2/22 EPL DFS Picks and Props

This article focuses on 2/22 EPL DFS Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

Aston Villa (+450) at Southampton (-180) – Under 3 Goals -120

This game has quite a few of the best plays on the entire slate. Southampton is actually the biggest favorite on the slate and Danny Ings has the highest goal scoring odds. He is priced sky high on Draftkings so I think I will get most of my Ings exposure on FanDuel. However, I love James Ward Prowse on DraftKings as he is not appropriately priced for this slate. On the other side Jack Grealish is a very strong DraftKings play. I like the certainty that we get with many players in this game, as opposed to Manchester City, who could conceivably bench a lot of starters in the late game, if they wish.

Brighton (+335) at Sheffield United (-115) – Over 2 Goals -140

Brighton is a mess right now and travel to a face a Sheffield United team that defensively is probably only second to Liverpool. With Manchester City’s 2 year Champion’s League ban, it is the Blades, who sit fifth in the table, who would receiving the final UCL qualifying spot if the season ended today. Dean Henderson has one of my favorite goalies to use this season and he should be in play again today. This team isn’t quite as apt on the offensive side but the Oliver McBurnie’s and John Fleck’s of the world are in play for tournaments.

Manchester City (-145) at Leicester City (+340) – Over 3 Goals -115

I just don’t know what to make of this. My gut tells me to avoid this situation altogether and if anything maybe side with Leicester despite the odds. Manchester City has absolutely nothing to play for in the EPL the rest of the year. They cannot qualify for the Champion’s League next year due to their newly implemented ban for a breach of financial fair play and have no shot at winning the Premier League. Meanwhile, they have their biggest match for the next few years against Real Madrid in the Champion’s League in a few days. If you want to save one spot for Sergio Aguero or Kevin De Bruyne on FanDuel go for it. James Maddison and Jamie Vardy make for intriguing tournament options. Given that they are +340 underdogs, I like money line bets on Leicester City.

Newcastle (+340) at Crystal Palace (-110) – Over 2 Goals – -115

If Matt Ritchie is out, look out for this Valentino Lazaro on DraftKings, as he took all the set pieces last time out in Ritchie’s absence. Other than that, Luka Mililvejovic is in play on DraftKings as well. However, I’m mainly looking at goalies and then defenders on FanDuel if they are cheap.

Bournemouth +270 at Burnley (+105) – Under 2.5 Goals – -145

This game definitely isn’t sexy. I’m more inclined to roster the Burnley guys here as Bournemouth is not too appetizing, particularly on the road.
