NHL DFS The Daily Hot Shot for DraftKings and FanDuel (Mar. 11)

This article focuses on NHL DFS Picks for 3/11 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats, particularly with the recent changes on DraftKings. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large. Top Cash Line

Colorado One – Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, Vladislav Namestikov

The Rangers were flying high last night as they smashed the Dallas Stars. However, their stud goaltender Igor Shesterkin was in net for that game and they should be a bit tired on the back to back. The Rangers have been getting excellent goaltending, primarily from Shesterkin, but have been giving up tons of chances. There should be some regression here tonight against this Colorado team that has had an extra night to rest. Prior to a dud on a back to back against the Kings, this line was flying high and should return to form. All three skaters are preferred but assuming he plays, Nathan MacKinnon is the absolute priority of the three. The Avalanche have a slate high 3.6 implied goal total. If Nathan MacKinnon is out, it will be a downgrade to this line for sure and makes them just another one of many middling lines on this slate so stay tuned for that news.

Top Tournament Line

Los Angeles One – Anze Kopitar, Dustin Brown, Alex Iafallo

If you play on both sites, this line is DraftKings preferred as Anze Kopitar, in particular, is much cheaper over there. On FanDuel, you might just want to use the two wingers. I sort of liked them the other night and although the Kings did upset the heavily favored Avalanche to make it six straight wins, this line did not play a major role. That changes tonight as they get an Ottawa Senators team that is putrid on the road on the second night of a west coast back to back. The oddsmakers in Las Vegas like them as well as they are surprisingly slate high -165 favorites with a 3.35 implied goal total that just barely beats out a couple of other teams for second-best on the slate.
