I’m starting with the Stacks section for a reason. I just wanted to make it clear that I really love the Milwaukee Brewers today against Stephen Brault. The Brewers have been hitting well as of late, averaging a .282 team BA over the past week with an .821 OPS. Both of these stats are ranked second highest in the league. The Brewers also own a league high .351 OBP over the past week. Now onto Brault. The Pirates starter has actually been pitching well as of late, with a 0.96 ERA over his last two starts. Despite looking solid recently, Brault has consistently allowed right-handed batters to hit for average and power as he’s allowed righties to hit .305 in 95 at-bats with four home runs. With Brault’s road ERA of 6.23, this is looking like my stack of the day. The Brewers have some very talented right-handed batters and I expect them to tee off against Brault in a big way. Milwaukee is favored by -180 with a 10 under/over.
Kansas City’s under/over was very surprising to me. A 10 under/over is very high for such a large park in Kaufman Stadium. This is an indicator that Vegas is very confident in some Kansas City offense today against Reynaldo Lopez. He might be the worst pitcher in the league at the moment and Kansas City should definitely take advantage of that as the last four teams that faced Lopez did. The Royals are favored by -120 with a 10 under/over.
First Base – Kevin Cron, Arizona Diamondbacks
FanDuel: $2,200 DraftKings: $4,000
This is a great FanDuel Play. Check out that price difference. Cron is playing in the Rogers Centre, which allows the most home runs in the league. Cron has homered in each of his last two and faces Clayton Richard. Splits are in Cron’s favor and Richard has allowed a 4.15 ERA over his last two starts. Arizona is the favorite at -130 with a 9 under/over.
Second Base – Hernan Perez
FanDuel: $2,100 DraftKings: $3,700
Another great FanDuel play. What is going on with these massive pricing differences these days? Regardless, we’re going to take advantage of it. A right-handed second baseman would be nice for the Brewers today so I do expect Perez to start. As I mentioned in the Stacks section, Brault is struggling against right-handed batters and Perez should benefit off that. Let’s see where/if he ends up in the lineup.
Shortstop – Orlando Arcia
FanDuel: $2,500 DraftKings: $3,800
We are going to have some extra salary to spend up today as I am loving these cheap bats. Arcia has averaged 16.9 FanDuel points over his last two and is a right handed Milwaukee bat. Arcia has a massive ceiling which we saw six games back against Pittsburgh when he double donged, totaling 50.6 FD points.
Third Base – Cheslor Cuthbert
FanDuel: $3,000 DraftKings: $3,900
Kansas City is another great play today as they face the worst pitcher of the year, Reynaldo Lopez. Cuthbert has two homers over his last five and should be an integral part of Kansas City’s success today. The Royals are favored by -120 with a 10 O/U.
Outfield – Starling Marte
FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $5,200
Marte owns a .448 BA with three doubles, one triple and two home runs in 33 at-bats against Chase Anderson. He has not been pitching well lately with a 9.00 ERA in his last start and a 6.00 ERA over his last two. Anderson also struggles against right-handed batters, allowing a .312 BA over 77 at-bats to opposing righties. Marte is my one-off of the day.
Washington Nationals
Whenever the White Sox run Dylan Covey to the bump, there should be interest in stacking against him. The right-hander is basically everything we look for when searching for a pitcher to target against. Covey is a flyball pitcher with a 40% flyball rate. And he is not missing any bats. Covey also has a slate low 16.02% whiff rate and is allowing contact on 85.8% of swings taken by the opposition. The flyballs and heavy contact have led to a slate high 6.44 SIERA.
So of course, we want to get some Nationals in our DFS lineups for Wednesday. The Washington stack needs to start with Juan Soto (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings: $5,700). The outfielder has the best matchup of any of the Nationals’ batters. Soto has a .230 ISO versus right-handed pitching while Covey is allowing a .368 wOBA to lefty batters. Some other lefties worth considering, if they are in the lineup are: Gerardo Parra (FanDuel: $2,500 DraftKings: $4,200) and Matt Adams (FanDuel: $3,100 DraftKings: $4,400). Both lefties have ISOs above .240 versus righties in 2019.
