In this column, I’ll highlight five NBA DFS 2/26 difference-makingplays in GPPs, from studs with a huge upside to value plays who could hit8x-10x.

NBA DFS 2/26 — PG

De’Anthony Melton, MEM (@ HOU) – DK $4,000

The main draw toward Melton in this matchup is necessity – both for the Grizzlies and our salary purposes in DFS. Somebody has to defend these Rockets guards, and Melton – standing just 6-3 but sporting a wingspan over 6-8 – is a well-known defensive commodity who sometimes plays big minutes for the Grizzlies when needed. The entire Grizzlies rotation is depleted, so we can look for a full game stack in this one, with two or three players from each side. If you’re more interested in other games on this slate, then Spencer Dinwiddie (PG/SG/G/UTIL) is a viable spend-up option in a favorable matchup at Washington.

Pivot/Stack: Spencer Dinwiddie/Russell Westbrook

NBA DFS 2/26 — SG

James Harden, HOU (vs. MEM) – DK $11,300

Harden’s shot has been heating up, and he’s got a legitimate 80-point upside tonight. If you’re unsure about Westbrook’s sore thumb, then he’s an even safer play. On a night with five (5!) NBA games featuring Vegas totals of 229 and up, the Houston-Memphis game comes in at the highest: 237.5. There is some blowout concern, but we could see massive raw scoring and value in this game if we’re fearless. Non-believers can pivot to Jimmy Butler (make sure he’s playing) in a revenge game vs. the T-Wolves, or play one of the much cheaper but still high-priced, high-upside SG available, including Devin Booker (the Suns have already ruled out Kelly Oubre, which helps his usage rate) or Bradley Beal in a plus matchup vs. the Nets.

Pivots: Bradley Beal/Devin Booker

NBA DFS 2/26 — SF

Robert Covington, HOU (vs. MEM) – DK $6,200

The price on Covington keepsincreasing, but I just love what he brings to this Houston team on both ends ofthe floor, and he’ll be active tonight in what should be the highest-paced gameof the slate. We can find some value to stack on the Memphis side with either theversatile but frustrating Dillon Brooks (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) as a large-field GPPrisk-reward play or Josh Jackson (SF/PF/F/UTIL), forced into bigger minuteswith the injuries to Brandon Clarke and Jaren Jackson, Jr. The chalkier pivotwill probably be Tobias Harris, especially on FanDuel where he’s just $6,600,or Gordon Hayward against his old team the Jazz – if you’re into the revenge narrative.

Pivots/Value:Tobias Harris or Gordon Hayward/Dillon Brooks or Josh Jackson

NBA DFS 2/26 — PF

Aaron Gordon, ORL (@ ATL) – DK $7,800

Gordon makes for an interesting GPP play tonight because of his high price (up to $1,800 from just $5,900 on DK at the start of February) and 60-point upside in this matchup. The Hawks have a very difficult time containing versatile forwards like Gordon, so we could see a ceiling game from him tonight. He’s far from a sure thing to hit even 6x, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take given his recent floor. We can stack up bargain option DeAndre Hunter, who’s been playing through an ankle injury but keeps cranking out 30-point DK performances or spend up to Julius Randle in a plus matchup against the woeful Hornets.

Pivots: Julius Randle/DeAndreHunter

NBA DFS 2/26 — C

Jakob Poeltl, SA (vs. DAL) – DK $3,200

With LaMarcus Aldridge out for tonight, I’ll likely alternatemy Poeltl ownership with San Antonio PF Trey Lyles under the assumption that onlyone of the two will go off. Poeltl and Lyles both have 10x upside tonight, so I’llhave shares of both in GPPs. I originally was going to recommend JonasValanciunas here, but it’s entirely possible that he doesn’t see that much timeon the floor with the Rockets running a slew of shorter, faster forwards outthere instead of an actual five-man. JV is worth a shot in low-stakes multi-entry,but I’m wary of Gorgui Dieng getting big minutes as he’s more of a viable PF/Cthan a classic big. If you fade Julius Randle, then Mitchell Robinson is a worthwhileoption, but playing both rarely seems to work out, even against a team that’s asterrible at defending bigs as the Hornets.

Pivots: Mitchell Robinson/JonasValanciunas or Gorgui Dieng

NBA DFS 2/22 — PG

Luka Doncic, DAL (@ ATL) – DK $10,200

I don’t know why Luka’s price has actually dropped a few hundred bucks on DK, but we’ll welcome that. Both James Harden (@UTA) and Trae Young (on the other side of this matchup and stackable) are more expensive today and have lower floors and ceilings tonight. Doncic fills up the stat sheet and also has a better shot at triple-double bonus than the aforementioned NBA DFS ballers. If you’re drawn to Russell Westbrook as a pivot I wouldn’t mind much – he’s got a very winnable matchup with Utah, and is stackable with Mike Conley, who should be a full go for the second half of a back-to-back where he rested yesterday. But Luka remains the best player over $10K on this six-game slate.

