As we await the beginning of the 2021 splits, there is some League of Legends (LoL) action in the DraftKings lobby as LPL teams face off in the NEST tournament. For those that haven’t realized already, this tournament is unranked, meaning teams have been mixing in new starting lineups, using plenty of substitutes, and players we have no seen before – what this means is normal favorites, such as, say, any team versus BLG, is not as automatic in this tournament considering these are scrims; scrims are when these teams get together for unranked matches to prepare for the upcoming split – think of it as not only NBA or NFL preseason, rather it is more as if two teams got together just to play a scrimmage for fun before preseason even begins. There are still big prizes to be won, so let’s get to it:

LoL Matchup #1: EDG (-120 PK) vs FPX (-120 PK)

EDG showed a lot of upside in their last game with strong play from JieJie in the jungle and 0909 controlling mid lane. Unless Crisp plays for FPX, I’ll side with EDG to take down Lwx and co.; EDG holds most of the lane advantages and should be able to ride that out to victory,

Pick: EDG (-120 PK)

LoL Matchup #2: Rogue Warriors (+175) vs Vici Gaming (-250)

Not as much of a surprise to see RW and VG make it to the LoL NEST Finals considering they’re essentially the only times running their projected starting lineups for the upcoming splits; given that most people will likely be on VG and hedge the first game, I prefer to take the upside of RW in team fights, especially Youdang and ZWuji who can hold lane advantages over Aix and iBoy. Whichever side you end up stacking, this is the matchup where your 4-man stack should be coming from.

Pick: RW (+175)

LoL Matchup #1: Vici Gaming (-450) vs Suning (+300)

PositionVGSN
TOPCubeluuuck
JNGAixView
MIDForgeforse
ADCiBoyAssum
SUPHangowo

The first of two matches is pretty set to me; on a traditional two-game LoL slate, there is always the option to hedge both matches to ensure that at least one of your lineups has the winning combination of series winners. However, if we’re taking a stand, it starts right here with VG defeating the reigning runner-up at the 2020 Worlds. Rolling out the lineup that we should see in this year’s upcoming splits versus a Suning squad that has no regular starters is pretty hard to pass up; Cube is the guy that interests me the most here, as he should have a field day with View in top lane.

Pick: VG (-450)

LoL Matchup #2: Rogue Warriors (+110) vs FunPlux Phoenix (-150)

PositionRWFPX
TOPBoWenXiao7
JNGYoudangYouxin
MIDWumingInsulator
ADCZWujiLwx
SUPLeyShenyi

The second of two matches is where we can get different. Despite being a favorite in this game, we’ve said it time and time again that Vegas odds for eSports are not necessarily as indicative as for traditional sports just yet, and while I thought RNG should not have been a favorite yesterday versus FPX, I don’t think they should be here versus RW. What we saw on Map 1 of 3 from FPX in their series yesterday versus RNG was truly was truly a remarkable comeback – but RW plays much more aggressively than RNG and won’t let that occur versus them here. ZWuji will have his hands full with Lwx, but with Crisp projected to be out with an illness, the bot lane duo of will be able to hold their own and ride out lane advantages in the mid and jungle to victory here. If you’re hedging a game, it’s this one, which should also be your 4-man stack.

Pick: RW (+110)

There are still big prizes to be won, so let’s get to it:

LoL Matchup #1: RNG (-138) vs FPX (+100)

The first matchup of the slate is a true coin flip. FPX will be without star MID, Doinb, but we’ll see the strong bot lane of FPX with both LWX and Crisp starting. Lele has been surprinsgly active for an RNG side that has fully moved from Betty to GALA at the AD carry position, but I side with FPX in the bot lane. In the mid lane, we all saw what a force Cryin was with eStar, but he is still adjusting to play ever since he rejoined RNG and is a potential sub candidate with Xiaohu stepping aside for this one. Fellow starters New (TOP) and XLB (JNG) take the rift for RNG, while FPX will be without both Tian and a top laner considering both GimGoon and Khan have moved on in free agency. I’ll side with RNG for a 2-1 victory, but will have plenty of FPX due to the combination and upside of the bot lane duo of LWX and Crisp.