Feel free to get Anthony Rendon (FanDuel: $4,500 DraftKings: $5,900) and Howie Kendrick (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $5,800) in your lineups. Both have crushed right-handed pitching all year and should have no problem making light work of Chicago’s Dylan Covey.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Any time the Dodgers’ offense is opposed by a righty, they have to be considered for stacking purposes. Against right-handed pitching this season, Los Angeles has been very successful. As a team they have a .218 ISO and a .353 wOBA) against right-handed pitching.
And tonight should be no different. While the Diamondbacks’ Jon Duplantier has a respectable 3.18 ERA, there is some regression coming. On the season he is allowing a 45.5% hard contact rate, highest on the slate. We have also seen his velocity dip almost three MPH since the start of the season.
As you look to stack Dodgers’ bats, use their lefties. Duplantier has allowed a 58.8% hard contact rate to left-handed bats this season. So, your L.A. building blocks would include the likes of: Joc Pederson (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $5,600), Cody Bellinger (FanDuel: $4,800 DraftKings: $5,800), Corey Seager (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $4,600) and Max Muncy (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $4,900). All four of these Dodgers’ left-handed batters have accumulated at least a .200 ISO versus right-handed pitching and should hit a few balls hard against the Arizona starter in this one.

Alcantara is allowing a .323/.429/.485 slash line instarts where is coming in with five days rest. He last pitched May 30th.
While thisstack is appealing enough with that in mind, also consider that the Brewers’offense has a .201 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season. Load up on thefollowing Brewers: Christian Yelich (FanDuel: $4,900 DraftKings: $6,000), MikeMoustakas (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $5,600), Yasmani Grandal (FanDuel: $3,600DraftKings: $5,100) and Eric Thames (FanDuel: $3,000 DraftKings: $5,100). You will want to get Marcell Ozuna (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings: $5,200), Matt Carpenter (FanDuel: $3,200 DraftKings: $4,300) and Paul Goldschmidt (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,300) in your lineups. Carpenter and Goldy each have over 1.500 OPS against the Reds’ starter in their careers.

A Through Z 2019 MLB Season Preview – Written by Adam Zibuda
The 2019 MLB season has technically already started, with two games between the Mariners and Athletics taking place in Japan, where the Mariners got their season started off to a nice undefeated 2-0. Opening day however, is now just under a week away and we will see the first pitch thrown on the mainland on Thursday March 28th. To say that the MLB DFS industry is buzzing would be an understatement as the sites are gearing up to one of the biggest MLB seasons ever due to the legalization of sports betting taking place across the states.
There has been no shortage of massive free agent contracts this MLB offseason, with Mike Trout taking the cake with his absurd $430M deal for 12 years with the Angels. Bryce Harper joined in on the fun as well, signing with the Phillies for a lengthy 13-year deal worth $330M. Marwin Gonzalez also signed with the Minnesota Twins for 2 years and $21M while Manny Machado joined the elite contract ranks with his 10 year $300M signing, albeit with the lowly Padres who do not project to be much better in 2019.
The Boston Red Sox are bringing back most of their roster from their 2018 championship run, and should be contenders when October rolls around. The Atlanta Braves are a young and talented team, but might not have enough of a well-rounded roster to really compete when it counts. A couple of other teams that I am excited to watch in 2019 are the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Astros have the bats and the pitching to get it done, which is tough to do in MLB today as plenty of teams have secured the bats but really lack the arm talent to compete down the stretch. The Astros will almost definitely be playing in October this season. The Dodgers got shown up by Boston in the World Series last year, but they will come back hungry this season and look to return to baseball’s biggest stage. The Brewers do not get nearly the press and attention as the Sox, Astros, and Dodgers, but they are a sneaky team that has some serious potential this year. They have depth at nearly every position, along with the talent to potentially dominate their NL Central opponents.
With quite the eventful offseason, the 2019 MLB season is shaping up to live up to all of the hype, and the DFS industry will flourish right alongside.
