LoL DFS: MSC 5/28 Breakdown

Mid-Season Cup LoL DFS: MSC 5/28 Breakdown

What’s going everybody if you don’t know me you can call me Tai or my user (TPJSiX) I’m a new writer at Win Daily for the esports department specializing in LoL, the biggest DFS esport. I’ve won countless GPP’s in LoL being a 1-2 lineup type of person per night, I also play the game League of Legends itself and have a good understanding of how champions, matchups, and what teams are good at what, etc. I’m really excited for this tournament and can’t wait for the LCS/LPL/LCK season to return next month, and I’ll make sure I help you guys all win money as I think esports will grow even more next season.

LoL DFS: MSC 5/28

Format of the tournament:

  1. Ping is artificially standardized to ensure competitive integrity

Group Stage

  • Two groups with four teams each
  • Single round robin
  • All matches are best of one (Very important to take into account not Best of 3 like the regular season)
  • Top 2 from each group advance to the Knockout Stage

Knockout Stage

  • Single Elimination
  • All matches are best of five

The first game of each series is played in blind pick, while the remaining games are played in draft pick

GROUP A/B broken down:

T1 vs. FunPlus Phoenix – 3:00AM ET

DAMWON Gaming vs. Top Esports – 4:00AM ET

Betting Lines/Odds for the 5/28 Slate:

Match Overview:

T1 vs. FunPlus Phoenix – 3:00AM ET

Projected Starting Lineups:

T1: TOP – Canna | JNG – Cuzz | MID – Faker | ADC – Teddy | SUP – Effort

FPX: TOP – GimGoon | JNG – Tian | MID – Doinb | ADC – Lwx | SUP – Crisp

DoinB vs Faker in the mid-lane a very anticipated match up of two of the best teams in their respective region clash to get things started. T1 is a slight favorite here in the opening match-up for Group A. T1 came off winning the LCK spring playoffs and looked very strong in the second half of the split through excellent macroplay (playing around objectives over kills) reason why the kill total of this game is lower than the TES vs DWG which we will talk about later. The three players I want to highlight on the T1 side is Canna (Top) $6200, Cuzz (JG) $6600 who both look dominant in the spring playoffs. T1 is simply just the better team at the moment, but of course it’s a best of 1 so any of these two world class teams can win in a very snowball game meta. Touching on the FPX sides you get the usual DFS candidates targeting the bottom side of the map and ignoring FPX top lane in GimGoon just because he’s known to be a weak side top laner meaning less resource is given to him limiting his fantasy output. I am very heavy on the T1 side most likely targeting the two players I listed above and the team slot as I don’t see how this total goes above 23 kills. I’m projecting a 12-6 type of game played around objectives, and T1 starting off this tournament strong with a victory here.

DAMWON Gaming vs. Top Esports – 4:00AM ET

Projected Starting Lineups:

DWG: TOP – Nuguri | JNG – Canyon | MID – ShowMaker | ADC – Ghost| SUP – BeryL

TES: TOP – 369 | JNG – Karsa | MID – Knight | ADC – JackeyLove | SUP – QiuQiu

TES came in 2nd place and lost the LPL Spring Finals to JD Gaming which came down to the wire who I have coming top 2 in this tournament if not win it all, but they came into the playoffs blazing they looked very good. They added JackeyLove to their roster a few weeks before playoffs, and he has definitely taken them to the top with no pun intended. Top Esports now seems like a complete team after adding one of the best ADCs in the world, but I feel like I still lack support synergy as they had the support role rotate in and out. Overall the odds have this match like a blowout, but like I said in a best of 1 anything can happen, and unlike the T1 vs FPX game I with have shares to both teams in this game as I think DRX is the perfect leverage play in GPP and rostering them will allow you to get whoever you want at the Captain spot. All players are in play in this game, optimally this slate calls for a 4-3 stack and you’re going to want stack the bottom side of both teams (Mid, JG, ADC, Support) and avoid top lane as I think most of the kill shares in this game will not be going to the top laners. Since i’m on both teams I definitely think this game will have more kills than the T1 vs FPX game, but i’m not sure if it goes over the total of 25.5.