RNG: New, XLB, Cryin, GALA, Lele

FPX: xiao7, Youxin, Insulator, LWX, Crisp

LoL Matchup #2: RW (-250) vs LGD Gaming (+175)

This is one game where I will not be having exposure to both sides; RW has starting 4 regular starters religiously throughout the tournament, and nothing has changed here today. With Youdang (JNG), Wuming (MID), ZWuji (ADC) and Ley (SUP) all set to hit the rift for the Warriors, there is no reason to think LGD takes this one other than purely hedging or going for a low owned stack in a large field tournament. Nearing the top of the LPL for consecutive splits in kills per map and deaths per map, RW games are wildly entertaining – and great for DFS. They’re pricey, but well worth the 4-man stack.

Pick: RW (-250)

Starters: BoWen, Youdang, Wuming, ZWuji, Ley

LoL Matchup #3: Team WE (-175) vs EDG (+125)

The third matchup sees another entertaining LPL squad in Team WE taking on EDG. The former will be without their star jungler, beishang, where frigid is projected to start for the favorite. On the flipside, EDG’s lineup remains in question, so make sure to pop in discord for updates. Ultimately, I’ll side with WE here simply because they have the best player on the rift in Jiumeng (ADC) and the formidable bot lane duo he makes with Missing (SUP). While BBD has shown flashes of upside as an AD carry, there’s too much uncertainty in this lineup for me to trust it on such a variable slate – Shanks is the real deal in the mid lane and is the future of the team, so he, along with the bot lane duo mentioned, as the priority for me here.

Pick: Team WE (-175)

Starters: Coten, frigid, Shanks, Jiumeng, Missing

EDG: xiaoxiang, JieJie, ___, BBD, ___

Tonight we are back for League Of Legends (LOL). We are in full force with the World Championship! The World Championship is a combination of the best LOL teams in the World playing for that shot at being crowned the best in the World. Now down to FOUR teams and the Semi-Finals, in a very competitive Esports competition.

We have two very intriguing semi-final matchups tomorrow and Sunday for some entertaining LOL DFS. Tomorrow we begin the semi-finals of the World Championship with Damwon Gaming (DWG) (-260) facing off against G2 Esports (G2) (+180), and on Sunday, Suning (SN) (+145) is facing off against Top Esports (TES) (-200). Both will be entertaining, to say the least, in their best of five series matchups. The winner of both matchups will be battling it out for the crown and title of the world’s best league of legend team!

TOP PLAY: (Sunday 6 AM EST)

TOP ESPORTS (TES) (-200) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 15.5) VS. SUNING GAMING (SN) (+145) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 12.5).

My top play of this LOL DFS slate s going to come from the battle that is taking place on Sunday, October 25th. The match between Suning (+145) and TES (-200) is going to be memorable, to say the least. Suning has shown that they can run with the big boys and have fought tooth and nail all the way into the semi-finals of the world championship tournament. They recently defeat JDG in an impressive 3 to 1 victory. Suning has the power and strategic planning to come out on top here, but I feel that TES will stop them in their tracks.

TES is a very determined team, and have been at the top of the standings for almost two years now. They tend to exploit every weakness their opponent shows them and can turn any game around in their favor. I believe that JackeyLove (ADC) and Knight (MID) will be the the decision-makers in this game and will send SN home packing, coming just short of their world title shot.

MY ESPORTS DFS TOP PLAY:

TOP ESPORTS (TES) (-200) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 15.5).

SECONDARY PLAY: (Saturday 6 AM EST)

G2 ESPORTS (G2) (+180) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 12.5) VS. DAMWON GAMING (DWG) (-260) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 16.5).

My secondary play could very-well outscore my top play if the stars align for them. G2 Esports (+180) will be in a dogfight with none other than Damwon Gaming (-260). DWG has been a force all year long and will give G2 a very difficult time. If DWG leans on Canyon and ShowMaker as they have previously, they can defeat anyone. The second that they start to second-guess their strategic planning; it will cause their demise.

G2 has been playing every team very aggressively. They have fought back in games, lost games, and won games. They are the world’s wildcard, in my opinion. G2 can either be an extreme BOOM play or an awful BUST play. In this spot versus DWG, I think that G2 will struggle at first, maybe lose the first game, but once they get their movement and strategy down to a science, they will thrive. G2 has to lean on both Caps and Perkz to break through into the finals, and I believe they will succeed. I project that G2 wins this series but needs all five matches to do it.

