It’s a beautiful five-game slate today in the NHL as redemption is on the minds of a few teams heading into today. The beauty of this year’s NHL season is playing the same team multiple times in a row, similar to an MLB season, so bad blood is sure to spoil over, and some revenge narratives pour in. Let’s dig into the 1/20 NHL DFS Top Plays.
A couple notes for today’s slate: expect the pace of the Toronto and Edmonton game to be fast. Toronto has been giving up goals at a rapid rate, while scoring a bunch, and Edmonton is hungry after Montreal dismantled them twice. This looks to be a high scoring game that you’re going to want to target.
Vegas takes on Arizona again and Vegas Line 2 is clicking. They are at the top of my list heading into tonight.
Everyone seemed to be all over Jordan Binnington the other night, but with how the Sharks are looking to start the season, Sharks Line 2 looks better in my eyes.
1/20/2021 Favorite Stacks
- Vegas Golden Knights Line 2 – William Karlsson, Reilly Smith, and Jonathan Marchessault. Both Vegas top lines have been scoring at a high rate, but this line found fantastic success against Arizona in the first game, and Reilly Smith got on the score sheet twice. They’re affordable on both sites, and a fun line in hockey to watch.
- Toronto Maple Leafs Line 1 – Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Joe Thornton. Matthews hasn’t hit his full stride yet, but still has four points in four games respectively. Marner is flying, with three goals in his last three. It’s typically a one or the other night for Toronto, either the Matthews line pops, or the Tavares line, but in a high-tempo game, Matthews & company should be a high scoring stack.
- San Jose Sharks Line 2 – Tomas Hertl, Evander Kane. Note: I only mentioned 2/3 players on the line. Those are the only two you need. The value that John Leonard provides isn’t much, as these two do the majority of their work on the Power Play and look for it to happen again. The Blues haven’t looked great to start their year, and Binnington hasn’t impressed as of late.
- Kirill Kaprizov $4,800
- Old Man Joe Thornton $4,400
- Reilly Smith $4,800
- Zach Sanford $3,400
- Mike Hoffman $4,500
- Ryan O’Reilly $5,400
There is a lot of value on the Blues tonight and they scored 5 against San Jose the other night. While we can’t expect 9 goals, it sure is a promising spot. Hope you all enjoyed the 1/20 NHL DFS Top Plays and make some money tonight! Good luck!
