Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Saturday night’s Cup Series from Bristol Motor Speedway. Saturday night we have 500 laps of Cup series action which will lead to some huge totals for a few drivers potentially. We have 375 dominator points in this race. In the Spring race here at Bristol, Brad Keselowski ($11,200) stole the win when Chase Elliott ($10,700) and Joey Logano ($9,700) wrecked on the last lap. There were three drivers who led over 100 laps in this race (Keselowski, Kyle Busch, and Hamlin) and Elliott led 88 laps. I think we see similar totals on Saturday.
NASCAR DFS: Dominators
Both Denny Hamlin ($12,000) and Kevin Harvick ($11,600) are in play, but I think there are better options in this tier. If you are playing one, I would go Hamlin over Harvick.
Brad Keselowski ($11,200)
Starting Position: 1st
Keselowski won this race earlier this year like I mentioned, and has finished top 3 in the last two races here. In those two races Keselowski has led over 200 laps and will most likely get the early lead on Saturday night. I like Keselowski as GPP pivot off Harvick and Hamlin.
Kyle Busch ($10,400)
Starting Position: 9th
Kyle Busch has basically owned Bristol over the last 6 races here. Busch has three wins, and five top 5’s in the last 6 here. During this 6 race stretch, Busch has also led 474 laps. I know a lot of people are still tentative about playing Busch because of the season he is having, and I get that, but I will be loading up on him Saturday night.
Other Options: Chase Elliott ($10,700)
NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier
Erik Jones ($9,400)
Starting Position: 20th
Jones has three top 5 finishes here in his career and finished 5th in the spring Bristol race this season. I think Jones offers the best place differential upside in this tier on Saturday and he is also racing for a job next season. Jones is a dark horse candidate to steal the win on Saturday, depending on his teams pit strategy.
Clint Bowyer ($8,400)
Starting Position: 11th
Since 2015 (11 races) Clint Bowyer has been one of the best drivers at Bristol. Bowyer has eight top 10 finishes and three top 5’s and has only finished lower than 12th twice in this same time span. Bowyer is almost a lock to finish in the top 10 on Saturday and coming of a 2nd place finish here earlier this season a top 5 is not out of the question.
Other Options: Kurt Busch ($9,100), Jimmie Johnson ($8,600), William Byron ($7,900), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($7,600)
NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings
- Michael McDowell – $5,900 – P26
- Ryan Newman – $7,300 – P25
- John Hunter Nemechek – $6,400 – P31
- Ty Dillon – $6,100 – P28
- Cole Custer – $6,900 -P12
- Daniel Suarez – $5,400 – P29
- Corey Lajoie – $5,500 – P30
- Gray Gaulding – $5,100 – P37