MY ESPORTS SECONDARY DFS PLAY: G2 ESPORTS (G2) (+180) (PROJECTED KILLS PER GAME 12.5)

DFS FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:

JACKEYLOVE (ADC) (TES)

CAPS (MID) (G2)

KNIGHT (MID) (TES)

PERKZ (ADC) (G2)

KARSA (JNG) (TES)

SHOWMAKER (MID) (DWG)

HAUNFENG (ADC) (SN)

GHOST (ADC) (DWG)

ANGEL (MID) (SN)

CANYON (JNG) (DWG)

ESPORTS DFS SLATE SUMMARY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI-FINALS:

I will be building TEN ESPORTS DFS lineups. Most of my stacks will be four/three. I will prioritize using ADC and MID in my captain spot. If I can not use ADC or MID, I will use any of the other positions to build my lineups with the teams I have selected. My positions in order of preference is ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, then SUP.

The Group Stage of the 2020 LoL Worlds has concluded and we are now live for our first two quarter-final matchups between some regional foes; DWG sees DRX in a rematch of the LCK Summer Split finals, while JDG sees another LPL representative in Suning with a berth in the semi-finals on the line. Remember, these series are now Best of 5 so there are a few additional components to consider when constructing our lineups: although we would want the team we predicted to go 3-0 at the “Team” spot in our lineups last week in a reverse 4-3 type of lineup construction, this is not a round robin with 4 teams and 6 games where they each face one another on the same slate; bonuses will be key to getting to the top of our GPP leaderboards and we need to identify the correct path. Let’s dive in:

LoL Matchup #1: DAMWON Gaming (-800) vs DRX (+450)

As mentioned above, our LoL slate begins with a rematch of the LCK Summer Split finals between DWG and DRX. Although they have been playing slower than they typically did in the Summer Split, DWG is still averaging 0.571 kills/minute at Worlds, which would be good for 6th-most in history. In case you can’t read between the lines, let me just come out and say that this team can do it all: they hold all major advantages at the 15-minute mark versus their LCK foe, in addition to holding the advantage in major objectives. If DRX can somehow win the bot lane and run through Deft/Keria, they may steal a game, but I just don’t see it – as good as Chovy is, he’s in for another long series here versus ShowMaker in the mid lane, making the latter a top priority in DWG stacks, in addition to Canyon’s absurd 76.5% kill participation rate.

The Pick: DWG 3-0

LoL Matchup #2: Suning (+137) vs JD Gaming (-188)

I wish our second matchup wasn’t another regional one, but it shows just how good the LPL and LCK are; on Friday morning, we get to see JDG take on Suning. Although SN holds the advantage in rift herald percentage, first turret percentage, and vision, JDG has better numbers when it comes to major objectives and statistics at the 15-minute mark. When we break this one down based on lane matchups, JDG seems to separate themselves from their counterparts; although bin (TOP) has the raw talent, Zoom is simply more active and scales better, while Kanavi, who is one of, if not the best jungler in the LPL, should be able to handle SofM all series long. In the bot lane is where things get dicey; Huanfeng and SwordArt have shown potential, but they can also be the demise of their team’s fights if they’re not on the same page, which won’t fly versus the likes of Loken and LvMao. JDG gets this one done, and with them averaging 0.547 kills per minute at Worlds right behind DWG, they make for a good option in a Day-2 four-man stack.

The Pick: JDG 3-1

LoL Matchup #1: G2 (-500) vs TL (+333)

The first matchup on the slate sees G2 taking on TL; the latter has looked abysmal throughout Worlds, plays tremendously slow, and will be in tough versus a G2 squad who holds all of the lane advantages. G2 should pounce early and often, although they may have a capped ceiling with TL seeming completely uninterested in team fights. If you are going G2, make sure to lock in Caps (MID), who is one of the best players the 2020 LoL Worlds has to offer from a DFS perspective.

Pick: G2 (-500)

LoL Matchup #2: Suning (-400) vs Machi eSports (+275)

The second matchup on the slate has a lot of potential – at times, Machi seems to be able to farm and play the long game, but they often play to their opponent’s style rather than their own. This plays right into SN’s game, who will force them to make mistakes early and often and try to get both Huanfeng (ADC) and bin (TOP) some early lane advantages. Give me the LPL favorite in a ton of GPP lineups versus a Machi team that has topped 20 or more deaths in three of four losses thus far.

