BLANCHFIELD V FIOROT
We are just two weeks away from the highly anticipated UFC 300 card, but first, the UFC has stopped in Atlantic City for some fight-night action! The card will feature 14 fights, with some great matchups throughout, and will end with a women’s flyweight bout between two women who are looking to spring into the title picture. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 7:00 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is highly recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event. These fighters are usually both active, and they can rack up a lot of points. There will be four top plays followed by best bets. Now, let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight, I’m here to give you my top four favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ESPN 54 Blanchfield vs Fiorot.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH & GPP):
Andrei Petroski v Jacob Malkoun
Honestly, I think Malkoun is a fraud. He is in the UFC due in large part to his training partner Robert Whittaker and has not found a ton of success throughout his time in the octagon. He did prove me wrong when he beat Nick Maximov, who was released from the UFC following that fight and has not fought since, but since then, Malkoun lost as a -600 favorite when he started hitting his opponent in the back of the head and got DQ’d. Malkoun is in a much tougher fight tonight against Andrei Petroski, who has won five of his last six fights, including one against Nick Maximov, the only fighter Malkoun has beaten in the last two years.
Petroski, to his credit, is a better grappler and takedown defender than Malkoun. Both these fighters are very well-versed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I think we will see some impressive and high-level grappling exchanges on the ground, with Petroski getting the better of those exchanges, ultimately leading to a decision win.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Andrei Petroski UNANIMOUS DECISION
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Bruno Silva vs Chris Weidman
Both of these fighters have had tough results against strong competition, going 1 in 5 over their last five UFC fights. However, there are some key differences between them beyond their last five fight results. First, Weidman is about five years older than Silva, who is almost 40 years old. His reaction time will be slower, and his strength and power are not at the level they used to be at. Weidman has also gone through a traumatic leg injury, which kept him out of the Octagon for over two years. He lost every round in a decision loss to Brad Tavares. Just two months prior to Tavares’ win over Weidman, he was knocked out by Bruno Silva.
Despite not seeing a lot of success in recent fights against top talent, Silva has been way more active than Weidman, with three fights in 2023 alone. I think if this fight happened five or six years ago, we’d be seeing a much closer and more competitive matchup. However, Weidman is not the fighter he used to be and will struggle a lot in tonight’s matchup against Bruno Silva.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Bruno Silva by SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Ibo Aslan vs Anton Turkalj
On paper, this fight would seem like a cakewalk for Aslan; he’s a 12-1-0 fighter making his UFC debut after a first-round KO on the Contender Series last year against a fighter who has lost his last three UFC fights and is most likely on his way out of the organization with a loss here tonight. The caveat is that the one loss on Aslan’s record was a submission loss to Turkalj. Given that history, the odds makers have kept the odds on this fight very close. However, I think Aslan’s game has evolved a lot since his first fight with Turkalj and that this will be the perfect opportunity to avenge the loss from back in 2020.
Alsan is a lot stronger than Turkalj, and I can see him winning this fight by knockout after putting intense pressure on Turkalj throughout the fight.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Ibo Aslan SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY MAIN EVENT PREDICTION (CASH & GPP):
Erin Blanchfield vs Manon Fiorot
Blanchfield’s talent has always been impressive throughout her UFC career. When we just started, she was running through the competition in the flyweight division with impressive technical striking and a killer ground game. In her last five fights alone she has three submission wins against top UFC talent.
Fiorot has had similar success against some of the UFC’s top talent; however, She has not fought someone with Blanchfield’s skill level. This will be an exciting fight to watch as Fiorot prioritizes heavy strikes with a lot of pressure while Blanchfield is more technical and picks her moments. Ultimately, I think Blanchfield’s Fight IQ will shine through and will lead to a decision win to cap off tonight’s card.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Erin Blanchfield UNANIMOUS DECISION (possible FOURTH-ROUND SUBMISSION)
SUMMARY:
On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I am finally allowed to bet again on UFC as restrictions have now been lifted in my area. As such, I will play the Parlay of the Day. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK, and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
