TOP PG Picks:
Trae Young – DK: ($10,800)
Trae Young has been rolling over the last week for Atlanta. He’s recorded at least 50 fantasy points on DraftKings in seven out of his last eight games. Now with John Collins back on the floor, it will help take some of the pressure off Young. It will also help lead to more assists because of Collins offensive capabilities. Tonight he will take on Milwaukee and this will be their third match-up of the season. Young is averaging 46 points on DraftKings over the previous two games against them. On top of that, both games were competitive through four quarters. Look for Young to have a floor of 45 fantasy points tonight.
Ricky Rubio – DK: ($7,100)
Rubio is one of my favorite plays at the PG position tonight on DraftKings because of the match-up. He gets set to take on Golden State tonight and they are currently ranked 25th in the entire NBA against opposing PG’s. Rubio now has gathered at least 41 fantasy points on DraftKings in four out of his last five outings. There are plenty of mouths to feed on this Phoenix team already. Which actually helps Rubio’s fantasy production due to his excellent passing abilities. In fact, Rubio has recorded at least 8 assists in each of his last ten games. If you don’t want to break the bank and pay up for Young, Rubio is a solid alternative.
Goran Dragic – DK: ($5,300)
If you are in need of some salary relief at the PG position tonight, Dragic could be what you’re looking for. He has quietly been outpacing rookie and starter Kendrick Nunn all season. Sure, Nunn has flashed a higher ceiling so far; but Dragic has been a lot more consistent. Especially for being a bench player. Dragic has recorded at least 24 points on DraftKings in eight of his last ten games. If he hits 25+ fantasy points tonight, he will be a steal. I’m also expecting Dragic to have very low ownership of DK.
Top SG Picks:
Khris Middleton – DK: ($7,000)
Middleton was one of the few positives that Milwaukee was able to take away from their Christmas day game with Philly. The Bucks were getting absolutely demolished but Middleton wasn’t rolling over. He finished the game with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal in 33 minutes of action. Tonight he will be taking on Atlanta who is 29th in the entire NBA Vs. opposing SG’s. With Bledsoe still sidelined, it’s only logical to assume that Middleton will have a somewhat elevated floor moving forward. Look for him to have a floor of 35 fantasy points on DK tonight.
Damion Lee – DK: ($5,900)
Damion Lee was amazing on Christmas day as he finished the game with 22 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in just 31 minutes of action. The Warriors might have won that game, but Damion Lee was one of the biggest reasons for that. Yet, Golden State went away from him completely in the 4th quarter. That just goes to show you that Golden State has a ton of guys who can all get hot on any given night. A lot of people talk negatively about Lee, but that’s because they haven’t done their research. When Lee gets minutes, he is a fantasy beast. Obviously you can’t expect 15 rebounds on a nightly basis. However, he has recorded at least 5 rebounds in each of his last 5 outings. I won’t go all-in on Lee tonight, but I will definitely sprinkle him in there.
Kevin Huerter – DK: ($5,200)
Huerter has been quietly playing very well for the Hawks. He’s now seen 30+ minutes in each of his past four games. During that same span, Huerter racked up 27+ fantasy points in each of those four games. The Hawks have played Atlanta twice this season and both games were very competitive. Another positive sign for Huerter is that he’s attempted at least 7 three-point shots in each of the last four games. With John Collins on the floor, defenses will have to collapse on him which should leave plenty of open outside shots. That’s Huerter’s specialty. Look for him to have a floor of 26 fantasy points tonight on DraftKings.
Top SF Picks:
Giannis Antetokounmpo – DK: ($11,300)
Giannis had an underwhelming performance on Christmas day against Philly where he was held to just 8-27 from the field (29.6%). The positive takeaway here is the mere fact Giannis still hit 50 points on DraftKings despite having a HORRIBLE shooting night. Tonight he will take on Atlanta and they don’t have anyone defensively that can keep up with the Greek Freak. I do believe this game will be a competitive one considering Milwaukee is down Eric Bledsoe and Atlanta just got John Collins back. Look for Giannis to have a floor of 55 fantasy points on DraftKings.