Pick: Suning (-400)

LoL Matchup #3: DragonX (-400) vs FlyQuest (+275)

With NA teams playing awfully slow, DRX may have a capped ceiling to get us to the top of the leaderboards, but their prices on DK are great for cash games considering their matchup here. With Power of Evil always holding it down for his squad, he’ll be another one-man show here, but he’s in tough versus Chovy in the mid lane. With how teams have continuously picked on Solo all tournament long, tonight should be no different, which makes both Doran and Pyosik the players to target here.

Pick: DRX (-400)

LoL Matchup #4: Top eSports (-1000) vs Unicorns of Love (+550)

Lock of the slate; don’t get cute with this one. TES asserted their dominance versus DRX and played a skillful draft outside their usual style, showing just how talented they are. It starts with the infamous duo of Knight and JackeyLove, who, while are priced at the top of the grid on DK, have the highest ceilings in a matchup versus a UoL team that loves to pile up deaths and play fairly aggressively when they want to. If a slower team like DRX can have 22 kills versus UoL, just imagine what Knight (MID) and JackeyLove (ADC) will do here.

Pick: TES (-1000)

LoL Matchup #5: GenG (-250) vs Fnatic (+175)

This game lacks the appeal for our fantasy lineups in a similar fashion to DRX, but I do lean the LCK team in this one over their regional representatives. While FNC isn’t known for playing as aggressive as other teams on this slate, such as UoL and Machi, they can pile up deaths, as seen in most of their losses where they get in the 18-20 range. Lock for GenG to play through the bot lane where Ruler should have his way with Rekkles. The pricing on GenG is good enough to 4-man stack them in GPPs with the hope of topping 20+ kills; focus on Ruler (ADC) and BDD (MID) here, with an honorable mention to Clid (JNG).

Pick: GenG (-250)

LoL Matchup #6: LGD Gaming (-200) vs Team SoloMid (+150)

It’s no fun to be ending the slate with yet another favorite that we like to win, but TSM will prove to be no match for the LPL squad. Although I have no interest in stacking them a bunch in GPPs due to how slow TSM plays, LGD should come in underowned and could be a good leverage spot; they’ll get up early and can win this one on individual talent alone, but if you’re riding the Bjergsen show in the mid lane for a TSM upset with the hopes that they turn it on versus an aggressive LGD team, I can’t blame you.

Pick: LGD (-200)

With the Play-Ins now settled, we’re moving on to the League of Legends (LoL) Group Stage at Worlds 2020. We have another six matchups on tap for Day 2 with some more familiar teams for those that have been playing LoL since the beginning of the pandemic back in March, so let’s get to it:

LoL Matchup #1: Team Liquid (-250) vs Machi eSports (+175)

With PSG Talon representing the PCS fairly well in Play-Ins, the attention now turns to the champions of the region in Machi, who beat PSG in the regional finals. On the flipside, TL comes in having gone 3-1 in the Group A Play-Ins. TL has the major advantage in the mid lane and should let Jensen carry them to victory; they’ll be popular in cash, and rightfully so, because of their cheaper price tags compared to other heavy favorites, but for tournaments, I’m primarily looking to limit my lineups to a Jensen one off or pairing Tactical (ADC) with CoreJJ (SUP) because of how slow TL plays.

The Pick: TL (-250)

LoL Matchup #2: Suning (+120) vs G2 (-163)

The second matchup on the slate is the one that intrigues me the most: we get two teams that play fairly aggressively and have similar playing styles, which could lead to one of them being in the optimal LoL GPP lineup. These teams are both fairly close in first-objective rates, so when we break it down by lane advantages, I do favor the Suning side: the bot lane duo of Huanfeng/SwordArt are often overlooked in a region that features other ADCs like JackeyLove and Loken, but I do like their matchup here versus Perkz/Mikyx, in addition to bin holding the advantage in top lane over Wunder. For G2, this game comes down to how much Jankos and Caps can take over; if Jankos is roaming the jungle and diving with Wunder in top lane, bin could be in for a long match, while Caps can single-handedly carry his team. Get exposure to both sides because this game has the most potential on the slate.