UPDATE: Luka is out, so plug in Trae Young.

With Luka and Porzingis out, there’s a whole lot of value opening up for the Mavs (and Hawks, in that Trae’s upside is now a tad higher). DFS, Maxi Kleber and Tim Hardaway are all solid plays, as is probable starting PG Jalen Brunson who’s just $5K on DK. And with Jimmy Butler (personal) out, one of Goran Dragic or Kendrick Nunn should have a big game.

Pivot/Stack: Russell Westbrook/Jalen Brunson

NBA DFS 2/22 — SG

Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN (@ CHA) – DK $7,700

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a ceiling game from Dinwiddie, who’s assumed full control as the main scoring guard in the absence of Kyrie Irving. He’s added some salary in the past few days but remains a solid GPP play in an exploitable matchup. If he can get some shots to drop, there’s no reason he can’t go for 55-60 DK points tonight. I like Terry Rozier’s diminished price on the other side of this game (he’s eligible at PG/SG/G and UTIL), and Jimmy Butler appears to be the most viable pivot, as he’ll be looking to lead the Heat to victory following a loss to Atlanta on Thursday. If you don’t have the money for Butler, Jordan Clarkson is a solid value in an up-tempo game against the Rockets where he could be asked to play bigger minutes. UPDATE: With Jimmy Butler out, Zach Lavine ($8,900) is starting to look more and more like a solid play at SG if you want to pivot from Dinwiddie.

Pivot/Value/Stack: Jimmy ButlerZach Lavine/Jordan Clarkson/Terry Rozier

NBA DFS 2/22 — SF

Dorian Finney-Smith, DAL (@ ATL) – DK $4,600

We saw Kristaps Porzingis and Luka go nuts last night, and that’s certainly a team stack that appears to have a better correlation than some other stud combos we’ve seen (LBJ-AD/Harden-Westbrook come to mind as not quite as appealing in DFS). We could see the Mavs give Kristaps a bit of a break tonight and allow Finney-Smith, (whose initials – DFS – are perfect for our purposes here) to flourish against a fast-paced Hawks team that turns the ball over quite a bit. The price on DFS is very affordable (just $4K on FD and a lock there considering what he could do defensively) and there’s 8x upside in this matchup. Possible pivot Kevin Porter Jr. might garner lower ownership after his ejection last night, and I don’t mind Kevin Huerter as a game stack option on the other end. UPDATE: DFS and Hardaway are even better plays with both Luka and Kristaps out. Duncan Robinson get s abump for the Heat with Butler out.

Pivots: Kevin Porter Jr./Kevin Huerter

NBA DFS 2/22 — PF

Jae Crowder, MIA (vs. CLE) – DK $4,800

If there’s a way to fit Giannis and key elements of the DAL-ATL game in your lineups tonight, great – but I’ll be looking for some value at PF, and Crowder makes sense in the $4-5K range. He got off to an impossibly slow start on Thursday night and finished with just 25.5 DK points in 23 minutes, but if he sees 30+ minutes against the Cavs there’s no reason he can’t go for 7X or more. For a few more DK dollars you can spring for Thaddeus Young on a Bulls team that’s short a few big bodies, and Robert Covington is also still affordable in that same price range. UPDATE: Add Kleber to the mix at PF. Crowder could also see more usage with Butler out.

Pivots: Thaddeus Young/Robert Covington

NBA DFS 2/22 — C

Jarrett Allen, BKN (@ CHA) – DK $4,300

Allen got almost no run on Thursday night (zero real-life points and 1.5 DK points in 13 minutes) and the Nets opted to pit veteran center DeAndre Jordan against Joel Embiid (the new Eurostep king). But the price on Allen is now a measly $4,300 and should see 20+ minutes against the Hornets, who will feature Cody Zeller and P.J. Washington (both $4,700 and PF/C eligible on DK). If we hear anything about Allen getting dropped from the rotation before lock we should stay away, but I have no qualms about taking advantage of the affordable price on Allen and taking a fearless foray into the land of the weak Charlotte bigs tonight. If I had the money I would go right back to the well on Bam Adebayo, but I won’t have much left after rostering Luka and some of the other guards in most of my GPP builds. UPDATE: For the minimum price on DK at just $3K, Boban Marjanovic could go nuts in a starting role, and log 15-20 minutes even without the nod. The Mavs are woefully low on bigs, especially if Willie Cauley-Stein remains out.

