be accurate in that assessment. Regardless of my anger, this is another amazing spot for the MVP front-runner. Toronto is 24th in paint points allowed and dead last in rebounding. We all like Chris Boucher and his potential, but he absolutely cannot deal with Jokic down low. Denver is pushing for seeding out West and we just were reminded Joker is a triple-double threat and 70 DK points any given night. If we can reasonably fit Joker and a player like Harden, I’m all for it.

Clint Capela ($7,300 DK/$7,200 FD) – Atlanta has been featuring John Collins a bit more lately but this spot is too good for Capela to pass up at these salaries. Capela is one of the premier paint players in the league, with the second-most touches, the most field goal attempts, and the most rebounding chances in the league. You can’t draw up a better game for Capela. Sacramento is 27th in rebounding in total, 25th in paint rebounds, and dead last in paint points allowed. On paper, Capela should be at least $8,000 tonight.

Honorable Mention – KAT, Nikola Vucevic, Jarrett Allen

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/23

If you ever wanted to know how to define chaos, just look at the Discord from about 8 PM to 9 PM last night. We had all sorts of action with players getting ruled out after lock, which is never fun. Let’s hope we don’t get a repeat of that tonight and have all the pertinent information before tip for the NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/23!

NBA Cash Game Breakdown 3/23 Positions

Point Guard

Ben Simmons ($8,800 DK/$8,200 FD) – I’m leaving off Russell Westbrook because the field will spend up to James Harden if he’s active. If Harden is out, that opens things up a lot more. However, Simmons is an appealing target no matter what. The Sixers are without Embiid and the Warriors are without Steph so I think the game stays close enough. These teams are both top-six in pace and that’s the style of game we should love for Simmons. When Embiid is off the court he’s hovering around a 1.20 FPPM and he’s a sneaky triple-double threat tonight with the Warriors ranking 22nd in rebounding on the season.

Dennis Schroeder ($6,600 DK/$7,000 FD) – Not only is Schroeder going to be one of the primary scoring threats on the Lakers tonight, but he gets the matchup we all love. Guards facing the Pelicans have been a boom for us for the entire season and that should continue tonight. Schroeder struggled with foul trouble of all things last game, picking up five. I doubt that’s an issue tonight and he scored 22 points in just 30 minutes last game. The guard sports a 27.5% usage rate and a 1.09 FPPM on the season without Bron and AD on the floor. This is the perfect spot for him to explode.

Jordan Poole ($5,600 DK/$6,500 FD) – With Curry still being out for the Warriors, we can continue to play Poole even though the prices are getting up there. On FD, I may avoid that salary but DK I’m still more than fine with it. In the past two games without Steph, Poole has played 34 and 38 minutes while recording a total of 16 shot attempts. He’s converted that usage into 25 and 26 real points in those games as well. He and Andrew Wiggins will be the main scoring threats and I would think Simmons defends Wiggins on most possessions, giving Poole an edge.

Honorable Mention – Damian Lillard, Shake Milton

Shooting Guard

James Harden ($11,000 DK/$11,300 FD) – The ONLY and I mean ONLY reason Harden is not in every single lineup tonight is if he’s not active. I’m not sure how to approach it yet if we don’t have news by tip-off but we’ll deal with I when we need to. With Durant and Kyrie off the floor, Harden has a 35.4% usage and a 1.69 FPPM. Do not overthink this one. Harden should be $13,000 on both sites in the situation he’s in tonight. The matchup with Portland who sits 29th in defensive rating is just a bonus.

Talen Horton-Tucker ($5,500 DK/$6,000 FD) – It’s tough to know where to list THT since he’s SF on DK and SG on FD so we’ll settle for SG. Regardless, he’s heavily in play even if he’s playing just 30 minutes per night. He didn’t start last game so don’t panic if he doesn’t again since he and Kyle Kuzma will be the main cogs on the second unit and then mix in with the first. THT is actually higher in both usage and FPPM than Schroder a 28.1% and 1.16. The best part of that is it comes with a 49.1% true shooting rate so if he can hit some more shots, the ceiling is pretty high for the situation.

Bruce Brown ($4,200 DK/$4,000 FD) – The Nets are going to need another ball handler regardless of Harden playing or not. Brown is plenty cheap and he’s got a chance to enter the starting lineup. Even if he doesn’t, the Nets will still need him off the bench in a fairly big way. When Kyrie missed the last game, Brown played 24 minutes and only shot 3-10 from the field but still hit 20 DK points. Given his 0.84 FPPM on the year without Kyrie, I have a significant interest in this matchup.

