TOP PG Picks:
Kyle Lowry – DK: ($8,700)
- Lowry has now racked up at least 40 fantasy points on DraftKings in seven out of his last ten games. Toronto just lost Fred Van Vleet for tonight’s game which will make Lowry’s usage rating spike. He also has a solid match-up against Portland who is ranked 20th in the NBA against opposing PG’s this year. At the end of the day, Toronto is hurting right now and I fully expect them to rely heavily on Lowry tonight. Look for him to have a floor of 40 fantasy points on DraftKings.
Derrick Rose – DK: ($6,400)
- Derrick Rose is a great DFS play tonight. Detroit is currently missing Blake Griffin, Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, and Markieff Morris. They also might be without Tony Snell tonight. This should allow Rose to see around 30 minutes of action moving forward. On the season, Rose averages 24.5 minutes per game to go along with 30.5 fantasy points per game. It’s simple math to say that his minutes will be elevated and therefore his potential fantasy output for tonight also increases. Not to mention this match-up should be a cake-walk for Rose. He will be taking on Cleveland who is ranked 23rd in the league against opposing PG’s.
Shabazz Napier – DK: ($6,100)
- Napier has been doing a lot of the dirty work for Minnesota since taking a spot in the starting 5. In fact, Napier has now recorded at least 36 points on DraftKings in each of his last four games. Teague is back and healthy but Minnesota seems to like what Napier brings to the table as a starter. Tonight he has an exploitable match-up against Memphis who is currently ranked 22nd in the NBA against opposing PG’s. Look for Shabazz to have a floor of 32 fantasy points tonight with a ceiling of 48.
Top SG Picks:
Devin Booker – DK: ($8,800)
- Booker is a no brainer tonight for DFS contests as Phoenix has their sights aimed at Sacramento tonight. This will be the fourth game this season between these two teams. Through the first three, Booker is averaging an impeccable 49.7 fantasy points per game. On top of that Booker has racked up at least 44 points on DraftKings in each of his last 6 games. Look for him to have a floor of 45 fantasy points tonight.
Andrew Wiggins – DK: ($6,900)
- Wiggins made his return to the starting lineup after sitting out the last four games. His minutes were a little limited in this once but he was still able to rack up 32 fantasy points on DraftKings. If Towns misses another game tonight, I expect Wiggins to have a big performance. Minnesota has played Memphis twice already this season and Wiggins is averaging 44.3 fantasy points per game against them. He shot horribly in his last game but it’s to be expected after sitting four games.
Dillon Brooks – DK: ($4,900)
- Brooks is my value play at the SG position for tonight’s main slate. His price is very reasonable and there’s something to be said about his consistency this year compared to last year. He’s not the best player on the floor by any means. But, when he gets his confidence going, he can shoot with the best of them. He will play Minnesota tonight for the third time this season. Brooks is averaging 37 fantasy points per game against MIN over the first two outings.
Top SF Picks:
LeBron James – DK: ($11,200)
- LeBron James recorded at least 54 points on DraftKings in eight of his last ten games. On top of that, LeBron has recorded 3 triple-doubles over his last seven games. This will be the first time the Lakers play New York this season. I fully expect LeBron to have his way in this one as New York doesn’t have anyone that can go toe to toe with him. Look for Bron to have a floor of 48 fantasy points on DraftKings tonight.
Kelly Oubre Jr. – K: ($7,300)
- Kelly Oubre is one of the better value plays on tonight’s slate given how high his floor has been recently. He’s recorded at least 36 fantasy points on DraftKings in each of his last five games. On top of that, Oubre is averaging 45.1 fantasy points per game against Memphis this season through three games. The defensive statistics are also a plus considering Oubre has grabbed at least 1 steal in nine of his last ten games. Look for him to have a floor of 40 fantasy points on DK tonight.
Og Anunoby – DK: ($5,400)
- Anunoby is another value play on tonights DK main slate due to the number of injuries Toronto is currently dealing with. Toronto just lost another starter in Fred VanVleet last game. This puts them down three of their starters; as well as their 6th man Norman Powell. Anunoby has been very up and down recently but with Toronto missing half their team he will be forced into a large role. He’s more than capable as evidenced by his recent game logs. He’s recorded at least 29 fantasy points on DK in five of his last ten. Don’t go all-in with him, but I do like that he will have a very low ownership percentage.
Top PF Picks:
Anthony Davis – DK: ($10,700)
- AD continued his dominant ways two nights ago as the Lakers bested Detroit 106-99. In that game, AD recorded 24 points, 11 rebounds, 8 blocks, 3 steals, and 2 assists. He was just 2 blocks away from recording a triple-double. The crazy stat here was that AD acquired 33 of his 64 fantasy points on the defensive end. You can’t expect to see those kinds of numbers on a nightly basis. However, tonight Davis has another very exploitable match-up against New York. They are ranked 22nd in the NBA against opposing PF’s.
Serge Ibaka – DK: ($8,300)
- Just when you think it can’t get worse for the Raptors, Fred Van Vleet goes down with an injury. Toronto now is missing three starters and their 6th man Norman Powell. Nevertheless, Ibaka has really stepped it up in the absences. In fact, Ibaka has now recorded at least 33 points on DraftKings in eight of his last ten appearances. He has a great match-up tonight against Portland who is ranked 29th in the NBA against opposing PF’s.
Nemanja Bjelica – DK: ($5,300)
- Bogdan Bogdanovic and Marvin Bagley have already ruled out for tonight’s game. On top of that, starting PF Richaun Holmes is also listed as questionable. Bjelica is already going to see extended minutes due to who has already been ruled out. If Holmes misses tonight’s game then Bjelica is a lock-in my book. He has taken on Phoenix three times this season and is currently averaging 25.7 fantasy points per game against them.
Top C Picks:
Andre Drummond – DK: ($9,700)
- Drummond is a no brainer going into tonights NBA slate. Detroit is dealing with all kinds of injuries at the movement which only will boost his fantasy output. On top of that, Drummond is taking on Cleveland tonight who is ranked 24th in the NBA against opposing C’s. Going off that, Cleveland will also be without Tristan Thompson tonight which will leave the paint a little more vulnerable than usual. I’m expecting Drummond to have a monster game tonight.
Jonas Valanciunas – DK: ($7,200)
- Valanciunas has now recorded at least 32 points on DraftKings in nine out of his last ten games. He’s coming off arguably one of his best games of the season two nights ago against Phoenix. In that bout, Valanciunas put up 30 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 1 steal in 27 minutes of action. His one limitation is that he will more than likely not play 30+ minutes. However, he only needs roughly 25 minutes to put up his floor of 30 fantasy points. Tonight he will take on Minnesota who is ranked 22nd in the NBA against opposing C’s. On top of that, Karl Anthony Towns may not be available to play once again.
Ante Zizic – DK: ($4,600)
- Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance Jr. will both miss tonight’s game which in turn allows for Zizic to have an increased role. On January 5th, Cleveland took on Minnesota and Zizic recorded a whopping 15 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in just 25 minutes of action. It’s somewhat of a speculative pick tonight given he’s only played 10+ minutes in three of his last ten games. However, the injuries should allow him to gather extra playing time tonight especially against Detroit’s bigs.