Pivot/Stack/Punt: Bam Adebayo/Cody Zeller or P.J. Washington/Boban Marjanovic

In this column, I’ll highlight five NBA DFS 2/21 difference-makingplays in GPPs, from studs with a huge upside to value plays who could hit8x-10x.

These are risky plays who won’t always make the most sense forcash game builds, so buyer beware!

NBA DFS 2/21 — PG

Luka Doncic, DAL (@ ORL) – DK $10,600

We saw Bam drop 70 fantasy points last night, and while the paceof that game helped dictate a new ceiling for the Heat’s big man, a now-healthyDoncic could arrive at 70 DK points tonight without the benefit of a decentmatchup. With Damon Lillard sitting out tonight, it’s probably a slate whereyou should pay up for Luka or LeBron James, and my money’s on the guy with 7xupside. Nobody on the Magic can stop Luka from doing his thing. I don’t seemuch of a point to stacking up Markelle Fultz, who’s now $6,200 and could getsaddled with the return of D.J. Augustin (questionable), but if you choose to fadeLuka and go with LeBron at SF (and don’t want to spend way up at the PG spot),both Jamal Murray ($7,100) and Jrue Holiday ($7,300) could have big games aswell.

Pivots: Jamal Murray/JrueHoliday

NBA DFS 2/21 — SG

Jaylen Brown, BOS (@ MIN) – DK $5,900

The Wolves could be in trouble tonight, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns out, no more Robert Covington defense to stop opposing swingmen/forwards, and a cast of fringe NBA talents rounding out their bizarre rotation. If they can keep in close, we could see monster value from Brown, who should be recovered from his ankle issues following the break. Kemba Walker is out, so there will be more shots to go around, and the price on Jaylen is just too good to pass up tonight. In fact, he’s the same exact price as Marcus Smart, who doesn’t have the same scoring upside. I won’t chastise you for going to C.J. McCollum (PG/SG/G/UTIL), and there’s plenty of positional eligibility to roster both on DK. Stacking DeAngelo Russell could be a move if the Wolves can keep this close, but he is kind of expensive for such a tough matchup.

Pivot/Stack: C.J. McCollum/DeAngeloRussell

NBA DFS 2/21 — SF

Gordon Hayward, BOS (@ MIN) – DK $7,000

Jayson Tatum is going to be very popular at just $7,800 on DK, so Hayward could go overlooked in a matchup where he’ll be handling the ball just as much (if not more) than the former Dukie. Hayward could see 20+ points, double-digit rebounds, a handful of assists (or more) and plenty of supplemental stats to fill out his fantasy output. The matchup is excellent, and we’ll need some $6-8K players with a 7x upside if we’re going to make this work. We should probably stay away from stacking more Wolves in the 1-2-3 spots (preferring exposure to James Johnson or Naz Reid), but if you want to pivot from Hayward, the obvious choice is Tatum or the upside-laden Brandon Ingram.

Pivots: Jayson Tatum/Brandon Ingram

NBA DFS 2/21 — PF

James Johnson, MIN (vs. BOS) – DK $4,600

Johnson has a 40-point upside if he sees 30 minutes, and we must find some value somewhere on this slate. This is another situation we’ll have to monitor before lock to see who’s starting for the Wolves, but Mr. OG Throat Tattoo will be the likely veteran to log bigger minutes and try to replace what KAT offers from a scoring and defensive perspective. Spend-up pivots include Zion Williamson (who we also haven’t seen hit his ceiling yet despite a 50 DK point outing against these same Blazers before the break) and Anthony Davis (PF/C/F/UTIL), who should be fresh and ready to put up big numbers in a pace-up spot against Memphis. Both will find a way onto my multi-entry builds this evening.

Spend Pivots: Zion Williamson/Anthony Davis

NBA DFS 2/21 — C

Hassan Whiteside, POR (vs. NO) – DK $9,200

Whiteside probably watched Bam Adebayo his former teammate go OFF during the All-Star break and last night and got a little steamed, especially since Bam has low-key criticized his lack of nuance and pick-and-roll by liking and emoji-dropping on a tweet from October. But Whiteside is a consistent double-double machine and solid shot-blocker who should log big minutes tonight in a game that cries for usage from the Lillard-less Blazers. Whether or not playing both Zion and Whiteside in the same lineups is one of the questions we’ll have to ask ourselves as we get closer to lock. The obvious pivot at this price point is Andre Drummond, but if you need more value, we can look to Serge Ibaka (solid floor, decent upside as a starter without Marc Gasol and facing the defensively challenged DeAndre Ayton) at just $6,500.

