UFC Vegas 77

HOLM V BUENO SILVA

We had a lot of lines in the money after last week’s amazing card; let’s get a similar result with tonight’s action! Today’s card will kick off at 7:00 PM ET. Be sure to tune in to ESPN to catch all of today’s fights. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13 fights ending with what appears to be a title eliminator for the Women’s Bantamweight title, which was recently vacated by the now-retired legend Amanda Nunes. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!

SLATE STARTS AT 7:00 PM ET

Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both usually active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Vegas 77 Holm vs Bueno Silva.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Fransisco Prado vs Ottman Azaitar

For those who remember, back when the UFC was operating out of Fight Island, Azaitar snuck someone into the UFC locked-down area and was cut as a result. This also led to increased testing for Azaitar and a long time away from the octagon, which we will touch on later. Now onto today’s fight. As the odds suggest, this fight is close. Both fighters are coming off a loss after a solid run and are looking to use this fight as a bounce-back opportunity (Prado losing to Mullarkey via Decision and Azaitar suffering a First Round KO to Frevola). Because of that, I think we’re going to see a lot of aggressiveness and activity as they both want to get back on the right track.

With that being said, I can see heavy back-and-forth action between these two, which makes me believe that Prado will have an edge in this one. We have seen Prado compete in the later rounds, whereas Azaitar really hasn’t had his cardio tested in the octagon. Not to mention, Prado has a big advantage in age, reach and height. On top of that, as mentioned, Azaitar has had one fight in nearly three years (the previously mentioned KO) where his timing looked totally off, he was swinging more, and he was slower to react. Definitely, a lot to keep in mind as we head into this fight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Fransisco Prado UNANIMOUS DECISION.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Jack Della Maddelena vs. Bassil Hafez

After losing out on two fights last week due to opponents pulling out, Della Maddelena has been given another matchup in the co-main event of tonight’s card. Jack Della Maddelena is a promising young prospect who has burst onto the UFC scene with four straight first-round finishes. He’s an explosive talent who can finish people in stand-up and with his grappling. His opponent is making his UFC debut on short notice and could not have a tougher matchup for his first fight. Della Maddelena will make quick work of the UFC newcomer. Expect a first-round finish and the win streak to extend to 15 fights.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jack Della Maddelena FIRST ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Azat Maksum vs. Tyson Nam

In this matchup, we have one of the hottest flyweight prospects in all of Asia making his UFC debut against a fighter who has one foot out the door. With three wins and four losses in his UFC career, Nam has had a really shaky path in the Octagon. Tonight, he’s matched up against an insanely talented grappler in Azat Maksum.

The former Octagon League champion has crazy strength and elite wrestling. Throughout his UFC career, Nam has not shown that he excels in any particular facet of MMA. On top of that, he holds an abysmal strike differential with a Strikes Absorbed per Minute of 5.44 and a Strikes Landed per Minute of only 3.49. Nam has been able to avoid getting taken down in his career, but it also means that we have not seen Nam’s grappling defence. When a grappler as talented as Maksum is taking him down, he will be bringing Nam into a whole different world, one that I don’t think Nam will be ready to compete against, Maksum via Sub.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Azat Maksum SECOND-ROUND SUBMISSION.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Holly Holm 5 ROUNDER

Albert Duraev (BIG UNDERDOG CALL)

Norma Dumont (For Parlays, I would avoid picking an outcome on this fight and just bet on it to go the distance -260)

Terrance McKinney (Sadykhov is a debuting fighter with a lot of talent. This fight is very close, and he definitely has a path to victory in this matchup, but I really like the odds on McKinney, who has been discounted and underrated throughout his career)

Melsik Bahdasaryan (Even coming off a loss, I really like Melsik in this spot, Lutz is not at the UFC level)

Viktoriya Dudakova

Malquizael Costa

Evan Elder

Alex Munoz

Ailin Perez (Great value taking Perez to win via Decision +145)

SUMMARY:

On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I am finally allowed to bet again on UFC as restrictions have now been lifted in my area. As such, I will play 2 Parlays. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK, and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!

PARLAY OF THE DAY

Melquizael Costa -210

Jack Della Maddelena to Finish -375

Azat Maksum to Win via Submission or Decision (Double Chance) -110

UFC 290

VOLKANOVSKI V RODRIGUEZ

We are back in action with UFC 290, today, coming direct from Las Vegas for International Fight Week! Many top fighters and celebrities will be in town to catch all the action, and boy, do we have a super exciting fight card lined up. Today’s card will kick off at 6:00 PM ET. Be sure to tune in to catch all of today’s fights. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13 fights ending with two long-awaited title fights in the Flyweight and Featherweight divisions. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!

