SANDHAGEN V NURMAGOMEDOV
After the wild action across the pond last week, we are off to Abu Dhabi for an early UFC card featuring some of the UFC’s top global talents including the much anticipated return of Shara Bullet! Tonight, we have 13 action-packed fights, with two fighters looking to make a push towards a UFC Bantamweight title shot. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 12:00 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is highly recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event. These fighters are usually both active, and they can rack up a lot of points. There will be four top plays followed by best bets. Now, let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight, I’m here to give you my top four favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC on ABC 7 Sandhagen vs Nurmagomedov.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH & GPP):
Jordan Vucenic vs Guram Kutateladze
This one is a tough fight to call, but despite his strong start, Guram has simply not been the same as he was when he was training with Chimaev. He has dropped his last two fights, with his last win coming in his octagon debut, where he won against Mateusz Gamrot via split decision (nearly four years ago). A lot has changed since then, and Vucenic is a talented up-and-comer looking to make a statement in his UFC debut. Vucenic impressed the UFC top brass with a 9-1-0 record in Cage Warriors and a reign as the Cage Warriors Featherweight Champions.
Vucenic is a submission specialist who has fought in competitive MMA as recently as last month. His skill set and advantage in activity will cause some real problems for Kutateladze. Despite still remaining a close matchup on paper, I am much more confident in Vucenic’s ability to get the job done.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Jordan Vucenic UNANIMOUS DECISION (possible SECOND-ROUND SUBMISSION)
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Sharabutdin Magomedov vs Michal Oleksiejczuk
This is one of my favorite fights on the card. Shara hasn’t been away from the octagon for too long, but he’s already made waves across the division with his impressive style and highlight-reel finishes. Tonight, he’s facing off against a fighter who has not shown much confidence in his ability to beat Shara. Despite having a decent track record in the UFC, he has dropped three of his last four fights.
Shara is a faster striker, has way more power and lands way more strikes per minute than Oleksiejdzuk does. (7.1 to 5.07)
It’s important to note that Shara struggled to get his opponent out of the octagon in his last fight, ultimately getting him out midway through the third round. Despite this, I think there is a good chance that he will find the knockout in this fight; however, when adding him into your parlay, be sure to include a decision win along with a KO to cover the possibility of a strong decision win.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Sharabutdin Magomedov by SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Michael Chiesa vs Tony Ferguson
This one is tough to recommend given Tony’s storied history in the UFC. However, at 40 years of age, he is simply not the fighter he used to be. He’s absorbed too much damage and is no longer able to compete at a UFC level. Tony hasn’t won in his last seven fights, and he’s looked off in each one. He’s looked slow, didn’t defend himself well, and never put his opponents in real danger.
Despite Chiesa’s own struggles in the octagon with a three-fight losing streak, all three losses were against tough competition, and his grappling is still at a top-notch level. Chiesa should take this fight to the ground as quickly as possible; however, he is not in too much danger even on his feet. I can see Chiesa wrapping up this contest relatively quickly.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Michael Chiesa Patterson FIRST-ROUND SUBMISSION (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY MAIN EVENT PREDICTION (CASH & GPP):
Cory Sandhagen vs Umar Nurmagomedov
It’s really hard to bet against Nurmagomedov. When he started out in the UFC, he did struggle a bit with his striking, but his grappling was up to par with his family name. Since his debut, his striking has improved tremendously, even securing a first-round KO two fights ago.
Despite his improvements in the striking game, Nurmagomedov’s path to victory is very clear. He needs to grapple with Cory, be prepared to hold him down for 25 minutes and find the submission if the opportunity presents itself.
Like Nurmagomedov, Sandhagen is used to taking his opponents down and utilizing his Jiu-Jitsu to wear his opponents down. However, it’ll be clear very quickly that Nurmagomedov’s grappling is much stronger, and that skill level difference will be crystal clear once the fight goes to the canvas.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Umar Nurmagomedov UNANIMOUS DECISION (possible FOURTH-ROUND SUBMISSION).
SUMMARY:
On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I am finally allowed to bet again on UFC as restrictions have now been lifted in my area. As such, I will play the Parlay of the Day. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK, and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