Pivot/Value: Andre Drummond/Serge Ibaka

In this column, I’ll highlight five NBA DFS 2/13 difference-makingplays in GPPs, from studs with a huge upside to value plays who could hit8x-10x.

These are risky plays who won’t always make the most sense forcash game builds, so buyer beware! There are just two NBA games tonight, whichmeans we could focus on some of these plays for showdowns or for the main slateon DK. It’s not a night to heavily invest, because the big bankrolls will haveall the angles covered – so I recommend single-entry tournaments and low-stakes20-max games.

NBA DFS 2/13 — PG

Chris Paul, OKC (@ NO) – DK $7,100

Paul has been playing well lately, and he’s been doing a lot of scoringfor the Thunder. He’ll be a chalk play tonight at PG, but we can differentiateelsewhere. We’ll have to keep an eye out for Boston backcourt injuries tonightto find some value, but Marcus Smart sticks out as a solid play against theClippers, and Lonzo Ball is fine to stack in a game with  225 total.

Pivot/Stack: Marcus Smart/Lonzo Ball

NBA DFS 2/13 — SG

J.J. Redick, NO (vs. OKC) – DK $4,400

He’s a great shooter with a quick release and he’s all over the floor. He’s probably been getting a little more than his normal run/usage with Brandon Ingram out, but I always like playing Redick in GPPs when he’s this cheap – there’s just a lot of stuff he can do. If you’re spending up and Ingram remains out, Jrue Holiday is a solid stud to roster, and Dennis Schroeder coming off the bench for OKC can score 25-30 real-life points in about that many minutes.

Pivot/Stack: Jrue Holiday/Dennis Schroeder

NBA DFS 2/13 — SF

Paul George, LAC (@ BOS) – DK $7,900

The price is under $8K and he saw 35 minutes in the last game. It’s a tough matchup on paper. Ingram is a fine play if he’s cleared for action, and while Jayson Tatum really struggled with his shot last game (5-for-15 from the field, 0-7 from 3PT range), he could be in for some high usage if Jaylen Brown (probable, ankle) sits or is limited because of his injury. George hasn’t posted any huge scoring game lately, but he’s been rebounding more and I think he’s in a decent spot unless he draws Marcus Smart defense. I’ll be using plenty of Kawhi Leonard as well, but he’s an obvious play here and we could differentiate ourselves if we fade him a few entries for low-stakes, multi-entry GPPs.

Pivots: Kawhi Leonard or Brandon Ingram/Jayson Tatum

NBA DFS 2/13 — PF

Zion Williamson, NO (vs. OKC) – DK $7,800

Zion had a breakthrough game, eclipsing 50 DK points for the first time on Tuesday night. If Ingram sits again, he’s worth another look. Combo guards and versatile bigs fare best against the Thunder, so this husky fellow is in a smash spot vs. the wispy PFs from OKC. Is there a chance they use Nerlens Noel at the 4 to try and stop Zion? It’s possible. If so, maybe we can spend down to Marcus Morris, who’s seeing plenty of run for the Clippers. Danilo Gallinari is still way too cheap and works for OKC-NO game stacks, especially considering how bad the Pels have defended versatile forwards like “Il Gallo.”

Value Pivot/Stack: Marcus Morris/Danilo Gallinari

NBA DFS 2/13 — C

Steven Adams, OKC (@ NO) – DK $5,300

Adams provides a 45-point DK upside at a reasonable price, and the matchup isn’t a bad one. Center is remarkably weak in this slate, with Zion being the only C-eligible player that’s more expensive than Adams. Don’t overthink this one. Plugin Adams at C and find some of the quirky plays in other spots. Both Montrez Harrell (limited minutes and upside lately) and Derrick Favors (same) make some sense as well – they just don’t have GPP-winning upside tonight like the guards and forwards do.

Pivot/Stack: Montrez Harrell/Derrick Favors

NBA DFS 2/12 — PG

Damian Lillard, POR (@ MEM) – DK $10,200

Lillard saw just 29 minutes of action last night, about 10 minutes fewer than his usual 38-40 – the result of a Pelicans blowout win that the Blazers gave up on pretty early in the fourth quarter. Tonight, they face the Grizzlies, who are three games ahead of them in 8th place, and I doubt he goes less than 35 if the Blazers are trying to win this game — which they should be. It’s a Memphis team that yields its most points to combo and scoring guards/wings, so we can look at Lillard in a huge bounce-back spot for GPPs. Stacking him up with Ja Morant is totally viable, as this could turn into a real battle. Trae Young facing the lowly Cavs makes for a good pivot.