Players to Target: (Pricing based on DraftKings)

Red = 100% Exposure

T1:

Faker  (MID) $7400

Canna (Top) $6200

Cuzz (JG) $6600

FPX:

DoinB (MID) $7200

Tian (JG) $6400

Crisp (SUPP) $5400

LWX (ADC) $7400

TES:

Whole roster in play but prioritize:

JackyLove (ADC) $7800

Knight (MID) $7600

Karsa (JG) $6800

DWG:

Nuguri (Top) $5800

Canyon (JG)  $6000

ShowMaker (MID) $6800

Ghost (ADC) $7000

Roster Construction Tips:

4-3 Stack on a two game slate I would advise playing 1-2 lines or at least pick 1 team to go all in on and then hedge the other two just because you’re not going to come out profitable stacking every single team unless you take down a GPP just not a + EV move. I’m all in on T1 and hedging between DWG and TES.

My Core Four:

The strategy going into today’s League of Legends (LoL) slate is no different than any other 2-gamer: hedge both games and get every combination possible to ensure your chances at a takedown. If we’re comparing it to other LoL leagues that we are more familiar with, the BRCC is closer to the LPL in terms of gameplay style than the LCK; the highest number of kills in a game was 47, while the league as a whole averages 27 kills per game. The slate is unavailable on FanDuel, but it is on DraftKings, with the main tournament awarding $10K to first place. Spread over two days, this slate should be interesting and a ton of fun to play. Let’s dive in!

LoL Game 1: Falkol vs Santos eSports (-350)

If you’re picking one game to hedge because you’re running a limited number of lineups, this would be the one. Santos eSports comes in as the favorite having finished first in the BRCC with an 11-4 record. However, two of their four losses came against Falkol, losing the season series 2-1. In terms of kills, Falkol outscored Santos eSports 51-36 in three games, winning 28-6, 22-19, and losing 1-11. If stacking Falkol, I suggest prioritizing their ADC, Matsu ($7,200), their mid laner, Evrot ($7,000), and their top laner, Buggax ($5,800). I cannot emphasize enough to include Buggax in your Falkol stacks, whether they are a 3-man or 4-man stack, since he has the most kills in the entire BRCC this season; he averages 4.9 kills per game and provides excellent offensive power. If FKL wins, Buggax will be a big part of it. On the flipside, if stacking Santos, prioritize their mid laner, Rainbow ($7,600), their support, Hawk ($5,600), and their JNG, Hyoga ($6,800). Rainbow is arguably the MVP of the league based on statistics alone, averaging 4.33 kills per game, a mere 1.8 deaths per game, and has the most single-game MVPs on the season with 5. Hawk is another priority for me since he gets a surprisingly high number of kills for a support, averaging 1.4 per game to go along with 8.67 assists per game and an excellent kill participation percentage (KP%) – this is exactly what we need in DFS! Hyoga is another strong play as he finished second in the BRCC with 4 single-game MVPs, behind only Rainbow, who just happens to be his teammate, and averages 3.7 kills per game. Their ADC, Sarkis ($7,800) would be my fourth Santos eSports player in 4-man stacks, but I’m definitely not opposing to fading him in favor of playing their top laner, JackPoT ($6,400), instead.

LoL Game 2: Havan Liberty vs Team oNe (-163)

Another toss up on a 2-game slate, but what else didyou expect for LoL playoffs? This series should be a tight contest, but I’llgive the edge to Havan Liberty based on the regular season’s series split. HLbeat ONE all three times this season, dominating the kill count 43-15,including wins of 13-6, 14-4, and 16-5. Prioritize HL’s ADC, flare ($7,400),who carries the highest KDA in the entire BRCC at 7.9, averages 3.9 kills pergame, 5.6 assists, and a mere 1.2 deaths. Other players I’m considering aretheir JNG, Cariok ($6,400), who averages the third most kills in the BRCC with4.2 per game; HL’s support, esA ($5,200), who has the second highest KDA in theBRCC at 6.7, and their mid-laner, dyNquedo ($7,200).

