ESports League of Legends 4/7 Article

ChampagneRavens ESports League of Legends Picks for Tuesday 4/7

Today I will be focusing on the upcoming League of Legends (LOL) LPL slate that we have ahead of us and will break it down as simply as possible for everyone to understand. I will be breaking down the ESports League of Legends DFS slate on DraftKings. We have a three gamer going on for this upcoming slate. One team that I will most likely completely fade will be LNG Esports (LNG). If I do end up with any exposure to LNG, it will be only in one lineup, due to the high upset rate in LOL. Today being as there are only three games, lines will be much higher-owned unless you decide to take a risk on an upset. Nobody is safe in these leagues. I mean NOBODY, unless you are playing against Victory Five (V5), then you are safe for sure. V5 can be ahead ten kills and 10 thousand in gold and somehow will find a way to lose. With that said, let’s look at the teams we have for today and possible optimal stacks to use with them.  Remember that because it is a short slate, don’t be afraid to have a support or top at your captain spot as sometimes it seems to work to be able to fit in some top players.

FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) (-1,200) (Cash/GPP):

The clear cut best option to stack tonight in this short slate and the main team you should have in your lineups for cash and GPP. This team is scorching hot all around and exactly what you are looking for from a team that’s also in a smash spot position. The team has not lost since the two first games of the season, which were against two of the top three, in my opinion. By all means, stack comfortably against LNG, who has not won a game in almost a month and has not been able to beat anyone in the top half of the LPL.

  • FPX Optimal Stack: Honestly, being one of the most consistent floors even when they sweep. This team is all around viable, especially for cash. My preferred guys to always have in my lineups would be LwxDoinB , and Crisp (for good ADC correlation)  as the main guys. Yes, other guys are viable to play and will play a key role as to who you are putting in at the Captain spot.
  •  Honorable mention: Khan (Starts over GimGoon this game), and Tian.

eStar (ES) (-150) (Top GPP): We all know eStar is one of the top teams right now. The only reason they are a borderline cash option is that they are matched up against another pretty good team that has shown that they can keep up with other top teams. ES has lost two in a row against mediocre teams. They are too aggressive in the early stages of those games. At the end of the day, they are still one of the top, if not the top team in the league, so they demand their respect, which is why it makes them a borderline cash option because of their ownership and high ceilings.

  • ES Optimal Stack: WinkCryinWEI, XiaoBai, and ShiauC are great at their separate positions. The reason I listed ES after FPX is because I am thinking about stacking the two. These two teams have the upside all around the map in them. I love the idea of stacking both of these elite teams together. Double support might be the way to go, which might still force you to build a three-three-one lineup, which is always a very strong lineup constructed for tournaments and cash games. These are for sure the two main teams to stack tonight.

Dominus Esports (DMO) (+130) vs. Bilibili Gaming (BLG) (-180) (GPP): I will have even shares of these two teams because we have two teams in the middle of the pack facing off versus each other. The odds are not heavy on either side so that it could be a three-game type of series. They will not bring much action but will bring steady production. I will have both sides mixed in with my other favorite stacks and most likely will stick to three guys at the MOST from either side. I personally thought BLG was going to somehow find their way into a better groove, but that has not happened at all even though they have had some notable wins against teams in the top half of the league lately, or at the minimum taking them to a game three, DMO is bad, but I think they will pull the win here against BLG. Again not much exposure to these teams, but is inevitable, especially when it is only a three-game slate.

  • Dominus Stack: I’m going to keep it simple for everyone since I don’t have a lot of love for either of these teams. Considering it’s a small slate, I will provide the guys that I think will do well as a stack. I will keep myself from going too heavy on either team. I will be looking into Xiye, Gala, and Mark. If anything, I’ll try to keep it to two guys for value and try to fit in a four-man stack of the top teams listed above.
  • Bilibili Gaming Stack: Same with the opposite side of this match. I will not have much exposure. I will keep to a two to three-man stack at most. The guys I would want, in my opinion, would be JinjaoMeteor, and Fofo. I am keeping it simple, nothing more.

JD Gaming (JDG) (+110) (Top GPP): Good solid team still needs to improve on a couple of things, but overall they can get the job done when in sync. I like them tonight against ES. Like we covered in the eStar review, they are somewhat struggling at the moment, as they were handed two losses, back to back, versus opponents at the bottom of the league, due to their early aggression. Now because it is a three-game slate, this pick won’t be as under-owned as we would like. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not great value. The odds are definitely close, as bettors seemed to have lost a lot of confidence on eStar because of their recent loss. We all know upsets happen, so there is no way I will overlook this team that can get on a roll if ES gives them the opportunity. ES is the favorite, but you better believe that if JDG gets the chance, they will make this top team pay. With that said, I will still suggest two to three stacks at the most if playing ten lines.

  • JDG Optimal Stack: If you want to take some shots at gpp, these guys are the ones you would want.  It all starts with Loken; he is their main guy. Then you can follow up the stack with Kanavi and then Zoom
  • Honorable Mention: Yagao, LvMao. Both great guys and you can definitely flip flop some players to fit in other top teams to your liking.

LNG ESports (LNG) (+550): Close to no exposure here, maybe one line in case things do get hectic with upsets. Other than that, I do not like the spot, and personally think they will get swept early. If by any chance, you do want to hedge one line, I would look at MapleFlandre, and Light in that order.