Pivot/Stack: Trae Young/Ja Morant

NBA DFS 2/12 — SG

Malik Monk, CHA (@ MIN) – DK $4,700

I’d like to roster a stud at every position, but we’re going to need some value if we’re going to fit in all these upside-laden plays – and Malik Monk (a bench player who routinely sees anywhere between 25 and 35 minutes of court time) makes for a solid GPP gamble at SG. He’s got a 10x ceiling when he’s at the high end of those minutes. If you’re hell-bent on more upside you can spend up to Spencer Dinwiddie or a recently cool Devin Booker, and/or stack with another value play in the same game by selecting another Malik: Malik Beasley – who’s getting plenty of run as a starter with the T-Wolves.

Pivot/Stack: Spencer Dinwiddie/MalikBeasley

NBA DFS 2/12 — SF

Terrence Ross, ORL (vs. DET) – DK $5,100

I’m probably steering clear of the Lakers-Nuggets game tonight, and while LeBron is the obvious spend, exploring value at SF leads me directly to Ross. He plays around 30 minutes every game, has 8x upside and gets a pace-up spot versus a Detroit team that’s lost three straight. If you’d rather play SF Khris Middleton (minus Giannis but at an elevated price of $8,800), that’s well within your rights, but I expect the Pacers will do what they can to stop him tonight and make Brook Lopez and the guards beat them. Aaron Gordon makes sense on DK because he’s also SF-eligible, but his price is up $500 from his 45 DK point effort against the Hawks. I love Knicks SF Reggie Bullock ($4,200) as a value pivot as well, and if you really want to get sneaky, Bucks SG/SF Pat Connaughton ($3,800) saw 26 minutes last game and put up 21.25 DK points.

Pivot/Punt: Reggie Bullock/Pat Connaughton

NBA DFS 2/12 — PF

David Bertans, WAS (@ NY) – DK $5,800

The Wizards said they’d be keeping an eye on the minutes of Moritz Wagner and Rui Hachimura, but the rookie PF/C ended up seeing 32 minutes and posted some of his best all-around numbers as a pro from both ends of the floor. We could see his minutes dip in the second half of a back-to-back, which opens up more opportunities for Bertans, who has plenty of scoring upside on DK and can get hot from three-point range. The Knicks have trouble with versatile forwards like Bertans, as their best players are guards and bigs. We can pair him with Julius Randle and plenty of other players from both sides in game stacks, or pivot to SAC PF Nemanja Bjelica, who’s been logging big minutes in the Kings depleted frontcourt. GPP darling Jaren Jackson Jr. (JJJ) caught my eye as well, but he’s $6,400 and frequently deals with foul trouble. We can go there in POR-MEM game stacks, though.

Value Pivot/Stack: Nemanja Bjelica or JJJ/JuliusRandle

NBA DFS 2/12 — C

Karl-Anthony Towns, MIN (vs. CHA) – DK $10,500

If we spent all our money on the guards, we’ll need to roster a punt play like John Henson or a value guy like Dwayne Dedmon – who’s going to fare well back in Atlanta given their need for bigs and his promising (second?) debut for the Hawks (31.75 DK points in 28 minutes). KAT offers 7x and 25-15 upside in this matchup, so we’ll need to mix a few lineups in focusing on the big man in Minnesota. Nikola Jokic is a classic GPP play in a tough matchup but the Lakers will be hell-bent on stopping him with their defensive-minded frontcourt. There’s fearless, and there’s silly. I’d rather tackle the chance that Andre Drummond sees north of 30 minutes, which is all he needs to notch a 20-20 game.

Pivot/Value: Andre Drummond/DwayneDedmon

NBA DFS 2/8 — PG

P.J. Dozier, DEN (@ PHO) – DK $3,500

The Nuggets might be running a seven-man rotation tonight inPhoenix, and I love the point guards in this matchup. If we get word that Dozierwill see an expanded role, he could make for a fine value play. Even Jamal Murrayis an affordable $6,100, and you can easily stack up the two most active guardswith Murray and Devin Booker. If you’re stacking other games and need a valuepiece, Dozier could be your guy – and we’ll need somebody cheap to fit in allthe high-priced plays we need to prioritize tonight.

Pivot/Stack: Jamal Murray/Devin Booker

NBA DFS 2/8 — SG

Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN (@ TOR) – DK $7,800

With KyrieIrving out, we’re going to see increased usage from Dinwiddie, Caris Levert andothers for the Brooklyn Nets. I’m team Dinwiddie for this matchup against theRaptors, especially if Kyle Lowry sits this one out. I could see a Dinwiddie/FredVan Vleet stack working well, but if you’re not into those guys and would ratherlock in a sure-fire 40 DK points, then DeMar DeRozan is a good selection.

