Early Games

WASHINGTON REDSKINS @ BUFFALO BILLS

Despite the fact that Josh Allen ($6,500) is known as a deep-ball thrower he has actually struggled this year downfield. According to PFF, 40 percent of his targets of ten or more air yards have been charted as uncatchable. However, John Brown ($6,100) has been super consistent this season with five receptions in four straight games. The Redskins have allowed 42 percent of their fantasy points to the wide receiver position. Brown ranks ninth in the NFL in total air yards and his ADOT of 13.9 is the only one on the Bills that are over ten yards.

Adrian Peterson ($4,200) also needs to be considered. The Bills over the past two weeks have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to the running back position. Redskins DST ($1,800) is probably the cheapest defense that you can feel somewhat okay about slotting into your lineups. The Bills are giving up 1.7 turnovers per game and give up the eighth-most fantasy points to the DST position.

TENNESSEE TITANS @ CAROLINA PANTHERS

I have spoken very highly about Ryan Tannehill ($5,300) the past two weeks, but this is where the train stops for him. The reason being is because Tannehill is a great quarterback at home, but struggles mightily on the road. He has not thrown for 300 yards and three touchdowns on the road since 2015.

The Tennesse Titans wide receivers are in an interesting spot and come in at value prices on the Week 9 main slate. The Panthers are allowing the most fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks. The Carolina receivers are also coming in at a low price. Corey Davis ($4,600), A.J. Brown ($4,400), D.J. Moore ($4,800), and Curtis Samuel ($4,300) are all great sub-5K receivers. Also, do what you can to stuff Christian McCaffrey ($10,000) in your cash lineups even at his high price.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS @ KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

With the salaries inflated this week Matt Moore ($4,800) might need to be the cash quarterback that you put into your lineups. He played fine in his first game this season scoring 18.98 DraftKings points. Andy Reid knows how to scheme his quarterback in his offense to succeed. He is also surrounded by great weapons especially Sammy Watkins ($4,900) who is too cheap and is coming off an eight target game. Over the past two weeks, the Vikings have allowed the third-most fantasy points to the wide receiver position.

Dalvin Cook ($9,500) also is worth every penny to pay up for. Over the past four weeks, no team has allowed more fantasy points to the running back position than the Kansas City Chiefs.

NEW YORK JETS @ MIAMI DOLPHINS

Finally a get right game for Sam Darnold and Gang Green. Miami is terrible across the board, but specifically, they rank fourth-worst versus the quarterback position. Every single quarterback they have played has thrown for multiple touchdowns and scored at least 15 fantasy points. Though Le’Veon Bell ($7,700) is not my favorite 7K running back this week he is definitely viable in both cash and GPPs.

CHICAGO BEARS @ PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Mitchell Trubisky ($5,000) is the ultimate GPP play this week. The Eagles do not have a great secondary, so pairing Trubisky with the likes of stud receiver Allen Robinson ($6,800) could be fruitful. The Eagles rank second-worst in the NFL in fantasy points allowed to receivers. Tarik Cohen ($4,200) could also see a ton of work in the passing game if the Bears are trailing. The Eagles have allowed the seventh-most receptions and targets to backs this season. Eagles DST ($3,000) is probably one of the safer DSTs you can pay up for in Week 9.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Diontae Johnson ($4,500) and JuJu Smith-Schuster ($6,300) are both coming in very underpriced because they both played on Monday night. However, they are both seeing targets in a decent matchup versus the Colts that have allowed 15th fewest fantasy points to the wide receiver position. Jaylen Samuels ($4,000) is the lock-button play if James Conner is forced to miss the game. We have seen Samuels in a featured role in the past and all he has done is exceed expectations.

For the Colts Jack Doyle ($3,000) is the best punt play at tight end. He has at least five targets in three of his last four games. The matchup on paper versus the Steelers is also pretty good. Over the past four weeks, they have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to the tight end.

Late Games

DETROIT LIONS @ OAKLAND RAIDERS

Matthew Stafford ($6,800) is in an absolute smash spot in Week 9 versus the Raiders defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game (28.2) to quarterbacks over the past four weeks.

Derek Carr ($5,500) is definitely going to be a chalky quarterback play because of his price and the matchup. The Lions have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game over the past four weeks to the quarterback position. However, Carr is a fade for me, because I think this is going to be a monster spot for Josh Jacobs ($6,500). The reason being is the Raiders want to be a run-first team. In the neutral game script, Oakland calls run plays fifth-most in the NFL for 5.2 yards per carry. The Lions defense has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs over the past four weeks.

The Raiders are favorites at home and Detroit is allowing 27 rushing attempts per game at 5.0 yards per attempt on the road. It’s no coincidence that Carr is averaging 11.7 points per game at home versus 18.1 points per game on the road. That in addition to Jacobs averaging 22.2 fantasy points per game at home versus 11.7 points per game on the road.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

If you pay up for any receiver this week it should be Chris Godwin ($7,300). No team has allowed more targets to the wide receiver position over the past four weeks than the Seattle Seahawks. Godwin is coming off his second-worst performance of the season so he could come in at lower ownership. According to Derek Brown on Twitter Godwin has a 75.9 percent catch rate and has scored 61.5 percent of his touchdowns versus zone coverage. Seattle is playing 60 percent of its cornerback snaps from zone coverage.

Jameis Winston ($6,100) is another GPP play with the Seahawks allowing the most passing attempts and second-most passing yards to quarterbacks over the past four weeks. Seattle also has the third-worst graded pass rush by Pro Football Focus. DK Metcalf ($5,700) is also in a great spot, so he is my recommended Seahawk to bring back on a game stack. Jacob Hollister ($2,900) is also an interesting punt play at the tight end. Buccaneers are second-worst versus the tight end over the past four weeks.

CLEVELAND BROWN @ DENVER BRONCOS

Both DSTs in this game are both in play. The Browns ($3,100) are allowing the second-most fantasy points to defenses this season and the Broncos are allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to defenses this season. Denver ($2,900) is also starting Brandon Allen ($4,100) for the first time this season.

GREEN BAY PACKERS @ LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Aaron Jones ($7,000) is one of the must-play running backs in Week 9. He is facing one of the leagues worst run defense. The Chargers over the past four weeks have allowed the most rushing attempts, most rushing yards, and sixth-most red zone touches to running backs. His target share in the passing game will decrease if Davante Adams ($7,100) is active. Adams will most likely be a game-time decision and because he is playing later could be a great late-swap pivot target.

Mike Williams ($4,600) is the king of touchdown regressions and air yards projection. Over the past four weeks, Williams ranks fifth in the NFL in air yards with a 14.5 ADOT but has scored zero touchdowns. The touchdowns will come and that could easily be against Green Bay, which has allowed the second-most receiving yards to wide receivers over the past four weeks. Hunter Henry ($6,000) is probably in the best spot to pay up for this week at tight end. No team has allowed more red-zone targets to tight ends than the Packers.
