Welcome to another Monday night football DFS preview article. I will be covering value and punt plays, favorite stacks, and my contrarian play of the game. So who is ready for some Monday night action between the Saints and Colts? All prices discussed are via DraftKings in their Monday Night Football DFS Showdown Contest.
Monday Night Football DFS – Value and Punt Plays
Before the return of Parris Campbell to the lineup in Week 14 Ashton Dulin ($400) ran the fourth-most routes on the team in Week 13. In Week 14, the script changed slightly with more routes going the way of Chad Williams ($200). Both are extremely cheap Colts’ wide receivers and with them, in a projected negative game script they should see targets if T.Y. Hilton misses the game. The Saints have also allowed the fourth-most red zone touches to the tight end position so Mo Alie-Cox ($400) is an interesting punt play option. Tre’Quan Smith ($3,000) has a touchdown reception in three of the four home games that Drew Brees has started this season. The Colts have allowed the most fantasy points to the wide receiver position over the past four weeks.
Monday Night Football DFS – Favorite Stacks
Drew Brees ($12,000) at home combined with Michael Thomas ($12,600) just seems too easy of a core to build around. Brees is averaging 26.9 fantasy points per game at home. Thomas is averaging 30.3 fantasy points per game at home. Will Lutz ($4,000) should also be considered a part of a Saints’ stack has he has scored over 10 fantasy points in five straight games. And even though he has been struggling to find the end zone Alvin Kamara ($9,800) is still seeing 15-plus touches per game so he is one of my favorites outside of Thomas in the captain’s spot.
Monday Night Football DFS – Contrarian Plays
Go heavy on Marlon Mack ($7,800) and Colts DST ($2,600). Over the past four weeks, the Saints have allowed the seventh-most fantasy points to the running back position. The Saints are dealing with a plethora of injuries on the defensive side of the ball and the only way the Colts can win this game is through running the football.