Pivot/Stack: DeMar DeRozan/Fred VanVleet

NBA DFS 2/8 — SF

LeBron James, LAL (@ GSW) – DK $10,900

I could see LeBron gong fora monster game against the Warriors tonight, who recently acquired Andrew Wigginsin exchange for DeAngelo Russell. Wiggins is still questionable because heneeds to pass a physical, so we could stack him up with the overachieving EricPaschall, who could get even more minutes if Draymond Green sits. It would begreat if Golden State could keep this within reach so the starters play thefourth quarter, but with most of the production going through LBJ, it might notmatter. If you’re fading this game, I’m still intrigued by Paul George’s priceand upside.

Pivot/Stack: Paul George/Eric Paschall

NBA DFS 2/8 — PF

Kristaps Porzingis, DAL (@ CHA) – DK $8,700

The price on Porzingis is still affordable on DK (he’s an oppressive $9,600 on FD), and he’s coming off a game where he had a reduced role because of the broken nose (no mask!) and he could see lower ownership because of the recency bias. Don’t all for it, fearless DFSers! Porzingis has 60+ DK upside tonight and should be a dominant force on the boards, in the blocks and on the scoreboard. Christian Wood is now $6,700, but he still has plenty of value in a plus matchup vs. the Knicks, while DAL-CHA game stack option P.J. Washington could see an expanded role (30+ minutes) after a few days rest following 24 minutes vs. the Rockets on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Porzingis is out, so there’s a lot of value in the Dallas starting five, especially Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith, Tim Hardaway and Maxi Kleber.

Value Pivot/Stack: Christian Wood/P.J. Washington

NBA DFS 2/8 — C

DeAndre Ayton, PHO (vs. DEN) – DK $9,100

Game log watchers are going to steer clear of Ayton, but the truth is that the Suns didn’t really need that much from him as they blew out the Rockets. Like Porzingis, we could benefit from lower ownership because of the recent flop. Ayton is just too talented not to deploy against a Nuggets team that gets most of its production from the center position. Stacking opposing centers isn’t always a great idea, but this might be a chance to do it, as Jokic could have another triple-double tonight and post the highest DK score on the slate. Julius Randle is a viable pivot option for the fearless.

Pivot/Stack: Julius Randle/Nikola Jokic

NBA DFS 2/1 — PG

Spencer Dinwiddie, BKN (@ WAS) – DK $7,400

Kyrie Irving went nuts last with 54 real-life points (71.25 DK points) in 32 minutes against a weak Chicago Bulls team, and he’s going to draw a lot of ownership against the Wizards tonight. While Dinwiddie isn’t starting, he’s going to have the ball in his hands a lot in the best matchup on the board and could see 30+ minutes off the bench – enough for him to reach his ceiling and hit 7x to 8x value. I’ll have some shares of Trae Young in GPPs as well, but getting exposure to Dinwiddie is a priority.

Pivot/Stack: Trae Young/Ish Smith

NBA DFS 2/1 — SG

DeAngelo Russell, GS (@ CLE) – DK $8,500

Russell draws a dream matchup against a Cavs team who struggles to defend combo and scoring guards, and the recent salary bump is guaranteed to keep a few folks off him. As long as we’re not having too much trouble finding value elsewhere (and being fearless) on this slate, it makes sense to disregard the $500 jump from Thursday and roll out Russell in a spot where he could score 40+ RLF and make 7x or more. I’ll stack him up with KPJ in a few given the young swingman no longer has a minutes restriction.

Pivot/Stack: Bradley Beal/Kevin PorterJr.

NBA DFS 2/1 — SF

Tim Hardaway Jr., DAL (vs. ATL) – DK $5,900

Without Luka Doncic the Mavs are going to need scoring from Hardaway and would have probably gotten some from Kristaps Porzingis – but the latter, who dominated under the basket against the Rockets yesterday when they were without Clint Capela, has been ruled out (rest). The Hawks don’t have a ton of size but do have Damian Jones and John Collins, which means we could see a lot of Maxi Kleber and Boban Marjanovic as well (more on them later). The high-energy THJ is in a great spot and could easily hit 8x or more tonight as his usage will be in the 25-30% range.

Pivot/Value Stack: Jaylen Brown/Cam Reddish

NBA DFS 2/1 — PF

Maxi Kleber, DAL (vs. ATL) – DK $3,800

Porzingis (rest) just got ruled out so we can plug in Maxi Kleber confidently (and fearlessly!), as his usage should see a significant bump without Doncic and KP. I had KP all written up for this pot a few minutes ago, but Kleber offers a significant discount and should be involved on both ends of the court Saturday night. Replacing all those fantasy points is going to be a group effort.

