After a bit of a struggle yesterday, we’re looking to get back on track tonight. Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.
NHL Picks
Connor McDavid/Leon Draisaitl .5 Goals
As of writing this, these are the only 2 options we currently have for goals tonight. The Oilers are home tonight against a Kings team that should have Cal Petersen in net. Petersen’s been extremely inconsistent of late, alternating good games with extremely bad games. In his last game, he gave up a whopping 6 goals vs. the Kraken. Not good!
McDavid is always a threat to score a goal, and very well could add to his tally tonight. That said, I’m siding with Draisaitl tonight as he’s red hot! Over his last 5 games, Draisaitl has 7 goals.
Nikolaj Ehlers – 3.5 Shots on Goal – Over
The 3.5 shots is a high number, but it’s one that Ehlers has hit in 3 of his last 5 games. In his last game against the Coyotes, Ehlers had an insanely high 8 shots on goal. He is one of the biggest catalysts to this Winnipeg offense. If we look at all the players on the ice tonight, no player has more shots on goal over their last 5 than Ehlers.
He also has a solid 47 iCF over his last 5 games. The next closest player is Time Meier at 39. What that number indicates is that his 4.5 shots per game over his last 5 is not a fluke. He’s firing away as much as he can, some get blocked but many get through. High prop from PrizePicks tonight, but I think he hits it.
Mika Zibanejad – .5 Assists – Over
I expect there to be a ton of scoring from the Rangers side of things. If there is, Mika will be a big part of it. On the year, Zibanejad is up to 43 assists. He’s been a huge reason why the Rangers are in the position they are currently in. Zibanejad has assists in 5 of his last 8 games and with a matchup against a team that is giving up more than 4.5 goals per game over the last month, I just don’t see how he stays off the scoresheet tonight. I’m going with at least 1 Assist from Zibanejad tonight.
Moritz Seider – .5 Points – Under
The Rangers are battling for playoff position right now. While I expect Georgiev in net tonight and not Shesterkin, they’re playing a tight game right now and I expect them to give up few chances to Detroit. The trades that Drury made at the deadline have so far paid off pretty well. I expect tonight to be very tough for a Red Wings team that just hasn’t been scoring much.
Over the last month, they are scoring just 2.50 goals per game. Seider’s offensive game has been essentially non-existent. He’s now gone 6 games without a point and has just one assist since March 4. Anything can happen and there’s a ton of variance in hockey, but I’m going with the Under on this one from PrizePicks.
