Driver Notes:
Some really quick notes for today’s race. Byron is my pick to win, with Larson, Truex, Hamlin, and Reddick rounding out my top 5 picks to win. Erik Jones is returning from a back injury suffered a couple of weeks back, but he seemed just fine after practice and qualifying on Saturday. Darlington is one of Jones’ best tracks and even though his team has not been great this year, it’s hard to ignore the upside of a potential top 15 car. I believe we will need two dominators for this race on Sunday paired with at least 2 place differential plays to score well. Lastly, I ran out of room, but don’t sleep on Ty Gibbs today. Gibbs has a fast Toyota, like his teammates, but just starts a little too high (P4) than others in his price range. I can definitely see him hanging around, leading some laps, and finishing top 5 on Sunday.