 Pivot/Stack: Jason Tatum/John Collins

NBA DFS 2/1 — C

Dwayne Dedmon, SAC (vs. LAL) – DK $4,900

It’s not a lot of fun rolling out Dedmon, especially with his price up to $4,900 from $3,700 just two nights ago, but he and Harry Giles ($3,000) are the Kings’ only options at center against the Lakers. They’re going to need some size to contend with the LA towers, so if he’s starting, he’s got a good chance of making 7x or more, so he’s an option. With KP ruled out, we could see Boban starting, and if that’s the case, he’s a lock at just $3,000 on DK.

Pivot/Stack: Boban Marjanovic/Dwight Howard (if AD sits)

Isaiah’s Protocol picks for the NBA DFS slate are built around DraftKings pricing, but are good across the industry with some slight adjustments to salaries on the various sites.

We have a loaded 9 game NBA DFS slate to look at tonight. There are obvious superstars available and some other options with great upside as well. DraftKings has priced the players well, so injury news during the day could be crucial to help fit all the right pieces into your roster.

I’m writing this up a little differently today as I wouldn’t be doing my job for our WinDaily family if I didn’t include a very key piece. Here’s the thing; if you’re using my favorite player on this NBA DFS slate, your average for remaining players drops to $5314. That eliminates virtually the entire core of this article. At the time that I am writing this piece, I don’t have all the injury news available. You will need that information to include him on your roster.

THE BEST PIECE

James Harden ($12800) The Rockets are on the front end of a B2B, with OKC on tap. Russell Westbrook has been ruled out tonight, for rest before his return to Oklahoma City, tomorrow. Harden has a 46.8% usage rate and a 46.7% assist rate and scores 1.85 FP/min without Westbrook on the floor. This basically tells you that James Harden will score points almost every single time the Rockets touch the ball. Atlanta is the 3rd worst defense in the league, they rank 29th in DEFF, and have the 8th fastest pace. Houston has the 2nd highest pace and is favored by 8, giving them a 121 point implied team total. Factoring in all these numbers it’s no surprise to see Harden projected for almost 70 DKFPTS tonight. Getting him on your roster will be tough, but not impossible.

THE CORE

Bradley Beal ($8500) Beal is questionable, and I don’t have a whole lot of information on this lower leg injury that has kept him out of 5 of the last 6 games. As of right now, he did not participate in the morning shootaround, so I don’t know how helpful this will be. He carries a 33.6% usage rate and scores 1.27 FP/min. Miami has a solid defensive unit ranking 11th in the league, but that hasn’t stopped Beal from averaging 51.2 DKFPTS/gm in 3 contests previous to this one. Simply put, If he’s playing, his salary is too cheap for his upside here. Pivot straight to Jordan McRae ($6600) if Beal is ruled out.

Jimmy Butler ($8200) Butler was out last game with a back injury. He’s been upgraded to probable and should be rested for this NBA DFS slate. The Pacers have questionable tags regarding injuries to Brogdon and Sabonis. I expect this game to stay close with both of them playing tonight, judging by the 1 point spread. Indy ranks 10th in defense and 11th in DEFF and 1st overall in DvsA at Butler’s position. Jimmy “buckets” has a 25.7% usage rate and scores 1.22 FP/min. Looking into Butlers splits I noticed that he scored 40.3 DKFPTS his last time out against the Pacers. He only shot 3 for 11 in that game. I expect him to go low owned tonight, and like his upside at this salary.

Serge Ibaka ($7800) Serge has played admirably since filling in for the injured frontcourt in Toronto. He’s averaged 34 DKFPTS over the last 2 weeks and has a double-double in each of his last 6 games. Ibaka has a 24% usage rate and scores 1.14 FP/min. We know how good it is to pick on the Hornets frontcourt. They rank 23rd in DEFF, and 26th in DvsA. Most of the ownership will be on Lowrys expensive price tag, after dropping close to 50 DKFPTS on yesterday’s NBA DFS slate. Serge provides some nice salary relief and a nice pivot off of Lowry, in a better match up.

Jaylen Brown ($7400) I’m just going to throw this out there. San Antonio can not cover the SG. Going back to New Year’s Eve, Burks had a monster game. It was Shai’s turn on the 2nd, and Bledsoe’s on the 4th. The Spurs rank 28th in DEFF, and 28th in DvsA. Jaylen carries a 23.6% usage rate and scores 1.07 FP/min. Brown went 10 for 18 in 32 minutes, dropping 45.8 DKFPTS the last time he saw the Spurs. Jaylen has a nice salary for this NBA DFS slate.

