In this column, I’ll highlight five NBA DFS 2/20 difference-makingplays in GPPs, from studs with a huge upside to value plays who could hit8x-10x.
These are risky plays who won’t always make the most sense for cash game builds, so buyer beware! We’ve got a six-game slate in the NBA in the return from the All-Star weekend festivities.

NBA DFS 2/20 — PG
De’Aaron Fox, SAC (vs. MEM) – DK $7,400
The price on Fox is the lowest it’s been in 14 games, and it’s coming in a pace-up game for the Kings that has a total of around 228. There’s reason to be optimistic about Fox hitting his 60-point DK ceiling and hitting 8x value in this game, which offers another exciting young PG in Ja Morant, who’s eminently affordable at $7,000 on DK. Stack away – and don’t forget the option of value guards like De’Anthony Melton at $4K if you think Morant is hitting the “rookie wall.” With the news that Kyrie Irving (shoulder) will remain out indefinitely, Spencer Dinwiddie (PG/SG/G/UTIL) makes for the obvious pivot.
Pivot/Stack: Spencer Dinwiddie/Ja Morant
NBA DFS 2/20 — SG
Jimmy Butler, MIA (@ ATL) – DK $7,900
Butler couldbe the sneaky GPP play tonight in an extremely favorable matchup against the Hawks. He’s got a solid floor and an 8x ceiling tonight, and the break gave him achance to get fresh and start hitting some threes. There’s always a case to bemade for spending all the way up for James Harden, but he could be a decent fadetoday with some of these bargain prices on other talented shooting guards.Buddy Hield makes sense as a pivot, and while I won’t be stacking the otherguards in MIA-ATL, Coby White has some value at $4,700 if he gets 30+ minutesin a smaller rotation for the Bulls.
Pivot/Value: Buddy Hield/Coby White
NBA DFS 2/20 — SF
Ben Simmons, PHI (vs. BKN) – DK $9,500
Simmons is another play for the fearless – but I understand if you’re scared off the price approaching $10K on DK. He’s eligible at PG/SF/G/F/UTIL on that site, and he’ll cut through the Nets defense in a game that just needs to stay close enough for Big Ben to play the fourth quarter. There’s a solid chance to stack up a section of the HOU-GSW game with Andrew Wiggins (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) in a heavy scoring role for the Warriors and Robert Covington in a great value spot for the Rockets. Covington probably won’t ever make 8x-10x, but he’s a near-lock for 5x-7x tonight.
Pivot/Value: Andrew Wiggins/Robert Covington
NBA DFS 2/20 — PF
Nemanja Bjelica, SAC (vs. MEM) – DK $5,900
The Kings have had a rough time this season keeping their bigs on the floor, and Bjelica will be playing center again in a game where he’ll see 35+ minutes and should do well in a pace-up game. He showed us a 54-point ceiling in 41 minutes against the T-Wolves in a Jan. 27 OT game, but even if he logs his usual minutes, there’s 7x upside tonight. Brandon Clarke could be a sneaky stacking option on the other side of this game, and there’s plenty of value at PF tonight in the Chicago-Charlotte game with Thaddeus Young and whoever is tonight’s PF of choice for the Hornets.
Pivot/Stack: Thaddeus Young/Brandon Clarke
NBA DFS 2/20 — C
Bam Adebayo, MIA (@ ATL) – DK $7,800
Bam had a monster weekend in Chicago, winning the Skills Challenge (without controversy) and he’s averaging 15.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists – statistical benchmarks only three other players in the league have achieved this season. With his confidence “through the roof right now,” according to Bam himself, there’s a case to be made that we haven’t seen his ceiling game in the NBA this season. If tonight’s that night, I want to be on board – especially considering how high his floor is. Marquese Chriss is a possible pivot option, but his price is the highest it has ever been and I prefer some of the PF/C value guys like Markieff Morris – or even ATL C Dwayne Dedmon if you’re not afraid of stacking up opposing centers (a classic NBA DFS faux pas).