LoL Slate Summary

We won’t be rethinking our LoL strategy on a slate that is comprised of an unfamiliar league: stick to 4/3 stacks, with MID or ADC captain, where your captain is a part of your 4-man stack that ideally does not include your team. On this 2-game LoL slate, we need to make sure we have exposure to every team, if possible. If you’re running a limited number of lineups, like I indicated above, I’d take my chances and cross off Team oNe out of my player pool. My favorite captains on the slate are Rainbow and flare, however Rainbow definitely makes for a compelling argument to be the top choice, being the best player in the BRCC. The reason why I like Rainbow the most is because it allows for me to avoid Sarkis in SOME of my SAN/HL stacks, who seems to farm more than he is involved in team fights given his low number of kills per game (2.8), but then again, the ADC position is typically one of the highest scoring in LoL DFS, so I’ll definitely have some ADC captain lines with SAN/HL and he’ll obviously be in them.

LoL ESports League of Legends Picks for Friday 5/1 all slate

I refer to DraftKings in this article.

Today we have a two game slate. You know the deal..Not a lot to break down but here is what I am doing.

There is not much variance on these small slates so you either see a big tie for first or someone with a one off player, or total game stack with a different TEAM, could win by themself.

If you want to play ADC at CPT (which is usually the best bet) there are only 100 possible teams you can make (if you are not playing opposing teams on the same lineup). I ran the projections. So if you go that route in the huge GPP’s your best shot is a tie at first (that is still profitable).

League of Legends Stacks in orderNoon

  1. BTXL 4/3 stack
  2. GO 4/3 stack
  3. GL 4/3 stack

If you remove YDN from your player pool there are literally only 20 teams you can make with ADC at CPT (without using opposing players). That is most likely what I will be playing.

I am only using ADC at CPT for each team. I am not going to force using another position and hope to get lucky. I will take the profit that is offered today.

League of Legends Stacks in order – 1:40

  1. K1CK
  2. MRS
  3. SO4E

ADC CPTs

League of Legends Stacks in order – 3:20

  1. MRS
  2. SO4E
  3. K1CK

ADC CPTs

LoL ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/29 4AM slate

I AM ONLY USING ADC at CPT unless I specify otherwise

4 AM Stacks in order

  1. SRB – They have the winning history against DYN this season (2-0)
  2. GRF – They played SB close this year but edged them out in total kills in six matches 68 to 59. Its only a two game slate so I will lean GRF.
  3. SB

Here are Javi’s notes:

SRB went 2-0 vs DYN this season. They won 2-1 and 2-0, the kill counts were 16-10, 11-3 and 20-6, 4-19, and 11-7

GRF and SB went 1-1, both matches went 2-1.  GRF had 68 total kills in 6 matches versus SB had 59 total kills in 6 matches.

6 lineups focusing on 4 SRB with 2 SB and 2 GRF. The other 2 will be DYN with 1 GRF and 1 SB then that’s it.

Avoid JAM for SB, avoid top for GRF. Not sure if we fade support for GRF yet, but probably will.

Total kills by player in the matchups this past season.

K-D-A

SRB:

Thal- 12-9-22
KaKao- 14-10-27
DanChung- 8-7-30
Sangyoon – 25-8-20
Nova – 3-12-38

DYN

Rich- 8-18-15
Beyond- 5-14-20
Kuzan-15-6-17
Feiz-14-10-19
Guger -3-14-30

5 AM Stacks in order

  1. JDG (-142) They have a very tough match against TES, but I think JDG the best team in the league so I have to side with them here
  2. IG (-117)

Afternoon Stacks in order

  1. VGIA Lock -550
  2. LDL +205
  3. RGO +117

If you are multi entering just lock in 4 VGIA players and stack with LDL or RGO.

If I decide to multi enter I will mix in all four teams but the ones above are the ones I would focus on if only playing one lineup.

LoL LPL/LCK ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/22 4AM slate

Today we have a small two game League of Legends slate. There isn’t much to break down but here ya go.. I would advice taking it easy on such a volatile slate.

League of Legends Stacks in order:

WE +227 – Their opponent (ES) has lost four of their last five games and are favored here.. I don’t really get why besides they have a more popular name in the LoL community. This is obviously an important game but will the real ES show up? What if the real ES is the team we have seen the past five matches.. ? I will take an underdog shot on WE.

League of Legends CPT: Jiumeng, Teacherama

T1 -225 They play DRX who is on a serious hot steak, but T1 basically wins ever matchup too. I think the talent of T1 gets the edge here.

