NBA DraftKings Picks – December 30th

Welcome Back, Everyone! Tonight’s main slate on DraftKings has a total of 4 games and the first match-up tips off at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time. There are a ton of value plays on this NBA slate due to the injuries that Washington and Minnesota are dealing with. This article breaks down all of my favorite plays by position for tonight’s slate. As always, Good Luck Tonight!

-NBA Schedule-

ORL @ WAS – At 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time
POR @ NY – At 7:30 P.M. Eastern Time
MIN @ MIL – At 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time
PHO @ LAL – At 10:30 P.M. Eastern Time

Top PG Picks:

Ricky Rubio – DK: ($7,000)

Rubio is one of my top plays at the PG position tonight because he’s way cheaper than Damian Lillard but has a very similar floor and ceiling tonight. Phoenix has a tough match-up against the Lakers tonight; whereas Lillard has a cake-walk against the Knicks. Getting Rubio tonight also gives you some salary relief at the position. There is a lot of value plays given Washington and Minnesota are on the slate and they are very depleted with injuries. Look for Rubio to have a floor of 35 fantasy points tonight.

Shabazz Napier – DK: ($5,800)

Napier exploded against Brooklyn two nights ago where he went for 43 points on DraftKings. Minnesota is without Andrew Wiggins and Karl Anthony Towns going into tonight. This means Napier will once again have an increased role. When he gets heavy minutes, it usually translates to a nice fantasy day. Earlier in the season when Napier played Milwaukee, he racked up put up 27.8 fantasy points on DraftKings in 24 minutes of action. He will more than likely see around 30 minutes of action tonight which should translate to a floor of 30 fantasy points for him.

Markelle Fultz – DK: ($5,100)

I think Fultz will get overlooked tonight due to the amount of value that is mixed into this slate. That could make him a great DFS play as his ownership will be below 10% in many lobbies. What I like about the match-up is that Washington is ranked 26th in the NBA against opposing PG’s. On top of that, Fultz already played Washington once this year and racked up 30 fantasy points on DraftKings in that outing. The Wizards are also very banged up at the moment so I expect Fultz to exploit this defense with ease. Look for him to have a floor of 26 fantasy points tonight.

Top SG Picks:

Devin Booker – DK: ($7,400)

Booker and the Suns come into tonight with a 2-game winning streak after losing their previous eight games in a row. It won’t be easy for Phoenix tonight as they get set to take on the Lakers who have the second-best record in the NBA. However, Booker played L.A. once this season and was able to rack up 37.8 fantasy points on DraftKings. On top of all that, Booker has racked up at least 44 fantasy points in each of his last three games. He appears to be heating up so I don’t want to miss out on him tonight. Look for a floor of 35 fantasy points.

Jordan McRae – DK: ($5,800)

McRae made his presence known against Miami two nights ago where he dropped 29 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block in 35 minutes of action. Washington is dealing with a ton of injuries right now. The Wizards are basically just giving the ball to whoever has the hot hand that night. That might deter you from picking some of Washington’s players tonight, but I still think McRae is a lock. He has recorded at least 21 points on DraftKings in eight out of his last ten games. Tonight he will take on Orlando for the second time this season. The first game McRae dropped 21.8 fantasy points on DraftKings in 26 minutes of action.

Jarrett Culver – DK: ($4,800)

No Wiggins or Towns tonight for Minnesota. That makes Culver a very intriguing DFS option given how low his price is compared to his potential ceiling. He was given a whopping 38 minutes of action in his last outing and was able to record 41 fantasy points on DraftKings. This game will obviously get out of hand due to the injuries and the fact that Milwaukee is clearly the better team. Nevertheless, Culver still figures to play around 30 minutes of action tonight. If the game does somehow remain close for the first three quarters; Culver then has a chance at another ceiling performance.

Top SF Picks:

LeBron James – DK: ($10,300)

We are 32 games into the season and LeBron is still leading the entire NBA in assists per game with 10.8). That should only boost his trajectory for tonight as Phoenix is giving up 115 points per game right now which is good enough for 25th in the NBA. I fully expect LeBron to have a double-double with points and assists tonight. Earlier in the season when LeBron played Phoenix he put up 45.8 fantasy points on DraftKings. That is where his floor should be for tonight’s match-up.