SLATE STARTS AT 6:00 PM ET

Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both usually active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC 290 Volkanovski vs Rodriguez.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Dan Hooker vs Jalin Turner

There aren’t a lot of stellar underdogs on this card, so to build lines for DFS, risks will have to be taken on fighters who have winning chances but aren’t necessarily in the best position to win the fight. This includes fighters like Alonzo Menifield, Robbie Lawler, Dricus Du Plessis and, for the purposes of the Value Target on this card, Dan ‘The Hangman” Hooker. Dan was previously ranked 7th in the lightweight division, but after four losses in six fights, his stock dropped, and now he is struggling to stay in the top 15. Hooker is a maniac in the octagon and holds a very high Strikes Landed per Minute rate or SLpM at 4.83 but also carries a very high Strikes Absorbed per Minute rate or SApM of 4.61. As we can see, he is definitely comfortable standing in the pocket and eating shots if it means he can do some damage of his own, and although this strategy has worked for him in the past, it is not the most effective way to win, and it won’t work forever. He’s coming up tonight against Jalin Turner, who is just coming off a close split-decision loss to Mateusz Gamrot earlier this year. Gamrot agreed to fight that night on short notice as Turner was set to fight Hooker, who had to pull out with a broken hand. Now, it’s Turner’s turn to add complications to this fight as he came in two pounds overweight, and this will do two things. It’ll fire up Hooker, and it may signify that Turner had a bad cut or possibly even some problems with his fight camp in the run-up to this bout. This uncertainty makes me like Hooker as a big underdog.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Dan Hooker UNANIMOUS DECISION.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Bo Nickal vs. Val Woodburn

Honestly, this is one of the biggest mismatches in UFC history. Nickal is going to demolish Val Woodburn in a matter of minutes. He is the largest favorite on this card for a very good reason. Nickal burst into the UFC scene with a stellar performance in the Contender Series followed by a 3-minute beat down of Jaime Pickett, which saw Nickal win his first Performance of the Night bonus. Woodburn was set to compete in the Contender Series in about two months, but this a gnarly step up in competition, and this fight will not last long.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Bo Nickal FIRST ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Vitor Petrino vs. Martin Prachnio

Petrino is an undefeated Brazilian prospect who is making his second UFC appearance following a decisive decision win in his last fight against Anton Turkalj earlier this year. Prachnio’s story in the UFC is one of just doing enough not to get cut. He started his UFC career with three straight losses, including a first-round KO loss to Sam Alvey. Since his terrible start, he has racked up three wins and one loss. This fight will be a big test for Petrino, as a win here will start his climb to the top of the UFC Light Heavyweight division. Knowing that, Petrino will have a massive chip on his shoulder with a big point to prove in front of the packed T-Mobile Arena.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Vitor Petrino SECOND-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Alexander Volkanovski 5 ROUNDER

Brandon Moreno 5 ROUNDER (Keep in mind that this is the third time they fought, and Pantoja won the first two bouts, but Moreno has made many significant strides in his progress since their last meeting)

Robert Whittaker (Dricus Du Plessis definitely has some winning chances, he is worth a look for DFS purposes, and I wouldn’t trust Whittaker on parlays)

Robbie Lawler (BIG UNDERDOG CALL)

Tatsuro Taira

Yazmin Jauregui

Alonzo Menifield

Cameron Saaiman

Jesus Aguilar

Esteban Ribovics

UFC on ESPN 48

STRICKLAND V MAGOMEDOV

After a great card on ABC last week, we’re back on ESPN for today’s action! Today’s card will kick off at 4:00 PM ET. Be sure to tune in to catch all of today’s fights. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 12 fights that will end with a heavy-hitting middleweight matchup. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!

SLATE STARTS AT 4:00 PM ET

Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both usually active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ESPN 48 Strickland vs Magomedov.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Damir Ismagulov vs Grant Dawson

This one was a tough call in my opinion. Although Ismagulov came up short in a decision loss to Tsarukyan in his last bout, there is no doubt that he is a top-tier UFC lightweight. As far as I’m concerned, there is no shame in losing to a guy as talented as Tsarukyan. Tsarukyan’s grappling was simply too much for Ismagulov to handle. Although Dawson is also a grappler, he is nowhere near as good as Tsarukyan and his longtime coach James Krause has recently been banned from participating in UFC events. Dawson also had an embarrassing performance against Ricky Glenn where he struggled to fight for a draw after a brutal gassing out following a strong start. I can’t trust Dawson in this spot, Ismagulov is too tricky for many fighters to handle, even Guram Kutateladze, who will be featured later in the article, couldn’t do enough against Ismagulov to get his hand raised. This looks to me like it will be a close back-and-forth fight but I think Ismagulov has an edge here.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Damir Ismagulov UNANIMOUS DECISION.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Guram Kutateladze vs. Elves Brener

