Adam Strangis NBA DFS Yahoo Cash Plays 1/12
There are nine games tonight and a ton of options on Yahoo, but the field is already concentrating on a certain portion of players. The salaries on Yahoo are creating a very clear opportunity for cheap plays and then the ability to fit in whichever studs you’d like to play. Let’s dig into the slate and highlight some of the most popular plays in the NBA DFS Yahoo Cash Plays 1/12 to find the green screens again!

While it’s not a one-to-one translation because of the salaries, it’s still a great place to start. Yahoo has eight positions to fill with a $200 budget, different than any other site. Guard – Spencer Dinwiddie, Washington Wizards – $23
Dinwiddie is a fascinating player tonight and one that you basically have to lock into your cash games. No site really moved his salary enough with Bradley Beal still out for the Wizards and he went off last night, scoring 46.6 Yahoo points. He’s averaging 1.13 points per minute and has a 26.1% usage when Beal is off the floor. The catch with him is he played 34 minutes and this will be the first time Dinwiddie has been active for a full back-to-back. That is tough to gauge and there is some merit to fading in GPP, but cash is a much different discussion. The builds start with Dinwiddie as of 12:30 p.m. today.
Honorable Mention – Dejounte Murray, Cole Anthony
Forward – Lonnie Walker IV, San Antonio Spurs – $14
We’re going to want to get some San Antonio exposure tonight and two Spurs will not be out of line at this juncture. Walker’s salary is simply not high enough and he played 27 minutes in a blowout the other night. With the Rockets on tap, a blowout is always in play but the Spurs are missing players so the spread is just 6.5 points. Walker has the ability to score well over 30 Yahoo points and the Rockets are second in pace and dead last in defensive rating. Without the players the Spurs are missing tonight, Walker has a 28.9% usage rate (higher than Murray in the sample) and 0.93 points per minute despite a true shooting under 48%.
Honorable Mention – LeBron James, John Collins
Center – Hassan Whiteside, Utah Jazz – $21
After going nuclear in the last game, Whiteside is over $20 but he’s still not expensive enough and the Jazz is going to need him as much as possible to help combat the Cleveland frontcourt of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. One appealing aspect of this trio is it leaves $28 per slot for the other five players, which is a lot on Yahoo. If you can find one more value play, the other four slots can normally be studs and that’s going to get you across the cash line more often than not. Additionally, Whiteside has averaged 1.26 points per minute when Rudy Gobert has been out. Despite having a strong frontcourt, Cleveland is 14th in rebounds allowed in the paint although they do lead in points. Whiteside is still too cheap for the upside and even if he flops in cash, it’s not going to hurt you and the projected popularity.
