Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for the Xfinity Series. Below are my thoughts on the drivers in this race and who will be in my player pool. I categorize them by Top Priority, Value, GPP, and Place Differential plats.
(Starting position in parenthesis)
NASCAR DFS Top Priority Plays
Austin Hill (2) – $10.5K: Austin Hill is the dominant driver at the new Atlanta. Usually, we fade drivers starting at the front of these races, but not Hill. In the 6 races here after the configuration, Hill has won 4 times and finished 2nd and a dismal 12th in the 6th. Hill has started inside the top 5 in four of his wins and has led an impressive 218 laps in all 6 races combined.
Aric Almirola (16) – $10K: Almirola is a good superspeedway racer if he can avoid the carnage. This week Almirola is back in the Joe Gibbs #19 car where he had some success last year. There is some solid upside with Almirola starting from P16 and I expect a top 10 finish with win upside.
Sheldon Creed (17) – $9.5K: Creed is the perennial first loser in the Xfinity Series. While he has never won a race in the series, Creed has come close so many times finishing 2nd 13 times. I don’t think Creed wins this week, but he has a fast Ford Mustang and should be a contender for a top 5 on Saturday.
Matt DiBenedetto (30) – $6.9K: I don’t have any flashy stats or great things to say about Matty D. DiBenedetto is a good driver who, if he can avoid the carnage, presents as a great PD play at lower ownership than I expected (Proj% at 29%).
