Welcome back for another Monday Man Advantage! We have a nice little four game slate tonight that should feature a lot of scoring. There will be a few different ways to attack this slate. Let’s get into our NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!
Goalies
Craig Anderson – Buffalo Sabres: Of the goalies on the slate, this one feels like the ‘safest’, as the Flyers bring a bad team to Buffalo on the tail end of a back-to-back. Anderson should be good for the win, but may have a limited ceiling.
Pheonix Copley – Los Angeles Kings: A goalie against the Oilers? Yeah, we are going to go there tonight. The Kings host the Oilers tonight, which means that there should be plenty of upside opportunity for Copley, who has some fantastic numbers. Expect him to give up a couple, but there is a good chance for a save bonus tonight (and maybe even a W).
High Risk Goalie Pick – Samuel Ersson – Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers head to Buffalo tonight to face the Sabres. Ersson has some very solid numbers, and the shot volume should be pretty high tonight. This is one where he is unlikely to get the win, but should be in line for the DK save bonus. Hopefully, he doesn’t give up 8.
Others to Consider: Stuart Skinner (EDM), Juuse Saros (NSH)
Lines to Build Around
These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).
Buffalo Sabres 1 – Tage Thompson/Alex Tuch/Jeff Skinner/Rasmus Dahlin: Wow, the Sabres are in a fantastic spot tonight. The Flyers are coming into Buffalo after getting destroyed by Toronto last night. This top line has a great, great matchup against the second/third lines for the Flyers. Feel free to add Cozens to this group as a power play look.
Los Angeles Kings 1 – Anze Kopitar/Adrian Kempe/Quinton Byfield/Drew Doughty: This Kings line is in a very interesting spot tonight against the second Edmonton line. They should see quite a few chances, and could be a surprise on the night. Also, consider adding in Fiala and Vilardi and taking out Byfield to create a power play look. The Oilers are 23rd on the penalty kill and take the 5th most penalties in the league.
High Risk Lines
These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).
Montreal Canadiens 3 – Jake Evans/Evgenii Dadonov/Joel Armia: In their last game at home, this third line matched the top opposing line. If they go back to that tonight, then this line is set up to be one of the best values on the board. They are extremely cheap and will have a ton of upside. There is a lot of risk in this play, especially if Montreal changes their matching schemes, but this is a great contrarian play if they stick with it.
Nashville Predators 1 – Juuso Parssinen/Colton Sissons/Filip Forsberg/Roman Josi: This Nashville line has a good chance tonight against the Senators. This play is mostly about the goalie matchup, as they get to face Talbot, who has some terrible numbers recently. This game feels very much like a coin flip, so Ottawa 1 could be listed here just as well. MME players should have both sides of this game.
Seattle Kraken Power Play – Matty Beniers/Daniel Sprong/Jordan Eberle/Andre Burakovsky/Justin Schultz: The Kraken are a hard team to play, since their scoring pretty much comes from everywhere. However, it is hard to ignore them tonight against a Montreal team that is just bad on defense. The Canadiens are 4th in times shorthanded per game at 3.6, so this unit should see some chances tonight.
Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Noah Cates/Travis Konecny/Joel Farabee: As much as the top line for the Sabres is good on offense, it lacks on defense. That sets this second Philly line up as an interesting value/contrarian play.