Tobias Harris – DK: ($6,600)
Harris is in a great position tonight on DraftKings. His price is at it’s lowest point since the month of December began. Despite the price drop, he’s still recorded at least 34 points on DraftKings in each of his last three appearances. Earlier in the season Harris played Orlando and was able to put up 34 points on DraftKings. Overall, Harris is averaging 19.8 points per game through 33 games this season. Again, I mainly like this play because his price point has been dropping consistently over the past few weeks. I also expect Ben Simmons to come down to earth tonight and Harris will eat up some of that production.
TJ Warren – DK: ($5,800)
Warren popped off against Toronto in his last outing where he went for 24 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks in 41 minutes of action. Malcolm Brogdon sat out for this game and Warren took full advantage of it. Brogdon is still listed as questionable for tonight’s game which keeps Warren on my radar. I understand that he can be streaky, but as long as a the ball-dominant Brogdon sits out, I’ll be rolling with Warren. Keep an eye on this all the way up until tip-off. I will most likely be pivoting off him if Brogdon plays.
Top PF Picks:
Domantas Sabonis – DK: ($8,100)
Sabonis is having a career year as he’s currently averaging 17.8 points per game to go along with a whopping 13.5 rebounds per game. Tonight he will get a match-up against a Miami defense that is ranked 28th in the NBA against opposing PF’s. Sabonis has achieved a double-double in nine of his last ten games and the one game he failed was only by 1 rebound. Look for Sabonis to dominate the glass tonight on the defensive end. Also, his floor is right around 40 fantasy points tonight.
John Collins – DK: ($7,600)
John Collins wasted no time at all making his first NBA appearance in over a month. It was his first game back this season after facing a 25 game suspension but you wouldn’t have been able to guess that. Collins flashed his high ceiling in his first game back by dropping 27 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steal in 35 minutes of action. It’s very intriguing to see him getting heavy minutes right off the bat. I will look to take advantage of his lower price tonight before it rises back up. Look for Collins to have a floor of 35 fantasy points tonight.
Jonathon Isaac – DK: ($6,000)
Isaac filled out the stat sheet against Chicago in his last outing where he went for 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 3 blocks in 33 minutes of action. He is without a doubt Orlando’s best defensive player by a long shot. Isaac is currently averaging 2.4 blocks per game to go along with 1.4 steals. His one vice at times is his lack of contribution on the offensive end. Tonight he has a cheap price tag combined with a tougher match-up. Look for him to play 30+ minute sand have a floor of 30 fantasy points.
Top C Picks:
Bam Adebayo – DK: ($8,900)
Bam’s future in the NBA is extremely bright. He is a center but can shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense very well. He’s recorded at least 47 fantasy points in seven out of his last ten games for Miami. Arguably making him the most consistent all-around contributor on the Heat. However, that isn’t likely to remain that way as Jimmy Butler will obviously have his own monster games. Either way, Bam will take on Indiana tonight who is ranked 24th in the NBA against opposing C’s. Look for Adebayo to have a floor of 40 fantasy points tonight.
Steven Adams – DK: ($6,200)
People often don’t like it when you put Adams in your lineup or they say something along the lines of, “I’m not sure about him”. The guy’s price hasn’t even eclipsed $7,000 on DraftKings this month, yet he has recorded at least 33 points on DraftKings in seven out of his last ten games. Tonight he gets arguably one of his best match-ups on of the season. Charlotte has been getting beat down at the 5 all year as they are ranked 28th in the NBA against opposing C’s. Look for Adams to have a floor of 32 points on DraftKings tonight.
Willy Cauley Stein – DK: ($4,500)
This is my sleeper pick for the center position tonight. Willy has put up at least 23 fantasy points on DraftKings in each of his last 5 outings. More importantly, he saw 28 or more minutes in each of those games. If there was one thing holding Cauley-Stein back this season, it would be playing time. Cauley-Stein played against Phoenix once this season recorded 21.8 fantasy points in just 12 minutes. Since the beginning of the season, his minutes have been on the climb. So it’s fair to say he should play at least 24 minutes tonight. Ultimately making him a bargain for his price tag.