As promised, let’s talk about Guram Kutateladze. A longtime training partner of Khamzat Chimaev, the Georgian Kutateladze has had a bit of a hectic run in the UFC with two fights since 2020 both finishing via split decision which saw him pick up a win against top 10 lightweight Mateusz Gamrot and a loss to Damir Ismagulov. Now, Guram is set to return to the Octagon against a relatively unknown Elves Brener. Brener was able to pick up a split decision win over Nurmagomedov’s close friend Zubaira Tukhugov but I did not see enough out of him to see him competing for Guram for an extended period of time. Although Brener may be able to last a round, Guram’s incredible pressure and strike power will eventually overwhelm the Brazilian. With punches, elbows, kicks, and BJJ all at a high level in his arsenal, I see Guram decisively winning this one.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Guram Kutateladze SECOND ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Joanderson Brito vs. Westin Wilson

This fight is a clear mismatch. Brito was scheduled to compete against Khusein Askhabov who Brito would’ve been a clear favorite against as a top 25 featherweight matching up against a fighter who only has one UFC fight under their belt (… and it was a loss). With Askhabov dropping out on short notice, regional talent Westin Wilson answered the call. I want to stress the word regional over talent. Despite three wins over his last four, Wilson is nowhere near UFC quality, let alone at the level of Brito. Wilson has racked up a lot of losses to mediocre talent and does not have a single notable win to his name. From what I have seen out of Brito, he will make quick work out of his short-notice opponent with heavy strikes as well as lots of takedowns. Hopefully, Brito will find himself competing for a top-15 spot in the featherweight division in the near future after a strong performance tonight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Joanderson Brito FIRST-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Sean Strickland 5 ROUNDER

Michael Morales

Melissa Gatto

Bruno Ferreira

Benoit Saint-Denis (BIG UNDERDOG CALL)

Rinat Fakhretdinov

UFC on ABC 5

EMMETT V TOPURIA

After a crazy Vegas Fight Night Card last week, we are headed to the Sunshine State for today’s action! Today’s card will kick off at 11:30 AM ET. Be sure to tune into ABC to catch all of today’s crazy action. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13 fights that will end with a top 5 featherweight fight with a lot of title implications. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!

SLATE STARTS AT 11:30 AM ET

Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both usually active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ABC 5 Emmett vs Topuria.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Jack Jenkins vs Jamall Emmers

After a crazy KO with 30 seconds left in his DWCS appearance, Jenkins followed it up with a clean 15-minute fight against Don Shainis, which showed off Jenkins’ top-notch striking, wrestling and grappling. Jenkins did an excellent job at switching up his striking during his UFC debut. He mixed in kicks, body shots and headshots to the point that Shainis was clearly overwhelmed. Tonight, Jenkins has his biggest test yet against Jamall Emmers. Emmers has had a shaky road in the UFC, going 2-2 after what looked like a strong start with a questionable split decision loss against Giga Chikadze and a win on the regional scene against Cory Sandhagen. Unfortunately, for Emmers, his consistency issues at the top level make it hard for me to be that confident in him in this spot and with Jenkins coming in ready after a big win and as an underdog. Especially after Emmers had some struggles on the scales yesterday.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jack Jenkins SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION).

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Trevor Peek vs. Chepe Mariscal

Trevor Peek has that Alabama power. We saw this in his UFC debut against Erick Gonzalez. All Peek has to do is have on clean connection, and Mariscal will be wobbly. This is a very tough matchup for Mariscal in his UFC debut, and having seen what he has done in the regional scene, honestly, he is very inconsistent. Some nights Mariscal can lay people out, and others, it looks like he doesn’t even belong in the cage. That being said, he has picked up some weaker competition than Peek and has struggled, so I don’t have a lot of confidence in Mariscal in this spot. On top of that, with the odds where they are. I really like Peek as both a parlay piece and a Daily Fantasy play.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Trevor Peek FIRST ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Randy Brown vs. Wellington Turman

This one seems like a bit of a mismatch. Randy Brown is a top 20 welterweight, and Turman usually fights at Middleweight. Despite the fact that it’s Turman making the cut, Brown still has the taller frame and the longer reach. I think Brown is a level above Turman when it comes to his natural skill. I will note that Turman is a BJJ black belt, and Randy is a Brown Belt but other than that, it seems as though Brown will have an advantage everywhere else. Turman is actually one of the UFC fighters who absorbs more strikes per minute than he lands, and Randy actually lands more strikes per minute (4.39 vs 2.92) and absorbs fewer strikes per minute when compared to Turman (3.30 vs 3.79). At this level, those numbers are a significant difference. The biggest red flag for Turman is that he almost lost to Sam Alvey… c’mon man. In all seriousness though, Turman hasn’t impressed me too much and against a fighter like Randy Brown, I think Turman will end up struggling a lot.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Randy Brown SECOND-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Josh Emmett 5 ROUNDER (BIG UNDERDOG CALL)