G2: Caps (MID), Jankos (JNG)

SN: Huanfeng (ADC), SwordArt (SUP)

LoL Matchup #3: DAMWON Gaming (-600) vs Rogue (+350)

My pick to potentially win it all at this year’s Worlds, DWG comes in as the biggest favorite on the slate as they face off versus Rogue on Day 2. To put it simply, DWG holds all five lane advantages here, especially down the mid lane with Showmaker vs Larssen. For those that do not know already, the LEC is a region that plays much slower than the LPL and even the LCK, so look for Rogue to play the long game here and stay alive as long as they can, and I expect that to be reflected in their draft as well. There’s no denying that DWG is the top stack for cash games on this LoL slate, but their prices worry me a tad in what should be an easy win – if they can force Rogue into multiple teams fights, the usual suspects in ShowMaker and Canyon should lead the way with their 71.4% and 67% kill participation rates (KPR), respectively.

The Pick: DWG (-600)

LoL Matchup #4: JD Gaming (-600) vs PSG Talon (+350)

Don’t be worried after JDG’s loss to DWG on opening day of the Group Stage – DWG is a force and should be considered one of the favorites to win Worlds. Today, JDG has a great bounce back spot versus one of the Cinderella stories of the Play-Ins in PSG and should stomp them with ease; while PSG does hold slight advantages in all three primary objectives being first rift herald percentage, and first dragon percentage, and first baron percentage, JDG has a better first turret percentage, gold advantage, and first blood. Look for them to bounce on PSG early and often.

The Pick: JDG (-600)

LoL Matchup #5: Team SoloMid (+225) vs GenG (-300)

Another team that I like to make a deep run at the 2020 Worlds, GenG gets another soft matchup here versus an NA team in TSM. Similarly to the LEC, the LCS is played at a much slower pace than the LCK and LPL, with the LCS being the punching bag of the LoL community within the top 4 regions. GenG has the clear advantage in bot lane with Ruler/Life and should ride that out to victory, and BDD is simply too cheap for one of the best mid laners in this tournament. However, TSM does not die a ton because of how slow they play, but given GenG’s price saving over DWG, they’re also in the cash conversation, but be wary of using them in 4-man stacks in tournaments.

The Pick: GenG (-300)

LoL Matchup #6: Fnatic (-150) vs LGD Gaming (+110)

Another underdog that I like here coming from the LPL, I thought this line would be closer to even money or have LGD as the slight favorites. For LGD to win, their bot lane will have to be dominant, and I think they’ll do just that – Mark is no star, but I’ll take him over Hylissang in any matchup, and xiye has the clear advantage over Nemesis in the mid lane. LGD has proven to have upside in bloody matchups, and with FNC struggling to come back in matches where they are behind outside of their region’s weaker opponents, LGD should continue to force team fighs en route to a potential 20+ kill game here. FNC likes to attack early on as seen by their advantage in first blood percentage and early game, but LGD excels in that aspect as well and neutralizes more objectives while doing so. Give me the ‘dog here.

The Pick: LGD Gaming (+110)

League of Legends (LoL) is back in full force with Worlds underway, and we have some great contests to go along with it. Beginning in the Play-In Stage, we have three matchups on tap for Day 2, with the PCS, LCL, LEC, TCL, LCS, and OPL all being represented on today’s slate. While the four major regions – the LPL, LCK, LCS, and LEC – will likely draw the majority of ownership throughout the tournament since it is familiar to the daily fantasy player, we did see PSG take down a -750 favorite in LGD; these matches are Best of 1, and anything can happen.

LoL Matchup #1: PSG Talon (-110) vs Unicorns of Love (-125)

The upsets didn’t take long to come to fruition when we saw PSG take down a heavy LPL favorite in LGD on the opening day of Worlds. Having picked up back to back wins to open their Worlds run, I expect PSG to be extremely popular tonight due to their combination of price and the field’s recency bias. However, UoL ran the table to a clean 14-0 sweep in the summer split and went 2-0 in playoffs en route to a championship in the LCL. Being a weaker region than the PCS, UoL’s run this split cannot be all there needs to be said about this matchup, as they are slightly overpriced for their ceilings here – PSG has the advantage in major statistical categories, and having shown out on Day 1 with 43 kills in two games, combined with facing tougher competition in the best of the “minor” regions, I’ll take the slight favorite here; with the exception of top laner Hanabi, PSG’s players were all over 72% kill participation (KP%), making them an attractive four-man stack.

