Formula 1 Race Week for the Belgium Grand Prix

Team Breakdowns

Red Bull

Up top it’s Max Verstappen’s ($15000) race to lose. He continues to be the class of the field and until that changes, he should be featured in a majority of your DraftKings lineups. Max starts off the pole this race so he should even score some extra points overtaking his competition.

Sergio Perez ($10,400)  has had to pass a good amount of cars in the past 3 races, and that’s the only appeal to him lately. Unfortunately, or fortunately, however, you want to look at it, Sergio qualified in P2. Hence, his upside is pretty limited as Max should be able to overtake him after a few laps. Red Bull ($13,900) also remains the car of the field.

McLaren

McLaren ($9300) has proven they are the second-best team over the past few races with rookie Oscar Piastri ($8400) getting the better of his McLaren compared to teammate Lando Norris ($10,200). I’d strongly suggest continuing the McLaren love and getting a ton of both Lando and Oscar, in separate lineups. McLaren also has some equity in the value constructor position.

Mercedes

Mercedes ($9100) is very similar to the Ferrari as neither George Russell ($7600) nor Lewis Hamilton ($9600) are significant priorities for DFS, Lewis has gotten a better hold of his Merc so expecting him to beat his teammate should not be a far off expectation.

Aston Martin

Aston Martin ($6700), what has happened there?! They looked like they couldn’t miss to start the year but lately, the field has passed them by. I would not want much of any in my lineups and would keep Alonso over Stroll, but it isn’t much to commit to.

Ferrari

Ferrari ($8500) is pretty much locked into the 3rd best car on the grid. While Charles Leclerc ($8800) starts from “pole” tomorrow he will have to challenge Sergio Perez to maintain the lead, all while the Red Bull of Max Verstappen will be lurking not far behind—a tall task for Charles. The Ferraris have been pretty even all weekend which makes Charles Leclerc nor teammate Carlos Sainz ($7000) genuinely appealing. If you are playing multiple lineups it would behoove you to play some Ferrari, I suggest Charles over Carlos, but I’d play them sparingly.

Alfa Romeo

Bottas ($4800) over Zhou.

Alpine

Alpine ($4300) has had an odd past couple of races, they double DNF’d last weekend and hadn’t looked like they were interested in racing…up until they got to Belgium. Alpine is losing some top brass in the management team but they have come to play this weekend. During Saturday’s sprint shootout, Alpine was the fastest in a straight line which should bode well for them in the race, they have burned the field as well too the last few races which makes them a pure gpp team.

Williams

Albon over Logan

Alpha Tauri

Danny Ric seems to be better in race pace but might have started too far back with the same level of competition around him.

Advice:

Drivers I’ll be heavy on: Oscar Piastri has been good the past few races, I’ll roll with him until it burns me.

Team Red Bull is fantastic for constructor, they are the best

Willaims moved up, makes me like Albon

Danny Ric seems to be better in race pace but might have started too far back with the same level of competition around him.

Teams to be light on:

Haas and Alfa are the two worst teams, Tsunoda too

Bottas over Zhou.

Alb

Bot

Mag in that order for value

Aston Martin falling back

Zhou is a full second off his teammate

There is not much between Williams and Haas, make sure to have exposure to each driver if playing multiple lineups and needing value.

As always if you want to chop up some plays, @tcuz86 in the Discord. I appreciate you taking the time to read this edition of Formula 1: Race Week, Belgium GP.
