In this article, I will be focusing on providing three players from each position on Fanduel (Guards/Forwards). One expensive player, one mid-tier, and a value player at each position to help you construct your CBB lineups. I want to note if I don’t include a player in my article that doesn’t mean I don’t like that player or that I am fading. The slate on Fanduel consists of six games which should make it a little less chalky in terms of player ownership. So let’s dive right in. Here are my Fanduel CBB Plays 12/15/20.
Games:
Clemson @ Virginia Tech // Line -1.5 Virginia Tech 129.5 O/U
Appalachian State @ Tennessee // Line -18.5 Tennessee 131.5 O/U
Minnesota @ Illinois // Line -7.5 Illinois 146.5 O/U
Georgia Tech @ Florida St // Line -8.5 Florida St 135.5 O/U
Kansas State @ Iowa St // Line -7.5 Iowa St 136.5 O/U
Furman @ Alabama // Line -5.5 Alabama 153.5 O/U
Guards:
Expensive Tier:
Ayo Dosunmu, G, Illinois ($8,400)
I am starting my lineup with possibly the best player on the slate in Dosunmu. He does it all for Illinois who has the 2nd highest implied team total on the slate at 78.50. This game also carries the 2nd highest over/under on the slate. As I mentioned above he does it all for Illinois as he leads the team in minutes played per game averaging 34.0. Also a 31.5% usage rate.
Mid-Tier:
Herbert Jones, G, Alabama ($6,700)
Jones is the guy I am looking at the mid-tier for the guard position. Alabama plays at a fast pace as does their opponent Furman. This is why this game carries the highest over/under on the slate at 153.5. So getting some pieces in this game would be ideal. Jones is averaging 28.9 MPG 2nd most out of the starters and has a 22.4% usage rate. He also averages 6.8 rebounds a game so definitely high upside on the glass for the guard. I think getting 2/3 guards for Alabama in your lineup is a good move.
Value:
Jaden Springer, G, Tennessee ($3,800)
This is a total punt value play if you’re looking to stack some more expensive players in your lineup. Springer was the prized recruit in the 2020 class for Tennessee as he was ranked #16 best recruit coming out of high school. He doesn’t start and only has two collegiate guys under his belt. Playing in 9 minutes and 25 minutes last game vs Cincy. Tennessee is 18.5 point favorites so could mean a little extra run for Springer in this game is a blow out.
Forwards:
Expensive Tier:
Noah Gurley, F, Furman ($7,000)
Furman comes into tonight’s game with a 5-1 record and the 67th ranking on KenPom. They haven’t played anybody besides Cincy who they lost to by 5. So we will definitely get to see how legit this team really is. As mentioned before this game has the highest over/under on the slate with both teams playing at top 50 paces in the country. Gurley is the guy I am looking at. He leads the starters with a 27.0% usage rate and averages 26.7 MPG. It’s more about getting pieces from both sides of this fast pace matchup.
Mid-Tier:
Clay Mounce, F, Furman ($6,000)
Going with two Furman forwards here as Mounce comes in 1K cheaper on Fanduel compared to Gurley. He is 2nd on the team with a 25.3% usage rate and averages 27.8 MPG. He actually leads the team with a 29% shot rate. So if you prefer to grab the cheaper Mounce I am fine with it if you don’t want to stack both forwards here.
Value:
John Fulkerson, F, Tennessee ($5,600)
I am guessing most people won’t be targeting this Tennessee/App St game with Tennessee being massive favorites. But, the one guy I like is Fulkerson who is $5,600 on Fanduel. Tennessee has the 3rd highest implied team total on the slate at 75 points. Fulkerson leads the team with a 25.9% usage rate and averages 28.5 MPG. The only issue I have is if this game gets out of control in the first half it may limit his minutes.