LoL Matchup #2: MAD Lions (-275) vs Papara SuperMassive (+200)

After a loss filled with detrimental mental lapses, MAD Lions will look to rebound versus SM on Day 2, in what will be their opponent’s 2020 Worlds debut. Despite SM having the better first turret percentage, rift herald percentage, and a strong early game, I’m expecting MAD to have a big bounce back here; they grade out better in vision statistics, have the better first blood percentage, and come from a much stronger region. Having (hopefully) put their sloppy behind them on Day 1, MAD needs to make sure to avoid the same mistakes they made yesterday to TL, but I have faith that they’ll get the jump on SM. Being as cheap as they are in addition to being a live ‘dog in this one, I’ll take some shots on SM as well, but they’ll need MAD to make mistakes early and often to come out of this one, but this is LoL, and you never know what can happen, especially on a Worlds stage, and if they can take advantage of MAD in the early game, there may be another shocker on Day 2.

LoL Matchup #3: Legacy eSports (+333) vs Team Liquid (-500)

While the LCS is often the victim of being a punching bag in the LoL community, TL finished with a region best 15-3 record and managed to start off their Worlds run with a victory over MAD Lions yesterday. On the flipside, Legacy pulled off a light upset of their own, coming out victorious in their opening match versus INTZ. While I fully expect TL to come out with the win in this one behind their lane advantages and objective control, it lacks the appeal from a DFS perspective since TL plays really slow – I mean, really, really slow. While they did have 22 kills versus MAD yesterday, that was more of a shot against MAD’s frequency of mistakes rather than TL’s aggressivity. They’re fine in cash games being a heavy favorite and the likeliest of the bunch to secure a win, but in a Best of 1, we can’t afford to have teams winning matches with few kills for our GPP exposure, and I think this may be the case with TL here today.

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LPL/LCK PLAYOFFS PICKS 8/27

Today we will be looking at the LOL LPL/LCK slate 2020 Summer Split Playoffs on 8/27/2020 @ 5:30 am EST. Below I will provide my top three targets for cash games for the day, correlation plays, as well as projected lineups to make your building of a line a lot easier. Any questions about the article or tips feel free to hit me up on discord.

8/27 LOL LPL/LCK Slate Breakdown

JD GAMING (JDG)(+130) vs. TOP ESPORTS (TES)(-180).

Ladies and gentlemen we are here! Summer Splits Finals where Top Esports go up against the defending LPL Spring Split Champions JDG. This should be a very fun game to watch in my opinion as both of these teams are considered to be two of the best teams in the league and arguably the world. First things first, I will say that this game is nearly a coin flip match up. The statistical advantages go to TES but not by much if that makes a difference to you.

Both teams have very solid stats in the LPL, but I firmly believe JDG have the advantages in four of the five lanes in the map. Zoom, Kanavi, Loken, and possibly the best support in the league in LvMao over their TES counterparts. Knight will always be Knight and believe that’s where TES have an advantage there. But overall JDG is the better team in team fights and think this is where they will capitalize. Give me the JDG upset, and while I will hedge with some TES lineups, my exposure will be focused more around JDG winning.

There is no reason to not have exposure to this game at all, it should be one of the highest scorers if not the highest scorers in the slate.

 LOL LPL Favorite Plays:

JDG:

  • (TOP) Zoom
  • (JNG) Kanavi
  • (MID) Yagao
  • (ADC) Loken
  • (SUP) LvMao

TES:

  • (JNG) Karsa
  • (MID) Knight
  • (ADC) JackeyLove
  • (SUP) Yuyanjia

LOL LPL Pick to win: JDGaming [Will have some exposure to TES, but my exposure will be mostly centered around JDG upset here. You can always make a case for TES winning for sure and deserve the credit no doubt. I just think JDG takes it. ]

LGD GAMING (LGD)(EVEN) vs SUNING GAMING (SN)(-140).

