Welcome to the NHL DFS Man Advantage for a Monday night. This week we have a good size six-game slate for a Monday. This is a late starting slate with lock coming at 8 pm EDT and four games starting at 10 pm or later.
NHL Bets:
Check discord on Monday for any potential bets. With trades being made some lines will most likely change.
NHL DFS: Goalies
Cash Game/Single Entry Goalie
Jacob Markstrom ( @ Chicago)
Markstrom is the best goalie on the slate in the best spot on Monday. With Frederick Andersen being out injured, Markstrom moves to the top goalie spot on this slate. Antti Raanta is a decent goaltender, but Markstrom is much better. After back-to-back bad starts, Markstrom was on point in his last start against Arizona. There is a chance Markstrom doesn’t start on Monday with Calgary playing on Tuesday in Nashville. If Vladar starts, I might consider bumping up to Raanta against Arizona.
Other Options: Antti Raanta (@ Arizona)
GPP Goalies:
There are two goalies that pop off the screen at me for GPP’s on Monday. Logan Thompson (VGK) at home versus the Devils, and Anton Forsberg (Ott) on the road in Seattle. Both goalies are not premier names and probably won’t win a Vezina anytime soon, but they have both been playing well this season and are in plus matchups. Thompson may not start if Robin Lehner returns after leaving the team for personal reasons, but if Lehner is back, he is just as good of a play.
As for Forsberg, he has been a pleasant surprise for Ottawa this season. Seattle has been playing .500 hockey of late but has only scored 15 goals in their last six. Both of these goalies are risky and will probably be overlooked in favor of Raanta and Markstrom, but they both could give you better production for their price, especially Forsberg.
Other Options: Darcy Kuemper (vs Washington), Thatcher Demko (vs Dallas), Philipp Grubauer (vs Ottawa)
NHL DFS: Slate Overview
Colorado is always popular when they’re on the slate, and Monday should be no different. I have them as my top team on the slate, and their top line is the top line stack on this slate. They will also be a popular stack, so I will look at two other spots that could be just as fruitful.
Line stacks to build around:
Calgary L1 (Tkachuk – Lindholm – Gaudreau)
Calgary’s top line was split up for a bit, but they are back together and haven’t missed a beat since Tkachuk rejoined the line. Speaking of Tkachuk, he has ten points (6g – 4a) in his last five games and Gaudreau has 6 goals himself in his last five. If you wanted to run two forwards with a dman, I suggest either Noah Hanifin or Rasmus Andersson.
Both of Calgary’s second and third lines are also in play for value, especially Blake Coleman and Dillon Dube on line 3 as both are min priced on DK.
Carolina Hurricanes L1 (Svechnikov – Aho – Jarvis)
This line has not been as productive as Calgary’s top line, but Arizona is probably the worst defensive team in the league. The Coyotes have allowed five goals or more in six straight games and are coming off back-to-back games allowing 7 or more.
While I do think I will have exposure to the top line, I will also have at least one lineup with the Hurricanes’ 3rd line in it as well. Jordan Staal has six goals in his last five and Niederreiter and Fast have three assists each in that stretch.
Other Top Stacks: Vegas L1 (Dadonov – Eichel – Roy W/Theodore on D), Ottawa L1 (B. Tkachuk – Norris – Brown W/Hamonic, or Del Zotto on D), Vancouver L1 (Garland – Horvat – Pettersson W/Ekman-Larsson or Myers, or Schenn on D), Washington L1 (Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Sheary W/Carlson, Orlov, or Schultz on D), Chicago L1 (Kane – Strome – DeBrincat W/ S. Jones, McCabe, Stillman on D)
Value Stacks:
- Vancouver L2: Podkolzin – Miller – Chiasson
- Seattle L1: Eberle – Beniers – Donato
- Colorado L2: Lehkonen – Compher – Burakovsky – W/Makar, Manson, Toews on D
- New Jersey L2: Tatar – Mercer – Bratt – W/Severson, Bahl, Hamilton on D
- Chicago L2: Raddysh – Toews – Johnson
