NBA DFS Top Targets for Saturday by J.Thomson

My NBA targets can be used in both cash games and GPP’s. The risky plays are to be used as GPP dart throws. I am using DraftKings salaries.

#1 TARGET: TRAE YOUNG (10,300)

On the season, he has a high usage rate (30%) and averages around 1.5 fantasy points per minute (FPPM). Earlier this season in a matchup versus Portland, he had 65 Draftkings points while playing 43 minutes. Trae is in a smash matchup versus the Trail Blazers terrible 27th ranked NBA defense. He can produce 65 fantasy points in this spot without even breaking a sweat. It would not surprise me to see Trae Young hit the 70 to 75 fantasy point mark.

#2 TARGET: C.J MCCOLLUM (9,200)

With Lillard out, he has a 1.25 FPPM, a monstroususage rate (34%), and a fantastic assist rate (31%). The past few Games, CJ hasbeen playing at an extremely high level and seeing massive minutes. In fourgames without Lillard, he has played 37, 43, 38, and 38 minutes. In those fourgames, he has produced 50, 76, 55, and 43 Draftkings points. This is the bestmatchup McCollum has seen without Dame. The Atlanta Hawks 28thranked NBA defense is atrocious. Earlier this season, even with Lillard on thecourt versus the Hawks, CJ played 42 minutes and produced 46 Draftkings points. This is a prime spot for him to go shot for shot with Trae Young in anextremely fast-paced NBA matchup. He could potentially go for 60 to 70 fantasypoints.

#3 TARGET: MARQUISE CHRISS (5,400)

Last game versus the Suns, he played31 minutes and produced 43 Draftkings points. The Warriors have no choice butto have Chriss on the floor to match up with Ayton’s size. He averages a littleover one FPPM, and Ayton is far from a good defender. Chriss should see 32 to34 minutes and have no problem producing a 40 plus fantasy point performanceversus the mediocre 17th ranked NBA defense of the Phoenix Suns.

#4 TARGET: LARRY NANCE JR (6,100)

Last nighthe only played 17 minutes, produced two points, five rebounds, and two assists.I’m expecting a big bounce-back game. Even with all of Cleveland’s big menhealthy, Nance still sees 26 to 28 minutes on average every night. With Kevin Loverarely playing back to back games this season, expect Nance to see 30 minutesor more in a great NBA matchup versus the Pacers that have been struggling todefend big men all year. If Nance sees 30 minutes, 40 plus fantasy points is anexcellent possibility.

#5 TARGET: DeMar DeRozan (7,600)

Last game with Aldridge off of thefloor, DeRozan played 34 minutes and produced 51 Draftkings points. With noAldridge, Demar has a high usage rate (32%), an excellent assist rate (27.6),and averages 1.3 FPPM. This is far from the most intriguing game on today’s NBAschedule and a tougher matchup for DeRozan, but it should be no problem for himto produce a 45-50 fantasy point game against the 8th ranked NBAdefense of the Orlando Magic.

Honorable Mention:

Aaron Gordon (8,500)

Deandre Ayton (8,400)

Jaylen Brown (6,900)

Carmelo Anthony (5,700)

Myles Turner (5,300)

Cam Reddish (4,300)

SLATE SUMMARY:

On today’s seven-game NBA DFS slate, I will be using a morebalanced approach for about 50% of my lineups. I will be using multiple playersin between the 8k and 4k range to build my balanced lineups. In the other 50%of my lineups, I will be using the stars and scrubs approach. I will be jammingboth Trae Young and C.J McCollum into those lineups and filling in the otherspots with different players from my player pool. Good luck today, and don’tforget to come back and WIN DAILY.