League of Legends CPT: Teddy, Faker

If I decide to multi enter I will mix in all four teams but the ones above are the ones I would focus on if only playing one lineup.

LoL Matchup 1: Rogue Warriors (+125) vs. LGD Gaming (-175)

On tap in the first of three games on the last regular season LoL slate of the spring split, RW faces off against LGD. This game has no playoff implications but has plenty of fantasy appeal. RW ranks second last in the LPL in deaths per game at a rate of 16.57/game where only V5 averages more. However, their offensive play is also a main reason why, sitting 9th in the league with 13.65 kills per game; RW plays aggressively and sometimes it gets them into trouble. Coming in as the favorite, LGD’s defensive ability is no better than that of RW, as they also allow a high amount of deaths per game at a rate of 15.37/game with a worse offense, ranking 11th with 13.11 kills/game. My lean here is to hedge this game 50/50 with a slight advantage toward the RW side if you’re making fewer lineups. If RW manages to end the LPL LoL spring split with a win, it will likely be in 3 games and on the backs of Haro (JNG) and ZWuJi (ADC). Haro is 3rd in the entire LPL in kill participation rate (77.3%) with ZWuJi not that far behind (73.9%).

LoL Matchup 2: Team WE (+100) vs. OMG (-138)

The most important game on the LoL slate tonight, WE and OMG are facing off against each other with the winner claiming the final spot in the LPL playoffs. Coming off a strong 2-1 series win against EDG yesterday, I am again favoring the underdog in this matchup for a few reasons. First, OMG is second-last in kills per game with 10.54/game with only V5 averaging less. WE, a team that plays aggressively and looks to end games early with the sixth-highest number of kills per game with 13.97/game, will take advantage. Second, no matter what the sport may be, momentum matters. WE needed to win their last two series to get into the playoffs and with yesterday’s win, they’ll look to close it out tonight. OMG has not played in five days and have not won a series in the past 11 days, getting swept three times in a row by EDG, ES, and LGD respectively. When OMG wins, they offer little to no upside for DFS and I am FULL FADING the favorite in this one. My top targets on WE would be Jiumeng (ADC) and Missing (SUP) to get a full bottom lane stack. Teacherma (MID) and Beishang (JNG) are also worth considering when running a 4-man stack, with Morgan (TOP) being at the lowest on the priority list.

LoL Matchup 3: FunPlus Phoenix (-250) vs Top eSports (+175)

The last game of the LPL regular season and of this LoL slate, FPX comes in to face TES with the former looking to lock down second place with a series win of any kind, and the latter looking to jump into 4th place with a series sweep. This game will solely depend on two of the best mid laners in the entire LPL in Doinb (FPX) and Knight (TES), along with the battle of the ADCs in LWX (FPX) and phenom JackeyLove (TES). These two teams rank 3rd and 4th in the LPL in kills/game, but it is TES that dies 3 more times than FPX per game. With FPX playing more aggressively as of late, I side with the favorite in this one in what should be a great series. Doinb (MID) and LWX (ADC) are two elite targets on the entire slate, along with Crisp (SUP) for correlation with your ADC play and Tian (JNG) who should take advantage of Karsa all series long.

Favorite LoL DK Captains:

LWX (FPX) – ADC – $11,400

Doinb (FPX) – MID – $11,400

Jiumeng (WE) – ADC – $10,800

ZwuJi (RW) – ADC – $10,500

JackeyLove (TES) – ADC – $10,200

Favorite LoL FD Captains:

LWX (FPX) – ADC – $10,200

Jiumeng (WE) – ADC – $9,200

ZWuJi (RW) – ADC – $9,400

JackeyLove (TES) – ADC – $9,700

Key Notes

The only game I will not be hedging on this LoL slate is the second game: WE vs OMG. I am all in on WE, not only because I think they win outright, but because OMG has little to no DFS upside in LoL GPPs. In the first game, I will likely be split down the middle at 50% RW and 50% LGD but may make a line or two more with RW stacks should I have the wiggle room in my lineup construction. In the third game, I will have 75% FPX and 25% TES; with Yuyanjia (SUP) starting for TES, I expect LWX (ADC) and Crisp (SUP) to dominate the bottom lane and for Doinb (MID) to do his thing versus Knight. It will be a close series, but I side with FPX 2-1 here. Lastly, you’ll see that I have only ADC captains tonight, with the exception of Doinb on DK. On FD, 7 of the last 8 slates have had takedowns with an ADC at captain, with the exception being one Support captain takedown where 3 favorites won on the same night. With all ADCs being underpriced with the exception of LWX and JackeyLove, double ADC lines on FD should be no problem, whether you choose to pair one of the two with Kramer (LGD), ZwuJi (RW) or Jiumeng (WE). On DK, WE are too cheap not to take advantage. On DK, remember to stick to 4-3, 4-2-1, or 3-3-1 lineups, with 4-3 being my favorite. On FD, where they force you play a third team, 4-2-1 and 3-3-1 stacks are the only two options for me, with the former being my personal favorite.

LoL LPL/LCK ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/17 3AM slate

Today we have a small three game League of Legends slate. There isn’t much to break down but here ya go..

League of Legends Stacks in order:

JDG -373 High confidence they win, and they are not the most expensive players. Love it.

League of Legends CPT: Loken or Kanavi

WE -341 They should win this BUT they are very hard to stack with any other team I like therefor I might not have a lot of them. If you can find a way to get three or four of them in a lineup you should be in good shape, just don’t sacrifice half of your lineup to get them if you don’t like the builds you are coming up with.

League of Legends CPT: Jiumeng, Teacherama

IG/EDG I am splitting up ownership on these teams. I think IG wins, but it is close. If I had to pick an upset on this slate it would be EDG.

League of Legends CPT: Puff, Rookie, Scout

LoL LPL/LCK ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/15 2AM slate

Esports League of Legends Stacks in order:

Invictus Gaming -330

IG and WE both play at a high pace and IG is a -330 favorite. They have only lost two matches (not games) in their last five games. They should win here and I will be heavily invested in them.

League of Legends CPT: Puff

GEN G -193

This is the closet spread on the board against KT (who I also respect). I am leaning towards an underpriced, better team, in what I expect to be an under-owned game because of the close spread.

League of Legends CPT: Ruler

DAMWON Gaming -263

Sandbox Gaming is a bad team, and DWG is a good one who has won five of their last six. I am very confident that DWG walks away with the victory here and they are cheap enough to stack a lot of different ways. They will be popular but for good reason.

League of Legends CPT: Ghost

Dominus Esports +315

I (and Javi) are calling for the upset against RNG. DMO is too cheap for the upside they posses against a team that I do not have a lot of confidence in. If I had one team, I would not include DMO, but if I had three teams I would get a share.

League of Legends CPT: Gala

EU Masters ESports League of Legends Picks for Thursday 4/9

The 2am slate will be updated throughout the day. Continue to check back.

Today I will be focusing on the upcoming League of Legends (LOL) EU Masters slate that we have ahead of us and will break it down as simply as possible for everyone to understand. I will be breaking down the ESports League of Legends DFS slate on DraftKings. We have a four gamer going on for this upcoming slate. This is a brand new league that got postponed because of the pandemic. All of these teams have played each other once already.

This is how I am playing to noon slate.

I am locking in the huge favorite TEAM GamerLegion (GL) -938

I am going to do three (4/3) stacks with the underdog teams (K1CK, S1, RCN). These spreads are so close they might as well be a pickem, however because these teams are underdogs I expect them to be lower owned. We get upsets every slate in LoL and today we are at east getting one, if not more.

CPTs: I am going all ADC Hjarnan, Puki Style, Practice, Rharesh

I am doing 4 man stack of GL with 3 man stack of S1 and RCN (there are only 20 possible teams that could be made out of these three captains and three teams)

I a doing a 3 man stack of GL with a 4 man stack of K1CK (with the two CPTs mentioned above.

ESports League of Legends 2pm Slate (Will be updated later today)

Stacks in order of preference.

TES: Yes, I like them more than FPX today. BLG is bad (I don’t care what Javi says). The spread is -355 which is just a touch lower than FPX (-437). I actually think FPX gets tested, and possibly upset today #BoldCall. I am only considering ADC and MID for CPT. Photic, Knight. You want at least three in a stack

DMO: They take on V5 who is absolutely terrible. Go back and look at mediocre teams that play them. They all absolutley dominate and basically get season high scores. It’s DMO’s turn. CPT: Gala, Xiaowei

FPX: Largest favorite on the board. Probably wins. CPT LWX Doinb

T1/KT this is your hedge game. I think T1 wins this one, but KT could easily win. It is the closest spread on the board. If I was multi entering I would make six teams. Use three stacks of T1 an the three teams listed above and KT with the same three teams. You will lose half, but are guaranteed to win half as well, and hopefully you get the upside team.