Others include: Joe Ingles, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, Eric Bledsoe

THE VALUE

Daniel Gafford ($4800) Wendle Carter Jr. has already been ruled out at the center for the Bulls with a sprained ankle. Gafford played well filling in for Carter on Monday going 6 for 13 points and 8 rebounds. He scored 27 DKFPTS in 25 minutes vs. Dallas. New Orleans ranks 22nd in DEFF vs. the center position so Daniel could provide salary relief in this decent match up.

Michael Porter Jr. ($3800) Will Barton has been ruled out tonight. Porter has a 22,5% usage rate, 14.8% rebound rate, 7.2% assist rate, and scores 1.06 FP/min. Dallas ranks 26th in DvsA.  I expect him to start for Barton and is basically a free square on this NBA DFS slate.

Others include: Austin Rivers, Chris Boucher, Wes Iwundu, Oshae Brissett

Breaking news is extremely important on this NBA DFS slate and we will need some value so that we can get at some higher-priced stars into our lineups. I encourage all readers to join myself, and the rest of the WinDaily team in the Discord chat rooms as we break down and discuss our favorite plays of the NBA DFS slate.  Isaiah’s Protocol picks are built around DraftKings NBA DFS pricing but are good across the industry with some slight adjustments to salaries on the various sites. Let’s see what Isaiah’s Protocol picks have in store for you today.

This is a 4 game NBA DFS slate with a lot of injury news expected to come out throughout the day. LeBron James is doubtful, Kawhi, and Giannis are on B2B’s, with the latter dealing with a back injury. Sabonis has a hip injury, Hayward has a foot injury, Millsap has a knee injury, etc….A A TON of people will be distracted by NFL with the playoffs approaching, so it is crucial to stay on top of the injury reports tonight. The best part, with all these injuries, I can see clear paths to jamming a bunch of weapons in your lineups with a solid “stars and scrubs” approach.

The Core

Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,000) It’s quite simple, If he plays, you need him in your lineup. He’s a triple-double machine with almost an unheard of 40% usage rate, scoring just about 2 FP/min. As if that’s not staggering enough, he gets a solid boost on those stats with Bledsoe on the shelf. I don’t care if he’s playing under 30 mins./gm, or only plays 20. If you want to win tonight, and he plays, he better be in your lineup.

Anthony Davis ($10,100) Don’t get too cute here. This is a 4 game NBA DFS slate. Lebron is doubtful. Although it’s a tough match up with the Nuggets being 8th in DvsA, and 7th in DEFF, AD is basically matchup proof and will be asked to shoulder the load tonight in Denver. Davis has a 30.4% usage rate, scores 1.40 FP/min, and plays an average of 35 mins. a game. Expect bumps to all those stats with James missing.

Paul George ($8500) I fully expect Kawhi to be rested tonight on the second half of a B2B after putting up a beast game last night vs. his former team. That also allowed George to have a relatively quiet night. PG is simply too cheap for the circumstances on this NBA DFS slate. He carries a 30% usage rate, 1.4 FP/min., and will be asked to carry his team against his old squad in OKC tonight. The Thunder are 21st in DvsA for PG, and I fully expect him to approach 50 FPS. tonight.

Value

Rajon Rondo ($4300) Rondo should start, and play a full allotment of minutes as the primary ball-handler for this Laker team tonight without LeBron. Rondo has a 20.8% usage rate and scores 1.07 FP/min. I expect a huge bump to those stats as he will be AD’s primary field general in this one. The Nuggets are a strong defense but actually struggle against opposing guards. They are 22nd in DvsA and 21st in DEFF against Rondo’s position. Rajon is priced too cheap for the expected game script on this NBA DFS slate.

Enes Kanter ($4900) or Daniel Theis ($4200) This is really a flip of a coin for me. I’m trying to cram in superstars at the top, so I need value. Both these guys split time at the center for a Boston. It’s no secret in NBA DFS to pick on the big men in Charlotte. Make a stance here, and watch the show. I’m probably leaning toward Theis as the starter, but don’t hold me to that

Moe Harkless ($3600) With Kawhi being rested, and Jamychal Green most likely out with a back injury, Harkless is one of my favorite value plays on this NBA DFS slate. OKC is 22nd in DEFF.

I highly encourage all readers tojoin myself, and the rest of the WinDaily team in the Discord chat rooms as webreak down and discuss our favorite plays of the night. Thank you for readingmy content and feel free to leave a comment, or hit me up on Twitter@IsaiahsProtocol.