Amanda Ribas

Gillian Robertson

Sedriques Dumas FADE (Bad vs worse)

Joshua Van (BIG UNDERDOG CALL)

UFC on ESPN 47

VETTORI V CANNONIER

After a trip up north which saw Canadians go 6 for 6 at home, we are back state-side in Las Vegas, Nevada for tonight’s UFC Fight Night Card! Today’s card will kick off at 7:00 PM ET. There are some incredible matchups on tonight’s card, and the UFC has an action-packed lineup tonight on ESPN. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 12 fights that will end with a top 5 middleweight fight with a lot of title implications.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ESPN 47 Vettori vs Cannonier

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Lucas Almeida vs Pat Sabatini

Sabatini has logged a few fights in his UFC career and begun to string together some wins before a brutal KO 1st round KO at the hands of Damon Jackson where Sabatini ate a kick and was never able to recover. Almeida on the other hand is an alumni of the Contender Series, and although his fight there did not go to plan he had a very successful UFC debut against Mike Triziano a year ago where he secured a third-round finish and a fight of the night bonus. That whole fight from Almeida was excellent and despite getting dropped by Triziano in the first, he was able to come back and get knockdowns in both round two and then in round three which led to the finish. I think this fight will be close but from what I have seen out of both fighters, Almeida is stronger on the feet and will be able to trade more in the pocket, whereas Sabatini will try to take the fight into the ground and grind out a decision win. Although Almeida’s takedown defence hasn’t been tested too much throughout his UFC career, I think his extremely high output will end up overwhelming Sabatini early and will eventually open up a spot for the KO.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Lucas Almeida SECOND-ROUND KO.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Arman Tsarukyan vs. Joaquim Silva

This matchup is a bit of a joke. There is an extreme difference in the level of competition between these two. Tsarukyan is a top ten lightweight who has the potential to compete for a belt while Joaquim is not even top 50 and has fought twice in the last four years. On top of that, Silva is 4-3 in his UFC career with losses to Ricky Glenn and Vinc Pichel. Tsarukyan is going to put on a show today, and my only question on this fight is how and when Tsarukyan is going to finish the fight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Arman Tsarukyan FIRST ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Manuel Torres vs. Nikolas Motta

Motta looked promising coming out of the Contender Series but he was lacking a killer instinct, it was even mentioned by Dana White before Motta got signed that he had opportunities to finish and let them slide. Torres on the other hand is the exact opposite, he’s an aggressive fighter who doesn’t mind trading in the pocket in search of a knockout. As was seen in Torres’ Contender Series fight and his UFC debut. I think much like the Almeida fight, Torres’ high output will simply overwhelm Motta and I don’t see this one getting past the first round, depending on Motta’s durability, I can see the fight ending earlier as well. Also of note, Torres is extremely well rounded, if Motta ends up defending the right hook well, Torres is more than capable of taking Motta to the ground.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Manuel Torres SECOND-ROUND KO (possible FIRST-ROUND KO).

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Marvin Vettori 5 ROUNDER

Christian Leroy Duncan

Tereza Bleda FADE

UFC 289

NUNES V ALDANA

Tonight’s UFC action takes us all the way to Vancouver, Canada for the first UFC event in Canada in years! Today’s card will kick off at 7:00 PM ET. There are some incredible matchups on tonight’s card and the UFC is definitely bringing an incredible show to the Great White North. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 11 fights that will end with a highly anticipated return of Amanda Nunes as she defends the UFC women’s bantamweight title against Irene Aldana.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC 289 Nunes vs Aldana.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Charles Oliveira vs Beneil Dariush

