NASCAR DFS Pit Stop: Cup Series from Kansas 10/18/20

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Sunday’s race from Kansas Speedway! This is the second time the Cup Series has been at Kansas this season, Denny Hamlin ($10,600) took the checkered flag, his second Kansas victory in a row. Hamlin is once again a favorite to win this race and he offers minimal place differential starting from P7. There is a ton of great plays in the top price tier this week so we will need to find some value plays to match up with the top tier.

NASCAR DFS: Dominators

Chase Elliott ($11,200)

Starting Position: 1st

Elliott is starting on the pole this week after his victory last week and is a potential dominator for this race. In his last 6 races at Kansas, Elliott has four top 5 finishes. Elliott is one of my favorite plays in this tier for GPP’s. With him starting on the pole and as the highest priced option he should be lower owned.

Kevin Harvick ($10,400)

Starting Position: 4th

Harvick has dominated mile and a half tracks this season and this race should not be any different. Since 2016 (9 races), Harvick has five top 5 finishes and has led 389 laps (43.2 avg per race). Harvick is my pick to win this race for what its worth.

Kyle Busch ($9,900)

Starting Position: 20th

Kyle Busch is still looking for his first victory in 2020 but I don’t think it happens today. Even though I don’t think he wins this race, Kyle offers up some really good place differential today. Busch is my favorite play today for his price and could end up with the highest score today.

Other Options: Martin Truex Jr. ($11,000), Denny Hamlin ($10,600), Ryan Blaney ($9,700)

NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier

Erik Jones ($8,400)

Starting Position: 11th

Jones is quietly one of the hottest drivers in all of NASCAR right now and nobody seems to know it. In his last 6 races, Jones has four top 5 finishes and five top 10’s. Jones probably won’t dominate this race, but he is a decent salary saving option off the top tier and offers some decent place differential today.

Matt DiBenedetto ($7,700)

Starting Position: 18th

Matty D has been running towards the front a lot recently and has been in position to win races but just couldn’t get it done. I love the upside and his ability to push his car to try and get up front every week of late. DiBenedetto could be low owned because of his recent finishes but for GPP’s he is my favorite play in this tier.

Other Options: Alex Bowman ($8,600 – GPP only), Aric Almirola ($8,000), Tyler Reddick ($7,800), Austin Dillon($7,500 – TOO cheap)

NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings

1. Ryan Newman – $6,500 – P28 : 5 top 20’s in his last 7 1.5 mile races
2. Matt Kenseth – $6,600 – P30 : Good at 1.5 mile tracks this season
3. John Hunter Nemechek – $6,100 – P32 : Top PD play in this tier
4. Chris Buescher – $6,700 – P21 : GPP upside
5. Corey Lajoie – $5,400 – P29 : May be the 2nd best PD upside in this tier
6. Michael McDowell – $5,700 – P26 : Tend to stay clean at 1.5’s, PD upside
7. Christopher Bell – $7,200 – P22 : Decent upside for GPP’s
8. Brennan Poole – $4,700 – P35 : Has finished top 30 in his last 3 1.5 starts
