Let’s dive in to NFL DFS Wide Receivers for Wild Card Weekend.
Welcome to the playoffs everyone, and its going to be an exciting weekend. I want to list out some quick points that will help you in your contests this weekend.
- Its NOT a CASH slate, I don’t recommend playing cash games or 50/50s
- On a normal slate, I do believe you have to stick with the pack and somewhat of the ownership, but on a smaller slate like what we have here this weekend, you have to get different. Don’t be afraid to take a risk on a guy that could have a shot, and that will allow you to pay up for some of the elite players on this slate.
- Late Swap, Please make sure in all your builds you leave that Flex spot for your late games. You may want to pivot off some chalk, and you won’t want to make this mistake this weekend.
I’ll break down the Wide Receivers in tiers this week, and help separate out DK vs FD.
DRAFTKINGS
Cooper Kupp, Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Deebo Samuel, CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, Christian Kirk, Jakobi Meyers, Tyreek Hill, Byron Pringle
FANDUEL
Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Tee Higgins, Christian Kirk, Ja’Marr Chase, Zay Jones, CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, Diontae Johnson
JA’MARR CHASE or TEE HIGGINS
Chase is a guy that has huge upside and you don’t want to not have him in case he breaks the slate. Burrow and Chase are on fire right now, and you have to the think the Raiders D try and double him, which really could leave a wide open Higgins in many opportunities. If Chase has a rough day, you can certainly count on Higgins to come through. I am looking to stack these Wide Receivers this week with Burrow in a bunch of my lineups this weekend. Long story short, play at least one of these guys.
ZAY JONES or HUNTER RENFROW
Cincinnati is giving up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, now with that being said, Zay Jones has out targeting Renfrow now in 4 straight games. He also ranks 5th in air yards since Week 12. Darren Waller is back this week, and I do think that opens things up a bit for Renfrow and Jones nicely. Waller has been a bit of a disappointment all season, but I’m hoping the extra receiver out there this week that can make an impact, and again help Zay and Hunter in this match up. I really like stacking this game. Jacobs, Jones, Chase, Higgins.
THE BILLS
Diggs gets a bit of a tougher matchup this week, and I don’t want to downplay it at all, because Diggs could go off at anytime, but he’s really not the Stefon Diggs of last year. The upside really isn’t there for me this week for him. Sanders is looking like he’s back this week, so a guy like Davis or McKenzie become too deep of plays, which isn’t terrible but I think there are much better options.
NEW ENGLAND
I do believe they will be pounding the rock here with Damien Harris, and I don’t feel I want much of this passing attack this week. The only WR I’m really considering here is Meyers, that’s it.
TAMPA BAY RECEIVERS
It is going to be the Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski show folks. With AB in the insane asylum now, this makes Mike Evans a huge TD target for Tom. This could draw some extra coverage this week towards Evans, so his matchup will be a little tougher than usual. So we are looking at a guy like Bershad Perriman especially if Grayson is still dealing with his hamstring injury. Stack the Bucs!! Brady, Gronk, Evans.
PHILLY RECEIVERS
I don’t think I’m going to get to cute here, but if I play anyone from the Eagles side it will be DeVonta Smith. You never know what the Eagles are going to do, run heavy or pass heavy, so there are some nice darts you can throw at this one. I like the Running Backs in this one better, or Hurts Naked.
DALLAS COWBOYS RECEIVERS
During the last 5 games of the regular season the 49ers have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing Wide Receivers. In the beginning of the season, Lamb was the clear WR1 in Dallas, but as the season progressed Cooper started to emerge over Lamb, well at least over the last five games. Gallup is out, and that usually upticks Wilson and Shultz. Its been tough to call the Cooper over Lamb and vice versa each week, but Dak is looking like a great QB play this weekend, and building a bunch of builds with both or all 3 WRs in different lineups, seems like a great idea.
49er RECEIVERS
I’ll start with the Dallas Defense is almost Fantasy 2 faced. One minute the are awesome, and the next minute they can give up a ton of production, and in fact they are the 6th worst team in allowing production to Wide Receivers. Deebo Samuel is has been a stone cold stud all season, and you can bet that he will be a focal point of this offense this weekend. I absolutely love Deebo as a pivot off some of these higher owned top end Wide Receivers this weekend. He’s the only WR I’ll consider this weekend from the 9ers.
KANSAS CITY RECEIVERS
Why the hell is Tyreek Hill so damn cheap? Can anyone tell me this? Now I get that Tyreek is a little banged up, but its now the playoffs, it’s Kansas City, and Tyreek Hill right? Over the past when Hill has been injured he really doesn’t fair well. He tends to be more of a wussy than other players alike. We really need to watch this news, as he was limited again in practice on Thursday and Friday. If Tyreek is really that banged up, this opens a huge door for Pringle. Pringle absolutely crushed in Week 16 when Hill and Kelce were both banged up, and Hardman didn’t look to bad either. This is one that we will have to watch closely.
PITTSBURGH RECEIVERS
This doesn’t get me too excited but there are certainly a few things I want to make mention of. We might see JuJu back in the lineups this weekend, and if that is the case for Min Salary on DK he almost has to be in serious consideration. D. Johnson will see the volume as he will continue to remain Bens favorite target, and with this being Ben’s last hooray, well hopefully he just continues to air it out. One last dart that I want to make mention is the TE Zach Gentry. That is all. Fire up the KC Defense. LOL.
LOS ANGELES RAMS
Let’s go ahead and save the best matchup for last right? The Cardinals have given up a ton of points to opposing Wide Receivers, and you guessed it. Cooper Kupp is going to have a field day. Now with that, he’ll be one of the highest owned players on the slate, even at his high price tag. Because of his price tag, and his ownership, there is really an argument here to fade him. I like the spot for OBJ this weekend and I want to play him over Jefferson. Jefferson has seen his routes drop drastically over the past few weeks. OBJ is the guy this week.
ARIZONA RECEIVERS
Christian Kirk is the guy from the cards that I want to target this weekend. Currently he’s averaging over 8 targets a game and almost 90 air yards consistently since Hopkins got hurt. Zach Ertz is also a guy that puts up WR1 numbers and in this matchup vs the Rams, you can bet that Ertz will be heavily targeted. I really like Flexing Ertz in certain builds I’ve been tinkering with. AJ Green would be a dart that I might consider. It just feels gross, and I like that.
Good Luck Family!! Let’s crush. LFG
Honorable Mention: Jason Mezrahi for being awesome.
