DraftKings Ownership Projections for the The 3M Open

This week we are in the Twin Cities in Minnesota for the 3M Open. It has added significance with the FedEx playoffs going from the usual top 125 golfers to only 70 this year. Most of those making the 12 hour flight from England to play this week are doing so out of desperation to try and crack that top 70. A select few want to move up and are already seeded. The Course and it’s Horses

This course favors long accurate hitters. The around the green game has been nullified by the larger than life greens even though you still have to putt well. There are many water hazards on this course which means rostering control hitters that can avoid bogeys. We project that player #54 through player #79 will have added pressure trying to stay inside that 70 golfer plateau to get to East Lake. Favorites with the shortest odds include Finau, Young, IM, and Matsuyama.

Recent Results

Last week our Frisky Biscuit and Ice Water plays both made the cut and brought great value at 2% and under 2% ownership. Rozner finished top 20 and brought whale sized leverage. This brings our overall record to 52-15. Our record since the Sentry in January is 32-9. That’s for a six K salaried golfer under 5 % ownership that makes the cut to bring value. Both values were in the 5K salary range for the Open.

Whether to trust the Weather

The weather is calling for extreme heat and little rain. The course is dry, any morning moisture may help. There will be winds in the pm as well. We feel there’s a slight advantage to the am wave, if you have golfers in the pm that you want to roster we don’t believe the difference is enough to stay off them.