Honorable Mention – CJ McCollum, Andrew Wiggins (only if he’s projected highly)

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler ($9,300 DK/$9,500 FD) – The SF position is not the greatest tonight and there’s a strong argument to be made to just take Jimmy Buckets and the safety. He’s still flirting with a triple-double on seemingly a nightly basis. The wildcard of this play is the status of Goran Dragic. Butler is mostly stagnant with usage at 27% and FPPM at 1.38 but the opportunities will still increase if Dragic is out. Phoenix is 21st in rebounding and that’s going to accentuate the chances for Butler to record at least a double-double in this spot.

Michael Porter Jr. ($6,700 DK/$6,500 FD) – This is pretty interesting. I have a feeling that if folks play in this range, they likely run to Kyle Kuzma. I can’t really argue with that but I would honestly prefer MPJ if just picking straight up. We talked about it last time Denver played but Porter has been excellent lately. The usage is up to 20% on the season matched with a 0.96 FPPM. Orlando is third in rebounding so Porter will need to help on the glass as much as he can. We’re getting one of the three main cogs for a good Denver offense at a very reasonable price.

Rui Hachimura ($6,000 DK/$5,200 FD) – This man simply will not come off the court anymore. You can basically take it to the bank that he’s playing 35 minutes or more and that can be enough at the FD price. I will say I’m not terribly interested in the DK price because the FPPM is only at 0.73. That’s plenty for barely $5,000 and needing two SF but there’s not a ton of need on DK. Sure, New York plays at one of the slowest paces in basketball but Washington takes care of that end of things. Hachimura is going to fall into production with that much court time.

Honorable Mention – Brandon Ingram, Evan Fournier, RJ Barrett

Power Forward

Tobias Harris ($8,500 DK/$8,800 FD) – I wanted to write up Julius Randle against the Wizards and let’s be clear – I love the spot for him. I have to point out that playing Randle and Harden together could be a hair tricky as they’ll account for 40% of the salary cap on DK and over 33% on FD. That’s a lot of money spent on two players so perhaps we can dip down to Harris. I want some type of exposure to the Sixers in this spot since they’re down significant pieces. Harris shot 5-18 last game and still managed to hit 33 DK points. Don’t get me wrong, that’s not a good return for his price tag but I also don’t believe he shoots that poorly again. Harris is honestly typically my go-to when Biid is out as he has a 29% usage rate and a 1.17 FPPM. I expect that in spades tonight.

Aaron Gordon ($6,900 DK/$6,300 FD) – I find myself really digging Gordon tonight. First off, he’s in the trade rumor mill and I could see the Magic trying to feature him just a bit more than normal before Thursday’s deadline. Considering AG has a 27.2% usage and a 1.14 FPPM, he’s already just slightly underpriced. Now we get him in a game environment where Denver is just average in defensive rating and things look up for Gordon. He could see an awful lot of Michael Porter defense and we always like attacking that. There’s definitely a shot at a ceiling performance here. Denver is also giving up a three-point frequency over 41.5% of the time and Gordon is shooting 40% from deep.

Nicholas Claxton ($3,900 DK/$4,600 FD) – It’s still Speedy Claxton SZN even with the addition of Blake Griffin. First off, Blake played about 15 minutes in the first game with the Nets. That’s not going to kill Claxton as he played 26 minutes. Secondly, I think Claxton might just be a better player at this stage. This game represents a green opportunity for him because he’s either going to see Enes Kanter’s defense or the Blazers will just go small and take Kanter off the floor. Either scenario is a good thing for Claxton. The usage is surprising at 18.8% and the FPPM is 1.12 so he’s still pretty cheap in my eyes.

Honorable Mention – Zion Williamson, Bam Adebayo

Center

Dwight Howard ($6,000 DK/$5,400 FD) – One of the goals of this article is to make sure you can build an actual lineup between this, the Discord, and the model from Ghost. Having said that, it doesn’t do a ton of good to talk about Nikola Jokic or Nikola Vucevic. Both of those players are fine plays but we’re planning to spend on Harden. There’s not even a question about the high-end spend on this slate, so let’s talk about the lower tier of the center position because that seems to fit best with Harden.

Howard catches my eye because of centers against Warriors for the most part. It helps that he played 30+ minutes last game and Golden State may or may not have any player to guard Howard down low. James Wiseman and Kevan Looney are not sure to play yet but even if they do, I still like Howard. I mentioned the Warriors are 22nd in rebounding and on top of that they are 26th in paint points given up. Howard averages 5.9 paint touches per game and this spot is phenomenal.

Enes Kanter ($6,400 DK/$5,900 FD) – There are concerns about him getting pulled off the court and the Blazers going small but the center position is weaker outside the elite options. Kanter is at 7.1 paint touches per night and that’s one of the biggest weaknesses Brooklyn has. They are 20th in paint points allowed and have gotten destroyed by big men all season long. Even in lower minutes, Kanter can hit 6x at these salaries and he’s on my shortlist tonight for the position.