Former Champ Charles Oliveira is looking to bounce back after a loss to current lightweight champ Islam Makachev. This is a tough matchup between two incredible competitors. Dariush on one hand has not lost in 5 years amassing an 8 fight win streak. While prior to his loss late last year, Oliveira held an incredible 11 fight winning streak that also lasted five years and included wins against the likes of Gaethje, Poirier, Ferguson and Chandler. To sum it all up, over the last five years, these two have amassed an incredible 19-1 record. This is the matchup we deserve as fans and to say it is close is an understatement. Dariush is coming into this fight as a slight favorite and I can understand why. Dariush is one of the best all-around fighters in the UFC having Black Belts in both BJJ and Muy Thai. That versatility is giving Dariush an edge in a lot of people’s minds. I am not on the same boat as many of those folks. I think that Oliveira will be the one pushing the action in this fight and when it comes to BJJ, Oliveira’s accolades completely overshadow those of Dariush. Oliveira is a third degree BJJ Black Belt like Dariush’s coach Romulo Barral and as we have seen in the Octagon Black Belts like Ferguson were getting torn apart on the mat. Unsurprisingly, Oliveira holds the record for the most Submission wins in UFC history as 16 well ahead of Miller and Maia at 11, Benny on the other hand only holds 5 Submission wins in the UFC. All this to say that when this fight goes to the ground, Benny is going to be treading in some deep water and in my opinion it will simply be too much for him to hande. Dariush’s only clear path to victory is if he keeps Oliveira at distance with kicks and grabs a decision or a flash KO. I don’t see a scenario where grappling will end will for Dariush, and unfortunately for him, I think he’ll only be able to hold off Oliveira’s grappling for so long.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Charles Oliveira SECOND-ROUND SUBMISSION.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Mike Malott vs. Adam Fugitt

In my opinion one of the most underrated fights on this card is Mike Malott vs Adam Fugitt, Mike has had quite a journey in the UFC thus far. After one of the fastest submission finishes in DWCS history as he submitted his opponent in under 40 seconds. That was followed up by two successive first round finishes, on knockout and one submission. In tonights, matchup Malott is rightfully coming in as a clear favorite and the main question I have is how will Malott finish this fight. Throughtout his career he holds a 100% finish rate and his only loss came on the regional scene against another top Canadian UFC talent, Hakeem Dawodu. Fugitt on the other hand is 1-1 in his UFC career thus far and has yet to rise the occasion against an opponent as strong as Malott. What I like most about Malott is that he is extremley fundamentally sound, he has great form on his strikes and his grappling is at a very high level, as he too is a BJJ black belt and has been since 2020. Honestly. I think Fugitt will have a very rough night at the office and that Malott will finish him in prime time in front of his home country fans.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Mike Malott FIRST ROUND SUBMISSION (possible SECOND ROUND KO).

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Blake Bilder vs. Kyle Nelson

It was very hard for me to ignore how big of an advantage Bilder will have in tonight’s matchup against Kyle Nelson. Nelson has had a rough go with things as of late, with four losses, one draw and one win over his last six UFC fights whereas his opponent tonight, Bilder, has an undefeated 8-0-1 record including a clean decision win his his UFC debut earlier this year. Honestly, I think Bilder has an easier matchup in Nelson than his previous UFC opponent Shane Young and that was a fight that he handled with ease. Nelson will seriously struggle with Bilder’s elite level grappling and like many other fights on this card, I see a submission finish in this fight. Unfortunately for Nelson, his reaction time and striking technique is not at a UFC level his strikes landed per minute rate or SLpM is at 2.85 while his strikes absorbed per minute rate or SApM is at 4.89, those stats are terrible and the damage he has taken already throughout his career will definitely have an effect on his future peformances. If he loses tonight and amasses a 1-5-1 record in the UFC, I don’t see him lasting to much longer in the UFC roster.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Blake Bilder FIRST-ROUND SUBMISSION.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

UFC on ESPN 46

KARA-FRANCE v ALBAZI

After a break week from UFC action, we’re back in Vegas for a card thats jam packed with action! Today’s card will kick off at 6:00 PM ET. There are a lot of interesting and exciting fights in this one! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13 fights that will end with a mens flyweight fight between two fighters looking to make a splash into the top 3 of the division.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ESPN 46 Kara-France vs Albazi.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Muin Gafurov vs John Castaneda

Gafurov is making his UFC debut following two impressive performances in LFA, a well-respected UFC feeder league. He also appeared in the Contender Series back in 2021 where he lost a close split decision. Now, Gafurov is getting his chance and it comes against a fighter who has really struggled to put things together as of late. He’s gone 2-2 over his last four UFC fights with his last fight being a savage knockout at the hands of Daniel Santos back in late 2022. Gafurov has a wide range of strikes in his arsenal including spinning kicks and punches that pack a surprising amount of power. Although I think it’ll start slow at first, I think Gafurov finds his timing in the second round and puts Casteneda away.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Muin Gafurov SECOND-ROUND KO.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Jim Miller vs. Jesse Butler

At nearly 40 years old, A-10 has still been grinding at the top level. He’s already got one fight under his belt this year and for his second bout he had two opponents drop out on this card. Despite that, he was able to find a matchup on short notice against regional standout Jesse Butler. Unfortunately for Butler, he has not faced anyone with pedigree of Miller who currently holds 11 submission wins in the UFC tied for the second most in UFC history. I think it’s going to be hard to see him not get submission #12 with this matchup. When grappling with Jim Miller, you’re simply in his world and taking nothing against Butler but he is in way over his head with this matchup. Despite, Miller’s age, he’s a clear favourite in this matchup for a reason. (For DraftKings users, he was priced for his old matchup, so he’s heavily discounted.)