We got a “gauntlet” match up in the regional finals in our hand where LGD goes up against Suning Gaming. I believe these two teams are rather identical when it comes to their statistical aspects. The winner of this match up will secure the 3rd seed of the split securing their spot for worlds. Leaving the loser of this match to battle it out against the winner of the IG vs FPX match up we will see soon for the 4th seed of the split and last spot for Worlds.

This will be the second time these two teams meet in a back to back series against each other. But anyone that knows a bit of league, knows that the first encounter of the two was meaningless. It was more of a match of “who can show the least” of their strategies to then take the second match up more seriously which would actually decide their fate.

Suning did sweep LGD in that first match up of the LOL LPL where the series actually got very bloody and LGD even lost their first game even after being ahead. This is different, I really think THIS game shows what both of these two teams have in stock and we should expect a more grind slower pace of game. I do not expect a lot of upside to come from this match but one thing to note will be that it will surely be lower owned compared to the other teams. I do not mind either of these teams to win, but I will actually side with LGD here myself. In my opinion LGD do have the better advantages as far as individual players.

 LOL LPL Favorite Plays:

LGD:

  • (JNG) Peanut
  • (MID) Xiye
  • (ADC) Kramer
  • (SUP) Mark

SN Gaming:

  • (TOP) Bin
  • (MID) Angel
  • (ADC) Huanfeng
  • (SUP) Swordart

LOL LPL Pick to win: LGD (Will have nearly split exposure to SN Gaming in large field tournaments to cover my bases but my main focus will go to LGD)

AFREECA FREECS (AF )(+600) vs GEN G ESPORTS (GEN)(-1400).

Gen G versus Afreeca Freecs in my opinion is going to be a very lopsided game as the odds suggest. I just don’t see a path where AF wins this match up against Gen G one of the best teams in LOL even if they just finished beating T1. In my honest opinion T1 lost that game on their own. I do not think T1 is playing to their potential when Faker is in, which says a lot on where their commitment to playing with each other stands.

Regardless I do not think AF have a solid chance here even with their last win, if anything they have the less chance to pull out with a win here. Gen G should roll comfortably through AF with high kill wins as Gen G averages a little above 18 kills per win. Gen G should be one of the chalkiest options on the slate, and if you are indeed MME lineups you can always give AF the benefit of the doubt. Other than mme, I have no interest here in AF.

 LOL LCK Favorite Plays:

Gen G:

  • (JNG) Clid
  • (MID) Bdd
  • (ADC) Ruler
  • (SUP) Life

LOL LCK Pick to win: GEN G ESPORTS

LOL DFS: Naldo’s Legendary LOL LEC Picks for 8/9

Today we will be looking at the LOL LEC slate 2020 Summer Split on 8/9/2020 @ 11:00 am EST. Below I will provide my top three targets for cash games for the day, correlation plays, as well as projected lineups to make your building of a line a lot easier. Any questions about the article or tips feel free to hit me up on discord.

8/9 LOL LEC Slate Breakdown

Team Vitality (VIT)(EVEN) vs. Misfits Gaming (MSF)(-135).

Team Vitality Misfits Gaming
CABOCHARDDAN DAN
SKEANZRAZORK
MILICAFEBIVEN
COMPKOBBE
LABROVDENYK

This is a very low motivation game since both of these games are currently out of playoff contention. As a result, I am expecting this game to get a little bloody. Both teams will try new team comp and mess around as they have nothing to play for. I am expecting Vitality to get the win here even though they have looked horrible lately. But Misfits isn’t really a team worth praising and might be disappointed about how their season has ended. Having barely to no motivation to even play the game tomorrow this game is bound to be deemed a coin flip.

 LEC Favorite Plays:

Misfits

  • (JNG) Razork
  • (MID) Febiven
  • (ADC) Kobbe

Vitality

  • (JNG) Skeanz
  • (Mid) Milica
  • (ADC) Comp

LOL LEC Pick to win: Vitality

Mad Lions (MAD)(-235) vs. Schalke S04 (S04)(+165).

Mad LionsSchalke S04
OROMEODDOAME
SHADOWGILIUS
HUMANOIDABBEDAGGE
CARZZYNEON
KAISERDREAMS

This game has Mad Lions who are in a very low motivation scenario, since they have the playoffs spot secured, while Schalke are with their backs against the wall in a must win situation. Surprisingly enough, Schalke have had an unbelievable run up to this point, but now face their toughest matchup since they began their run in the LEC in a do or die against Mad Lions.

