NBA DFS: Core Four 9.8
There’s going to be two kinds of questionable players on this slate. The first kind is Giannis Antetokounmpo, who I would be surprised if he suits up. The second kind is the duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, which don’t seem in any danger of missing. I’m building this article as if Greek is out. He left Game 4 and was ruled out almost immediately. Even if he’s in, I can’t see him being effective. We’re almost pressed into liking Bucks on NBA DFS: Core Four 9.8 but that’s really not a bad thing since we continue to just get two game slates.
Khris Middleton
Coming off a 61 DK game, Middleton is at his highest price point of the playoffs but can’t be ignored if Greek is out. During the season, he was a 1.41 DKPM player and he should push 38-40 minutes. Overtime may have helped but we just saw his ceiling without Antetokounmpo on the floor and he’d be the chalk of the slate in the same scenario.
Eric Bledsoe
It’s basically the same story with Bledsoe. He’s a 1.40 DKPM player and both usages were over 31% during the regular season. They are Milwaukee’s offense and Bledsoe sports a 36.3% assist rate. It was comforting to see him reach 40 minutes and this is still an elimination game. Even 35 minutes should be plenty to pay this tag off and again, he’s chalk in this scenario.
Jae Crowder
Pricing is just getting tighter and tighter on this slate. Crowder has been over 50% lately every game and I expect this one to be no different. The veteran for the Heat sees a little over 30 minutes a game and with other pricing, he’s still a relative bargain. The fear is his three point stroke leaves him. In this series, 40 of his 42 field goal attempts have been beyond the arc. Let’s just keep the fingers crossed he stays hot.
Eric Gordon
Honorable Mention – Rajon Rondo
Much like Crowder, I’m not a giant fan of paying this much for someone scoring dependent. However, the way Russell Westbrook is playing right now Gordon needs to be the secondary scorer. Westbrook has shot just 14-39 so far and only put in a combined 34 points. Simply put, that won’t get it done vs LA. Gordon has been more consistent lately, scoring at least 20 real points in four of his last five. I’ll keep riding that wave.
Rest of the build
The next way to go is really up to you. This article could really have been the Core Five, because Rajon Rondo is still under $4,000 and is likely the chalkiest play on the slate. I’m happy to eat that because it allows me to get to a stud like AD or Bron. Even if you go that route, you can use other Bucks value like Donte DiVincenzo or George Hill. Center could be tricky if not using AD, but I’m happy to try use PJ Tucker in this scenario.
The other route could be less popular and include using Bam Adebayo and then riding a balanced lineup the rest of the way. Most will choose AD, Bron or maybe even James Harden so it’s a good route to take to be different.
Let’s get after it tonight my friends!