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jim Miller SECOND ROUND SUBMISSION.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Jamie Mullarkey vs. Muhammadjon Naimov

First and foremost, Mullarkey is an absolute savage and has come up big for us multiple times in underdog spots like against Khama Worthy and Devonte Smith. In this spot, there was no way I could ignore him. His opponent is a former Contender Series challenger Muhammadjon Naimov. He came up short against Collin Anglin who himself had a very underwhelming run in the UFC going 0-4 after the win against Naimov. Since the Contender Series fight, Naimov has been able to rack up a few wins but the competition he was facing is nowhere near the level of Mullarkey. Also of note is that this fight is a short notice matchup like the Miller fight as Mullarkey was initially matched up against Guram Kutateladze which originally had Mullarkey coming in as a big underdog. Honestly, there is levels to mixed martial arts and Mullarkey’s level is simply far superior to Naimov’s, I expect Mullarkey to take care of business quite handily in this matchup. (Like the last fight, DraftKings users have BIG VALUE on Mullarkey who is listed on the slate with his price vs Guram when he should be coming in as the most expensive fighter on the slate but is instead coming in as the third cheapest fighter.)

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jamie Mullarkey FIRST-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

UFC Vegas 73

DERN V HILL

After a wild set of fights last week, we’re back in Vegas for a card thats jam packed with action! Today’s card will kick off at 4:00 PM ET. There are definitely some interesting fights in this one and there are a lot underdog matchups as well!! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 12 fights that will end with a womens strawweight fight between two fighters looking to make a splash into the top 5 of the division.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Vegas 73 Dern vs Hill.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Andre Fialho vs Joaquin Buckley

Two hype trains that have been absolutely derailed. What’s interesting about this matchup is that both of these fighters got attention with flashy unexpected finishes, only to come crashing down with multiple losses. Both of these fighters have very similar styles, and they fight in a way where either one can knock the other out. I think for that reason this fight is a tossup and I really like getting underdog money on Fialho here. Also, as a prop but I also really like under 2.5 rounds in this match up.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Andre Fialho SECOND-ROUND KO.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Anthony Hernandez vs. Edmen Shahbazyan

I gained a lot of respect for Hernandez’s ground game when he put away Vieira, an absolute killer on the mat. Shahbazyan had an interesting rise in the UFC as one of Ronda Rousey’s training partners and he had a good run at the start but with not a lot of fights and bad coaching he has now found himself in a position where he’s lost three of his last four UFC fights. Shahbazyan is in a tough spot here because not only has he failed to show improvements but he never lived up to his hype and that mental barrier has to have an effect on this fight. From everything I have seen in the grappling department from these two has shown me that Hernandez will have a clear advantage. The question for me is if he’ll be able to turn that advantage into a finish!

MY UFC DFS PICK: Anthony Hernandez SECOND ROUND SUBMISSION (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION).

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Viacheslav Borshchev vs Maheshate

Both of these fighters have lost their last fight with Slava, losing his last two. In all of these losses, it was the same story, both these fighters haven’t been able to develop their ground game to a UFC level yet and it showed. Because of that I think we’re going to see a very much stand up match up and I think that will slightly benefit Borshchev. Like many fights on this card this fight is also a very close one but Borshchev is a very fast striker, puts a lot of power behind his shots and is very accurate. He only needs to find one or two clean shots to completely finish the fight. After a first round of testing the waters, I think he’ll get it done in the second.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Viacheslav Borshchev SECOND-ROUND KO (possible THIRD-ROUND KO).

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Mackenzie Dern 5 ROUNDER

Orion Cosce (I have not seen anything inspiring out of Urbina and although Cosce is hard to trust and has let me down before. The odds suggest this is a coin flip and I think he has a solid advantage)

Lupita Godinez

Natalia Silva FADE (The value on this fight is terrible and its not worth the risk)

Themba Gorimbo

Nick Fiore (if Fiore and Hooper go to the ground, I would recommend alive, but on Hooper, but other than that Chase Hooper is very one dimensional and outside of Brazilian jujitsu. He is not a good fighter, which is why the UFC is giving him matchups that don’t put them at a big disadvantage)

Karolina Kowalkiewicz FADE (Stay away from this fight, way to difficult to predict and it will be a low output fight)

Michael Johnson (I like Johnson here but I think this photo is very close. I don’t think Ferreira’s a bad call, but I think Johnson should be a favourite in this one and getting him as an underdog is to go to ignore. not to mention Ferreira has lost his last three fights, including tapping to strikes in his last matchup.)