CPT: Gala, Aiming, Faker, Kuro

EU Masters ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/7

The 4pm and 2am slate will be updated throughout the day.

FK1CK (K1CK) (Cash/GPP): Their opponent PIG has not won a match in the early start of the EU Masters league. They have lost to K1CK already 18-6 in kills and by almost 20K in gold. When a team is so dominate against their opponent it seems like a safe bet they can escape with another W here.

Projected Starters TOP (iBoy), JNG (Shlatan), MID (Matislaw), ADC (Puki Style), SUP (Raxxo)

CPTS I would use are Puki Style and Matislaw. MID and ADC are usually in the best spot to score the most points and the salaries are not drastic enough for me to stray away from that.

MAD (Cash/GPP) MAD is 1-0 vs their opponent DefuseKids so far. MAD is 2-0 in the division while DK is only 1-1. The difference in kills leans toward MAD 17-11 when they have played. MAD is my second favorite stack behind K1CK

Projected Starters: TOP (Werlyb) JNG (Kolodo), MID (Hatrixx) ADC (Flakked) SUP (Prime)

I am only looking at MID and ADC as Cpts.

Intrepid Fox Gaming (IF) GPP They get to face against an 0-3 opponent in against IFG. With this league being so young there is not much to go off of besides records and the few games they have played.

Projected Starters: TOP (Delitto), JNG (Appen), MID (Punisher) ADC (Gagai), SUP (Forsaken)

I am only looking at MID and ADC as Cpts.

Gamer Legion (GL) GPP They too get an 0-3 opponent in the Vipers. GL is one of the teams who has beat the Vipers already.

Projected Starters: TOP (Phones), JNG (Rabble), MID (Nite), ADC (Hjaman), SUP (Wisdom)

I am only looking at MID and ADC as Cpts.

All teams are listed in order of preference.

4pm LoL LCS Slate

We have a two gamer. Manage your expectations here. There are only so many combos and winning a GPP by yourself is unlikely (you could still tie though). Below are all four teams playing today listed in order of my preference.

  1. Flyquest -210 (was -195)
  2. 100 Thieves +125
  3. Team SoloMid -170
  4. Golden Guardians +155

CPTS I am considering: Power of Evil, Santorin, Metoes, Ryoma

Remember, you want to stack teams. I prefer a 4-3 stack, especially on small slates like this.

It is a good idea to hedge your bets this slate. If you have two FlyQuest lineups throw in a GG lineup for good measure. Same goes for the 100 Theves/SoloMid game. We have no heavy favorites here so anyone could win to be honest.

2am Slate

Stack 1: Gen G. (GG) -884

GG is a huge favorite at -884 yet they are not the most expense players across the board. They are not hard to fit and should be the building block of your lineups (especially cash). I have completely removed their opponent (APK) from my player pool.

CPT: Ruler, BDD (stack 3 minimum players from this team)

Stack 2: Dawon Gaming (DWG) -435

They are another large favorite going against a team (GRF) that hasn’t won a match in their last 8 eight games. GRF is another team I am completely removing from my pool.

CPT: Ghost, Showmaker

Stack 3 Top Esports (TES) -294

I like TES as a squad a lot, however I don’t think they are guaranteed to win. If you go heavy on TES I would have a WE hedge stack.

CPT: Photic, Knight

Stack 4 Vici Gaming (VG) -270

Vici was hot right before their last match and have not got shut out for a month. If they are to lose, they should at least get 3 matches out of it (which helps boost score), however I think they bounce back after their recent loss and get a relatively easy W here. They have not last back to back matches sense 3/18.

CPT: iBOy, Forge

If you are doing MME there are only 28 total teams available if you stack the four above teams 4/3 or 3/4 and eight CPTS. I will have all of them.

I will update if I find a nice underdog after we record and release the podcast in a couple hours.
