Houston Open Projected Ownership

Houston Open Projected Ownership

Greetings from Texas, home of the Houston Open (and our Houston Open Projected Ownership), this weeks golf offering before the trip to golf’s holy Mecca, Augusta and The Masters next week.

Some news and notes concerning the Houston Open: Last night in the live stream with Michael, Sia and Joel, they mentioned how irons on approach would be key in the 150-200 range, after a practice round today Dustin Johnson was quoted as saying, “I’m expecting this course to play long (mid-long irons) and for it to be fairly difficult this week with a lot less emphasis on wedge play.” Either Dustin was listening to the live stream, or our guys nailed it last night. Good job guys. There is a lot of chatter that the course is set up like the masters, my concern is why would they do that if the vast majority of this field isn’t even invited ? It doesn’t meet true scrutiny so figure it as just that, …chatter. Also, there is  a lot of buzz about Brooks Koepka helping design this course and having intimate knowledge of the quirks of the course, he was a consultant, which means he either spent time on some aspects of the course, or lent his name for purposes of investors coming in and didn’t spend a lot of time with it. He has been in Houston for a week, he has practiced a few more times than the field, keep in mind he has only played once in the last couple of months and he has a knee injury he’s dealing with. My best guess is that he is here for a tune up to the Masters, he is shaking off some rust, and he is still not whole due to injury, proceed on rostering him with caution. This tournament is an excellent opportunity to make money to have on hand for that tourney in Georgia next week, one key aspect of making money is to have your players ownership % to help set your rosters, with that, let’s look at The Houston Open ownership projections.

Houston Open Final  Ownership Projections

The top ownership belongs to Dustin Johnson, he is at 25.8%+ right now,  it could reach 30% by lock, he mentioned that he didn’t pick up any clubs for eleven days while recovering from covid, he just lay around playing video, and doing nothing, he started hitting balls again late last week, so you have a very high owned player who honed his skills at Halo 4 for 11 days, and decided to hit a few range balls late last week, he is the most expensive on the slate as well. I may have him in one lineup or I’m just going to pass on him for this week, if he beats me, so be it, but I doubt it. Next is Russel Henley at 22.7%, I like his game but dislike that ownership, pass.  Tyrell Hatton is third with 21.9%, I will have shares of him, he’s too damn good right now. Scottie Scheffler is next at 18.2 %, I will have a few shares of him. Next is Hideki Matsuyama at 16.6%, Tony Finau is 16.2%, I’ll have some shares of Tony, Victor Hovland is 16%, Sia likes him, he’s from Texas, he is a popular play, Sungjae IM is 15.5% and I will definitely have shares of him, next is Doc Redman at 15.4%, I like him, Denny “Putts” McCarthy is 12.9%, Cameron Davis is 12.7%, at 8100 he is a value, Si Woo Kim is 12.6%, Lanto Griffin is 12.4% and his game is good,Adam Scott and  Zach Johnson are 11.7%, Eric Van Rooyen is 11.2%, Sam Burns is 10% and a value play.

Golfers Under 10% Ownership

Brooks Koepka and Sergio Garcia are 9.8%, Adam Schenk is 9% and a cut maker, James Hahn is 8.9% and on fire now, Harold Varner is 8.7% and an industry favorite, Stewart Cink is 8.5%, Sia likes him, Talor Gooch is 8.4%, Wyndham Clark is 8.2%, Corey Conners is 8%, Dylan Frittelli is 7.4%, Scott Piercy and Brian Harmon are 7%, Sepp Straka is 6.9% and I like him again, Matthew NeSmith, Kevin Streelman and Alex Noren are 6.7%, Martin Laird is 6.4%, Jason Day is 6%, JT Poston is 5.9%, a sleeper, Matt Jones, Emiliano Grillo, and Shane Lowry are 5.7%, Keegan Bradley and Aaron Wise are 5.6%, Luke List and Will Gordon are 5.4%, Beau Hossler and Kristoffer Ventura are 5.2%,

Golfers Under 5% Ownership

Jordan Spieth is 4.9%, on ownership alone he’s worth a flyer, which also defines his tee shots, they are flyers as well, to the right, to the left, I hope his game returns, Ollie Schniederjans is 4.8%, Lee Westwood and Carlos Ortiz are 4.6%, Cameron Tringale is 4.5%, Maverick McNealy and Mackenzie Hughes are 4.4%, Scott Stallings and Russell Knox are 4.2%, Max Homa and Lucas Glover are 3.8%, Charley Hoffman and Rory Sabbatini are 3.7%, Mark Hubbard is 3.4%, Tom Hoge is 3.3%, Robby Shelton and John Huh are 3.1%, Austin Cook is 2.8%, heh heh heh, Brandt Snedeker is 2.6%, Henrik Stenson, Brian Gay, Jhonattan Vegas, Xinjun Zhang, and Tyler Duncan are 2.5%, Adam Long, Francesco Molinari and Henrik Norlander are 2.3%, Keith Mitchell is 2.1%, Charl Schwartz’s is 2.0%.

Golfers Under 2% Ownership

Pat Perez, Jason’s favorite golfer,(kidding) is 1.9%, Jason Dufner and Padraig Harrington are 1.7%, Phil Mickelson is 1.5%, he allegedly was wandering around the course asking the golfers, “Are you a senior ?, is this the right town ?”Can I just collect my geezer trophy and leave ?” Patrick Rodgers is 1.3%, Justin Harding is 1.2%, Kevin Chappell is 1.1%, Andrew Landry, Danny Willett, Tom Lewis and Chris Kirk are all at 1%.
All other golfers at the time of this report are under 1% ownership.

My Picks for The Houston Open

In the top tier I’m going with Tyrell Hatton (10,300) and I’ll have a few of Tony Finau, as well as mix and match depending on roster construction.

I’m also rostering Sungjae IM (9300) and Doc Redman (8800)

For value I like Cameron Davis (8100) and James Hahn (8000) even with the weaker field at their salary their game gives you good value.

In the lower tier I like Sam Burns (7500), and Sepp Straka (7000) to make value and offer salary relief.  Honorable mention goes to J.T. Poston (7500)

My out in left field play is  Austin Cook (6900) he is owned by 2.8% of the field, he was contending several weeks ago, and his game says he still can.

Sia will unleash his monster secret weapon play in Discord later tonight, you don’t want to miss a pick that is holding at 90% after 20 tries. It’s hit 9 out of 10 times, twice. Do not miss Sia’s Secret Weapon !!! WAIT! IT’S HERE! Sia’s Secret Weapon is also Austin Cook (!!), we both have him as a low owned, less than 7 K value + for this week, give him a shot on your teams!

Guys, thanks for reviewing my Houston Open Projected Ownership, we do appreciate it, I’ll be in Discord to help with rosters, players, construction, and optimal ownership builds. Please review the other articles by Sia, Isaiah, Antonio, and next week we will have Patrick “Sharps” Scott back for the Masters. He has allegedly been promoting a new game called Where’s Morikawa, based on the Where’s Waldo franchise, sales are uh, booming, especially in the areas where his relatives live.

As always, I hope to be with you, in the money.