Rodrigo Nascimento

UFC on ABC 4

ROZENSTRUIK V ALMEIDA

We’re back with the biggest card of the month, coming by way of Charlotte, NC, tonight UFC on ABC 4 is set to launch! Today’s action will kick off at 11:30 AM ET. There are some interesting fights in this one. It is definitely worth a watch!! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 11 fights that will end with a heavyweight fight between two fighters looking to make a splash into the top 10 of the division.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ABC 4 Rozenstruik vs Almeida

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Matt Brown vs Court McGee

There are a few underdogs that I was looking at on this card but I had to mention the Immortal, Matt Brown right off the bat. There’s quite a difference in odds here but I think this fight is closer than some people may think. Brown has really been able to turn back the clock a bit as of late going 3-3 over his last six fights. While also not too much older than McGee who has lost four of his last six appearances in the Octagon. There is a fair amount of risk in this one considering that neither of these fighters are at the top of their game anymore but time and time again, I have seen Matt Brown turn back the clock and find the finish even though he came in as an underdog (ie vs Dheigo Lima), I can definitely see it happening here tonight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Matt Brown SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS).

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Alex Morono vs. Tim Means

If these two fighters were the same age, I’d be a lot less confident in this pick. Tim Means is nearly 40 years old and on the wrong end of a two-fight losing streak. He’s coming up against an experienced and much younger guy in Morono who has won four of his last five UFC fights. Morono is not the flashiest fighter but he has a very high output. It’ll take a lot to put away Tim Means but at the end of the day, I think Morono’s volume and continuous pressure will prove to be too much for Tim Means. Who after tonight will have finished 27 UFC fights in an 11-year career in the organization. Regardless of the result, Means is a true legend.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Alex Morono UNANIMOUS DECISION.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Karl Williams vs. Chase Sherman

After having this fight cancelled on an earlier card because of a Sherman medical issue, not much has changed in those few weeks. I still think Williams packs a lot o power and more than I’ve seen Chase Sherman be able to handle. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sherman was able to survive the first round, but I’d be shocked if he made it out of the second. Williams has very heavy hands and he’s not afraid to take fights to the ground. My only concern with Williams is his fight style, he won his last two fights by Unanimous Decision with a lot of control time and not a lot of strikes. Realistically I don’t even think Sherman is the toughest competition Williams has faced to this point, so I see Williams having an easier time in this fight than some of his others. Sherman only has two wins over his last ten UFC fights, he does just enough to stay in the organization, however, if he loses tonight, I don’t he’ll see much more time on the UFC roster.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Karl Williams SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION).

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Jailton Almeida 5 ROUNDER

Anthony Smith (I think the way Johnny Walker fights is really entertaining but his fight IQ is very poor, he misses a lot of opportunities to try and go for flashy shots. Regularly puts himself in dangerous areas and has paid the price for it on more than one occasion. Tonight, he’s up against a former title challenger in Anthony Smith who knows how to take advantage of those weak areas)

Carlos Ulberg (Be very careful when playing Ulberg, I am not confident in him and I think this fight is a lot closer than the odds suggest. I even think the value might be on Poteria. I would leave this fight off your DFS lineups. There’s better value on this card)

Cody Stamann FADE (This is going to be a grapple fest, their DFS value will be very low on both ends, I think Stamann has better grappling and will be leading most of the grappling exchanges in this fight)

Ji Yeon Kim FADE

Bryan Battle

Tainara Lisboa FADE (Stay away from this fight, way to difficult to predict and it will be a low output fight)

Daniel Rodriguez (This is deep GPP play and although I like what Garry has been able to accomplish in the UFC thus far, there is no doubt in my mind that there is a massive hype train behind him boosting his odds by a lot. -300?? against D-Rod???? I don’t think Garry has faced a challenge like D-Rod in the UFC yet and even so, there were some moments that concerned me in his earlier fights. This one will be close, I think all the value is on Rodriguez here.)

UFC 288

STERLING V CEJUDO

We’re back with the biggest card of the month, coming by way of Newark, NJ, tonight UFC 288 is set to launch! Today’s action will kick off at 6:00 PM ET. There are great fights up and down this card and I can’t wait to break it all down for you!! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 12 fights that will end with a long-awaited grudge match for the UFC Bantamweight Championship.

