MOICANO V SAINT-DENIS
We had a week break after the spectacular Noche UFC and we are back to Europe for tonight’s UFC action. Some of France’s best up-and-coming UFC stars are taking centre stage tonight in Paris, and we will have a total of 14 fights on tonight’s card. The main event will feature Renato Moicano and Benoit Saint-Denis, two absolute killers who will be looking to move into a top spot in the UFC’s Lightweight division. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 12:00 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is highly recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event. These fighters are usually both active, and they can rack up a lot of points. There will be four top plays followed by best bets. Now, let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight, I’m here to give you my top four favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Fight Night 243 Moicano vs Saint-Denis.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH & GPP):
Fares Ziam vs Matt Frevola
Despite some struggles in 2021, Frevola has really begun to put the pieces together and take the fight to some really tough guys, including two fighters who, at the time, were undefeated. Steamrolla Frevola has really lived up to his nickname as of late, with three first-round finishes in his last four fights. Although he is in a tough matchup against Ziam, he is not going to be in tons of danger throughout the fight and can take control of the fight with some early pressure (something Ziam struggles with).
The other key here is that Ziam has not been too impressive lately, with three rather unconvincing decision wins, including one that was even judged to be a split decision. Ziam has yet to have a finish in the octagon, and I don’t think his slow, more calculated style will match up well with someone who puts on pressure like Frevola.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Matt Frevola by UNANIMOUS DECISION (possible SECOND ROUND-KO).
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
L’udovit Klein vs Roosevelt Roberts
The simple reality of this matchup is that Roberts does not belong in the UFC. His first stint in the organization did not go well at all as he went 4-4 losing to fighters like Kevin Croom (later turned into a NC) and Vinc Pichel. Roberts didn’t even really do enough to earn his shot back into the UFC through the Ultimate Fighter and ultimately fell short upon his return to the octagon even after coming into the fight overweight.
L’udovit has been rolling lately going undefeated over his last six fights. Although he has gone to a lot of decisions lately, with his heavy pressure style and sharp kicks he can definitely send Roosevelt Roberts packing early. Either way, I really like Klein to get the victory in this matchup
MY UFC DFS PICK: L’udovit Klen by SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Morgan Charriere vs Gabriel Miranda
Charriere is an extremely talented featherweight who previously held the featherweight title in the Cage Warriors organization and was on quite a roll until his split decision loss earlier this year.
Miranda on the other hand has been far less consistent and has faced some questionable opponents (0-8, 0-7, 0-0 records) on the Brazilian regional scene. Miranda will try to rely heavily on his grappling and with Charriere’s solid takedown defense, I see Miranda getting ran over early on in the fight.
Charriere can mix up his strikes very well, throws good combos and doesn’t telegraph his punches. When needed he also mixes in the kicks very well as we saw in his KO victory over Manolo Zecchini last year. Charriere has a lot of experience with fights going 25 minutes so, I do not have a concern with his tank or durability and with Miranda, I have yet to be convinced that he will be up to the task tonight.
Charriere will show the difference in skill level early. I see this one being a decisive victory for the Frenchman at home.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Morgan Charriere by FIRST-ROUND KO (possible SECOND-ROUND KO)
MY MAIN EVENT PREDICTION (CASH & GPP):
Renato Moicano vs Benoit Saint-Denis
Lots of chatter has spread regarding Renato Money Moicano, but when looking at this matchup, I don’t see Moicano getting anything going against Saint-Denis.
The former French Special Forces soldier and Judo black belt has been on an absolute war path since his initial fight in the UFC. His only loss since his debut came by way of a second-round KO against UFC legend Dustin Poirier; not a loss anyone should be ashamed of, but even in that fight, he held his own against Poirier, even putting the Diamond under some real pressure.
Although Moicano has been good lately, he has not fought anyone of the calibre of Saint-Denis, and Saint-Denis’s strong takedown defence and heavy strikes will cause some real problems for him. Saint-Denis also averages between 4-5 takedowns per 15 minutes and can challenge Moicano both on the feet and on the mat. I think this fight will finish earlier than most might expect; Saint-Denis will look on a different level tonight.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Benoit Saint-Denis by SECOND ROUND-KO (possible FIRST ROUND-SUBMISSION.