Jonathon Isaac – DK: ($6,600)

Isaac is another solid SF option on this slate as he has now recorded at least 37 points on DraftKings in three out of his last four games. The one negative is that Isaac can be extremely sporadic. However, I don’t think he will struggle tonight as Orlando gets set to take on the Wizards who are missing half their team to injuries. In fact, I think this is one of the more perfect match-ups for Isaac as he should be a menace on the defensive end. The Wizards are also ranked 24th in the NBA against opposing SF’s. Look for him to have a floor of 30 fantasy points tonight.

Keita Bates-Diop – DK: ($4,100)

Keita is my sleeper pick at the SF Position tonight as he is priced extremely low at the moment. Minnesota is going into tonight’s game without Karl Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, and Jake Layman. The T-Wolves also have Graham, Vonleh, and Teague listed as questionable for tonight. If all of those guys miss tonight’s game, I will 100% be putting Diop in several lineups. Make sure you keep an eye out on the injury report before using Diop heavily tonight!

Top PF Picks:

Anthony Davis – DK: ($9,900)

AD has been a little bit quieter over the past few games and I think he is due to explode tonight. Davis played Phoenix once this year already and was able to put up 52.5 fantasy points on DraftKings. He will need to finish with a similar line tonight in order to pay-off. If you want to save a little bit of money tonight at this position, I would also pivot from Davis to Julius Randle. Nevertheless, look for AD to have his usual floor of 45 fantasy points tonight.

Julius Randle – DK: ($8,000)

Randle is in a very tough position tonight seeing as the Knicks have to take on Milwaukee who currently owns the best record in the NBA (30-5). The reason it’s tough is that Randle is playing some of the best basketball he’s played in a long time. He’s now scored 30+ points for New York in each of his last three outings. What worries me about this pick is the blow-out potential. On paper, Milwaukee is ranked 29th in the NBA against the PF position. However, the one time Randle played Milwaukee this season; he was held to just 29 fantasy points in 25 minutes of action due to the blow-out nature of the game.

Carmelo Anthony – DK: ($5,900)

Melo is in a solid spot for tonight’s main NBA slate as Portland gets set to take on New York. Melo played the Knicks once this season and was able to rack up 27 fantasy points in just 24 minutes of action. Portland blew New York out of the water back on December 10th with a final score of 115-87. However, that game was at home for Portland and they will be going on the road tonight. With that being the case I think this game, I think this will be a much more competitive game. Look for Melo to have a floor of 26 fantasy points tonight.

Top C Picks:

Hassan Whiteside – DK: ($8,300)

Whiteside has now recorded at least 44 fantasy points on DraftKings in seven out of his last ten games. Tonight he has a prime match-up against the Knicks who he torched back on December 10th. In that game, Whiteside racked up 49 fantasy points in just 26 minutes of action. Obviously this game was a blowout so he played minimal minutes which limited his overall production. Tonight is an away game for Whiteside and Portland so I think this will be a close game. Look for him to have a floor of 40 fantasy points tonight.

Nikola Vucevic – DK: ($8,200)

I really like how Whiteside and Vucevic are basically at the same price tonight. Vucevic draws a very exploitable match-up against Washington tonight who is currently ranked 24th in the NBA against opposing C’s. On top of that, back on December 7th, Vucevic played Washington and racked up 30 points, 17 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 block in 33 minutes of action. Washington is missing half their roster at the moment so it may be smart to take advantage of Vucevic tonight. Even if it turns into a blow-out, he should still be able to hit value with ease.

Gorgui Dieng – DK: ($6,400)

Dieng continues to be a beast for Minnesota as Karl Anthony Towns recovers from his knee injury. In fact, Dieng has now recorded 30 fantasy points on DraftKings in four out of his last five games. Tonight he has a tougher match-up against the Milwaukee Bucks. Earlier in the season when these two teams met, Dieng went for 25.5 fantasy points in 17 minutes off the bench. With Towns and Wiggins already being ruled out tonight, Dieng will have to be a lot more active on both ends of the floor. Look for him to have a floor of 30 fantasy points tonight.
