-Best Bets-
Game 1: Heat Vs. Nuggets
The Nuggets head into this game a little banged up as the have already ruled out Will Barton and Gary Harris. On top of the, Jamal Murray is currently listed as questionable as he’s been nursing a hamstring injury. Missing those players will naturally take away from the flow of Denver’s offense. On the other side of things, Miami comes into this one with one of the more healthy rotations in the NBA and will be looking to pick up where they left off in March. They are currently sitting at 4th in the eastern conference.
Normally I’d roll with the Denver ML in this scenario. However, I’m focused more on the points in this one due to Denver’s injuries. In four of the last five games between these two teams the under has been the final result. They played once earlier in the season and the final score was 89-109 as the Nuggets won easily. Both Denver and Miami rank in the top 11 in the NBA in opponent points allowed per game.
The Pick: Under 210.5 Combined Points
Game 2: Thunder Vs. Jazz
The Thunder open up their NBA restart late this afternoon against Utah which should be a highly competitive game. Utah narrowly escaped the Pelicans in their opening game with a two point victory. When the shut-down took place, the Thunder were on an 8-2 run and were effectively 1 game behind Houston for the 5th spot in the NBA western conference. (Just two behind OKC).
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Thunder are favored to win this game. These teams played each other twice before the shut-down and the regular season series is tied at 1-1. The most interesting numbers that I could find was the OKC has covered the spread against Utah in seven of its last eight games. OKC is currently listed as -2 for today’s action. with that being the case, I feel most comfortable rolling with the OKC ML.
Game 3: Pelicans VS. Clippers
The Clippers lost their first game of the restart by two points in a tough game against the Lakers. However, they were without Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell which made things a lot more difficult on them. Both of those guys are set to miss tonights action once again. On the other side of the ball, New Orleans will only be missing Darius Miller which isn’t the end of the world for them.
These two teams played three times before the shut-down and were averaging a ridiculous 255 combined points per game. Tonight the total line is set at 229 points which I see as an exploit. These are two very high octane offense with a plethora of scoring options. New Orleans plays at such a fast PACE that this game will naturally have more scoring. I’m siding with the points in this game.
The Pick: OVER 229 Combined Points
Game 4: PHI @ IND
The situation for Indiana right now isn’t pretty as they will begin the restart without Domantas Sabonis as he’s injured. On top of that, Malcolm Brogdon and Victor Oladipo both have statuses that are up in the air at the moment. With that being the case, Philadelphia has garnered my attention for tonight.
On DraftKings Sportsbook the spread is listed at (-5) for Philadelphia and I am putting my money there. This may not be the most popular opinion but Indiana is not the same without Sabonis on both ends of the floor. Going off that, if either Brogdon or Oladipo sit out too it will be extremely tough for Indiana to keep this one a single digit game.
The Pick: 76’ers Spread (-5)