Already occupying one of the top two spots, I think Mad Lions has nothing to lose/win here and will actually attempt new compositions against Schalke giving them every possible chance of actually being able to win. Mad Lions just got run over by Rogue making their series 1-1 for the split.  It’s hard to go against Mad Lion though, but at the same time it is hard to deny the incredible momentum that Schalke has going. Therefore, give me Schalke to win the game given that they got the most at risk in a huge upset.

 LEC Favorite Plays:

Schalke

  • (TOP) Oddoame
  • (JNG) Gilius
  • (MID) Abbedagge
  • (ADC) Neos
  • (SUP) Dreams

LEC Pick to win:  Schalke S04 (Will have some small ownership to Mad Lions just in case they are lower than normal. This game should get bloody regardless who comes out on top)

Rogue (ROG)(-240) vs. Origen (OG)(+185).

RogueOrigen
FINNALPHARI
INSPIREDXERXE
LARSSENNUKEDUCK
HANS SAMAUPSET
VANDERJACTROL

There is not much to see here, therefore I am expecting with very much confidence for Rogue to win this match very decisively making them the top cash team of the slate. Origen has been one of the worst teams this split furthermore I do not see that changing against Rogue who are hopeful for Mad to lose their next game against Schalke to avoid a tie breaker once they win this game. Origen has nothing to play for here, therefore we might see some weird champions being played, something that might not end too well for them. Aside from cash, I will not be looking at this team at all.

 LEC Favorite Plays:

Rogue

  • (JNG) Inspired
  • (MID) Larssen
  • (ADC) Hans Sama

LOL LEC Pick to win: Rogue (Believe this game will be low scoring, I am pushing more towards a fade of this game altogether)

Excel Esports (XL)(+245) vs G2 Esports (G2)(-345).

XL EsportsG2 Esports
KRYZEWUNDER
CAEDRELJANKOS
SPECIALCAPS
PATRIKPERKZ
TOREMICKYX

G2 is definitely back and ready for playoffs. All jokes aside G2 are the clear favorites to win this split even with Rogue and Mad Lions leading the charge as the two top teams in the LEC. G2 has no motivation here to win, but this is in my opinion when they look best. They use things they would never actually use making this a fun game to watch. XL are in a must win situation here but I just do not see G2 at their current level of play dropping this game against them. G2 excel (pun intended) XL in every category possible so this is a pretty easy choice to make. Give me all the G2 I can fit on a line, cash or gpp I will be having tons of exposure here.

 LEC Favorite Plays:

G2 Esports

  • (TOP) Wunder
  • (JNG) Jankos
  • (MID) Caps
  • (ADC) Perkz
  • (SUP) MickyX

LEC Pick to win:  G2 Esports

Fnatics (FNC)(-165) vs. SK Gaming (SK)(+120).

FnaticsSK Gaming
BWIPOJENAX
SELFMADETRICK
NEMESISZAZEE
REKKLESCROWNSHOT
HYLISSANGLIMIT

We have what could be the game of the week here with SK and Fnatics going head to head. While many may think that SK has nothing to play for, I beg to differ. Fnatics is still in the hunt to get into the playoffs in a must win game. SK’s main priority in my eyes is to beat Fnatics and prevent them from reaching the playoffs. This is do or die for Fnatics and if they lose they are done and it will open way for Schalke and XL to be tied forcing them to go on a head to head for a tie breaker on who goes to the playoffs.

Expectations for this LEC game are very high for me and I will most likely be having nice exposure to Fnatics here. They are the most expensive stack which will drive a lot of people away from using them. SK tends to get really active in the mid-late game so I can guess that there will be a lot of action around then. But more expecting Fnatics to actually get up on their face early to avoid that late Crownshot scaling. This can be a banger of a game that could go low owned.

 LEC Favorite Plays:

Fnatics

  • (TOP) Bwipo
  • (JNG) Selfmade
  • (ADC) Rekkles
  • (SUP) Hylissang

SK

  • (TOP) Jenax
  • (MID) Zazee
  • (ADC) Crownshot
  • (SUP) LIMIT

LEC Pick to win: Fnatics (Will have exposure to SK as well to cover my bases as this game could go either way)
