Team Breakdowns
Red Bull
Red Bull faced a multitude of issues in practice sessions and unfortunately in qualifying. It’s still the class of the field as Max Verstappen ($15800) showed his pace whenever he had space to run. Sergio Perez ($10,400) complained about a lack of front end and ended up spinning putting him down the grid order. With neither driver starting in the top 10, it will make it hard for the field to click on their names, I would advise you not to do that. The car has been the class of the field all year so having exposure is strongly advised.
Red Bull ($14,800) has averaged 56 dk points over the last 3 races and has been the highest-scoring “player” in F1 DFS.
McLaren
With Piastri ($7800) starting far down at P17, typically I like any car whose teammate is starting in the top 5, but Piastri has not shown much during the practice sessions. His teammate, Lando Norris ($9000), however, is a strong contender for a race win on Sunday. Not so much in a single entry, but definitely in GPPs.
McLaren has averaged 18.6 dk points over the last 3.
Mercedes
With George Russell ($8200) just a few tenths off pole position, I like the Mercedes ($9300) chance to get a win here. Red Bull should be expected to move through the field and Ferrari looks poised to remain in the top 5, but if those two things don’t happen Mercedes and George Russell have every opportunity to take advantage. Lewis Hamilton ($9200) was looked off compared to his teammate George and the Ferraris. It’s worthy of a sprinkle but not a tremendous amount.
Mercedes has averaged 29.6 dk points over the last 3 races.
Aston Martin
Fernando Alonso ($8600) should easily get his 5 defeat teammate points plus a top 10 finish, outside of that it’s tough to see Alonso finish in the top 5 here at Singapore. Lance Stroll ($5000) starts 20th after crashing in qualifying. Lance is a bad driver, however, he is a great shot for place differential on Sunday.
Aston has scored 17.3 dk points over the last 3 races.
Ferrari
With Red Bull looking like a midfield team on this track, the scarlet screamer will have every advantage to take a race win away from Red Bull. Carlos Sainz ($7400) defended his position well against teammate Charles Leclerc ($7600) in Italy and set off from Singapore in pole position. Carlos’s driving style takes to this track very well so I’d advise having some. I will be heavy on Sainz. Do not forget a sprinkle of teammate Charles Leclerc as well.
Pair Carlos with Ferrari ($7600)
Alfa Romeo
The inconsistency of Alfa continues to plague their 2023 season. Valtteri Bottas ($4400) has scored an average of 7.8 dk points per race in the last 3, compared to Zhou’s ($3200) 0.67 dkfp. While Bottas’s consistency over Zhou is promising for 5 points, his ceiling is capped due to the limitations of the Alfa Romeo.
Alfa Romeo has averaged 1.7 dk points over the last 3 races.
Alpine
No fan of Alpine, ill try to avoid playing either especially in single entries or cash games.
Alpine has averaged 9.7 dk points over the last 3 races.
Williams
Williams is clearly off the pace here in Singapore making Alex Albon too expensive at ($6000). Logan Sargent ($3400) tends to only gain a spot or 2 making Logan Sargent a low upside play, but at $3400 he’s not an outright no.
Williams ($3500) has averaged 2.7 DK points over the last 3 races.
Alpha Tauri
Yuki Tsunoda ($4200) is volatile averaging 3 dkfp over his last 3. His teammate, Liam Lawson ($4000) qualified 10th and has gotten the best of Tsunoda, beating him in 2 of 3 races (Yuki did have a mechanical DNF last race though). Having scored an average of 7.5 dkfp during this time frame, Liam is firmly in my player pool.
AlphaTauri has averaged 1.7 dk points over the last 3 races.
Haas
With Kevin Magnussen ($3200) 3.7 dkfp over the last 3 races and Nico Hulkenberg ($3600) 3.3 dkfp over their last 3 races, starting the Singapore GP in the top 10, it’s difficult to split the Haas drivers. Neither is a priority as the Haas still struggle with overcooking their tires, so make sure you don’t play them in the same lineup. If playing multiple lineups mix and match between the two for value plays.
Advice:
I fully expect the Red Bull driver to get through the field and if they do, who you have around them is going to be paramount. Ferrari is the team to beat so play them like that. A Ferrari stack with George Russell will probably be very popular so play it with and without Max Verstappen to get different but not outlandish.
