11/17 NHL Favorite Popular Line
Vegas One “Jack Eichel ($8,000), Chandler Stephenson ($5,600), Mark Stone ($5,800)“
Man, I hate to be repetitive but I think that we go back to the well for the second Thursday in a row. Vegas has a slam dunk matchup where they are whopping -380 money line home favorites. That is huge for an NHL game. They’re giving the total 6.5 as they figure the Golden Knights will be slam-dunking on the lowly Coyotes.
As it stands, currently this line is in a three-way tie for the second most line-created goals in the NHL with ten. However, they are second only to Florida’s top line in SATF, which is the measure that I monitor more.
11/17 NHL Favorite Contrarian Line
Winnipeg Two “Pierre-Luc Dubois ($5,100), Blake Wheeler ($3,900), Cole Perfetti ($3,600)”
Tied for 27th in the NHL in SATF so not entirely jaw-dropping, we get Winnipeg’s second line. The amazing part is the cumulative price, especially considering the plus matchup with the Ducks. Anaheim is surrendering a ton of goals thus far this season and we want to attack them as much as possible. Only Dubois sits on the Jet’s top power-play unit. However, the other two skaters do see time on the second power-play unit.
Defensemen and Goalies
Defensemen
Mark Giordano – Toronto – $3,000 – Perhaps somewhat of a shell of his former self. However, that’s built into the price. I think the Devils/Toronto game goes over the total and he is regularly seeing 20 mins a night with Jake Muzzin down. He has been blocking shots like a maniac over the last two games adding to his normal work. Ryan Graves of New Jersey is another option from the same game who also fits the bill at $3,100.
Nick Perbix – Tampa Bay – $3,500 – Cheap play with goal-scoring upside. Most of the guys below him price-wise are of the defensive variety. The rookie has six points in thirteen games to date.
Goalies
Conor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets – $8,300 – Stellar 2.08 GAA and Winnipeg is a -205 favorite at home. He makes sense on a couple of levels and would be the cash-game goalie for sure.
Juuse Saros – Nashville Predators – $7,400 – Coming off back-to-back strong starts and home here in a six-total game for a low price. Nashville is a -120 favorite but Sorokin on the other side is priced considerably higher.
11/17 NHL Best Bet
New York Rangers/Seattle Kraken – U 6 (-110) – DraftKings – 1 Unit – Leaning to the models here which suggest a predicted total of 5.12.
