Welcome to the Sunday Father’s Day (and Juneteenth!) edition of the Stack City, where I’ll be going through the top MLB DFS Stacks on DraftKings and Fanduel.
The main slate today on both FanDuel and DraftKings starts at 1:35 PM EST, with FD adding to DK’s eight-game slate by including the SDP-COL game in Coors Field. The 4:07 PM EST late slate has four games and is identical on both DK and FD.
We should once again peruse Adam’s Starting Rotation article as our first order of business to help decide on arms, for the early and main slates.
Now it’s time to get to the stacks and build that bankroll!
MLB DFS Hitter Stacks – Main Slate
New York Yankees vs. Yusei Kikuchi
It’s just bad timing that Kikuchi has thrown his cutter so much less this season, because the only Yankee hitters with a clear advantage facing that pitch are D.J. LeMahieu and Giancarlo Stanton — the latter of which has actually struggled a bit facing Kikuchi so far in his short same 1-for-10 career number.
The Yankees hit LHP very well, so I’m starting out my stacks with Gleyber Torres and Aaron Judge, who is coming off an uncharacteristic 0-for-5 performance against the Jays yesterday. Torres is a new dad and wants to do well today. Rounding out the stack with be shares of Stanton, LeMahieu, Aaron Hicks (if he gets the start again) and Jose Trevino, who is just $3K on DK and has absolutely raked LHPs this season to the tune of a .480 wOBA and .300 ISO. It looks like Kyle Higashioka will get the start behind the plate today for the Bombers, and is very much in play.
The Yankees might not be as popular today on FD with the Coors game in the same slate and some of team totals in the same range of around 5 projected runs, but I’m loving them for GPPs on both sites.
Atlanta Braves vs. Kyle Hendricks
The Braves don’t seem to have much trouble with Kyle Hendricks, and this is obviously one of the games where weather could play a significant role in terms of the prevailing winds around game time.
I’m interested in exposure to just about anyone and everyone in this Braves lineup but will focus my builds around Ronald Acuna, Austin Riley, Dansby Swanson, Matt Olson and Marcell Ozuna (11-27 with 3 HR in his career vs. Hendricks). I’ll also look at William Contreras if he gets the start over Travis d’Arnaud and Orlando Arcia, who has decent career numbers vs. Hendricks and smashes RHPs.
I’d be willing to shift more exposure to these Braves if we find out the winds are blowing out toward Waveland come game time in Wrigley.
Texas Rangers vs. Drew Hutchison
The Rangers were somewhat disappointing yesterday in what seemed like a good spot vs. Rony Garcia, but they did end up scoring seen runs of their own in the 14-7 loss to Detroit. And they got themselves in a better place for today’s matchup against the kind-of-terrible Hutchison with the late-game surge.
The Tigers RHP simply walks too many guys and this Rangers lineup can make him pay with some longball proficiency from Adolis Garca, Corey Seager, Ezequiel Duran and Nate Lowe. Add some shares of Jonah Heim and Kole Calhoun and you’ve got the recipe for a full stack against Hutchison and his 4.58 ERA and 5.50 xFIP.
FD Special: San Diego Padres vs. Antonio Senzetela (with Coors full game stack options)
I’m focusing my SDP builds around the 1-4 hitters (Jurickson Profar, Jake Cronenworth, Manny Machado and Luke Voit). Getting these guys (and possibly some exposure to Nomar Mazara) should allow you to pick a few Rockies among Connor Joe, C.J. Cron, Randal Grichuk, Yonathan Daza and Brendan Rogers — all guys who fare well against LHP and should be able to get to Blake Snell.
MLB DFS Main Slate Summary
Also consider one-offs and mini-stacks from:
Milwaukee Brewers RHBs (Hunter Renfroe/Willy Adames, Luis Urias) vs. Mike Minor
Tampa Bay Rays LHBs including Ji-Man Choi, Kevin Kiermaier and Taylor Walls. RHB options include Isaac Paredes and Yandy Diaz
San Francisco Giants 1-5 hitters and Brandon Crawford vs. Mitch Keller
MLB DFS Late Slate Summary
On DK, it’s all about stacking Coors and getting the pitchers right, and on FD I’ll build most of my stacks around the Royals vs. Jared Koenig and select hitters from the MIN-ARI game, including Luis Arraez, Byron Buston and Max Kepler for the Twins and Daulton Varsho, Ketel Marte, Josh Rojas and David Peralta for Arizona.
Good luck and Happy Father’s Day today, and remember to show us your green screens in Discord!
