We are finally at a point in the season where trends are becoming more clear. With that being said, the data just gets better from here. Tonight, we have a nice 9 game slate. Let’s look at the best NHL DFS plays for tonight. Good luck!

Goalies

Jake Oettinger – Dallas Stars: The Stars host the Coyotes tonight, who have been average on the road this year. This is a good spot for Otter, even though upside might be a little limited. The Stars are pretty good on home ice and should limit the chances for the Coyotes.

Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: Ullmark has been solid for the Bruins for a few years now, and this year is no different so far. They get a matchup on the road in Buffalo where he should see some shot upside with a good shot at a win.

Tristan Jarry – Pittsburgh Penguins: The Pens head to Columbus tonight to take on the Blue Jackets in a nice matchup. Jarry has solid numbers and that should continue tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Sam Montembault – Montreal Canadiens: People grimace when they hear Monty’s name, but the truth is that his numbers have been solid recently, especially at home. This is an interesting upside spot to go in net, as he should be peppered with shots. If he can keep up his play, then this could have a save bonus written all over it.

Others to Consider: John Gibson (ANH), Anthony Stolarz (FLA), Connor Hellebuyck (WPG)

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Florida Panthers 2 – Sam Bennett/Matthew Tkachuk/Carter Verhaeghe: This is the absolute best matchup on the board tonight, and there is no question. This line should see the top line for the Sharks in a fantastic matchup. They may put up 5 tonight.

Winnipeg Jets 1 – Mark Scheifele/Alex Iafallo/Kyle Connor/Josh Morrissey: This one feels pretty sneaky, but they should see a lot of the second line for the Devils in a great matchup. No one likes playing the Jets, so this one feels like a nice one to attack tonight.

Tampa Bay Lightning 1 – Brayden Point/Brandon Hagel/Nikita Kucherov/Victor Hedman: The top line for the Bolts has a great matchup against the top line for the Blues. They should see a ton of chances tonight, and with Kucherov most likely back, they should be able to light the lamp.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 – Sidney Crosby/Jake Guentzel/Bryan Rust/Erik Karlsson: The matchup tonight for the Pens top line is very, very solid. They should be considered a top play tonight.

Dallas Stars 3 – Matt Duchene/Mason Marchment/Tyler Seguin: This line should see a heavy dose of the depth lines for Arizona, creating a juicy matchup for a line that has been solid all year long.

Calgary Flames 2 – Nazem Kadri/Martin Pospisil/Connor Zary: This line has great looking numbers, but they are in a small sample, so take it with a grain of salt. They have an interesting matchup tonight, but don’t play them in the same lineup as Montembault.

Montreal Canadiens 2 – Christian Dvorak/Juraj Slafkovsky/Cole Caufleid: Montreal should fly under the radar tonight, and this second line is in a good spot. They should see their chances and have a chance to provide some good value.

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – Mike Amadio/Mark Stone/Will Carrier: This second line should see the second line for the Caps tonight in a great matchup. The risk here is that the Caps tend to shuffle their lines through the game, so the matchup may change throughout. They are definitely worth a look tonight, though.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: BOS2, CBJ2, WSH3