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC 288 Sterling vs Cejudo.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Braxton Smith vs Parker Porter

I honestly don’t understand how Braxton Smith is an underdog in this matchup. Sure, he started his career in 2014 with a loss to Chase Sherman back in 2014 but fast forward to 2022 and he started his career again but now he is coming into his UFC debut with five straight wins, all coming by first-round KO. Although Porter will be the toughest opponent Smith has faced to date, by UFC standards this is a gift of a debut matchup. Despite three straight wins early on in his UFC career (none were impressive, all three had a judge scoring the fight 29-28), Porter has since been on the receiving end of two first-round finishes and now sees himself on the chopping block if he can’t get a result out of this fight. Smith is a power puncher with great movement and can be known to let a kick or two fly if the opportunity presents itself. Realistically, the odds show Smith as the underdog since in five real fights, we don’t know too much about him, especially how he would handle adversity. However, Porter’s fight style is well known at this point and I have not been impressed with what I’ve seen out of him, at plus money, I’m going for the newcomer Braxton Smith.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Braxton Smith FIRST-ROUND KO.

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Movsar Evloev vs. Diego Lopes

For those who follow MMA news closely, you will have seen that Evloev was initially slated to fight Bryce Mitchell but Mitchell unfortunately had to pull out with a Back Injury. A big setback for the UFC as they previously tried to make this matchup late in 2022, but it also had to be canceled as Evloev pulled out with an undisclosed injury. In this case, the UFC was able to find a short-notice replacement for Evloev in Diego Lopes who was preparing for a fight in Fury FC two weeks ago which also got canceled. So, we don’t know too much about Lopes except that he has fought in the combat Jiu Jitsu Worlds twice, he cornered Alexa Grasso in her title win, and he lost a 29-28 fight in the contender series as he was held down for over seven minutes by Joanderson Brito. If Brito can hold Lopes down for seven minutes, Evloev will be able to hold him down for an hour, Evloev is a Master of Sport in Greco-Roman Wrestling back in Russia and has a perfect 6-0-0 record in the UFC and has an average of around five minutes of control time in all of his UFC fights. What will be interesting to see in this fight is how Evloev wins. To date, he does not have a finish in the octagon but tonight will be his best chance to secure a finish tonight against a short-notice fighter making his UFC debut. Realistically, the odds are as they are because of how unpredictable the fight is. Evloev is the heaviest favorite on the card but the specific finish odds are split between finish and decision because both seem very possible. Overall, Evloev to win is one of the safest picks of the card, the difficulty is picking how he will win. (Not great value for GPP, I would only consider him for Cash Games)

MY UFC DFS PICK: Movsar Evloev SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION).

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Khaos Williams vs. Rolando Bedoya

Khaos is back!! After nearly a year away from the Octagon, Williams returns to fight against Rolando Bedoya who is making his UFC debut following an 11-fight winning streak. Bedoya has had some questionable matchups throughout his run of wins but has also fought some legitimate competition. However, nothing compares to the level of competition he will be facing tonight. Williams is in the top 25 of the UFC welterweight division and he should be able to finish this fight cleanly as the odds suggest. Bedoya may cause some problems for Williams early but as the fight goes on I think Williams’ experience will start to come through and by the second round, Williams will have complete control of the fight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Khaos Williams SECOND-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Aljamain Sterling 5 ROUNDER (This is a very close matchup. Although I have not been thoroughly impressed with Aljo throughout his career, he has been working very hard lately. He’s clearly putting in the work and his opponent hasn’t fought in the octagon in just under three years. It’ll be a lot of ring rust to shake off and I think Sterling can take advantage. I am not knocking Cejudo though, he can definitely pull a result out of this fight, but I am leaning more toward Aljamain in this one, especially as a slight underdog)

Gilbert Burns (It is time, Belal will get absolutely exposed tonight. He was able to handle Sean Brady but Burns is a different beast. Belal’s boring fight style will not work tonight, and the difference between these two when it comes to their ground games will be apparent right off the bat. Frankly, I think Burns has better hands than Belal, he can very much finish this fight on the feet. Either way, Burns is the better fighter and I am shocked that the odds are as close as they are tonight.)

Ikram Aliskerov

Claudio Ribero FADE

Kennedy Nzechukwu FADE

Charles Jourdain (Kron Gracie will have a clear grappling advantage in this one but I think that Jourdain will own the standup and Gracie has not fought since a 2019 loss to Cub Swanson, nearly four years of ring rust will have an effect on the fight)

Marina Rodriguez (This one is very close as the odds suggest, if there was more value on Jandiroba, I would suggest taking her to win because of the value but in this circumstance, even the odds are close. I’ll stick with the elite striking of Marina Rodriguez)

Drew Dober (Add this to your parlay, he’s gonna bully Frevola)

Jessica Andrade

SUMMARY:

On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I am finally allowed to bet again on UFC as restrictions have now been lifted in my area. As such, I will play 2 Parlays (including the four legger below). Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments.
